Pennsylvania priest spent $41K in parish funds on cellphone games, police say

A Pennsylvania priest was arrested this week after police say he misused tens of thousands of dollars in parish funds to purchase video games.

Father Lawrence Kozak has been on administrative leave in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia since November 2022. The archdiocese told CNA his leave “followed a review of St. Thomas More Parish’s financial activity by the Archdiocesan Office for Parish Services and Support.” Kozak had previously been pastor at the Pottstown, Pennsylvania, parish.

The archdiocesan review “resulted in certain expenses and expenditure levels utilizing parish funds being questioned,” the archdiocese said. After placing the priest on leave, the archdiocese “referred the matter to law enforcement.”

Pennsylvania law enforcement arrested Kozak last week in connection with the allegations. A criminal complaint filed by Pennsylvania State Police alleges that Kozak “used credit cards for the purpose of obtaining property or services using parish funds valued at” more than $41,000.

The Danger of "Keeping Sabbath."

Okay, I was not sure how to title this post since it is not anti-sabbath per se, which is why the quote marks are there.

When one claims to "keep the Sabbath," they make a truth-claim about themselves. There are as many ways to "keep the Sabbath" as there are Sabbatarians, especially when it comes to the more liberal Sabbatarians, so which way is the correct way, or is this subject to the modern definition of "truth?" They claim to be the ones who know how it should be kept, or else how could they claim to be keeping it?

In general, Sabbatarians all agree that the Sabbath is an important command to keep, but that is where it ends. If one tells me it is very important to keep the Sabbath, should they not explain how it is to be kept, especially in our modern day? But doesn't this all lead to a works-orientation?

I think that sometimes Sabbatarians develop a blindness to the forest because of the Sabbath trees. The issue is not the sabbath but obedience to our Father and Christ. Human nature is prone to idol worship, and once it assumes it has found a way to climb to heaven, it can easily slip into idol worship unless our desire to obey is divinely planted in us and our love for our Father and Our big Brother, Christ, is burning in us and motivating us, commandment-keeping, in general, is an empty pointless exercise in a vain attempt to scale the wall of the sheepfold.
In short, The danger or dangers of sabbath keeping can be
  1. Self-centered works
  2. Judgement of brother and sister Christians
  3. Pride
  4. Legalism
Of course, the true Sabbath is found in Christ, but a godly observance of God's law in humility and gratefulness for his salvation can allow us to experience a taste of the rest to come. God does not point the bony finger of indignation at His sheep, nor should I.

There is only one Dragon/Serpent in scripture (Part 1)

Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

Just as allegory and typification reveal our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ... so, too does scripture reveal the Enemy of God. If you don't understand the enemy and his arsenal, you will be blindsided by "superstitious" ideas that are far from true and possibly deceived by the Father of Lies. (John 8:44) Let's start small.

Satan: This word is not what people think. It actually means "Adversary". That's it. It denotes Opposition. However, in scripture the word Satan... is set up to mean "The Adversary of God". Hit the brakes. God created a being that ended up becoming His very "Adversary"? Yes. Don't be foolish and miss what this means. This "Serpent" has placed God in bad situations that "threatened" God. If you fail to biblically see how Satan is revealed to operate in scripture, you can be swept away by lies.

Devil: This word is quite nasty. It means; Accuser of the Brethren.

great dragon: The Dragon is used to denote POWER, STRENGTH, VIOLENCE, DEATH, GREED, to name a few matters, rapidly.

ancient serpent: This reference is supposed to slither into your mind in more passages in scripture than you realize. The Garden of Eden is the obvious one, but there are many more symbolic references. Some can be found, here: Isaiah 27:1, ALL of Job 41.

Typification comes in, all throughout scripture. Haman is the most specific typification of God's Adversary. There are many more, but the main points have been made.

