Why is some Staff afraid of IIDB?

Before I respond: Latreia are you Rigal or nifty? Or any other personality in this thread? (hard to keep track) I DO want to respond in a serious manner--but I have to know who I am talking to.

I am the nifty one not Latriea. Multitasking as usual.
It astounds me to know so far I have been thought to be so many people on here when I am just me!

Gotta love staff jumping on members while they are upset about members jumping on them on another board. That whole eye for an eye thing is really in practice around here.

It reminds me of choosing a spouse with flaws that drives one crazy.

But with the intention of changing the intended spouse after marriage.

It never works.

Either you accept or you don't.

Or, you enjoy the aspects you admire & overlook those you do not.

I hope that you and Nitz can discuss the issues between you and find resolution and reconciliation. I'd like to see that happen here at CF for a change, instead of off-site where the discussion of the issues can more easily take place.

Oh I saw to whom your comments were directed. A person who posted one of their posts from IIDB to show that not everything is griping. You jumped on them because they griped in other posts. Wait for it...you griped because they griped. Love the irony of that.

My record at CF is clean. I don't claim to have been victimized. I am not at IIDB whinging on about staff actions taken towards me. I am there because I have good friends that post there and it is a place where we can freely discuss things. Give us that place here and the thread at IIDB goes the way of the dodo. If not then we keep talking there out of frustration.

Anyway I thought staff was held to a higher standard. Can you explain how your post generates peaceful discussion or was that removed from staff protocol?

First off-I need not "explain" myself to you.

Second- I am not gonna argue with you. You are part of a group that believes staff of CF should be able to speak freely with members of IIDB. When we do and you dont like what we say, you cry foul-just like you did above. Thanks for another example of this happening.

Yes people go off site to air their dirty laundry, while others do it on site. One side is not out to get the other and likewise the other way around. Though at times yes it does feel like that. Everyone has an opinion and it should be seen as that, an opinion you don't have to agree with the, but raither respect them for their opinion.

Right now this thread has somewhat gotten off topic.

The answer is some people do not like things that are different from their world view, thus do not like out side sites. That is not within their comfort zone, some people are willing to reach out and test their comfort zones, but that does not mean that they accept the views of the world outside their zone, they just want to be stewards of their gifts. Again I am not speaking for everyone or anyone, just generalities.


BTW I am more afraid of the children on my bus than what someone on this site or another could ever say to me.

I just don't want everybody to think I am somebody I'm not, not for poor Latreia to be accused of being somebody she isn't.

And I don't want IIDB running away with the thought that CF Staff are treated well by CF Staff either.

Support Forum doesn't have a fellowship thread. This could be it. A thread where people fellowship, and also releave some tension, without fear of being punished for expressing their true thoughts.

It'll only happen if both of you want it to happen. Nothing will stand in your way. The only thing that matters in this issue is what you and Nitz communicate to each other. Others' comments on your issue is simply noise.

Well, first as was mentioned I only posted one example to debunk the myth that all that happens is complaining about warnings/infractions.

Second, i'm not even certain about what issue between us you speak of but if you want to discuss it over at IIDB i'd be more than glad to.

Third, that's kind of the problem innit? We can't really discuss that here because the rules don't allow it and we are in a position of moderator/member ... my opinion means nothing in the end. And if I had posted a specific example of me questioning one of your mod actions over there ... why, then i'd be discussing CF mod actions here at CF and be in violation of CF rules.

Anyway, got to get to work. Talk more later if this thread is still around
