Same here; I never felt the same after!

It is wonderful not to be pinned down; hubby is enjoying it with me more each day

Not as hot, but very humid here too, and stops you in your tracks.....it will be stormy and muggy here until Sunday.
We'll be getting a lot of reading in

We had big dark clouds backed up into our mountains...hopefully we will not get fires from lightning...you can hardly breathe outside...I have sat at the pc all after noon.

Thanks dave, some of those clouds backed off...but it is still horrible to be outside....there has been a crew putting a new roof on my neighbor's house...working in the heat and direct sun all week...those guys are hot to say the least.

I am going to watch football tonight....

Hi, folks. I was here for a while a few years ago. I missed being part of online community, so I'm back. My life isn't much to share, but I enjoy reading about yours. It's just me at home now. Sons are grown; my husband passed on, it will be two years ago Aug. 26, six days before our 25th anniversary. He was sick for a very long time.
I'm too disabled to drive or work. I miss having family to care for. I read, watch as much tv as I can stand (which sometimes isn't much), stay online. On nice days I can get around my small town in my power wheelchair and by bus. I go to church weekly when I have a ride. My church is 12 miles away.

I am so glad you posted here....you may have been here when I was away for a few months...we have a very friendly group...most of us need to stay at home a lot...some choose to...some are still married...some not....

I know I would miss my hubby terribly if I lost him.

I left nursing 5 years ago after an illness; hubby and I are easing into formal retirement now that he has lost his job.

Thanks for the welcome. It's good to know that other people stay home a lot. The few friends I have are constantly on the go. Unless it's really humid outside, I try to get out a little everyday. I have always loved being outside, even if it's just on the porch. I see many of you have dogs to walk. That's good. It gets you out. I have tried to bond to pets, but haven't. My cats were a lot of work and messy so I gave them away. Dogs are too in-your-face for me. lol
I do miss my favorite cat at times. Vets are so expensive and that's a big reason why I don't keep a pet.

Have you ever considered a bird? Small birds are inexpensive and a real joy.
I have a canary that fills our home with song all day (my little pavaroti)
Or even fish....you can get a betta for a couple bucks and are very easy too!

I've had birds. My canary I gave away when I was pregnant because the shrill grated on my nerves. (She gave it to her father-in-law when she got pregnant.) I'm good without a pet. I'm amazed at the way many people can feel so strongly for pets. I would probably be happier if I could feel that intensely. I have cousins who never married and their dogs are much company.

the consultant could find no fault in his work
So with our discussion focussed so-strongly on the remediative effect of his handiwork
I told him 'point-blank' re: the tens of tens 'times' I have had to reduce the excursions myself
and informed him that I will not reduce the next such event
but will call an ambulance [instead]
That challenge, was accepted with some embarrassment

I am to see him again in six months....
I feel like I want another-opinion, for this 'piece of cattlemeat's, discomfort

Still smiling, breathing, eating, sleeping and enjoying every day