So, where do we first meet this "being". We meet him here: Genesis 3:1 (He's sneaky, crafty, more effective than any wild animal) He begins to plant doubt within Eve's mind, with one single question: “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”. (Notice that Satan expands the scope of God's warning towards EVERY Tree) This is met by Eve's attempt to restate what God had actually said to her. God had actually said this: (“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”)... But, Eve replies to the Serpent (‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’)... Notice that Eve adds "You must not touch it" to what God had said? The Devil already had Eve on the ropes of "Deception". Satan goes on to Contradict God, by mixing truth with lies: (“You will not certainly die,”)... which was true... because Death didn't come instantly, to Adam and Eve, yet it was a LIE, because... as scripture FAR LATER reveals... As surely as Eve had met her Maker, face to face, she was now meeting her "Assassin", face to face.

Why did I call the serpent, Eve's assassin? God "curses" the serpent with a JOB. The Serpent is cursed to "Eat Dust". (Genesis 3:14) What does Mankind return to, upon death? Genesis 3:19 "Dust"

I know, I know... that's a major theological leap! I would have to find a verse that binds the devil to the POWER of Death, to proof my assertion. (Hebrews 2:14)

How did God respond to Satan's betrayal? God recites what is now well known as "The Protoevangelium" in Genesis 3:15

The Fortunate Fall, was it fortunate for mankind that we fell?

The Fortunate Fall, was it fortunate for mankind that we fell?

I do understand that this is a position held by the Mormon church. I, however, am not interested in debating for or against Mormonism per say. I am interested in the theology and reasoning behind whether the fall of Adam, thereby the fall of mankind, was a fortunate or unfortunate thing. I'm looking for reasoning and biblical reference.

The general concept, to me (I am not aware of the debate issues), seems to revolve around the ultimate state of mankind, i.e., the glorified man. Anyone saying that the fall was a fortunate thing for mankind would seem to suggest that Adam (thereby mankind) could only attain the state of Able to Sin, Able not to Sin (posse peccare, posse non peccare), which is not the ultimate state of mankind, which is posse non peccare (meaning Not Able to Sin). This postition, of the fall being fortunate, would hold that Adam was created perfect and complete in regard to how Adam could possibly be (both of these terms would need to be defined for a proper discussion). Thus, being created perfect and complete, Adam had no path to posse non peccare (Able Not to Sin).

This position, that the fall was fortunate would seem to require one of few lines of thought; (1) God had a plan and it was thrwarted by sin so he went to plan B, (2) The final end of mankind has always been tied to sin. We had to sin to get to our ultimate state. As Orson F. Whiteney said in 1908, “Adam’s fall was a step downward,” but teach that “it was also a step forward . . . in the eternal march of human progress.”

1. Was the fall fortunate of unfortunate?
2. Was Adam created complete with no path toward glorified man?
3. Did mankind have to sin so that our ultimate state of posse non peccare could be achieved? (Is sin necessary)

Thank you for your responses in advance

The Utter Totality of Christ's Accomplishment

God Died.

Noun + Verb, followed by a single period. Certainly, we can dive into the complexity of how "God Died, Yet Remained Alive"... but take a theological chill pill for one second and really ponder on those two single words, followed by a period.

God Bled.

There it is again! Two words with infinite meaning!

I will start this out as simple as possible. Jesus is God. To most biblically explain what this means, you are saying that the very PHYSICAL PRESENCE of God, is what we know as God the Son, the Son of God. When we say... "God Died." we are saying that THE PHYSICAL PRESENCE of God, Died. This is a very haughty matter, theologically. Please pay close attention to my next words, because they are True and weigh HEAVY on my very SOUL.

If a person is inclined towards "Black and White", "1's and 0's", "Off and On"... HARD LOGIC, we can see the most specific example of this HARD LOGIC in Christ's death. To Believe in Christ's work brings Life, but to question the sufficiency of Christ's work, brings UTTER DESTRUCTION. ALL New Testament CONDEMNATION scripture Depends on (Hinges on) Christ's work on Calvary and one's human response to His "Gift of Eternal Life", which cost the equivalent of GOD's EVERYTHING.

