In my view an ultra-dogmatic Darwinist- evolutionary- view AND ALSO an ultra-dogmatic literalist- view of "ALL" the scriptures and also our creation are both evidence of the "strong-delusion" that hinders mankind from understanding the character, nature and "eternal-vision" of our Father God in Heaven, and also of the Heavenly Host, of which our Creator hopes we will "all" be willing to be a part of someday in the eternity ahead of us all. [Any who would desire to be a disciple of Jesus as the Bereans were - should pray for "understanding" and then "wisdom" concerning 1Timothy 2:4 AND 2Peter 3:9]

A strong delusion occurs whenever ones "heart" is far removed from mentoring others with God's love, and His life strengthening prudence.
Or as "holy" scripture states, one has become non-empathetic and "hard-hearted" towards our Shekhinah Creator's efforts and plights in warring against "all" evils, ignorance, indolence, and fears to "destroy" the works of the devil in the earth, and also stiff-necked to not obey the "gentle" voice and leading of His Holy Spirit. Isaiah 29:13-14 - - Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the (demonic) doctrines-of-men: therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Isaiah 29 ESV - - The Siege of Jerusalem

Consider:

Deuteronomy 10:16 - - (16) Circumcise your hearts therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer . . . (19) And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

Acts 7:51 - -
You stiff-necked people! Your hearts . . .

Hi all,

I had previously posted the following excerpts and scriptures into another thread, and now here for good-hearted-souls to consider the many scriptural admonition's concerning how the ruthless and lawless Beelzebub has oftentimes “seduced” many, like Paul once was “seduced”, to fulfill >-- 2Peter 3:16.

<><> <><

A “strong delusion” occurs whenever ones “heart” is far removed from mentoring others to knowledgeably understand God's love, and His life strengthening prudence. [2Thessalonians 2:11]

Isaiah 29 ESV - The Siege of Jerusalem

<><> <><

The previous scripture above, Isaiah 29:13-14, was most obviously fulfilled in 70AD whenever the Jews were celebrating their “mandatory” feast days at Jerusalem “while” being surrounded by the Roman army.

The Jewish Nation's “corporate” blindness that led to 70AD historically took root after the Babylonian Captivity whenever some “religious” “legalistic” scribes were “allowed” to use various scriptures as their authoritative proof-texts without others effectively voicing themselves concerning how the character and nature of God was being portrayed via those proof-texts.

Our Heavenly Father had obviously “allowed” these wayward texts to be published as “tares” within the scriptures - simply to train His leaders-in-training, like Job again became, to learn to discern eternally holy doctrines that would promote God's holiness and love and vision for “all” of ones “neighbors” [+] from “demonic-doctrines-of-men” that do not.
[*]

And for His leaders-in-training, like Job again became, to then learn how to work in concert with His Holy Spirit to “reprove” any slanders that promoted the opposite of the truth about His unchanging and eternal vision, nature and character. [Two scriptural examples of “non-believing” religious leaders who were being “trained” in God's ways of “discernment” were the scribe in Mark 12:28-34 and Gamaliel in Acts 5:34-39.]

Whenever we look at the

maturing process within the lives and writings of Paul and Peter, we see that our loving Creator was continually without favoritism gently pruning, sifting, chastening and encouraging them until their final day.

When Paul was less “mature” in his ministry writings he wrote as is noted in this link to >-- Galatians 5:12 in ~AD48 that he had wished that any “Judaizers” who taught that the circumcision of one's flesh was necessary to obtain salvation in Jesus, would further “castrate” themselves.

As Paul “matured” beyond his earlier writings such as Galatians 5:12 in ~AD48 he then cogently discussed the chastening of the Lord in his writings below, that obviously helped him in his “maturing” process, even though from his further writings his personality obviously continued to be a fiery-one on various occasions.

Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect (mature) in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

<><> <><

Now let us consider the next excerpted statement from another post in light of the “obviousness” of our Shekhinah Father Creator's eternal-purity and infinite-love and patience towards His prodigal children, - -

{whose infinite love in past ages had “empowered” the heavenly host of angels to “build” the New Jerusalem that Abraham looked forward to seeing, and what we “all” might see someday as seen in the image “NewJerusalem ForTheSaints _gif.gif” that is attached to the post at this link to >-- Post #63 @ <>http:// www. christianforums. com/ t7756553-7/#post63771233<>} - -

VERSUS the “obviousness” of Beelzebub's cruel hatred to seduce or possess some to become perverse in order to cause their waywardness to kill themselves after a “horrible” time of “suffering”. This is what occurred with his prodigal “chosen” people in 70AD, and in our modern day also occurs with many sufferings for sexually-promiscuous-prodigals, and similar sufferings occurred more rampantly in ancient times throughout other “idolatrous” cultures who had never been taught the "wisdom" of their Creator's laws and ways and vision for us "all".

So that whenever someone or an entire culture becomes obliviously demonically-trained or possibly totally- demonically- possessed, then their Father God's infinite mercy is seen in Paul's teaching in - - 1Corinthians 5:5 - - that encourages - - To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be (eternally) saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

So that because of the destruction of their demon possessed flesh the following scriptures might then also be fulfilled for the sake of these persons and all others who they could have mentored with their “errs”.

NOW let us consider the next excerpted statement from a previous post that is likely identical as to how most Calvinistic theologians would teach others concerning our eternal Heavenly Father's vision for His “eternal” creations.

It's not hypocritical for God to tell us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44[+++]) while he hates his nonelect enemies (Romans 9:11-13[+]). For just as God as Creator has the right to create some people to be nonelect vessels of his wrath (Romans 9:20-22[++]) and other people to be elect vessels of his mercy (Romans 9:23[++]), so God as Creator has the right to hate the nonelect and love the elect (Romans 9:11-13[+]). Ultimately “all” of our “battles” against others in this life are never truly fought with flesh and blood. So the hope of this editor is that more Christians would be taught to resist the same demonic-evil-spirits of Beelzebub that possessed John Calvin in Geneva when he had Michael Servetus burnt at the stake for disagreeing with his demonically inspired doctrines.

Romans 5 (cf 1John 2:2) - all justified and made righteous

In Romans 5:18b, the original Greek word (pas, G3956) translated as "all" can be used in the sense of "all manner of" (e.g. Acts 10:12). Romans 5:18b doesn't mean absolutely all men are justified, for justification requires faith (Romans 5:1), and not all men have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:2). Instead, the principle of Romans 5:18b applies only to the elect (2 Timothy 2:10).

AJCServant said in post 203:

Romans 5 (cf 1John 2:2) - all justified and made righteous

Jesus' divine/human sacrifice was sufficient to forgive the sins of everyone (1 John 2:2). But it was performed in order to actually forgive the sins not of everyone (Romans 9:18-24) but of only the elect. For Jesus' sheep whom he died to save (John 10:11,14,15) are the elect (1 Peter 1:2; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 4:1), those who are able to believe in him (John 10:27), and who will believe in him at some point during their lifetime (Acts 13:48b), as opposed to the nonelect, who can't ever believe in him (John 8:42-47), because they aren't his sheep (John 10:26).

AJCServant said in post 203:

Romans 11:32 - all receive mercy

Romans 11:32 means only that all the elect (Romans 11:28) are shown mercy with regard to their initial salvation as individuals (Romans 9:11-24), not that all people will be shown mercy. For some people were created by God to be nonelect vessels of his wrath, who will never be shown mercy (Romans 9:11-22, Proverbs 16:4, Matthew 13:38-42, John 8:42-47).

AJCServant said in post 203:

1Cor 5:5 – destruction of their demon possessed flesh -
- so their spirit may be saved eternally

The sinful saved person in 1 Corinthians 5 hadn't lost his salvation, for salvation is ultimately lost due to sin only if a saved person refuses to repent from a sin (Hebrews 10:26-29; 1 Corinthians 9:27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10) until he dies (1 John 5:16) or Jesus returns (Luke 12:45-46). After the sinful saved person in 1 Corinthians 5 was punished by being cast out of the congregation (1 Corinthians 5:13), he repented from his sin while he was still alive, and so he was forgiven and restored to the congregation (2 Corinthians 2:6-10; 1 John 1:9).

