Is that also why the tribe of Ephraim isn't listed either?"A lot of people why the tribe of Dan is not listed in the Revelation passage regarding the 144,000.Could it be that this is the tribe that the Antichrist comes from?"
Dan is excluded because of the tribe's behavior to bring and promote idol worship
Satan's anti-christ will arise in northwestern Mesopotamia in the Middle East [Daniel 8:9-25; Micah 5:5-6] .... the little horn of Daniel's visions [Daniel 7; 8; 11;36-45; 12:7]
This one will be a Muslim Caliph who will confederate the divides of the Muslim Middle East
Joseph is listed. But Jeroboam led Israel (Northern tribes) into idolatry and he was of the tribe of Ephraim. Is that also why the tribe of Ephraim isn't listed either?![]()
The whole of Israel was into idolatry at one point in time, which was the reason why they went into captivity. Your claim is speculative.Joseph is listed. But Jeroboam led Israel (Northern tribes) into idolatry and he was of the tribe of Ephraim.
<Staff Edit> Joseph is not a tribe. Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, became two of the twelve tribes. There is no tribe called Joseph, nor is there a tribe of Levi among the twelve tribes of Israel.Ephraim is included, but under the tribe of Joseph
Only Dan is left out of the 144000, but is still a valid tribe
Wonder where they got the idea for the calf idol? (Aaron made one, too, but it was destroyed by Moses.)

I think he will be Nimrod...a clone or a hybrid which Satan will possess.Satan's "anti-christ" , the first beast of Revelation, is actually this entity [Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 13:1-4; 17:8-18] .... Abaddon/Apollyon will inhabit the human little horn of Daniel's visions
And the human little horn will not be an Israelite .... he is this one [Micah 5:5-6]
.... he will be of today's Muslims from the line of Ishmael
Thing is, Nimrod has had so many names. I believe Abaddon/Apollyon, could possibly be Nimrod by another name.It is Abaddon who will come out of the abyss .... not Nimrod

<Staff Edit>Ephraim isn't named, but may be included through Joseph (it does say Joseph and Manasseh, although Manasseh is a son of Joseph).
Dan isn't named or implied.
I personally think it's because of the idolatry they led Israel in with the altar and golden calfs they set up. One was in Dan, and the other in Bethel in Samaria, which falls inside the tribal area of Ephraim.

1 Kings 12:28-31
28 Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!” 29 And he set up one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. 30 Now this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan. 31 He made shrines on the high places, and made priests from every class of people, who were not of the sons of Levi.
Also, Dan didn't stay in the land of their allotted inheritance. Instead they traveled north and they attacked a peaceful people by surprise and set themselves up in their town (formerly called Laish, the town called Dan in the far north on the map) (1 Kings 18). They also established it in idolatry from the beginning, by taking Micah's idol and idolatrous priest from Micah's house in the land of Ephraim. The idolatry continued in the city of Dan until the golden calf idol was taken away by the Assyrians and the people were uprooted and scattered in the nations.
Wonder where they got the idea for the calf idol? (Aaron made one, too, but it was destroyed by Moses.)

I am so glad someone actually started a topic on this. This is a very important issue. Joseph gets the double portion with Dan removed.
However, this topic will not be a very settling one if we divulge deeply into the issues.
Dan is considered the Serpent tribe.
<Staff Edit> If it were so, Manasseh would not have been listed since Joseph represents two tribes and not just one. You can't name Manasseh and assume Joseph, which is not a name of a tribe, represents Ephraim.!

Yes, the serpent by the way.
Genesis 49:
16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