Looking for a few people to start a weekly bible study with

Hey all! A friend and I are looking for a few people to start a weekly bible study with.. it'll be in a facebook group chat. we'll maybe do 3 chapters a week or so but that'll really be up to the group to discuss and decide on. He has been a Christian for a while now but has never really done a deep dive into the bible. I am new to the faith. we are both 35M.. so probably looking for around the 25-45 age range but a bit older or younger obviously isn't a big deal.. thank you!

Should I tell this activist about their sin ?

A abortion pro-choice activist wanted me to sign abortion petition and I denied it and kept walking I told a Christian friend about it and he told me I did the wrong thing. He told me I should’ve denied it and after that and tell the activists that they are promoting sin and explain how wrong abortion is. Should I have done or all that or did i do the right thing or was there another option?

Healing/blessing Testimonies Unbiblical?

I think some of you may be familiar with Healing/blessing testimonies where a member would walk up to the stage and share a story about trials or hardships where somehow the Lord provided a miracle and got them out of their bad situation.

However, Jesus told some of the people He healed NOT to tell other people about their miraculous healing - Mark 7:36.

I think the reason why Jesus said such thing so that people would not be drawn into Christianity under the wrong motives such as healing, material prosperity, etc (John 6:26). Because such things don't matter when compared to the saving truth - the Word of God as opposed to the lies and false teachings of the world that wormed its way into "Christian teachings".

Another reason why sharing accounts of Lord's miracle in our lives might be wrong is that it can be a source of pride for the person sharing the testimony. To let everyone know they have the Lord's favor upon them and righteous in their ways. Self-righteousness and conceitedness. I'm not saying everyone feels that way when they share their miraculous healings, financial miracles on the pulpit but it's a very strong temptation to feel that way when you do.

So why put up with it when Lord is telling us NOT to do it that it can mislead (deceive) people into having the wrong intentions for becoming a Christian and also presents itself as a strong temptation to have sinful thoughts?

I wrote this topic because I thought of sharing a testimony but also felt strongly NOT to. I felt strongly I might be doing a wrong thing because I might be only doing it to feed my pride even though it's not in my mind at all... The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17:9

What does it mean to "Count the Omer?" (Leviticus 23:10-17)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO "COUNT THE OMER?" (Leviticus 23:10-17)

Many Christians probably are not familiar with these words; "counting of the Omer" However, when we read in Leviticus 23:10-17 the instructions from God, we can see symbolism in our Messiah Yeshua. So, grab your Bibles and read through verses 10-17.

When we look at the context, Passover has been celebrated. This is the time when lambs were sacrificed and their blood placed on the doorposts of the houses in Goshen, in the land of Egypt. As we are familiar with the Passover story, Adonai himself goes through Egypt and takes the lives of the firstborn in Egypt, in all of the houses where blood was not placed on the doorposts.

Goshen, however, was where the Hebrews lived and they DID put the blood on the doorposts, so, Adonai "Passed over" those houses seeing that the "blood of the lambs" was there. How does this point to Yeshua/Jesus? The blood of the lambs was the "substitute" so that death did NOT enter those households that were obedient.

Our LORD and Messiah, Savior was OUR substitute, who took our curse of sin and died in our place. No wonder he is called the "Lamb of God". But then, what follows, is the Moed (time, season) of unleavened bread. We are to eat bread without leaven for 7 days, and together with the night of Passover, they are 8 days. What is special about unleavened bread? Yeshua is known as the "Bread of Life" without sin. Leaven points to sin in Biblical understanding. So, for 8 days, we are to be reminded to be "aware" of sin in our lives. Every time we partake of unleavened bread during this time period (for those who chose to do so) we are to be reminded of "Yeshua" who is the Bread of Life (without leaven) and to reject temptations, and avoid sin.

But there is more. This is the time when the barley grain was harvested in Israel. Barley is a simple grain used for food for cattle, and the very poor made barley bread. Once I made barley bread and it is similar to cornbread, it crumbles easily. A sheaf of barley is waved before the presence of Adonai, in thankfulness of the harvest. Then, the barley can be harvested and prepared for cattle fodder, or for making this simple bread. We remember also that Yeshua/Jesus is the "First Fruits" of the resurrection. He is the first to be "raised from the dead".

