How about both? Market was going up under Obama and has continued under Trump.

Personally I think we give way too much credit to the executive branch when the stock market does things. I can't imagine you'd start blaming Trump if there were a crash next year.

I agree ...

The DOW went from approx 9000 to 20000 under Obama ... and has gained another approx 5000 points under Trump. The DOW has been on the ascendancy since Obama came into office in 2009 ...

Yeah, the idea that record highs are all Trump's doing ignores that it had to get to 20,000 under Obama for it to be possible.

The market place is opposed to God, and oppressing the common people.

A common man of top the mountain here that sure has not been oppressed by the stock market. It's been very helpful in retirement.

That should have been another option offered when the thread was created.

But, I still would have voted straight Trump because the ones I know including myself give very little if any credit to Obama.

Who gets the credit for it going up under Obama?

How about you thank God instead ?

I don't disagree Loaf Cat, i ABSOLUTELY agree. however, President Trump should get credit where it's due him. God is very CLEAR on this throughout His Word, as demonstrated by that verse to not shut the mouth of the ox so he can't eat as he's laboring.

Not comparing President Trump to an ox, you understand :D

But giving credit where credit is due is a Godly thing to do, and it not only blesses the one that we give due credit to, but it also blesses us.

Amen?

Remember, the market bets on the future. I have a theory that it was easily recognized that Obama was so horrible that there was no way a Democrat could get elected president immediately after him. Hence, the market correctly predicted that things would get better. Statistically, my theory checks out for other past Democrat executives, too.

In political sections of this forum, I'm not at all comfortable exposing the contradictions. Perhaps later YHWH Willing, if and when and where 'controversy' is permitted. (if at all, on this forum)

It is also in Proverbs, for instance, about wisdom in investing, etc. and is demonstrated most profoundly, as a matter of fact, in Proverbs 31, via the description of what a Godly and wise woman is.

In addition, God gave Job MORE riches and blessings than he had previously.

God doesn't hate "riches" nor the wisdom to use those riches wisely. We are meant to bless others with those riches. As it is written:

"A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor." ~Proverbs 22:9

"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." ~Proverbs 19:17

Ooh, maybe we can just apply that to Trump as well. We'll just keep betting that the next President can't possibly be more horrible than the last.

Preferably, if not necessarily, in things Godly, helping others growing,
not unrighteously, oppressing the common man and wiping out the finances and livelihoods of many (as the stock market does).
Very few apparently have ever taught God's Way in this, and likewise few have ever found out , or perhaps even few care for God's Way. (the world's way is so much more popular and profitable, by appearances, regardless what actually happens).

Many multitudes believe investing "in casinos" is okay with YHWH !
That is a more extreme illustration perhaps,
but helps make the point about investing in anything that destroys or continually oppresses so many lives.

Yet, there is my post, which you quoted from, which says none of that, does it?

By the way, it was a RICH man who provided for Jesus Christ's burial place, because he had none.

"Riches" are meant to be "blessings" for others.

Look at Jabez. What did he ask for? God responded and gave what he requested instantaneously.

Why was that?

Yes we can and probably should apply it to him, seeing as how he was a lifelong Democrat until he changed his label.

In the Bible there were some that invested money it appears that the ones that took a little risk it paid off for them and for the one that did not take a risk it did not pay off?

Investing in casinos and things like that would be a no no for the Christian.

Nobody is forced to get into the stock market unless it is something at their work that their Retirement Board invest in.

Maybe so but he is doing very good as a conservative.

More should see the light.