Regarding "the destruction of the flesh" in 1 Corinthians 5:5, the original Greek word (olethros, G3639) translated as "destruction" can simply mean punishment. So the "destruction" of the sinful saved person's flesh by Satan can simply mean God as a chastening for unrepentance (Revelation 3:19) would allow that person's flesh to temporarily suffer in some way at the hands of Satan (cf. Luke 13:16). It doesn't require the person be killed by Satan (Job 2:6-7).

AJCServant said in post 203:

1Cor 15:22 - all made alive in Christ

1 Corinthians 15:22 doesn't assure a resurrection to eternal life, because people can be resurrected to damnation (John 5:29, Revelation 20:12-15).

AJCServant said in post 203:

1Cor 15:27 - all subject to him

1 Corinthians 15:27, like Philippians 2:10-11, doesn't say all will be saved. For while all will eventually be made subject to Christ, not all will be saved (Matthew 25:41,46, Matthew 13:38-42), but only a relatively few people (Matthew 7:14, Matthew 22:14) compared with all of humanity.

AJCServant said in post 203:

2Cor 5:19 - all reconciled

2 Corinthians 5:19 doesn't mean everyone in the world, for (again) not everyone will be reconciled to God (Matthew 25:41,46, Matthew 13:38-42), but only a relatively few people (Matthew 7:14, Matthew 22:14) compared with all of humanity.

AJCServant said in post 203:

Eph 1:9-10 - all gathered up in him

Ephesians 1:9-10 refers only to the ultimate gathering together of all things which will be "in Christ", not things which won't be in Christ (e.g. Matthew 25:41,46, Matthew 13:38-42).

AJCServant said in post 203:

Phil 2:10-11 - all will worship him

See 1 Corinthians 15:27 above.

AJCServant said in post 203:

Col 1:20 - all reconciled in Christ

See the last section of post 169.

AJCServant said in post 203:

1Tim 2:4 - salvation of all desired . . .

1Tim 2:6 - Christ was ransomed for all . . .

1Tim 4:10 - Christ was savior of all -

1 Timothy 2:4,6, like 1 Timothy 4:10b, means God will have all manner of people believe in Jesus and be saved (Revelation 5:9b), not absolutely all people (Romans 9:11-24), just as, for example, John 3:26c means all manner of people came to Jesus during his first-coming earthly ministry, not absolutely all people. The original Greek word (pas, G3956) translated as "all" can simply mean "all manner of" (e.g. Acts 10:12). It doesn't have to mean absolutely all.

1 Timothy 2:4,6 and 1 Timothy 4:10b don't mean absolutely all people can believe in Jesus. For other verses show that some people (the nonelect) can't (John 6:65, John 8:42-47, John 10:26, Matthew 13:38-42). Also, 1 Timothy 2:4,6 and 1 Timothy 4:10b don't mean absolutely all people will be saved, for other verses show that most people won't be (Matthew 25:41,46, Matthew 13:38-42, Matthew 7:14, Matthew 22:14).

Hi all,

It would appear that for the present we each have a different focus for our life-efforts that we each have likely been “encouraged” to pursue by our various past and present “teachers”.

Some theologians, such as Calvin, have taught their followers to not strive to maintain a supernatural personal and powerful “relationship” with our Creator's Holy Spirit, and that also we should lethargically and fatalistically “wait” for our Creator's “supposedly” “unchangeable” “preordained” apocalyptic- punishment- judgments, as if these judgments would be impossible for the Church of Jesus to stand-in-the-gap against them; even though as has been written in Revelation 9:18 the “present” god of this world, Beelzebub, has now empowered mankind with the potential to burn-up 1/3 rd of our Creator's impoverished children.