Then, we have a time period of 7 sabbaths, (49 days) between this time and it culminates on the Day of Shavuot or Pentecost. We call this time the "counting of the Omer." You might ask "What is an Omer?" An Omer is a grain measure between 2 and 3 litres. We are reminded that the Israelites were provided with Manna for their daily consumption in the wilderness journeys. In the Ark of the Covenant, an "Omer" of manna was kept in remembrance of God's daily provision for his people.

So, we we really count wheat and barley grains during the counting of the Omer? Not really, rather we use this time of 49 days to grow in faith and in maturity, to increase our knowledge of the WORD, and in the "Living WORD" to remember that our ancestors came out of Egypt with attitudes and grumblings, yet 50 days later, at Sinai, they were joined together as "Am Echad" (One People) The goal would be to become more like Adonai, to love and obey His commandments, thus maturing in the faith.

We need to remember that on Shavuot, or "Pentecost" was when the Holy Spirit came down to dwell with all believers. On Sinai, the fire of God came to rest on Mt. Sinai, away from the people. On Pentecost, the Fire of God came to "rest" on believers. This is the culmination of the time of "counting the Omer" looking forward to this time, when we wave two loaves of bread as a "wave offering" The Bread is of course "Yeshua, the Bread of Life" and why 2 loaves? "2" can mean "unity and division" we have been "united" in fellowship with God, and "divided" or "separated" from the lost world.

We can say this prayer each day: "Blessed are you O LORD, our God, King of the Universe who has sanctified us in his commandments and commands us to count the Omer." after that, it is customary to read Psalm 67, then meditate and read Proverbs or other Psalms. Everyone is different. We just take this time to grow in faith.

Yes, many are saying; "This is a Jewish holiday" Well, it started out being for the Hebrews first, then, since we are ALL included in God's community of called-out believers, those who trust in Yeshua/Jesus as LORD and Savior, we have the right and privilege to celebrate the "Counting of the Omer" as well. Once again, we can choose to do, or not to do.

Christian covert narcissist

i'd love to hear your story. how is your relationship with God? how has narcissism affected your faith? do you feel that there is hope for the narcissist?

btw im a 20F self-discovered covert narcissist. after a longgg history of self-sabotage, lack of self-awareness and very dumb mistakes, i feel utterly hopeless and lost. i've struggled with doubt and unbelief throughout my "christian" walk (baptised at age 13) before becoming an apostate the end of last year. i can't even trust my own motivations to follow Christ because everything i do is almost entirely self-seeking. in hindsight, my desire to seek Christ arose from a fear of Hell and to improve my life and glorify myself rather than God...

Keep On

This is a song about faith in Jesus Christ and about keeping that faith strong, vibrant and ongoing. It begins with repentance and obedience to Jesus Christ and to his commands for our lives. It moves from there to our daily walks of fellowship in his love. We cannot have fellowship with God if we are not obeying him or if we are still holding on to our past sins. Jesus said that if anyone is to follow him he must die daily to himself and to sin and must follow Christ in full obedience and surrender to his will for our lives (Luke 9:23-26). And from this foundation of faith, we then grow in our faith and in our trust in our Lord to meet us in all of our needs.

As well, we will face spiritual battles with the enemy of our souls, Satan. So we must put on the armor of God daily so that we can fight off Satan’s attacks against us. We must be determined and resolute that we will, in the strength and power of the Holy Spirit within us, not deny Christ Jesus, not bow to the gods of men or to men as our god, not stop speaking in the name of Jesus Christ, and not stop sharing the true gospel message that Jesus taught. And we must determine that by God’s grace of salvation at work within us in cleansing us of all sin that we will no longer allow sin to rule in our hearts, but we will make Jesus our only Lord (Romans 6:1-23). Amen!

