CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've put in for an extention for history.
I might have dyslexia, hence why I miss out words - you guys must have noticed among other things. So waiting on study skills appointment and see what they say.
And I have been given a growth group tomorrow which am mega excited about

I dunno why converting is such a taboo. I don't think it's that hugely offensive if someone wants to convert me in polite manner. It's the way it's done that matters, not the thing itself.

Thanks guys I don't think am dyslexic but certain things I do seems like I might moderately have it :-S my mum has it and so does my bother so it is genetic. :-S

Is there some effective therapy for it? I know a girl who some years ago couldn't practically read at all but nowadays she's writing a blog so something must have changed. I don't think it could go away by itself?

Depends on the scale of it,
Some people need paper over their books so that they then can read as the words move about or snake like.
Myself I skip words and sentences
It doesn't go away they just use tools.

Its not us (Christianity) that does the converting, it's God, the Big Guy upstairs, our Father!
A lot don't seem to know that.
Mmmh, matter of point of view I guess.
My brother is a Christian and we have had habit of trying to convert each others very straight forward whenever we meet. It's like, we say "hi" then start to tell how wrong the other one is in his beliefs, it's bit like our own wierdo mind game we've been playing for years. I don't think either one of us has too high hopes of actually succeeding (at least I don't), but I like it that he's sometimes pointed out actual real errors or risks in my way of thinking, and I like to think I've sometimes done the same for him.
Talking to someone like that all the time would of course be exhausting, but I find it refreshing once in a while to be challenged a bit. It's easy to be tempted to think that I got it all figured out if nobody ever questions my thoughts.

Arguing faith beliefs is pointless...... you aren't going to change someones mind no matter how well thought out and right you believe you are.
If they believe it, they aren't going to be swayed by words. Otherwise it wouldn't be their beliefs.
