The Law, Sinai covenant, WAS Israel's guide as how God wanted the Israelite nation to live under. It was never meant to be a salvational covenant.
Well that has no truth in it Bob. That is like saying everyone before the NEW COVENANT is lost and has no salvation. God's people in the OLD COVENANT and before were saved in the same way that we are in the NEW COVENANT and that is by FAITH. (HEBREWS 11:4-40)
In the OLD COVEANT they looked forward to the promised Messaiah and God's plan of salvation. In the NEW COVENANT we look back to the promised Messaiah (Jesus) and God's plan of salivation.
All HEBREWS Chapter 11 shows God's WORD disagrees with you here Bob.
Question: how could a ritual command given to Israel commanding Israel, and Israel only, to observe the weekly Sabbath because of their flight out of Egypt morph into a worldwide all nation obligation? Well, it didn't and those who thump that we must keep it or lose our eternal inheritance are plain lying to those they are teaching.
Good question Bob, this is what the OP is about that you have not read. Your question is answered in the OP. I suggest you read it. There are two parts to the OLD COVENANT which incluide 1. God's LAW (10 Commandments) and 2. The MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT. God's LAW is God's LAW it does not have ritual commands. It is ONLY the MOSIAC BOOK of the COVENANT that has the ritual laws for remission of SIN. These are the SHADOW laws you mix up with GOD'S ETERNAL LAWS that give us a KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL (SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS) in both the OLD AND NEW COVENANTS and is the standard of the JUDGEMENT to come.

Seems God's WORD disagrees with you again Bob.
Another fact is that in 2Cor 3:7-11 Paul wrote that the 10 commandments WERE the commandments of death and that they WERE done away. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:.....
LETS LOOK AT 2COR 3?
v6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament (Covenant);
not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit giveth life.
v7, But if the ministration of death, written and graven in stones,
was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away.
v8, How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
v9, For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
v10, For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
v11, For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
v12, Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
v13, And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
v14, But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
v15, But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16, Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17,
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Lets’ put it all together….
v6-7 What is the ministration of death graven in stone? It is God’s Law (10 commandments;
Exodus 20:1-17; 31:18; 32:16). Why were they called the ministration of death? Because God’s Law (10 commandments) give the knowledge of sin and righteousness but makes nothing perfect (
James 2:11;
1 John 3:4;
Romans 3:20; 7:7;
Hebrews 7:19 ).
God’s Law only shows what sin is and if broken, the penalty for sin is death (
Romans 6:23).
v8-10 It was to teach us that we are all sinners in need of a saviour and that all the world may become guilty before God (
Romans 3:10; 19;
Isaiah 64:6).
It leads us to Christ that we might be justified by faith (
Galatians 3:24;
Romans 3:28).
v10-17 The glory of the one passes to the glory of the other (Law to Christ). They both work together to bring the sinner to salvation. It is the glory of the one (God’s Law) that points to the Glory of the other because God’s Law leads the sinner to the Saviour (Galatian 3:24-25).
The glory has been done away not God’s Law. God’s Law is perfect and is forever but makes nothing perfect it is the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (
Ecclesiastes 3:14) but makes nothing perfect. Faith that works by love through walking in the Spirit is the new ministration when someone is born again. This is the new covenant of the one written on stone (Old Covenant) to the promise of God's Law being written in the heart by LOVE (
Hebrews 8:10-12;
Romans 13:8-10;
James 2:9-12).
This is the difference between the true Gospel and the counterfeit. The counterfeit Gospel is one that tries to separate God’s Law from the cross but without God’s Law no one has the knowledge of good and evil; sin and righteousness (
James 2:11;
1 John 3:4;
Romans 3:20; 7:7;
Hebrews 7:19). The first lie told in the garden of Eden by the farther of lies to Eve was that you can break God's Commandments and you will not surely die.
These scriptures do not support your teaching Bob that God's LAW is done away.
GAl 3:3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, ......
Lovely scriptures Bob, and your point is? We are ONLY saved by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of ourselves it is a GIFT of GOD and NOT of WORKS lest any man should boast.
If your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected God's he GIFT of God's dear son (James 2:18; 20; 26; James 2:8-12). If your tree has no FRUIT then it will be cast down and thrown into the fire (Matt 7:12-23; Hebrews 10:26-27). Many do not know why God has given us GRACE and FAITH...
WHAT IS GRACE FOR?
ROMANS 1:5, By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name.
ROMANS 6:1-2, [1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. [2], How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
DOES FAITH ABOLISH GOD'S LAW?
ROMANS 3:31 [31], Do we then ABOLISH THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.
Seems like God's WORD disagrees with you Bob.
No matter how you cut it trying to keep the Sabbath is works of the defunct, for Israel only, Law. The covenant was broken by Israel. A broken covenant has no power. The Sinai covenant is history. The new covenant is an everlasting covenant not like the one it replaced. It is a better covenant with better promises. You can choose to live under the defunct ministry of death and die or live under the eternal covenant of life and live. Jesus died so that Israel would not die according to the ministry of death. In so doing He has offered all mankind the opportunity to receive Him and live under the new covenant. The choice is yours. Choose wisely.
Not really Bob, If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL then you have no part in the NEW COVENANT. Gentiles are now grafted in (Romans 11:16:27) as it is written...
WHO ARE GOD'S ISRAEL IN THE NEW COVENANT?
THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YOU ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS and IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN ARE YOU ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE
(Galatians 3:28).
FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL,: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called <Christ> That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE <those who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED
(Romans 9:6).
FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God
. (Romans 2:28-29)
Colossians 3:11,
WHERE THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Romans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
FOR THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JEW OR GREEK: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.
Hebrews 8:10-12,
BUT THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE
HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, says the LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Gentiles are now grafted into God's ISRAEL (
Romans 11:13-24)
God's ISRAEL in the NEW COVENANT are ALL those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. God's Sabbath is an EVERLASTING and PERPETUAL Covenant that will be continued in the NEW EARTH (
Isaiah 66:22-23)
Yep looks like the gentiles are now grafted into God's ISRAEL.
If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL then you are NOT a part of the NEW COVENANT.
................
SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (
James 2:9-11;
Romans 7:7;
1 John 3:4)
Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN .
................
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (
Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (
James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (
Hebrews 10:26-27)[/quote]