My own Holy teachers have taught me that “all things are possible” for any situation and for every culture, no matter how many of Beelzebub's hordes would want to see that culture burnt-up, IF-ONLY the converted believers within that culture would strive to - follow the prophetic admonitions that “promise” that all potential judgments can be repented-of, AND IF-ONLY these converted believers would subsequently strive to - work in concert with Jesus' ongoing efforts to destroy the works of the Devil, Beelzebub, as encouraged in 1 John 3:8.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. - - 1 John 3:8

The following scriptures would apply to “all” of us in our “perilous” “last-days” generation.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure. - - Psalm 122:6

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” - - Mark 9:23

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. - - John 3:17

And Ezekiel, (who was “less” than any person who would be within the Kingdom of Heaven, [as Jesus taught in Matthew 11:11]), opined during his day:

Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people’s lives for money! And your prophets cover up for them by announcing false visions and making lying predictions. They say, ‘My message is from the Sovereign Lord,’ when the Lord hasn’t spoken a single word to them. Even common people oppress the poor, rob the needy, and deprive foreigners of justice. - - Ezekiel 22:27-31

AND speaking for God he wrote about himself as well as all others in his country when he wrote:

“I looked for some who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. So now I will pour out my fury on them, consuming them with the fire of my anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” - - Ezekiel 22:27-31

Scripture is plain that what believing disciples need to “recruit” and "mentor", i.e. "disciple", via our life efforts are more "converting" "believers" who would be like Paul and Peter and Jesus in standing against “doctrines-of-men” for what they are, i.e. "tares" via the scriptures, that hinder the building-up, i.e. "strengthening", of the courage and virtuousness within Jesus' inheritances.

This is the reason why Revelation 21 was written exactly as it has been written in order to en-courage “daily-converting” believers to be better “mentoring” disciples, who would then strive to help other faithful men to daily-convert and disciple their own selves as well.

Ultimately whenever we would fail ourselves or others in the eternity ahead, Jesus will eternally be our good shepherd, who will eternally be watching over us amongst the much more disciplined Heavenly Host, since in comparison for ages to come we will oftentimes be similar to stupid fearful and inept sheep.

While mankind is still here on the earth our Creator God “will-be” glorified in spite of Beelzebub's wiles, and Jesus has made the way for anyone to glorify His father through a simple acceptance of His Lordship and by simply becoming a member of Jesus' flock of sheep in order to have eternal life in Heaven, even if receiving Jesus as Lord on one's final day occurred in a similar manner as the thief on the cross, or in the powerfully persuasive way as occurred with Paul when he was struck blind on the road to Damascus. The thief on the cross was a prodigal son that was accepted back into His Creator's household on his final day, although his relationship- inheritances- earned- rewards in Heaven were possibly fairly meager, except for his testimony while on his cross that was written into the scriptures.

As written in Revelation 21:8 there will be no immorality or debauchery in Heaven because no one will be “tempted” in our thoughts by Beelzebub's minions as we “all” have oftentimes been tempted in the earth. And there will be no non-virtuous cowards there because Beelzebub's fears will not tempt anyone there, and we will “all” have eternal life and will continually be encouraged by God's joyful presence to pursue the prudence and virtue that comes with that form of life in order to work fruitfully alongside Jesus and His Heavenly Host of ancient angels.

Revelation 21:8 was “allowed” into the scriptures not so that “religious” people would promote scornful bigotries against prodigal self-destructive sinners, but to encourage Saints and prodigals alike to make the right choices, so that they would not be ashamed when they would see Jesus on their final day, (as Paul and the thief on the cross once were ashamed of their past life), at which time Beelzebub would no longer have influence over their life in the flesh.

For all of mankind, past present and future, accepting Jesus' love for them has always been and will always be how easy it will ever be to enter into His Kingdom. [+] Just at your final moments say “yes Jesus, please be my Lord and Savior and now that my eyes can finally see you face to face I will follow wherever you ask me to go,” and then follow the Master homeward or go with one of His angels when they come for you, and one's final choice will then glorify God with their passing upward to the dwellings Jesus and His Heavenly Host had begun building for us “all” from before the foundations of the earth.

[+: Matthew 20:12 - - ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’]

So that with this “eternally” fruitful theology now being highlighted via this thread concerning our Shekhinah Creator's obvious infinite love for us all from His eternity past into our eternity future, rather than debating on-on-one any subtly flawed nuances in each others posts, what would be much more fruitful in “helping” Jesus and the Holy Spirit to stand against doctrines-of-men, would be by writing your own views into website threads that would fulfill James 3:17 [+] by being easy to be received by others, without being “disrespectful” towards others.

[+: James 3:17 - - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be received, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.]

