  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You sure have energy and ambition tho...

it's not ambition. it seems to be necessity. I'm fifty... and I'm gonna have to find another job or let the one I have pay me $10,000 a year less than they hired me in at 5 years ago. I simply cannot afford it. I COULD get another job, but who is going to promote a middle aged woman into a management position when there are 25 year olds with more energy?..I dont' want to suck up anymore. I'm tired of it. I don't like bragging and tooting my horn as much as I did when I was younger anymore either. Age has a way of humbling us (or it did me anyway...lol) I do what I'm supposed to do and I do what I'm told (when it is in my power to do so - time can be an issue ) The way I see it, I either make my own job or I work for very little money as someone's secretary or a file clerk in my golden years. I'm better off with a small business, even if the business only nets $50,000 a year. If I am very very lucky the business will be a success and I'll only have to do it for 10 or 15 years (maybe 20).. If not so lucky, then I work as long as I can. I don't want to go back to school.. I don't want to think that hard again. lol

I'm not talking about anything grand here. I am looking for something I can do with very little help. I like the mall because the mall closes and opens at a certain time and has security guards on duty at all times. .... and, if it's a busy mall the possibility for success is much better.

I agree, Shirley Sis'... she is 'a strong willed lady'
I  that each of our 'sparks', burns-brightly

Have a good night everyone and God Bless you[/QUOTE]

AWWWW!!! that was sweet. Everyone is strong when they have to be usually... Sometimes it takes a while to get there but if you bear through life and if life is hard enough on you... it makes you stronger. you have no choice. I just like having a place to share (here). I have no-one to talk to at work. I have two friends who live close. One has had a stroke and I can't burden her with stuff and don't see her much.. the other one listens and I get input but sometimes they need a break. I'm just saying your complements are nice but my thoughts have nothing to do with strength or ambition. I'm just trying to support myself. I'm in problem solving mode. :)

Welcome back BROTHER DAVE! I'm very happy to hear how good things went. All you have to do now is heal up some and do what the doctor says. Get well quick! You will remain in my prayers.

We had a lovely evening, thanks :)
Rest well Dave

Thank you Gail Sis'
We did ! and hopefully, you did also

I awoke about 8.40am to hear 'Rolo' crying, at the foot of the staircase
"I need to go"
So, I traipsed over the stairs in my long-johns and tee shirt, to let them out the back garden
and went back to bed, afterwards, for 90 minutes
When I came down 'dressed'... I found coffee and porridge awaiting me :D
Have a blessed Sunday

Well, I love to chat with you too...don't have much talking going on with hubby, he is very quiet. But have recently discovered, I like a quiet man...took me nearly 50 years to find this out....;)

I think you have a point there about being strong...hubby solved all our problems for years, now we face a lot more together...took us both a while to make changes in our relationship.

I have a divorced friend here...she sounds a lot like you Connie...it is a little amazing to see how the Lord takes care of her and helps her make decisions...she works full time for a "care giving" business...has been in their office for a while now...even invested money in an expansion of this business that is working out well for all. She is always generous with the means she has too and if I ever needed a friend bubbling with joy, she is it...she often chooses joy while facing life.

I did not sleep much last night, it was hot early on, the neighbors were in their pool...and other neighbors were outside, quiet, but Gracie could hear everything with the windows open...she was a wreck trying to guard the house. It is no wonder I have such energy level swings.

I do empathise with that 'alerter' of-your's, being disturbing, Shirley Sis'

Our 'Rusty' hears 'things' [outside] and takes up, his yapping...
quickly joined in-Chorus, by Teddy and Rolo

Last Autumn was 'very bad':doh: as his sensitive hearing
'tracked leaves' in the wind on the path outside :headbang: situations
you'll know what I mean [?]
Two minutes of peace and quiet... and then we are 'off-again'

They are of-course, only behaving instinctively
It isn't "naughty" to warn your pack, that there is something 'happening' outside
;)

Dave, I am soooo glad to read how well you are doing PTL!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am coming-along 'pretty good', thank you Shirley
I do hope that district nurse has had some experience of staple removal
when she comes to visit on the 30th
It makes me wonder, does the fact that the hospital supplied me
with a pair of staple-removal pliers
Is this because they are not standard-issue

Our appreciation of > WHERE WE ARE AT < at anytime
can be miraculously changed by others, whom are just being 'themselves'

My husband had a nurse come here to the house to have all his stitches and staple removed after open heart surgery...He had a lot of them up and down his leg and on his chest...he thought afterwards, she did the removal incorrectly...gues we should pray yours will know what to do. His process was ouchy, but he was really not right for several weeks after that kind of surgery either...very hard on him emotionally as well as physically.

Guess my little alerter is just doing her job...our other dogs just slept through everything, even the doberman.

Yes Dave, I did sleep well, thanks!
When Jim is home I sleep more soundly because Penny is cared for and has HIS attention (and he keep her quiet) ;)

We have been trying to teach Penny (daytimes) what to bark at an what not.
She does seem to be catching on, and at night she sleeps soundly now though 'normal noise'
Praying you get adequate rest for good health

I was a Visiting Nurse and removed many staples in my 40 years.
We always brought our own kits, but seeing your health care system differs from ours I can't answer as to who supplies what.

It is a pretty straight forward procedure, though on the rare occasion staples have been in for a long period and/or the incision is not a clean line with new skin growth, you can have some trouble.

Usually it is just a PINCH as the removal tool bends the staple upward like a V (can be seen here in the video)
Surgical Staple Removal - YouTube
I don't anticipate you having any problems Dave, though because of the location being a tender area, you may have a couple 'pinch/ouch moments'...but they pass quickly!

Thanks for your prayers, Dave ~ praying for your comfort and peace

I haven't 'peeped' to see, how many I have /examine the wound
It is a Dry Dressing [pad] fixed by a perforated sticky 'plaster'
and must not become wetted
Mary bought me some baby-wipes, to keep my 'bits' hygenic
until, I can bathe /shower again

It doesn't refix itself, I noticed [the adhesive strip]
I wondered whether I would be receiving a 'bikini wax' during it's removal
There is every chance, that I am not going to like it's being removed

Rusty, hasn't got a 'bark' as do Rolo and Teddy, he makes a yip/yap noise
and keeps AT-IT until we check it out ... What, a wonderful "pet" he is :p

We have just had lunch [I have] Mary is just finishing up
I had Minced-Beef and Onion pies, while Mary had Pizza Meaty Feast
after which, I took my antibiotic caplet [like a good little boy :D]

Once we get the 'ouchy' out of the way, I am hopeful of leaving it behind me
It has been a long [drawn-out] four months of 'suffering' not-only the discomfort
but the feeling of uselessness and extra dependance on another
to 'cover' all my shortcomings and stuff, I have had to neglect

Anyway, we are getting to the home plate now

Thank you so-much for your prayers Sis' Shirley
your Bro'

Unless they shaved the area (they usually do) it may hurt more than the staples (LOL @ bikini wax ^_^)!

* Be sure to have some yogurt daily if your tummy is affected by the antibiotics (replaces the good bacteria)

I expect you will have a new lease on life once these activity restrictions are lifted :)

For me...it is a blessing to pray for all my dear friends here ~ you are family to me as well

God bless your dear hearts
