How would we know what sort of stabilization system may have been on the ark?? You are guessing. Nye knows squat.

Just as God protected the three men in the fire ...

Daniel 3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

... God could have protected Noah and his family the same way.

Some believe ... as do I ... there were nine people on the Ark.

So... god did it? Alright, let's just ignore material science, statics and dynamics, fluid mechanics, and the history of technology and invoke the supernatural to explain away problems.

Whatever floats your boat.

So there was a flood:
But there's not enough water to cover the earth as described. "Magic!"
and there was no way for all the animals of the earth to get there that quickly, "Magic!"
and they wouldn't have fit "More Magic!"
and the ship wouldn't have been seaworthy "M-M-Magic!"
and even a seaworthy ship would have been smashed by the massive waves. "Still Magic!"
and they would have nothing to eat once they got off the ark. "Guess what?Magic!"
and there is more genetic diversity in existing animals than can be accounted for even if they did all survive "Maaaagic!"
and... "Magic!"
I didn't even finish.. "Magic!" "Magic!" "Magic!"
Are you even listening? "Magic!"

Exactly.

Do clams run away from flood waters? Do they swim up there?

Nope, they sink to the bottom. Plates then move slowly lifting and subducting regions creating new mountains out of what was once sea floor.
Um ... do you think clams just sat there while the earth was literally being flushed out with water?

"Sink to the bottom"? are you kidding me?

If anything, they flew through the air at one point.

And all this still hasn't gotten around to the comment that sparked this: that the storm being proposed by OldWiseGuy would be far greater than the storm that sunk the Wyoming. If the largest wooden ship ever, built using modern technologies with all the knowledge of the greatest shipwrights of the era using additional materials and technologies that Noah would not have had was sunk by a late-winter storm, how much of a chance would an ancient boat have had in a tsunami?

I proposed a rather gentle flood, not a tsunami, at least in the region of the ark. You are making the same mistake others have made, that is to change the flood model to one that supports your assumptions. Most notably you insist that the ark was an oversized 'ship'. It wasn't. It was a mammoth building capable of surviving the flood it was built for. In all probability Noah used some joinery methods that related to shipbuilding, but only to ensure that the structure was watertight.

See, while I don't have a problem with the concept of miracles, per se, I don't see why God would use them so inefficiently. Why would he go through all that directly interventionist micromanagement stuff when he could have, I don't know, just winked out everyone other than Noah and his family in an instant? Seems to be a lot more reasonable than the whole ark rigmarole, requiring special miracle after special miracle to make it work (none of which are mentioned in the Bible, I might add)

You mean with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, or the Ark?

Had God done it your way, then no one would have had a chance to repent as the waters rose.

No deathbed confessions.

Genesis 7:11a In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up,

I'll tell you what:

Go stand atop Old Faithful for awhile and see what happens.

Um... huh?

You don't think God is very expeditious. How are we any different? We gather together for a southern trip, then march off to the north. ^_^

There's a really good book called Forbidden Archeology by Michael Cremo. Also books by Dr. Robert M. Schoch, Ph.D "Forgotten Civilization: The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and Future."

I am not a scholar in this field but I have found there are highly questionable finds that have been suppressed in archeology etc. These books will go more into detail for you than I can give in one post.
I don't know much about Schock but I do know some about Cremo.

Cremo is Vedic creationist who believe that humans have lived on the earth for tens to hundreds of millions of years. He also believes that the scientific establishment has suppressed the fossil evidence of extreme human antiquity. He has not published in the peer reviewed literature but only in popular books. His proposals have not held up all that well and many scholars put him into the same catagory as Van Donikan of Chariots of the Gods fame.

That does not mean that he is wrong but does mean that strong caution should be used in evaluating his claims.

Do you have scriptural support for flying clams?

Flying clams can take a hike, err... take a flight.

I still want to know how the koalas got to Australia after they got of the Ark. Come up with a logically consistent explanation for that's also biblically consistent, I'll accept YEC as correct and evolution as false here and now.

I've found that a lot of geological and archeological studies have been suppressed due to agendas by the mainstream scientific world that would go against the commonly held beliefs. Scientists who present contradictory findings have actually been threatened and lost their 'papers' or status in the community. So, I highly suspect any and all studies until everything is investigated and backed up including the scientists themselves AND their funding sources.

What is your evidence to support this claim?
