Is it wrong to gather for worship on Sunday?

Getting together on Sunday is not wrong, in of itself, that's why people have such a hard time seeing anything wrong with it but God calls us to remember to keep the seventh day holy, "Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." Gathering together is always a good thing but when we lay aside a commandment of God in the process for a man made tradition it becomes a problem. Notice how, laying aside a commandment of God for man's tradition, was an issue for Jesus.

Mark 7:9-13
Jesus said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban” (that is, a gift to God), then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother, making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

Sunday observance is a tradition of man and has replaced the seventh day.

"Sunday is founded, not of scripture,
but on tradition, and is distinctly a Catholic institution. As there is no scripture for the transfer of the day of rest from the last to the first day of the week, Protestants ought to keep their Sabbath on Saturday and thus leave Catholics in full possession of Sunday." Catholic Record, September 17, 1893.

Acts 5:29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “
We must obey God rather than men".

Matthew 15:9 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

Mark 7:7 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men

Lets start out by clarifying your cherry picking of scripture

Acts 5:26-30

New King James Version (NKJV)

26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”
29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

-They were on trial for another issue, so stop picking one verse to fit your argument.

Matthew 15 and Mark 7 are about the Pharisees trying to judge the apostles trying to judge the apostles for not doing the ceremonial traditions the Pharisees created of ceremonial hand washing before you eat. Jesus went on to tell why do they uphold the traditions of men and put aside the commands of God and gave them examples of how they break the commands of God on different occasions and told the apostles that eating with unwashed hands doesnt make you unclean.

STOP using Matthew 15 and Mark 7 out of context to fix your ridiculous Sabbatarian argument.

Yes you are correct that Sunday is a tradition that came from Rome even before Constantine, because all the 1st century Christian writings show that they were worshiping on Sunday, but most of those were probably form Rome. We worship God everyday and Sunday is no different, so it doesnt make a difference if we go to church on Saturday or Sunday, because to be honest they were more than likely keeping the Sabbath as a day of rest and worshiping on Sunday morning after Jesus death..

I think the question you have been trying to pose in all the threads you have created is WHAT ARE CHRISTIANS DOING WITH THE SATURDAY, SINCE THAT IS THE SABBATH DAY OF REST?

This change to God's will came with much persecution, torture and death. This is surely a testimony that it is not of God.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was angry at the woman and declared war against the rest of her children—all who keep God’s commandments and maintain their testimony for Jesus.

You mix disparate nouns with no regard for them, and from this foundation of confusion you elaborate on yet more confusion. And no, God does not call on His adopted children to leave His rest and revert to the periodic shadow. In another thread you pointed out how the sons of Aaron displeased God in their action "which He had not commanded them" (Leviticus 10:1). And yet you do as they did!

A wicked person without God and without hope in the world needs a Law on stone with its threat of punishment to bring them to obey God. But we, who are born of God and love God, understand the meanings of words. God called the seventh day holy, blessed and sanctified. These words have meaning to God and instill value to the seventh day. We, as God's children, need no Law to see the sacredness and uniqueness of the seventh day of creation. Now go and honor that which God called holy and blessed.

Allow me to use the vernacular you may recognize within the confines of your perspective.

Christians of faith have been given the seventh day, and embrace it.
Those who live in a state "before faith came" (Galatians 3:23) embrace the sabbath instead.

Does this vernacular communicate the problem in your previous post better to you?

Why obey the commandments of God without faith?

Romans 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

The commandments of God are contrary to the natural mind so one must walk by faith and not by the sinful nature.

Romans 8:6-8 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

When we walk by faith we will uphold the Law, not do away with it.

Romans 3:31 Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Do you lie, kill, rape, steal, worship other gods, use God's name in vain and so on? Why not? Are you under the Law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Or do you love God and see value in God's way of living?

Only those who have been born of God see value in living as God calls us to live.

1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

You selected a long way of answering "no" to a question that implied a yes or no answer. Then you do yourself a disservice by quoting Romans 3:31 and rejecting it. You do write weird posts.

Maybe you would like to explain why you live in a state of "before faith came" and reject the seventh day. Granted, your explanation wouldn't matter to a Christian of faith, so you may be wasting your time.

Does our faith now do away with the commandments of God? No way! Before faith all we had was the Law on stone and it's punishment to motivate us and we messed that up to. Now we have faith and understand the spirit or purpose of the Law. In this we obey the Law because we value it and understand the principles that it teaches.

Yes we should obey God over man and Christians do obey God over man and yes Jesus, Paul and all the apostles still kept the Sabbath after Jesus death along with the 7 Biblical feast days. The problem with Christiainity is that is is so programed to the point, if you question anything, the automatic response is that was for the Jews or Im not under the law. S0when you pose a Sabbath question that is what you will get.

But in regards to the Sabbath, if Christians have been worshiping on Sunday for close to 1900yrs now, if it was that bad, dont you think God would have wiped out or sent some terrible plaque on Christians by now? Look what happened to people that broke the Sabbath in the past and what God did to them. This is why im convinced that Sunday worship is not that bad because if it and Christians were worshiping a idol sun god, Yahweh himself would have destroyed them by now.

And there you go again with the ridiculous taking scripture out of context to make your argument. The verse in Revelation is referring to the time of the tribulations and what they are going through , not this current generation, so you cant pick something referring to the future and try to apply it to now.

Yes, you're abusing these scriptures for your private teaching.

Luke 24th chapter, from first to last verse, covers what happened on the first Sunday when Jesus roses from the dead.
It's biblical tradition that shows that the disciples gathered on the first day of the week.
It's also biblical tradition that proves praising and blessing God was never limited to the Sabbath.

Luk 24:52
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
Luk 24:53
And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Oh, come on - you already showed that you have no interest in the commandments of God. You replaced them with the covenant from Mount Sinai, and don't seem to know what they are.

Anyway, if you reviewed your posts you would discover that you argued in a circle right back to where you began. You never did address the reason you mix disparate nouns and reject the seventh day. Circular reasoning describes your thought process, and you never answered anything asked of you.

I don't intend to follow the circular reasoning anymore; I thought I made that clear. Why not answer the original post, and explain why one would want to invite God's wrath on himself? You have yet to offer a reason anyone would want to follow your example. Even your opening comments invoke rememberance of Romans 3:8 and its warning "their condemnation is just".

It should be noted this took place on Sunday or the first day of the week. There isn't one shred of evidence Jesus did anything on the 7th day after the resurrection with anyone. Now remember the Sabbath is ordered by God and the SDA say that Jesus issued the command. Why isn't anything after the resurrection mentioned with God (Jesus) on the Sabbath? Forty days would include five 7th days at a minimum.

Denial is not a defense. The new birth and a cleansed heart will instill a love and delight for the Law, not a rejection of it. Psalm 119, Romans 7:22.

Honoring the fourth commandment is in itself an act of worship just like refusing to worship other gods, refusing to lie, steal, kill and so on.

I'm still waiting for your answer.

I really don't have to answer the never ending questions by people who don't want the truth when all they have to do is go back to my old replies and find the answers. Nor do I have to answer questions that contradict the word of God. I know the plan of God for His people. I know which law he writes on the heart and minds of his people. I know you must enjoy sexual relationships so why don't you go out and enjoy it with every available girl out there? Why abstain from things you enjoy? Are you under the law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Are you trying to be justified by your works?
