  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have started making beaded necklaces this year...here is a recent one, it is short. I made it for a friend who is turning 70. She is still works full time, rides and keeps her horse and has wonderful, thick, shoulder length hair. You would never guess her age...she is a bundle of energy.

The necklace is a mix of natural stones, glass and plastic beads, & some tiny metal beads strung on wire. I like a chunky, rustic look...it goes with T-shirts, pets and dirt. :)

That's really beautiful Shirley. Funny you should mention her hair...I've just started letting my gray come out (since June 2011) and although I see an older person in the mirror, my hair seems healthier. It's shiny whereas the blond ends are dry and brittle. It's hard to wait it out (sometimes I just want to cut all the blond off) but I am used to having it shoulder length so shoulder length it will be until all the blond is gone.

Sorry to bring up a neg amidst all of this praise and joyful chat but I broke my camera this morning :( It was the one Christmas/Birthday gift that I really enjoyed. I even kept it in the box and brought it back and forth to work each day. I would take pictures of my art and then post at the office. I don't know what to make of this. Perhaps I am spending too much time on visual art and need to focus on other things. Oh well, if life really is a bowl of cherries, I think I just got a pit!

Probably not....we just live paycheck to paycheck....not even enough to put away for a rainy day. I guess it means buying a few less groceries this week, skipping that Saturday brunch and outing and/or stalling off on a bill or two for another month. Somehow, we always make ends meet. Plus, I'm sure the collectors will make that follow-up call and I'll tell them that they'll just have to wait, lol. We have no financial security and we don't make that our priority in life....we never have. We have spiritual security and we store our treasures in heaven. PTL

I would miss having a camera...I can relate.

My friend never seems old to me...I am the "old" one...think I was old as a child.:angel::angel::angel:

I keep my hair very short now for several reasons...but still have just a few gray hairs around the ears.

I love my soft silver/white hair; I colored mine for a number of years and went 'oh naturale' when I turned 50.
After a certain age, colored hair looks 'colored' ^_^

Sorry to hear about your camera; mine bit the dust 5 years ago and I never replaced it.
Then again, I was ill and not hiking as I once did.
We do have a cheap digital that serves the normal purposes.
Praying you find one for your needs and budget.

Hubby still isn't working (week 3), so we took a long walk, did errands and stopped for a light lunch; it was a lovely day together

God bless you all

Good morning Eagles. Dave, that is some scary news. What next, the mark of the beast on our foreheads or hands? I hope that we get raptured first....it is my belief that we will. :) On another topic, the sales clerk (camera shop) advised me to contact Kodak first and see if it was under warranty. Sure enough, I went online and upon entering the serial number, it was confirmed that the camera is under warranty. I should hear back from them today and will keep you posted. I finished "The Riviera" and look forward to posting the final project. Have a blessed day folks!
