Perhaps but when you "derive" your authority from the Bible, then you are trusting in God to be the final authority. Because He tells us that He will watch over His word to perform it. So when God says it, then that settles it. We do not always understand what God is saying, so people have been know to make errors and mistakes, but God does not have an eraser on His pencil, He does not every make any mistakes. Of course He has the advantage of actually being able to look into the future to see how things turn out. We do not have that advantage. Also He can go back in time to fix things. If we went back in time to try to fix something we may end up with a bigger mess then what we started with.
Jer 1 12 The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled."
We do not trust in man and we do not trust in ourselves or our own ability. We trust in God and in what He is able to do.
"Look into the future to see how things turn out"????? LOL! That's not what the man made Bible says.