Ultimately at the end of our days let us each have trusted in Jesus for our individual eternal salvation, and then for today may we continually strive to resist evil in all of its forms that we may ever see in our lives, so we each might become more abundantly fruitful in building up Jesus' inheritances within the earth.

We are all in training to be a little more like Jesus every day, one day and one step at a time.

"Why" Revelation was written during Nero's reign before 70AD

A narrative by a “Tentmaker” with the help of friends

John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
.

. . .

Scripture teaches that Jesus is continually praying throughout His leadership's siftings and chastenings, in order that they would be taught the importance of continually converting and mentoring others to pursue loving-holiness towards “all” while simultaneously resisting all evil, “if” they would pray to remain one of His chosen ambassadors into the eternity ahead of them. Because of the Savior's prayers His mighty angels are continuously fulfilling
2Chronicles 16:9 without any favoritism within any culture or lineage, until “all” of His children would have matured and 1Corinthians 13:8-10 and Revelation 21 would be fulfilled and seen in the earth.

The results of Jesus' prayerful efforts would be that His children would have learned to work in concert with His Spirit to bring forth a best-case fulfillment of all apocalyptic “prophetic-scripture”, i.e. a best-case fulfillment of the Greek word katargeō in 1Corinthians 13:8, e.g. katargeō concerning Isaiah 17, Nahum 1:1&15c, Zephaniah 1:2,18c and 2:9. All the while the evil one, the devil Beelzebub, works to bring forth a worst-case fulfillment of all “prophetic-scripture", by using the blasphemies, slanders, self-righteous bigotries, and Laodicean lethargy that all doctrines-of-men continually promote, whenever some wayward teachers have blindly used the Holy scriptures to multiply their sins towards God. As Paul was duped to do prior to his seeing Christ Jesus, and immediately he became a converted-universalist.

. . .

Leviticus 19:17-18 - - Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

Matthew 18:3 - -
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 11:25 - -
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Luke 10:21 - -
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

John 14:15 - - If ye love me, keep my commandments
.

John 14:23-24 - -
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

John 15:14 - -
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Matthew 28:19-20 - - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations
, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. - - John 3:17

Amen.

John 3:17a means God didn't send Jesus into the world to condemn the world before Jesus' 2nd coming, when Jesus will condemn the world (Revelation 19:11-21; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, Luke 12:49). Also, even some saved people at the judgment of the church by Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 2:6-8, Luke 12:45-48, Matthew 25:19-30) at his 2nd coming (Psalms 50:3-5, cf. Mark 13:27) will lose their salvation because of such things as unrepentant sin (Luke 12:45-46, Hebrews 10:26-29; 1 Corinthians 9:27), unrepentant laziness (Matthew 25:26,30, John 15:2a, Romans 2:6-8), or apostasy (Mark 8:35-38, Hebrews 6:4-8; 2 Timothy 2:12b). That's why saved people know the "terror" of the coming judgment of the church by Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:10-11), why they must remain in fear of being cut off the same as unbelievers if they don't continue in God's goodness (Romans 11:20-22, Luke 12:45-46), why they must be careful to work out their own ultimate salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12b; 1 Peter 1:17, Romans 2:6-8).

John 3:17b doesn't require God sent Jesus into the world to save everyone in the world, just as saying someone has come to save TV wouldn't require he has come to save every show on TV. In the Bible, "the world" doesn't have to mean everyone in the world. Just as "the world" in John 15:18 and John 16:8-9,20 doesn't include believers, so "the world" in John 3:16 doesn't include the nonelect (Romans 9:11-22). And in the case of, for example, John 18:20, it doesn't include the vast majority of the earth's inhabitants at that time, who didn't hear Jesus speak to them during his preaching before his arrest.

So that with this “eternally” fruitful theology now being highlighted via this thread concerning our Shekhinah Creator's obvious infinite love for us all . . .

Do you mean all us humans? If so, note that God doesn't love everyone: he hates the nonelect (Romans 9:11-22). During their lifetime, God hardens the nonelect in their sinfulness instead of showing them his mercy (Romans 9:18), because he created them to be vessels of his wrath (Romans 9:20-22, Proverbs 16:4). They were of old ordained to condemnation (Jude 1:4). They were appointed to disobedience (1 Peter 2:8, Acts 2:23). But God never forces them or anyone else to commit sin. He never even tempts anyone to commit sin (James 1:13-15). All people will justly be held accountable for their deeds (Romans 2:6-8), for neither election nor nonelection takes away the free will of people.

