  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Lord's day.

The Lord' s day is Sunday.

  • There is biblical evidence that Sunday is the Lord's day.

  • There is no biblical evidence that Sunday is the Lord's day.

  • I don't care if Sunday is the Lord's day or not.

Did some one here proclaim Sunday as a holy day?
Did you not see it? If you call it the Lord's day how else can you view it? If indeed it is not and can not be considered a holy day then no reason can be given for replacing Sabbath. There then remains only one day for consideration. Sabbath.

Hi.
I don't know who you intend to respond to, but I couldn't help but notice that your argument depends on re-writing Scripture to say something completely foreign to what the inspired author penned.
So of course it isn't worth consideration.
Bye.
VictorC, you can run but you can't hide. Paul: Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Now is there a contradiction in scripture or do your concepts contradict scripture?

Not one word you wrote has any Biblical support, and it is contradictory to what Romans 7 says. Like you did with Galatians, you simply rejected Scripture and hope your conjecture is an acceptable replacement. Your comment about "keeping of the Law" shows that you didn't even read what I had posted:

Not only is your answer wrong when compared with Scripture, but you haven't defended your opinion when this was pointed out in a post.
The crunching sound on the floor is where your theology remains broken, and you've made no effort to repair it.
It is arguments like your that lead person to say that the bible is full of contradictions. Now you would insist that the ten commandments has been removed. But you will answer yes to the following christian principles: (that can't be if there is no commandments for christians to obey, you make the contradiction and a stumbling block for many)
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Honour thy father and thy mother: .
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
How should the christian live if not by these, I know leave out the last.

We were as Christian's not under the Mosaic Law which was given to the Israelites but were now under the Law of Christ which was to show Love for everyone, even our enemies so all the principles were in place but not, the written law, it was now a Spiritual Nation being gathered in.

We also as Christian's were to enter into God's Rest which meant we would put of all works of the flesh 7 days a week, the Sabbath Day that the Israelites kept was not required to be recognized by Christian's, look at the fruits of the spirits in Galatians no Law is against Love etc.

VictorC, you can run but you can't hide. Paul: Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Now is there a contradiction in scripture or do your concepts contradict scripture?

Let's review your track record, and see who is running and hoping to hide, shall we?
  • You openly called Galatians 4 a 'lie'.
  • You plainly contradicted Romans 7....
  • After appealing to Romans 7 in an effort to support your thesis that Galatians 4 is a 'lie' by hoping to show Romans 7 contradicted Galatians 4.
Your entire premise is based on arguing that the Bible is contradictory. Trying to turn this observation into a personal attack on others is bearing false witness. I have no trouble seeing this - do you really think God is less capable than I am?

Now you're hoping that Romans 7 and Galatians 4 will simply go away because one lonely verse - Romans 3:31 - contradicts what this same inspired author wrote in the same epistle.

Romans 7:6-7 plainly tells us that we have been delivered from the Law that held us in the past tense, and then identifies that Law by quoting the Ten Commandments: "You shall not covet".
Before this, Romans 3:31 plainly tells us that we establish the Law, and then identifies that Law by quoting from the Genesis record 430 years before the Ten Commandments covenant from Mount Sinai came into existence: "For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Yes, we establish the Law. The Law's record is utterly reliable. As the preamble to your pet verse taken out of context reads, But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.

The Witness is reliable.
Romans 3:31 only sounds like it helps your cause if you extract it from the context it appears in.

Scripture doesn't contradict Scripture.
The phony premise that it does remains your whole argument that lies on the floor with your broken theology.

No sir I don't see it. I call some day a person was born on their birthday which doesn't mean I can't do other things besides have cake and ice cream with them to celebrate. I don't set aside a whole day just for them unless what ever is going on takes a whole day. Bible study/reading is done on a daily basis not just one day a week.

It doesn't matter if one wishes to set a side a whole day to do nothing but worship and Bible study what day its done on. To say God won't accept worship on another day besides Saturday is foolish thinking. To say it proves one has salvation is foolish. It only proves they're religious having no influence with God.

It is arguments like your that lead person to say that the bible is full of contradictions.

I just finished a post that documents this as your practice.
No, the thesis that Scripture contradicts Scripture has been your thesis ever since you relied on it to support your claim that Galatians 4 is a 'lie'.

Now you would insist that the ten commandments has been removed.

No, it isn't me. I have several times dropped Scripture into your lap and showed you what God's Word says. His Word is the final arbiter of the Gospel's message.

But you will answer yes to the following christian principles: (that can't be if there is no commandments for christians to obey, you make the contradiction and a stumbling block for many)

Now you've reduced the covenant from Mount Sinai to 'principles'.
It is not a 'principle'.
It is the seventh-day Adventist who needs to re-define a legally binding Suzerainty Covenant between the Sovereign and the vassal He delivered from Egyptian bondage into a mere list of principles.

Did that happen to the Gentiles living in Barbados?

When I dropped Romans 7 into your lap, you rejected it.
You're on record writing a post calling Galatians 4 a 'lie'.
You're also on record stating that there is a time when the Blood of Jesus won't cover your sins.

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Look at your own signature line, a quote from Isaiah 8:20.
What does the Law demand to keep the Sabbath holy?
Hint: A Levitical priesthood to officiate the burnt offerings demanded by the Law, which our High Priest isn't authorized to perform!
For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.

You haven't kept the sabbath holy according to the Law. Not ever in your entire life. The same is true of your false prophet who condemned herself when she wrote "It means eternal salvation to keep the Sabbath holy unto the Lord" in {6T 356.4}.

Turning away from a false prophet is a divine commandment found in the Law, and you have not obeyed the Law. You simply make absurd claims and show that there is no light in them.

Are you telling me that the Israelites were to commit works of the flesh for 6 days and stop on the seven? So out of the ten commandments we should keep nine and leave one. You know that that is the end result for while you say the law is not for Christians you still keep them in practice. James said if you fail in one you are guilty of all.

The claims I make are as Jesus made and will continue to make. All spirit filled persons would see that.
One of us happens to be correct in our views, and one of us wrong at worse both of us are wrong.

No one can force you to defend the views you've adopted on a public forum - that decision is yours alone. But if you're listening to a spirit who tells you to call Scripture a 'lie' and disobey the very covenant you claim to adhere to, then it is time to test that awful spirit.

With reference to the poll, it would seem that more persons are coming to understand that "the Lord's day" of Revelation 1:10 could not mean Sunday as many would like to have us believe.
What is disturbing is the number that say the do not care. God gave us His word that we will know the truth and His desires for us. If we as His follower don't care what He has said to us, it seems also to indicate that we don't care about Him or are careless/indifferent in our relationship to Him.
We should make it a point to know exactly what God requires of us. Our salvation depends on it.

I think you may be correct, since there is zero scriptural evidence that the first day of the week is being referred to in Revelation 1:10.
