Even most of the Democrats in Washington are not mentioning Obama much regarding the stock market today.

M-Bob

It didn't really start skyrocketing until Trump took office, so I certainly wouldn't be giving Obama the credit for it.

It is when Trump runs out of gifts to give corporations that we will see the true effect of his administration. Maybe good. Maybe bad. We will not know until gifts run out.

Gifts? You mean like not taxing them as much and then people who invest their money in those companies actually see an increase rather than watch their investments fail?

Lower taxes are a gift. Allowance to pollute environment, and have society pay for cleanup instead of company. That is also a gift. Gifts come in many different wrappings. But eventually Trump will have no more gifts to give.

As I said when that happens economy may continue to grow, or it may hit recession. We will have to wait and see.

Along with many different colorful labels, according to the viewpoint of the one doing the labeling.

Indeed. To quote bloomberg (Note that Obama is #1 for hourly wage.):

Ranking the Obama Economy
Trump says the last eight years have been disastrous. Nope, not when compared to other recent presidencies.

This doesn't really mean much in relation to what we're discussing. The stock market is the topic, and we've all seen what those numbers have been showing since Trump was elected.

Bloomberg has Obama ranked #3, ahead of Reagan, for S&P 500. And #1 for value of dollar.

Considering economy was on verge of collapse when Obama took over, that is very well done.

It always takes some time before string of bad Trump decisions forces him to declare bankruptcy, so we will have to wait and see what happens in the future. Perhaps his advisors will be able to help him avoid bankrupting the country. I personally hope this is true.

Well, Trump wasn't even on that chart. As for who will be seen as more responsible for the recent spike in the stock market when a future chart is made, I believe Trump will be seen most responsible for the current surge.

Yes, things change over a four year term, so we won't know final results of Trump presidency until he is finished. You can believe what every you want. It is a free country.

Stock market through the ceiling and the word is much more growth to come thanks to Trump.

Best to keep the minimum wage where it's at counterproductive to raise it.
M-Bob

...I was referring to wages in general. I'm sure that once the businesses are relieved of their Federal tax burden, they'll give their deserving employees a raise...

Yes, I expect to see more hiring and pay raises for some.

Heard today that a family of 4 making $55,000 a year will pay nothing in taxes. For many there should be some nice tax rebates.

We will see?

The poll seems to be missing the "Neither" option.

That was already noted Way Way Back When.

Will try to remember you on the next poll.

Correct answer is Trump according to poll results.

We shall see, though the evidence over the past year suggests that manufacturing jobs will continue moving out of the US. Despite Trump's promises, Carrier and Ford are still building plants and hiring in Mexico rather than in the US. It is also one of the complaints I've seen leveled at the tax bill (though haven't double checked against the final version), that it allowed US companies to move their manufacturing overseas while gaining the benefit of the tax cuts.
