  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God consigns the unbelieving wicked to hell.
What about those that are simply unconvinced? Are they okay, or is it off to Hell with them as well?

And all the rapists, and serial killers, mass murderers? They'll be fine, as long as they believe in some manner?
The attitude you have is seen in a lot of people in prison. They blame the judge for their being there. They are loathe to take responsibility for their deeds and would rather blame anyone but themselves.
In another thread, you said "God is responsible for sending people to hell the same way a judge is responsible for sending a criminal to jail."

It is my understanding that the criminal justice system does try to establish that the accused can be held responsible for the crime for which they are charged. Would you agree?

Because an inexperienced eleven year old is capable of determining such things that many adults struggle with.

Someone so young basing a solidified worldview is on no other basis than arbitrary sustenance.

Well I thought really hard about it. I also spent the next 15 years or so questioning and examining my beliefs and the beliefs of others.

One of great things about truth is that it doesn't matter if it's discovered by an 11 year old with a lot of time on his hands or a 55 year old after a lifetime of reflection...it remains the truth regardless.

Being convinced of the central tenets of the Christian faith is not what gets someone into heaven. In other words, it is not a matter of being convinced or unconvinced.

No.
