Belief.
Does your theology hold individuals responsible for things outside of their control, such as belief?
You do know there is a forum for formal debate, correct?
How circular. It's only "His correspondence" when you believe it is "His correspondence".
I suppose I could submit myself to being tortured, or drug therapy, or hypnosis, or a good bonk on the head, and with the right conditioning find myself believing that gods, perhaps yours in particular, were real, but I would consider that outside of typical "conscious control" - what others might consider holding me responsible for, such as in a court of law.I'm not sure that belief is entirely outside of our control.
I don't disagree. However, it does appear that your theology is built on this [faulty] premise that we can consciously decide to believe, in a manner that we can be held responsible for. It's more complicated than "we choose all our beliefs" or "all our beliefs are entirely outside of our control".
And if it isn't, it isn't even if you beleive it to be so.No. The Bible is God's word or it isnt. If It is, it is even if you don't believe it is.
In another thread, you said "God is responsible for sending people to hell the same way a judge is responsible for sending a criminal to jail."They are judged both in this life and when they stand before Christ.
A long life is not necessarily a life void of God's judgment.
A "healthy" life is not necessarily a life void of God's judgment.
I think nonbelief is forgiveable. One of the twelve was a skeptic. All sins can be forgiven, if you just believe. The only sin that cannot be forgiven is nonbelief. Apparently that sin is worse than all the others combined.
I don't disagree. However, it does appear that your theology is built on this [faulty] premise that we can consciously decide to believe, in a manner that we can be held responsible for.
Is this accurate? Does your theology actually hold individuals responsible for things outside of their control?
Could it be that your theology is wrong? My theology would say a few things:
1. All people know God. They know that he exists and that they owe him recognition and allegiance. All are without excuse in this regard.
2. All people resist acknowledging God.
3. Only by God's grace can we come to a positive awareness of God and a trust in him. Apart from his grace we must ignore him because his reality is terrible to us.

The voice of my conscience, yes.
God cannot lie. So no.Could it be that your theology is wrong?
When I experience my conscience, it is a feeling, not something internally audible like a mental voice.
When you experience your conscience, is it a voice or just a feeling?
