I used to be a Christian, and I can tell you that when I was a Christian, I thought that it was wrong to discriminate on someone just because they are gay.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, what would count as satisfactory evidence? Think about your own experience with romantic attractions. Did you ever deliberate upon the matter and choose to be attracted to members of the opposite sex? Could you make another deliberation and choose otherwise? I really think this point is so trivial that asking for further evidence would be a waste of time.

Homosexuals are people who choose to engage in a particular lifestyle.
Many endeavor to liken sexual attraction as being not dissimilar to a person's race or ethnicity and thus maintain that since it is wrong to discriminate against one because of their race, it is therefore wrong to make distinctions regarding homosexuals. This is clearly fallacious and is a category mistake. The two are not the same.
