Although I don't believe that bigfoot exists, I think it would be cool if he did. In fact, I might consider perpetuating the legend myself. If I make it to 50 without tying the knot, then perhaps I'll build myself a pair of artificial bigfoot feet. Giant articulated shoes, loosely modeled after australopithecus or homo erectus for added realism. I'll strap them on in the wee hours of the morning after a fresh snowfall, or after rain shower when ground is muddy, and plod about while others are sleeping. Then I'll keep an eye on the local news for a few days. The trick will be finding places where I can put them on and take them off without the tracks looking too artificial. They have to begin and end somewhere, after all. This might even lead to new opportunities. I could become a self-proclaimed bigfootologist, write books, be a guest on Coast to Coast etc.
But seriously, I probably won't. Such things can be taken the wrong way, and it does seem a little dishonest. If I could do it in a way that people would enjoy, then I suppose, but there are already enough practical jokers who do this kind of thing. And that's exactly what I think most cryptozoologists are at heart: practical jokers. Much like the folks responsible for crop circles.
Just posting to state that I still don't believe he exists. There you go.
you... you... you.... bigfoot atheist.
Okay, I'm willing to accept that it may be Rosie O'Donnell. I'll go no further than that!
Yes, I totally believe in a creature who has never turned up a body, produced any offspring, exposed a nesting site, been caught in a steady and reliable video, or left behind hair and bone samples. Totally believable.
I don't doubt that people have seen or heard strange things out in the woods. I just find it heard to believe that no one has ever shot one, been killed by one, or managed to turn up solid physical evidence. Shaky video, blurry photos, and eyewitness accounts just don't cut it anymore. Until a real body turns up I will always be highly skeptical that such a large creature could remind unnoticed for decades without leaving a single trace behind.

I'm sure bigfoot would have far more class than that troll.
Yet you believe in a being of which there is no physical evidence or proven visual sightings? No photographs or videos, no actual proven contact? That the only reason you believe in him in the first place is because a book says he exists and you assume he responds to your prayers when you might be speaking to open air? A little perspective is required when making such statements.
Rosie O'Donnell, is that you?
i don't know, I would like to beleive there is something like that out there, but like other people have said, there really hasn't been much evidence, except maybe foot prints. But who knows what those could of really been.
