  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good morning Eagles. Dave, that is some scary news. What next, the mark of the beast on our foreheads or hands? I hope that we get raptured first....it is my belief that we will. :) On another topic, the sales clerk (camera shop) advised me to contact Kodak first and see if it was under warranty. Sure enough, I went online and upon entering the serial number, it was confirmed that the camera is under warranty. I should hear back from them today and will keep you posted. I finished "The Riviera" and look forward to posting the final project. Have a blessed day folks!
Praise God

Looking forward to seeing your work

Have a blessed day friends

Thanks Shirley. Yep, it's under warranty alright. I have a "return authorization number" and was told to be sure to write it on the outside of the package. Otherwise it may not even get opened!!! So the whole ordeal should take a few weeks to resolve. I'm mailing it first thing. In the meantime, I will try to get my son to snap the last "Riviera" painting. Guess I'll be holding off on painting for a while. Oh, I can paint but it's not as fun when you can't post your progress. Glad to hear that they've finished the work. Take some pictures if you can and show us the finished project. Have a blessed day!

I know...I took garbage up and down our steps, plus all the rest of the house got some attention. There was a time that would have been 2 hours work with energy to spare for lots of other things.

I did take Gracie to the park for a walk...she loves that outing...I always manage to talk to someone...lots of times they seem to be unusual people...I just attract them I think...today was a very nice man...long gray beard, but he looked 45 or so...had a very old dog with him and he was using a cane.

Toward the end of this afternoon, Mary took some cardboard and waste-paper
out to our recycle-bin, to find, that it had been ALMOST-FILLED to the brim

It won't be collected, for another 8 days

A neighbour has stripped the wallpaper from his apartment walls
and crushed it into, OUR bin
Well, I thought he had a real-nerve doing that, so I knocked on his door
and asked him, where he thought we were going to put, our waste paper
now that he had filled our bin, what with the collection being so-far away

I am sure I saw a quickly controlled grin [as he 'peeped' around his front door]
He said, "I had nowhere-else, to put it, my bin is full"

I told him he had 'taken advantage' and COULD HAVE, ASKED...
but as he hadn't asked, he had created a dilemma for us
that we wouldn't forget in a hurry....

We have decided not to report the incident [dumping rubbish]

But, he has most certainly, ended
the friendly-relationship, that we enjoyed, previously

WHAT DOES THE TEAM THINK ?

Late last night, Mary took some card out to the bin [hoping to squash it in, somewhere]
When she found, that the bin very nearly empty
The wallpaper was-missing

It would seem that my 'open-disapproval', has caused the neighbour to 'rethink'
and to remove, the offending materials he crushed into the bin
I haven't seen him today... it looks as though, 'he is keeping his head down'

Oh well, "a word in the right ear" as they say

Thank you very much for your prayers....
I still have that 'chill-wind, from the west' to deal with
but I have His armour 'onboard' and expect my 'reservedness' and patience
to help me overcome that, too

Enjoy the party Sis; Shirley \o/

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend
your Bro'

dave

We pay for a large dumpster...it is located on the lower side of our property. We have had trouble a few times with people filling it to the brim with their trash. We confronted one household, but it did no good...they finally moved to the relief of the neighborhood.

Last year we had trouble again...so I asked many neighbors about the problem...finally I "caught" the guy in the act...made him remove his garbage and we have not had trouble since...it is like being invaded when people just claim the dumpster for their own...it is stealing in my opinion and sneaky...thye know the dumpster is not theirs and someone else must pay for it every month.

We do let several neighbors use it from time after they ask us, usually when we are all raking leaves.

You could take it out of your bin and put it on his doorstep...it is not a funny incident to me.:idea:

Wow Dave
Maybe take it out and put his junk next to his bin?
Then HE can deal with HIS mess!

Are your bins marked for each apartment?

It IS reportable....and a whole week is a long time to wait when you have your own refuse to deal with!

I really don't know; we have never had a set up like that!

Praying for your direction in this

I think you have the right to EXPECT him to ask. His not asking showed a lack of respect for other people. You have the right to set boundaries and he seems like the kind of guy you need to set boundaries with... It's nice that you don't want to report the incident, but i would certainly take a dated picture of it if possible and if he does something else that shows a complete lack of disrespect for your property I would most certainly report it.

What would Jesus do?

I believe that as Christians we need to go the extra mile. Jesus said that if a man asked you for your shirt, you should give him your jacket too. If someone slaps you on the left, give him the right to slap as well. Humility is hard to achieve, even harder to express but works miracles in the hearts of the unsaved. Frankly, this sounds like an opportunity for you to show Christian love, praying that your testimony will win souls for Christ.

I will pray for you Dave. I know that it's easier to react as any Godless person would - but we have chosen the straight and narrow path.

God bless you both.

Mary and I are... going to set this hurdle behind us

Following the next collection, the bins [on wheels]
will be brought 'inside' the property curtilage
This will cause any further 'abuse', to carry the further 'offence' of TRESPASS..

All properties in the area have their OWN bins ~
Black for unrecyclable waste_ for furnace or landfill disposal
Pink for Garden/Kitchen waste [organic]
Blue for Cardboard /Waste-Paper
Brown for Glass /Clear plastic Bottles, Cans and Aluminium Containers/ Foil Wraps

The flats, [apartments, such as our 'dodgy neighbour' has] have, ONLY black bins

Only houses, have the full complement/suite of bins, as we do

So let us, stand-back [from the edge] and observe, whatever can happen /does

We are 'back home', after a really wonderful SUNNY day in the low to mid-30's centigrade
Our vist to Jodrell Bank and a national heritage site 'Quarry Mill' was really-nice

Pics will TAKE- a while...... Sheesh !!!!!

We were accompanied by a cameraman and sound engineer
whom recorded our 'outing' for the organisers

Several of us, yep me too!! were interviewed
re: our opinion of these trips and also, to expound upon
the 'benefits' that we personally perceived were our's, because of them

If I get to see the edited video... I will try to grab a copy

You made a good choice Dave...
you took the "high road"....:)

 Thank you Shirley Sis'

The reason for
having those bins, where, the neighbours could reach them
was to avoid, my having to pull them up those steps in the front garden

But hopefully my hernia will be repaired on Tuesday [next]
and Mary will help me until I have completely recovered