Keep On!

Praise the Lord! Praise Him now!
Before Him humbly bow.
Repent of your sins now.
Turn to Him; obey now.
Walk in fellowship with Him daily,
And abide in His truth.
He will forgive you,
And He’ll cleanse you,
And He’ll give you new life.

Trust in Him. He is truth.
He will not forsake you.
Rest in Him. Let Him lead.
He will meet all your needs.
Obey His ev’ry word to you,
And listen to all He says.
He will be faithful
In all His promises,
So rest in Him.

Do not bow – gods of men.
Let Christ rule in your hearts.
Do not stop – share your faith.
Keep on: speak Jesus’ name.
Share His truth with all He leads you to
Be a witness for Him.
Never yield to sin
Against your God.
Obey Him in ev’ry way.

Be Ministers to One Another

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” (Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV)

All throughout biblical history we have had people called of God for the specific purpose of the perfecting of God’s people in preparation for them to serve the Lord God with their lives. First we had the prophets of the Old Testament, then Jesus Christ (on the earth), then the New Testament apostles, and then all those gifted of the Holy Spirit who are called of God to be teachers, pastors (shepherds), and evangelists, etc. But all of us within the body of Christ are to help one another to follow Jesus with our lives.

Therefore, you do not have to be in some official capacity within a congregation of followers of Christ to help your brothers and sisters in the Lord to walk with the Lord in obedience to his commands and to serve him in the areas of ministry to which the Lord has called and equipped them. For we all have our specific “body parts,” i.e. our roles (callings of God) within the Body of Christ, and we have all been given specific spiritual gifts (of the Spirit of God) so that we can minister to one another.

And none of us have to have human credentials and titles given to us by other humans in order to serve the Lord and one another in these capacities. If we believe in Jesus Christ to be our Lord (Owner-Master) and Savior, and we have died with him to sin, and we are now living for him and in his righteousness, in obedience to his commands, then we are qualified of God to encourage one another in our walks of faith in Jesus Christ and to help one another to grow to maturity in our relationships with the Lord Jesus.

And this “equipping” of the saints does not come through human marketing schemes and business plans and goals for how to grow people’s “churches” (businesses). For this is about preparing us spiritually to serve the Lord Jesus in the areas of ministry to which the Lord has called us. For you can be a great teacher in the eyes of the world, but if you are not anointed of the Holy Spirit, and if the Spirit of God is not the one guiding you in what to say to the people, then you may sound good, but you are not feeding the flock.

For the whole purpose of this “equipping of the saints” is so that we will help one another to follow Jesus Christ with our lives in pure devotion to him in walks of holiness and righteousness, in obedience to our Lord and to his commands. For we are all necessary to the proper working of the body of Christ and to the spiritual maturity of the saints of God. And it is so we will all warn one another, too, against sin’s deceitfulness, and against those who by human cunning and craftiness, in deceitful scheming, are leading people to follow after false doctrines and not the gospel of Christ that He taught.

But this isn’t just the job of the “preacher,” many of whom today are not following Jesus with their lives but who are following after other humans and their marketing schemes and goals for how to “draw in large crowds of people from the world” into their gatherings. And so many of them, thus, are not teaching the gospel that Jesus taught, because the message of the cross is an offense to them. And so they alter and dilute and misrepresent the truth of the gospel to make it more appealing to human flesh.

So, we who believe in Jesus Christ are to be, first and foremost, followers of God/Christ who are in the practice of denying self, dying daily to sin, and following the Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands (Luke 9:23-26; Titus 2:11-14; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Ephesians 4:17-24). And then we are to be listening to the Lord and following him wherever he leads us, and who are answering to his callings upon our lives, and who are doing what he has called us collectively and individually to do in service to God.

And then we are to be those who are putting into practice, by the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit within us in ministry to the Body of Christ and to the people of the world. And we are to be those who are speaking the truth of the gospel (of God’s Word) to one another, in love, in order that none of us will be led astray by those crafty ones in their deceitful scheming, and so that we all grow to maturity in our walks of faith in Jesus Christ.