God created nonelect people to be vessels of his wrath instead of vessels of his mercy so he might eternally make known his wrath and power (Romans 9:21-22, Proverbs 16:4, Revelation 14:10-11). And God created elect people to be vessels of his mercy so he might eternally make known his mercy, glory, and wisdom (Romans 9:23, Ephesians 3:10, Ephesians 1:8,11).

God wants these aspects of his nature to be made known to both humans and angels (Ephesians 3:10), neither of which group yet knows experientially the full extent of God's qualities and abilities (1 Corinthians 2:9; 1 Peter 1:12b). For example, the full extent of God's wrath won't be known to humans and angels until Satan and his fallen angels and all of unsaved humanity are cast into the eternal suffering of the lake of fire and brimstone (Matthew 25:41,46, Revelation 20:10,15, Revelation 14:10-11), and saved humans and holy angels go forth from the city of New Jerusalem on the new earth to witness the suffering of the unsaved in the lake of fire (Isaiah 66:24), the eternal hell (Mark 9:45-46), and realize by seeing it not only the extent of God's wrath, but by it, by way of contrast, the extent of God's mercy toward them (Lamentations 3:22-23). Just as "up" can't be eternally known for what it is without the eternal coexistence of "down", so God's mercy can't be eternally known for what it is without the eternal coexistence of his wrath.

The results of Jesus' prayerful efforts would be that His children would have learned to work in concert with His Spirit to bring forth a best-case fulfillment of all apocalyptic “prophetic-scripture”, i.e. a best-case fulfillment of the Greek word katargeo in 1Corinthians 13:8, e.g. katargeo concerning Isaiah 17, Nahum 1:1&15c, Zephaniah 1:2,18c and 2:9.

1 Corinthians 13:8 doesn't mean any prophecy in Revelation will fail to come to pass, for it must all come to pass (Revelation 1:1-3, Revelation 4:1, Revelation 22:6). Instead, 1 Corinthians 13:8 is referring to the future cessation of the Spiritual gift of prophecy, which gift is referred to in the context (1 Corinthians 13:2,9, 1 Corinthians 12:10,11,28).

In 1 Corinthians 13:8, in the original Greek the difference in the "voice" of the verbs relates to the difference in how the Spiritual gifts of prophecy, tongues and the word of knowledge operate. The cessation of prophetic messages and words of knowledge is in the passive voice because it will be God who will cause prophetic messages and words of knowledge to cease at Jesus' 2nd coming (1 Corinthians 13:8-12). For when people receive the gift of prophecy or the word of knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:8,10) they still have to wait passively for God to give them prophetic messages or words of knowledge to speak forth (1 Corinthians 14:30-31). The cessation of tongues is in the middle voice because it will be tongues-speakers who will cease speaking in tongues on their own accord at the 2nd coming (1 Corinthians 13:8-12). For when a person receives the gift of a tongue, he usually receives a prayer (1 Corinthians 14:2,14) and it's usually a set prayer (like how the Lord's prayer is a set prayer) which the tongues-speaker can pray or not pray on his own accord (1 Corinthians 14:27-28) whenever he wants.

Regarding Isaiah 17, Damascus is said to be the oldest continually-inhabited city on the earth. But it could be nuked by Israel during a future all-out war (Isaiah 17:1). Yet this war will also break the power of Israel (Isaiah 17:4).

Regarding Nahum, he prophesied the fall of ancient Assyria with the sack of its capital Nineveh in 612 BC.

Regarding Zephaniah, he prophesied the destruction of the land of ancient Judah and neighboring countries by the Babylonians in the 6th century BC.

AJCServant said in post 208:

As Paul was duped to do prior to his seeing Christ Jesus, and immediately he became a converted-universalist.

Paul the apostle never taught universal salvation, because he knew that not everyone will be saved (Matthew 25:41,46, Matthew 13:38-42), but only a relatively few people (Matthew 7:14, Matthew 22:14) compared with all of humanity.

