Why is some Staff afraid of IIDB?

This is not directed to you EBTT.. but let's try to use as few 'you's and yours' as possible. The support team has been generous in allowing this thread to continue. Let's not abuse their generosity.

Not at all. I am one of the people being slandered by these accusations. I take offense to it. The accusations have been carefully couched to barely fit within the rules of CF. I dare you to accuse me personally of the things you are accusing the IIDB regulars of participating in. I am an IIDB regular and as such you have called my honor into question and I don't let that go unnoticed. So go use the search feature and come back with proof already.

I know people have had bad experiences over there. They are generally people who do not have any desire to dialog but only defend their actions regardless of who they hurt or pain they caused others. Yeah they have bad experiences over there. I was one of those people once. I found out that I could be wrong and wouldn't crumble to ashes and it was very liberating.

The victim was being accused by their victim(s) to being with but you seem willing to completely overlook that point.

There is nothing secret about it at all. IIDB rules say that all discussion of other sites goes in Elsewhere which is an off topic forum so the thread is there. It wasn't started there since you cannot start threads in Elsewhere. No-one tries to keep it a secret. There is a list of names so people will know who is who. It is a thread that many people post on who are on staff here. It is not a secret at all. It is the rules of IIDB that keep it hidden from non-members and not the desire of the thread participants.

No secret as to who I am. I have changed my username here out of amusement and not to hide. It amuses me that you would think I am any other than myself. I used to be flesh99 then I was GoingGoingGone and am now the nifty username you see which is a reference to a fine piece of BBC comedy. Now that all that is out of the way.

Where is your proof? You are still making accusations without proof and have had your reasons for not providing proof removed. So it's time to put up. You have been asked for evidence to back your claims against CF members and staff so let us see it.

As to whether or not I care about people whose feelings have been hurt. You don't seem to get it. The people who are constantly assaulted are the ones who don't care who they have hurt. I have no desire to defend those people. Go search for me. I am flesh99 over there. You will find me defending staff that are fair and unbiased. And I don't mean those that agree with me on everything either. Those that seek only to defend their actions with no regard to those they have hurt choose their own path.

I am not on a high horse. I have been personally attacked, my integrity questioned, and slandered in this thread by being part of the IIDB crowd, or the Loud Few, if you will. My indignation is personal offense and nothing more. You either need to prove your accusations or offer an apology for making them falsely.

A little background on IIDB ~Elsewhere~ forum. `Elsewhere~ (~E~) was created as a place where threads would "go to die". It's been a lonstanding policy at IIDB that we are really loathe to delete threads. So we decided instead to create a place where we could move threads that really didn't fit into the other forums, or had become so badly derailed that there was no repairing them. People could still post on them, but no new threads were allowed to be started. The reason that you have to register to see the thread is because we really didn't want to show the world the place where we "took out the trash". The IIDB/Christianforums thread is an anomoly. It's stayed open and has been allowed to continue simply because the mods and admins were not opposed to people posting on it as long as they obeyed the rules (plus, we were lucky enough to find some generous and clearly masochistic people to moderate the thread).

Just thought some people might be curious.

And you know, I don't remember you slandering Latreia almost a year ago. And I don't remember you among the IIDB members who turned on me as soon as they found out that Latreia was amongst them as Daemana.

And I don't remember you using the kind of cruel, cold language to me over there. And I don't remember you among those regulars who used to come after Latreia in swams to harass and flame her everywhere she tried to simply post her opinions and observations on CF earlier this year.

And I don't recall mentioning anybody's CF or IIDB usernames on either this thread or any other here on CF.

And I don't have to answer to you, because you don't seem to be anyone that was vicious to me on IIDB.

I have accused of you of making false statements. I stand by that statement. You have proven it by saying I was not one of the people that attacked you. If goes to the very core of the IIDB is evil and serves no good purpose attacks than have been made. I see good happening there. I see bad happening there. I see people coming to Christ at CF and I see people leaving the faith at CF. You leveled accusations against a group of people that, by your own admission, are not true of the group. By doing so you have offered insult to the people that are not guilty of the accusations you level. You also make accusations without proof against the rest of the group. The IIDB/CF threads started almost four years ago, when some of the staff and admins were playing lose and free with the rules.
It was needed then.

One admin was using a sockpuppet to bait and ban members, Christians were being prohibited from posting in the Christian only section on the whim of one or two mods.
People were being unfairly banned without recourse.

I do think that things have gotten a lot better, at least there is an appeals process and conciliators.

This wouldn't have happened without the 'elsewhere' threads.
Something important to remember.
