Next time, give it to your local Scout Troop. They'll dispose of it in a respectful manner.
Why would I know where the local Scout Troop is? And why would I waist time looking for one? I think it best to keep secrets over these things, I guess.

30 seconds on Google is a "waist" of time?

I think it best to keep secrets over these things, I guess.
If you could put this into a comprehensible sentence, that would be great.

I have no idea who you "think" is keeping "secrets" about what "things".

I just can't get over how some folks think they should be seen as experts in YOUR religion, when they don't even believe in its basic tenets.

I know. Sadly, I'm rather accustomed to that kind of reaction. I honestly don't expect anything better.

It is hard for some Christians in our culture to think of Christianity as anything but rules you must follow, as morality. This is the legacy of Puritan religion and Calvinism.

Lutheranism is very different: God loves us, saves us, and gives us the freedom to live our lives serving our neighbor. We do not earn our place in heaven. God loves gay people and salvation extends to them also in the same way it does to straight people, through hearing the Word and receiving the Sacraments.

Personally speaking, I'm not going to treat another human being like garage and repeatedly attempt to have their rights as American citizens stripped away because they are different from me in some manner, whether it's their sexual orientation, their ethnicity, their religion, their gender or their age. I'm going to treat other people the way I would like for them to treat me and if I can help someone, despite who they are, then I will do so. I'm not going to deny someone my help because they commit some sin that I have never committed myself. I will show them love and compassion just as God has shown me love and compassion through His Son, Jesus Christ. That's how I choose to live my life.

And that is what real Christian ethics actually is based on. Not treating the Bible as a code of rules for life that must be rigidly followed lest some angry God punish us. It's showing the same grace to our neighbors that God has shown to us.

I not going to waist my time over a flag. It's not God. I think it best to keep secret about getting rid of a flag.Thats what I met. But my neighbor, that's a police. Said to give him old flags, So I will do that.

It's a basic biblical teaching of treating other people the way you would like to be treated.

I don't know, refusing to hire a talented QB because of his stance could be construed as economic violence.
Do you have a reference to this "talented QB"? Certainly wasn't Kaepernick. He was a mediocre QB who is a back up QB on any other team and wanted starter $$$. At the time he opted out of his contract, his contract was worth an average of $21 million a year. No one will pay that kind of money for a back up. His employment status is completely of his own doing.

Why there are 15 backup QBs better than Kaepernick

And yet another example I can add to my reasons for being a liberal and not a conservative.

As I was saying in my previous post...

(6) It has been liberals, not conservatives, who have been consistently compassionate and supportive of me during the last 28 years I have been involved in political and social justice activism.

Well of course they are! You agree with them. Why would they not be supportive and compassionate?

Conservative Christians tend to get abused more often because they believe there is right & wrong. Jesus & the apostles had no hesitation condemning sin, along with preaching the love of God & the forgiveness of sin.

I think you should read everything Jesus said, not just cherry pick to support your own prejudice.

It's not cherry picking, its an observation. Many Christians make themselves a proverb and a byword. To make oneself a scandal to the Gospel is one of the worst of all possible sins, Christ says it would be better that a millstone were tied around onesuch neck, and they were tossed into the sea.

Naw, mostly conservative Christians "get abused more often" because they get stuck on "condemning sin" and never move on to the rest of it.

And most of them aren't even preaching against all sin. Most of them tend to cherry-pick which sins they'll condemn, such as homosexuality, but many of them don't usually condemn the sins that they are guilty of committing themselves. We don't see the level of moral outrage against lying or adultery or lust in inappropriate contentography as we see in their indignant raging against homosexuality and other LGBT.

Another example is their continued support for Donald Trump and their continued reluctance to call him out on his own sinfulness and immoral behavior. They have repeatedly excused his sinful behavior by insisting that he shouldn't be judged for his sins or that his sins are between him and God or he didn't commit adultery while he's been the President, so his infidelity shouldn't be held against him.

Not only that, Trump grew up in a liberal Presbyterian church that preached the teachings of Norman Vincent Peele, a man whose message was essentially taken straight from New Thought, a precusor to the New Age movement, and which was widely criticized by clergy, theologians, and psychologists at the time as being junk at best, dangerous at worst.

That is why he's never asked God for forgiveness. Because in his mind just keeping positive, even about the worst things you do, is what's important. Admitting you are wrong is literally beyond him. The man has never learned that important life lesson.

Personally, I can't say that Conservatives are all the same enough to to paint them with a single brush. I have certainly seen some trends, but they are bucked by other conservative friends I have that are articulate, considered, consider sourced based information and facts. There are "left leaners" who also choose not to do those things..

This thread had a large clean up. There was some flagrant flaming and many off topic posts not related to the OP at all. Any further off topic or flaming posts will be dealt with by staff.
