Have you ever stolen anything, no matter how small?
A few small things when I was little. Do you have a point?
I am getting to the point.
Have you ever lusted after a woman?
Na I'm not interested in this anymore, have fun proving that people have to be perfect to be good.
That's just the point. You judge "goodness" by mans standard. God's standard of righteousness is the 10 commandments. You have admitted to falling short on two of them. If God were to judge you today, keeping in mind none of us is guaranteed his next breath, I think you know where Gods word says you would go. The 10 commandments were not given as a means of salvation, but to point out your need of a savior, to point you to Jesus Christ, who loved you so much that He died on the cross taking the penalty for your sins and mine.
If my standards are wrong then the guy who wrote that might have just as easily had God's standards wrong (if there is a God).
So, I'll let God say for himself what he thinks.
La religione deve lasciare che dio parli per se stesso
Religion must let God speak for himself
God has spoken for Himself, through the Person of Jesus Christ and in His inspired word, The Bible.
Well some simple logic should give you my position on that one.
As per my original post that you reacted to, I think the Bible is an example of humans wishing to enforce their view of morality, the basic moral impulse.
I don't know what God thinks about human morality, so, Ill leave it to him to explain.
Given your rejection of God coming in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and speaking for Himself, which appears to be your standard of proof given the quote in your signature line, what bar are you raising your standard of proof to now that this standard has been met?

Sorry, I wasn't there.
It's not really the kind of thing I would believe second hand. I want God to speak for himself and only that.
If we start accepting books as written down "god speaking" then I have a bunch of religions I have to belong to.
How do you exactly determine that God's standard (exclusively and comprehensively) is the ten commandments? I remember the New Testament involving allusions to some of these commandments, but I don't remember reading, "the ten commandments in this specific place in the book of Exodus summarize what God wants you to do law-wise."
You will see Him face to face on judgement day, but then it will be too late for you.

I think he likes his own (human-related) interpretation even more than shrimp. So much for disdain towards the idea of "man's standard".