AJCServant said in post 208:

Matthew 28:19-20 - - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Amen.

While the gospel of salvation is preached to everyone (Mark 16:15), nonelect people can't be saved, for they can't believe in Jesus (John 8:42-47, John 10:26).

The elect are those individuals who were chosen (elected) and predestinated by God before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13), before they were born (Romans 9:11-24), to become initially saved by faith at some point during their lifetime (Acts 13:48b). This initial salvation is possible only because of Jesus' sacrifice (Romans 3:25-26), which was also foreordained by God before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8; 1 Peter 1:19-20).

Everyone on his own is wholly corrupt (Romans 3:9-12), and so it's impossible for people on their own to ever believe in Jesus and the gospel and be initially saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, John 20:31; 1 John 5:13) through their own will (Romans 9:16, John 1:13, John 6:65) or their own intellect (1 Corinthians 1:18 to 2:16). Unsaved people can't understand the gospel (1 Corinthians 2:14; 1 Corinthians 1:18) because only initially saved people, who have received the miraculous gift of some measure of God's own Spirit, can understand it (1 Corinthians 2:11-16).

The nonelect can't ever believe in Jesus and the gospel and be initially saved, even when they're shown the truth (John 8:42-47, John 10:26, Matthew 13:38-42), because the ability to believe in Jesus and the gospel comes only to the elect (Acts 13:48b) wholly by God's grace as a miraculous gift from God (Ephesians 2:8, John 6:65; 1 Corinthians 3:5b, Romans 12:3b, Hebrews 12:2) as the elect read (or hear) God's Word the Bible (Romans 10:17, Acts 13:48, Acts 26:22-23), just as the ability to repent comes only as a miraculous gift from God (2 Timothy 2:25, Acts 11:18). Satan blinds the minds of unbelievers so that on their own they can't repent and acknowledge the truth of God's Word (2 Corinthians 4:4; 2 Timothy 2:25-26).

AJCServant said in post 208:

Titus 2:13 - - Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious (i.e. fruitful) appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen.

The blessed hope (Titus 2:13) is the hope of eternal life: "In hope of eternal life" (Titus 1:2), "that blessed hope" (Titus 2:13), "the hope of eternal life" (Titus 3:7), by which is meant the hope of obtaining an immortal physical resurrection body (Romans 8:23-25, Philippians 3:21, Luke 24:39) at Jesus' 2nd coming (1 Corinthians 15:21-23,51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6), which won't occur until immediately after the future tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 (Matthew 24:29-31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6). Also, Jesus himself is the hope of believers (1 Timothy 1:1b), for he himself is eternal life (John 14:6) and only by believing in him can people have eternal life (John 3:36).

Hi all,

Without the Holy Spirit's guidance the above noted verses in “The Book of Matthew” and also some within the other three gospels would “appear” to be “contrary” to Paul's writings given previously and again posted below. 1 Timothy 4:10 - - For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Compare the “tone” of the previous verses by a holy Paul to the “tone” of the following verses written by the holy John and Peter:

cf 1 John 2:2 - - And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. AND 2 Peter 3:9 - - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

And compare Paul's writings to the Ephesians with Peter's writings that are both given as follows

:

Ephesians 4:8 - - Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

1 Peter 3:18-22 - - 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but “quickened” by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure where-unto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

<><> <><

<><> <><

In my own literalist writer-editor's viewpoint - the above scriptures were written to encourage an open-door of the “potential” for universal-salvation towards “all” those who may need some hope in their daily battles within their flesh, which for “all” of us are battles against Beelzebub's many many seductions, oppressions, depressions and possessions.

James 4:7 teaches us all, "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee."

So I post again below the question that I posted earlier so that some would post their own research concerning “any” of "Paul's" writings that would similarly-obviously promote a

message of a “limited” "eternal" salvation towards any of mankind, who we all since Adam and Eve have been born into this fallen world to eventually become one of Jesus' lost “sheep” at one time or another, or from another view we are also born to become one of His Father's prodigal “children” at one time or another.

