What is the issue here? 26 years in the military, 18 in the chaplaincy, I think he is well qualified for the position and aware of his duties.

Is the military wrong to allow Islamic chaplains?

Soldiers from a variety of faiths serve in the US army and they have a right to have a chaplain from each of their religions-I don't understand the issue. How would you feel if you were a national of a country with a Christian minority and a chaplain was denied to you?

Don't anyone tell them about this chaplain, 'I fit right in as a Hindu chaplain in the US military' brown, non-Christian and female!
Do you honestly find no difference between the two? Would you have asked our grandfather's to serve with a Japanese officer, and be 'blessed' by them before battle? Maybe you need to study your history and the Bible more before your moralistic worldview dictate your judgement in the matter.

Japanese isn't a religion.

First of all, that analogy makes no sense, because the people the US military is fighting is only a sliver of the muslim population. More apt would be to ask "would your grandfather have been happy to serve with any person of asian descent", which would have propably been the case.

Second, japanese people DID serve in the US military during WW 2, though they mostly fought in europe, and many were discharged or sent away to do menial tasks.

Third, are you really going to defend the actions against japanese americans taken during WW2?

Of course Japanese did serve, and the fought heroicly, and as far as the wartime persecution they faced, ask the Democrats about it, their hero FDR did all that, he even turned away a boat load of Jew's during the Holocaust, Fantastic guy, ran 4 times, like a dictator, yet only Trump can be one on the CF threads.

Don't worry, if you're this opposed to religious liberty you will never have to work with the man in the article. After all if it's that odious you would never be able to take the oath of enlistment as the first line is a deal breaker.
