  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is your interpretation?

Hi, I'm curious how does a creationist interpret those Archaic Homo sapiens, and other ape-like creatures within 6,000 years of earth history? And I also like to know from an evolutionist stand point within the millions of years range as well. One interpretation I heard from someone is that humans evolved from those ape-like creatures in an accelerated pace in the past, and then somehow they stop evolving since. But this is not a sufficient explanation either, so I'm looking for a plausible explanation from both sides in the hope that I'll become educated on this area. Thanks!

They were, at one time, men and women who were contributing members of society -- just like you and I.

At one point in their life, they contracted a disease that altered their bone structure dramatically.

I believe that if they found the bones of King David today, he would be portrayed as a Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon.

You believe wrong, I'm afraid.

Right....so the dozens of Neanderthal's that we have found, dozens of australopithicus aferensis, and so on down the road are all deformed people or apes huh? Even the ones whose DNA we sequenced and shown they are a sister species?

You haven't found "dozens" of anything.

Maybe a dozen teeth or something; but I'd be surprised if they even had a complete skeleton of anything.

And yes, they are all deformed people or apes.

Even the ones whose DNA you sequenced and shown they are [what you call] a sister species.

Read what you said again. That is a description of creation.

Going to retract your error now?

Y'know, getting in the habit of five minutes of rudimentary googling before shooting your mouth off would greatly reduce the number of times you look like an ignoramus.

Yeah, that fiery ague, huh, it's something. Allows people to still function despite their skull being rearranged like play-doh. A Goddidit with their higher brain functions, perhaps?

I believe that if they found the bones of King David today, he would be portrayed as a Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon.

Let me get this right - you mistakenly call Neanderthals humans, and yet you're claiming science would mistakenly classify a skeleton that could only be a homo sapiens?

Go and get an understanding of how DNA works before you comment.
No, thanks -- I don't need an understanding of how DNA works to answer the OP.

I was asked how I interpret these guys within the context of a 6000-year period, and I answered it.

Attempting to microkill my reply by introducing DNA into the conversation prompted my response.
Nobody is going to respect an argument from a position of ignorance.
I can assure you, I spend more time correcting you guys, than you guys spend time correcting me.

I'm just honest enough to admit that I don't know square about science.

How many bones in the human body? 206?

Wanna point to the fingers in that picture?

No, I'm not going to retract my 'error'.

Your 'five minutes of rudimentary googling' can take a hike.

They've detached from the carpal and are to the left of the skull, by the looks of it.

No, I'm not going to retract my 'error'.

It's a bit more than "a dozen teeth", isn't it? And this isn't the only such find.

But hey - keep up the intellectual dishonesty, AV. Show us all what you're really like - prejudiced and ignorant.

But not honest enough to put a sock in it when it comes to scientific conclusions.
I was asked a question, and I answered it to the best of my ability.

Ya, well -- you've got a few dozen more Neanderthals to show me than just the half-of-one you showed me in that picture.

Rememer what I was addressing?
...dozens of Neanderthal's that we have found, dozens of australopithicus aferensis, and so on down the road...
I'd say you've got a few dozen 5-minute googling sessions to get to.
