Whats the difference between John (who come not eating and drinking) given it says the law and the prophets were until John, and Jesus (who followed after) who come eating and drinking (because since John) the Kingdom of God was preached (which is also not in meat and drink)?

There is no logic behind this rule. Modern pork is no worse - or better - for you than beef or chicken or anything else processed we eat.

The law remains as a tutor for the unbeliever, to brings them to Christ. The believer no longer needs a tutor. Jesus nailed the law to the cross including ALL of the Mosaic law. None of it remains for the believer. The ministry of the Spirit is much more glorious than the ministry of death engraved in stone.

So true. I'm not sure if my church is a SBC, but as far as even the generic Baptists (as that's what I'm assuming my church is), we basically eat anything (within reason... our pets are family and not food, etc.)

2)Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts,and eggs will be killed.

3)The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the pig.

God told us not to eat swine.

Leviticus 11:7-8:7And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. 8Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

Well you were asking an administrator about homosexuality and Im not sure whether you read the rules but theres certain places that can be discussed (per rules) and here isnt one of them

I still sorta believe the food laws can still in effect for those who weak in faith, for example if you regard some as unclean then for you it is, but its more self imposed now

He that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So it would be a sin eating not of faith

Whereas another can be happy as a jaybird who condemneth not himself by what he approves

The weak brother (not the strong brother) in respects to foods is noted

The weak brother is basically destroyed (in conscience) over foods, this is a big deal with the weaker, it sorta lets you know where they are, and not to invite him over for pork chops (type thing)

If you do invite him over you must be sensitive to his little feelings, and walk charitably towards him, serve what his conscience allows him

The “swine” are symbolic of people who appear to be righteous from the outside (though he divide the hoof) but inwardly are unclean (yet he does not chew the cud).



We are not to “eat with them”( having fellowship with those who call themselves brothers but are greedy). Those who do fellowship with them partake of their evil works.

Their “flesh” is what they teach. Their teachings are what we are not to “eat” for they will defile us and their “carcass” (the greedy works) we are not to attach ourselves to. Their teachings are “flesh” and not Spirit.

(8) Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

“Swine” are those people who have a form of godliness but oppose the power thereof. We are to turn away from such. They do not “chew the cud”. They do not ruminate or acknowledge the truth. They will not consider the truth nor think that what they do is wrong.


2 Timothy: 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

And again, we are not to keep company with the greedy. With such a one we are not to eat.

Very good Rogueriver, you have been given eyes to see the spiritual side of the law. On one side of the cross was the natural, on the other side of the cross was the spiritual.

To rightly divide the Word of truth is to part the hoof, and to chew the cud is to meditate on the Word of God.
