• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How can the grace of God be resisted by some yet received by others?

and, having believed by the power of the Holy Spirit
So one must believe in order to be in a state of salvation. Is that a state of regeneration or justification. If it's the latter, I'd be inclined to agree. If it's the former, then I'd have to disagree.

Now that I specifically answered your question, see post 337, I would like you to answer these simple questions that can be answered with one word.

Since becoming a child of God .....

1) Have you ever sinned?
2) Have you ever made a mistake?
3) If so did God cause you to sin?
4) If so did God cause you to make a mistake?
5) If so did God allow you to sin?
6) If so did God allow you to make a mistake?
1. Yes
2. Yes.
3. No
4. No.

He desires none of the elect to perish.

Context, context, context.
I think you need to explain why you have changed the Words of God.

You added 'of the elect'. Are you reading your own opinion into God's perfect Word?

I didn't change or add words. I said you need to read the verse in context.

I don't think you know what justification means.

Justification is when Christ declares us righteous, gives US HIS perfect righteousness. He becomes our Advocate, He stands in our place and His perfection is judged.

So regeneration, nothing like justification.

As a matter of fact, what does regeneration even mean? Let's see how you do this in one sentence. lol.

Well share with us the verse in context then. Cut and paste God's Word.

Show your point and prove it. It seems you are an advocate for opinion on the forum, rather than providing scripture.

Because you used regeneration and justification in the same sentence to describe what you believe are the principles that call us to be saved. As usual you offer no answer or proof of your opinion, but more questions to the other person. Seems you are not willing to STAND on your words but are so vague purposely to leave yourself an out when you are incorrect. I remember doing this in grade school.

Is there a reason that virtually every post addressed to me and Skala has some sort of personal attack?

To me, it shows your lack of knowledge which I find in most that believe in predestination. They cannot absolve their beliefs to the Bible as they do not understand the Bible well enough to ask themselves any hard questions. smh

You might want to go back and reread what I wrote. I definitely differentiated between the two.

I never stated nor implied that justification and regeneration were the same thing.

It is probably frustration with your lack of answers, much less direct answers. I don't think that it is very respectful on your part to throw out one liners but have no scripture to support your view. And then ask the person seeking a HONEST answer, another question.

It is very disrespectful to any honest person answering and participating in a thread. Several others have also commented on your lack of transparency, one-liners, and our insistance of asking the person you are not answering a question to prove your questionable theology false.

If the truth seems disrespectful, maybe the Lord and the Holy Spirit are convicting you.

So your insults are actually being guided by the Holy Spirit.

Gotcha.

That would definately require work on my part and since you are not giving anyone else the courtesy of answering their questions, being purposely vague, I think I'll let you show me my error, if you can.

That statement wasn't vague. I addressed what the poster had said, but asked for clarification. "Saved" could be referring to regeneration, justification, or the process as a whole.

Nice throwback to the other person.

In reply I would say, your lack of Biblical understanding and your lack of viewing it as important is not showing that you are being guided by the Holy Spirit. Maybe it's time to learn and listen. The Holy Spirit cannot teach those who do not bow to His knowldge.

I don't have a lack of biblical understanding, so your point is moot.

Plus, this thread isn't about me.

Really? I think anyone reading this thread can see that you

1. Rarely answer anything with more than one sentence, much less God's Word
2. You choose to put questions back onto the other person, rather than try to explain the Bible that you do not seem to understand.

So I will let each participant look back on your posts and decide what is truth. Sometimes we convict ourselves with our actions, nothing needed from anyone else.
