  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another one of those thinkup the answer depending on the question pro-abort responses. Their chosen method of avoiding the truth is denial, hoping that no one will notice the obvious. Fortunately their war on babies is losing momentum as abrition numbers are declining and baby killing facilities are closing at a rate of knots. In addition, there are more young people against abortion that for it. The first time ever. Looks like the leaders of tomorrow are going to be against abortion so the future is good.

Thanks for these wise comments!

So lets just punish the rape victim twice.

Abortion is equivalent to punishing the woman two times: First she is the victim of rape, and then the victim of a second rape by metal instrument wielded by the abortionist.

And exactly how is an abortion, if that it what the rape victim chooses, equal to a "second rape"?

We must make this choice for the baby. Do you wish someone had made the wrong choice for you when you were a baby?
So a pregnant woman is just an incubator, unable to make decisions regarding her own body? Some third party has to make choices for her?

BTW if my mother had chosen to have an abortion I wouldn't know any different, would I?

Folks, you need to keep it civil and deal with the content of posts and not member.

This includes not using terms that are goading or inflammatory. "Pro-abort" is one of those terms.

A small clean up was done

Isn't it nice that someone who will never face the risk of becoming pregnant as a result of rape wants to force those who do to carry the fetus to term against their will. You don't care about the pain and suffering that they will go through, they are just human incubators who should be forced to do your bidding.

I hold to the same positions as these female run groups:
http://www.feministsforlife.org/
http://liveaction.org/

I actually care more about the killing of innocent human beings. Also, many women who have abortions suffer tremendously after an abortion. They are rarely, if ever, told of what could follow an abortion. For many there is psychological trauma, not to mention an increase chance of cancer, miscarriage, and other reproductive issues.

I've never thought of a woman as a human incubator. Interesting that the so called pro-choice side came up with that term.

No woman in the history of ever did my bidding. So your strawmen and ad ad hominem are not arguments, they are fallacies. Attempts to discredit a POV by mischaracterization and personal attack.

Not conceived from rape so doesn't apply to what I have been talking about.

Which I mentioned and you convientiely left out. Also, I had two examples and one WAS a conception from rape. Plus I included a link with more examples of human beings that were not aborted even though the mother's conceived through rape. There are women, who have been raped, who hold to the same position I hold. There are also those children of rape victims who, now alive thanks to their selfless mothers, are speaking out on behalf of life in the womb.

You play the rape card and the gender card.

Perhaps we should roll back Roe-v-Wade because some men in black robes had something to do with the abortion decision of 73.

Do you believe that poisoning to death and dismemberment are not punishment? For the crime of the unborn's baby father?
Do you always answer questions with questions?
I think we can agree that anything that causes an unborn pain should not be done.
BUT for me if the mother's life is in danger something must be done. Hopefully both lives can be saved but that is not always possible.

imo. The rape victim should have access to Plan B. If used within 12-24 hrs. the chances of an egg being fertilized is 5%.
Within a couple of weeks an accurate pregnancy test can be done. If she is pregnant she should have the option of abortion but it should be done as soon as she knows.

This hasn't been mentioned but married woman have been raped by strangers. Some husbands don't do well with it and refuse to raise another man's child, especially this child. They don't do well seeing the wife pregnant by another man. There have been divorces and families destroyed. Sometimes there is more than one life at stake. Because pregnancy from rape is rare doesn't mean we should ignore it when we make laws.

Personally I don't feel that any abortion should be done past 12 wks. except in the case of the mother's physical life in danger.

not to mention an increase chance of cancer
Worldwide studies have proven that abortions are not connected to breast cancer.