<><> <><

Although “I” have been taught by Jesus' Holy Spirit to never teach anyone at any time that foreordained predestined “universalism” is a doctrine from God, since it is obviously a demonic-doctrine-of-men that would promote an unholiness amongst any who would believe it, [*+] and since all the eternal-spirits, such as ourselves, will always continually and eternally have a free-will whether to forgive God and others and themselves and to then accept Jesus as their Lord or not; [*++] yet are there "any" scriptures that “Paul” wrote that do NOT imply that God's hope would be for His Church to promote a universalist-vision towards “all” sinners?

Note: a semi-universalist view by some who were not greater than John the Baptist [+] is found in [*+: Isaiah 14:20 & Ezekiel 28:18-19 ] and also for our own eternal-salvation this action is "required" via [*++: Matthew 18:34-35 ] Additional side-note about anyone who after the cross has entered into the "Kingdom of God": [+: Matthew 11:11 and Luke 7:28]

<><> <><

We are all in training to be a little more like Jesus every day, one day and one step at a time.

Again, thank you everyone for your posts and prayers. I continually pray they all will eventually become eternally fruitful towards everyone who might someday be like the Bereans who would read this thread and would “consider” the truths therein.

Shalom in Jesus,

You may love “Revelation Song” but what do the lyrics mean?

<><> <><

To try and sway some of those who are obviously the “most” hard-hearted and therefore arrogant-prideful and unfruitful amongst these threads I have oftentimes posted the phrase:

The word Holy has been defined by God throughout the Holy scriptures as, "set apart for service" to “all” of "mankind" and without "favoritism" no matter what ones present theology might be.

Our Creator God is continually Holy to accomplish the end result that the following scripture [+] would be fulfilled without "favoritism" amongst all the peoples of the earth in our fallen world, in order that the devil's works would be “destroyed” as encouraged in 1John 3:8.

[+: 2Chronicles 16:9 - -
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.]

Ones "perfected" theology is not the motivator for our Creator God to support someones life-efforts, it is their blameless heart that is seeking to please Him and do His will above all else - that He is always choosing to support.

So that ultimately the “fear-of-the-Lord” NOT choosing to “strongly” support someone when one's heart would NOT remain blameless is what produces the wisdom in many of His converted ambassadors to continually pursue loving Holiness towards "all" of mankind, and so they might be "chosen" to become His joint-heirs in the age to come.

<><> <><

With these thoughts in mind the following is a post and a link to a video that I pray would bless some of us here in these threads as we prepare our hearts and minds and bodies and our surrounding cultures for Jesus to soon return.

Titus 2:13 - -
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious (i.e. fruitful) appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:10&18 - -
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. . . . Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless ones and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

The Story Behind the Most Popular Worship Song Ever

You love Kari Jobe’s “Revelation Song,” but what do the lyrics mean?

Link to: <> Kari Jobe - Revelation Song - Passion 2013 – YouTube <>

“And one cried unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. ” - - Isaiah 6:3 (KJV)

“ . . . You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.” - - Leviticus 19:2 (ESV)

Reflection: That’s a tall order for we mortals who are far from holy! Yet the Lord of all creation longs for his people to be holy, as he is holy. Ever since he called the nation of Israel into being, he desired his chosen ones to be a holy, sanctified, separate people. And like the early Israelites, we as the contemporary church struggle with the overwhelming pull of the world to be like the world in our attitudes, actions and appearance.

So how do we attain holiness? I think part of the answer lies in Romans 12:1–2 (NIV),
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God … Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind …”

We renew our minds by filling them with things of the Lord, not things of the world. The more we “practice” the presence of Christ—listening, waiting, reading, praying—the more we want to be like him! We begin to desire holiness. It’s an act of the will and an attitude of the heart that affect our outward actions. Soon that controversial book doesn’t seem so compelling. That questionable movie loses its appeal. We seek to please the One we love.

The Prophet Isaiah became “undone” while in the presence of the Lord’s holiness. This reverence and repentance (Isaiah 6:3-5) progressed to his forgiveness and commission (Isaiah 6:6-9).

May the rest of us be so blessed.

PS - Most seekers would encourage the view that the best evangelism efforts use the KIS methodology, i.e. Keep It Simple so that the following would be fulfilled to the uttermost.