And we are to be addressing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and who are teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom (of God), and who are exhorting one another every day so that none of us will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. And we are to be stirring one another up to love and good works, not neglecting to meet with one another, for we are to be encouraging (exhorting, urging) one another in our walks of faith in obedience to our Lord in faithful service to the Lord, for his glory.

[Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:15-21; Philippians 2:1-8; Colossians 3:16; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:23-25; James 5:19-20]

Obey His commands, and do all He says.
Sitting at His feet, daily in His word,
Let His word speak to me in ev’ry way,
Giving comfort and healing through each day.
Oh, how Jesus loves,
And He cares for you,
Which is why He died for our sins, in truth.

Love our Lord God, Savior, and King of kings.
Worship Him in truth, for He reigns supreme.
He created us with a plan in mind
For us to be His servants, and Him mind.

Go where’er He leads.
Share His love with others, and their needs meet.

Prosecutor dismisses case against French priest who said homosexual relations are a sin

French priest Matthieu Raffray disclosed that the Paris prosecutor’s office has dismissed a case initiated against him for stating that homosexual relations are a sin and for calling homosexuality a “weakness.”

In a legal document addressed to the priest and shared by him April 26, it stated that “on March 19, the interministerial delegation for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism, and anti-LGBT hatred went to the Paris prosecutor’s office” regarding “two posts made on your X (Twitter) and Instagram accounts” in January and March.

The priest of the Institute of the Good Shepherd — created in 2006 in Rome for “the defense and dissemination of Catholic tradition in all its forms,” according to the website of this society of apostolic life — had posted in late January a comment on Xabout “conversion therapies.”

“The LGBT Corner” had asked in a Jan. 28 mocking post on X whether “a person can get conversion therapy for 10 euros in France. That’s what Father LeCoq implies whom I contacted to help my son suffering from ‘homophile tendencies.’ He directed me to the retreat ‘Be a Man’ to be held again in Annecy.”

Spanish bishop to Biden: Invoking Jesus Christ in support of abortion is a sacrilege

U.S. president Joe Biden has come under fire for making the sign of the cross during a rally criticizing measures that restrict abortion.

Among his critics are José Ignacio Munilla, the bishop of Orihuela-Alicante in Spain, who called Biden’s gesture a “sacrilege.”

Biden went to Tampa, Florida, on April 23 for a campaign stop one week before a law restricting abortion in the state from 15 to six weeks of gestation was due to go into effect.

While a Biden supporter on stage criticized Florida governor and former Republican candidate for president Ron DeSantis for signing the bill, Biden made the sign of the cross.

On his weekday radio program on Radio María España, Munilla said that making the sign of the cross in support of abortion constitutes a “sacrilegious” gesture and “the desecration of the sign of the cross.”

“Invoking Jesus Christ in support of abortion” has drawn strong criticism “in many pro-life and Catholic circles,” the bishop pointed out.

Crossing oneself, Munilla said, is meant to be used as a sign “in which we remember that Jesus gave his life for us, he gave his life for all the innocents, he gave his life to restore innocence and to make us saints.”

To use the sign of the cross as Biden did, however, is to “invoke the cross in a sacrilegious manner.”

Referring to the incident, the Spanish prelate warned of the risk that a Catholic might publicly show his faith by crossing himself while at the same time twisting its meaning “in a sacrilegious manner.”

Paperwork filed for gold-mine exploration near North Star Nature Preserve as county eyes land exchange

Once again, big companies are at it again, defiling our one planet we live on. Seems that the curse in Isaiah 24:4-6 is from greedy corporations wrecking our planet. Article link: Paperwork filed for gold-mine exploration near North Star Nature Preserve as county eyes land exchange - Aspen Journalism

Isaiah 24:4-6: "The earth dries up and withers, the world languishes and withers, the heavens languish with the earth. The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left."

