• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Arminianism is untenable

Sorry you forgot; this is the topic of your own OP. Maybe you should read it again.

I did. The subject is the Arminian view of atonement. It's not a general thread on the atonement.

If you agree with my allegation, then there's no need for support. If you disagree with my allegation, then that's a good thing.

You have provided not a shred of evidence to support your allegation. No evidence means no evidence to defend your claim.:o

So are you saying I'm wrong?
Please provide the evidence so that I have a basis on which to assess your accusation. To this point no evidence has been provided by you. Until the evidence is supplied, you have provided no case to answer.

A judge would chuck your case out of court because of a lack of evidence.

This isn't a trial. I made an assertion. Do you disagree with my assertion?

I did. The subject is the Arminian view of atonement. It's not a general thread on the atonement.

Here are your exact words, in which 'punishment' is in the very first sentence; atonement isn't even mentioned.

Arminians insist that Jesus took the punishment for all sins. Yet, they admit that there are people in hell because of their sins. This makes God disingenuous because He punishes people for sins that His Son already paid for.

You say, and I quote, "Jesus took the punishment for all sins". What punishment do the Arminians insist Jesus took?

If you don't know the subject you are portraying, why even start a thread on it? Also, if you don't know the 'punishment' you push upon Arminians, you accuse Arminians of something which could be false.

So, let's have it, what 'punishment' do the Arminians insist Jesus paid for all sins?

Ask them. Don't derail this thread. I will not ask again.
