CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I do not magnify myself or seek honor from men. If I did, then I would not be a servant of Christ.
My words which are not my own are they which testify that I am speaking the truth.

Sin is ugly.
But God has made a way for us to be redeemed from it's curse.
And herein lies the crux of the matter.
Men do not like being told that they are sinful and need a Savior.
Thus, the bitter hatred and resentment for those who maintain through love and longsuffering that they do.

Becoming a Christian again/anew 1¼ years ago, has changed me a lot to the better. So no, I don't have a childlike faith.
Even the first time I became Christian, even though that was a long time ago, I remember having read from the encyclopaedia at home about other lifeviews and also weighing in atheism or agnosticism as options.
Nowadays I'm reading critical Christian scholarship, just that I avoid authors that just write to sell a lot and are not Christian all of them.

Look, this argument about whether God exists is an old old argument. The argument as to who has the burden of proof in this is stupid also. For we are not in a formal debate and burden of proof does not have to stay static. I'm trying to get point across that arguing about this is going to lead all of us no where. I said that personally I believe that God exists, that is from subjective reasons but I can't prove it to an athiest or agnostic nor do I want to try. I'm not here to convince atheists that God exists. My main concern is that when God is discussed through the bible that the information is presented accurately.