Short summary of the open-access article by Apen Journalism (<20% in length, for fair usage reasons):

In an article published on April 28, 2024, in Aspen Journalism by Elizabeth Stewart-Severy, land near the North Star Nature Preserve is being evaluated as a potential site for a gold mine. The area's management plan is being updated by Pitkin County Open Space and Trails, who are also considering a land exchange with the U.S. Forest Service. A local family, the Boyles, have held a mining claim on Forest Service land near the Wildwood Lane put-in for decades and recently filed a notice of intent to conduct mineral exploration for gold. The claim sits on public land used by thousands of paddleboarders and boaters to access the Roaring Fork River and North Star Nature Preserve. If mineral exploration moves forward, a plan of operations and NEPA review would be required. The Boyles family's primary concern is that any land exchange or management changes may not adequately protect the nature preserve, as commercial use has increased and concerns have been raised about the conservation easement's compliance. The county maintains that management plans have been in line with founding documents, but some argue commercial use conflicts with the conservation easement and resource management plan from 2000.

Pitkin County Open Space and Trails is gathering data to update the management plan, which will include public input, and is considering a land exchange with the US Forest Service to improve management efficiency. The Forest Service owns the land at the put-in but may not limit access due to resource limitations, while the county is considering limiting commercial operators and all use to reduce congestion. The Boyles family, who own a mining claim near the put-in, want to ensure they are included in discussions on the land exchange and believe the Forest Service is best suited to manage the area due to potential environmental review requirements. The mining claim, which covers sand and gravel containing gold or other minerals, may undergo exploration using sonic drilling and will include plans for revegetation. The potential land exchange and mining claim developments come as North Star Nature Preserve experiences increased use and concerns about impacts on wildlife habitat and a delicate riparian ecosystem.

Feeling ashamed...

So I feel for sure I need meds.
My intrusive thoughts make me swing between anxiety and depression..

Trying to muster the strength to be honest with my DR so I cn get them.
Trying to muster strength to endure possible withdrawls..

Just trying to be happy is all. That and pass my TEAS feel I won't bc I can't concentrate long enough to study.

Unsealed docs expose collaboration between Archives, Biden White House in Trump prosecution

By September 2021, Stern had decided to draft a criminal referral against Trump to the Justice Department after documents were still not returned, according to an FBI interview summary with a NARA employee, identified as “Person 53” in the court documents.

“Stern approached [Per. 53] to formally draft a letter to DOJ raising concerns about PRA materials from the TRUMP administration which remained unaccounted for by NARA,” the FBI memo stated.

In his interview with the FBI, Person 53 noted in his “years of experience,” he “understood NARA never had to make such a referral to DOJ…to accomplish such an ask.”

When he circulated the draft letter internally, Stern told colleagues he had been in contact with “DOJ counsel” about the matter and was continuing to communicate with the White House Counsel’s Office, showing the Biden administration was in the loop about the efforts to repossess Trump’s documents.

The Biden administration concealed this from the American people.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how pointless is this conversation?

1 being pointless, 10 being productive.
(or is it 1 being productive, 10 being pointless?)

This is based on a real conversation I had with my dad (I didn't start it by the way. I wouldn't dream of it)

Dad: How can Jesus be GOD?! He never SAID he was God!!!

Me: Well, OK. Suppose Jesus came out and said it directly. Would you believe him?

Dad: No.

Well - OK, what's the point of even going back and forth about it then?!

Am I my brother's keeper?

Genesis 4:

9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
Barnes' Notes on the Bible:

No man is the absolute keeper of his brother, so as to be responsible for his safety when he is not present. This is what Cain means to insinuate. But every man is his brother's keeper so far that he is not himself to lay the hand of violence on him, nor suffer another to do so if he can hinder it. This sort of keeping the Almighty has a right to demand of every one - the first part of it on the ground of mere justice, the second on that of love. But Cain's reply betrays a desperate resort to falsehood, a total estrangement of feeling, a quenching of brotherly love, a predominence of that selfishness which freezes affection and kindles hatred. This is the way of Cain.
