  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Irrefutable evidence of 4th Commandment support by pro-Sunday sources

 No biblical significance. If God sent a donkey said: "God say go this way". It would be equally God's word.

So true, but data can be manipulated to present questionable evidence as proof.

Again no actual fact dealing with the OP and no support for your failed accusations so far.

Where should we look to find out where Sabbath and the ten commandments were first given?
Even the majority of pro-sunday scholarship mentioned in the OP admit that Genesis 2:1-3, Ex 20:11, Is 66:23, Mark 2:27 point to the fact that the Sabbath Commandment was given to mankind in Eden and is still applicable to all mankind (even the saints) to this very day.

And of course the seventh day Sabbath keeping Christians on this board agree with them on that origin for the Sabbath Commandment just as the Bible states it.

Which means there is no way to spin-doctor this topic into "only SDAs notice that Bible detail" and I think we all know that.

Because on this thread - the details of the subject are what matter (whether those details agree with my POV or not) - but false accusations need not apply.

in Christ,

Bob

So, if God were to send you a donkey that said "Look, Bud, you're full of cow patties...the Ten Commandments are still valid to this day"...you'd believe him?

God talks to you like that?
That was a pretty low blow wasn't it?:redcard:
I had nothing but scriptures on my mind.

Num 22:23
And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.

Num 22:28
And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

I still think it's the message rather than the messenger.

Crib,
Donkeys can be very stubborn critters.
And I've said before....BOTH sides of this dang fool debate are full of cow patties...as I recall, YOU thought it was funny at the time.
I don't in the least mind being compared with Balaam's ass...you keep trying to make me go in a different direction...but I cannot do that. I have a message for both sides of this debate, and I cannot be moved until I have gotten it across...

Thou shalt obey the Lord's commandments

You don't have a chance against my scholar team.

Indeed God, Moses, Jesus, Paul all affirm "there ReMAINS therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God" in true "what matters is keeping the Commandments of God" 1Cor 7:19 fashion.

Even the majority of pro-Sunday scholarship admits to the Gen 2:1-3 Sabbath commandment given to all mankind in Eden and applicable to the saints today. (as we saw here #1 )

So it is not just Moses reporting that God did it in Ex 20:11 doing that.

It is not just Christ in Mark 2:27 doing that.

It is not just the Saturday Sabbath Commandment keeping people on this CF thread doing that.

It is the pro-sunday scholars themselves doing it.

Which is the point that this thread highlights for those who want to pretend that only SDAs notice this detail about Gen 2:1-3.

in Christ,

Bob

Thou shalt obey the Lord's commandments
Now you're being false witness to try to justify yourself...You know what I said was not about you. here is what I said in a response to the written with His finger claim #82
 No biblical significance. If God sent a donkey said: "God say go this way". It would be equally God's word.
How does that accuse you of being Balaam's ass?
What you're now exposing is, why what you said to me was personal, ...
So, if God were to send you a donkey that said "Look, Bud, you're full of cow patties...the Ten Commandments are still valid to this day"...you'd believe him?
Sending a donkey (to Moses implied)with instructions to move left or right, vs sending a donkey to me, saying: I'm full of it? Does that seem fair to you?

Now you want to justify your retaliation with a false witness that I compared you to Balaam's ass? That didn't happened nor did it cross my mind. In this situation; May God judge between you and me.

If this is your way of agreeing with my post above - then welcome.

certainly the pro-Sunday scholarship would agree with it as do the seventh day - Sabbath affirming Christians on this board.

Am I supposed to complain about that??

"The rest that REMAINS" according to:comeon: Paul in Heb4 is God's rest from creation. This proves that God's rest and the weekly Sabbath is not the same. The context says plainly, that those who got the first invite, did not enter because of unbelief. Now you chose to embellish and I don't expect a response to facts against your thread.

in true "what matters is keeping the Commandments of God" 1Cor 7:19 fashion.
Here we go again with your embellishments with keywords from isolated texts. Anyone who reads all of 1Cor 7 can know that:comeon: Paul was giving Godly and personal counsel about women issues that the Corinthian had questions about. So 'commandment of God' in this context is not your ten commandments. Why are you so desperate to mishandle God's word with no shame?
1Co 7:1 ¶Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1Co 7:6
But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

1Co 7:25
Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

I'm done chasing this nonsensical game because you wont concede to the scriptures that exposes your resolve.

I am the one making the comparison...me. Once again, you have misunderstood what I said...which is basically that I am as stubborn as an old mule...
I have a message, and I can't be moved.

Besides, I think Eeyore is cute as he can be. He's one of my favorite celebrities.

I'm not in the least offended. I still believe that the fact that the ten commandments were the only scripture we know of that was written by the hand of God Himself is significant. Not everyone agrees with me, and that's okay.

Either I am not coming across very well, or you are awfully easily offended for someone who "grew up New York thugstyle". Or maybe six of one and half a dozen of the other...

In any case, I am quite content to have God judge between us.
