  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

prayer request

I am just out of surgery last week and am still begging the Lord for healing on a hand injury from 11 months ago. And instead of loving dreams of encouragement I seem to have too many of the bad kind. Please pray hard for the Lord to intervene and heal all things in me. And for heavens sake to send some company to rural single people who are isolated way too much. Lord please listen here.

Trump in talks to deploy private army to Ukraine to protect American interests in the country if peace plan emerges

The plan is being devised as a workaround after the US president promised that American troops would not be stationed in Ukraine.

US contractors could be deployed to help rebuild Ukraine’s front-line defences, new bases and protect US businesses.

The plan is being discussed alongside a range of other so-called security guarantees – drawn up by the coalition of the willing led by the UK and France – that will form the basis of a long-term peace plan.

We Don’t Need Gun Control, We Need To Classify Gender Dysphoria As A Mental Illness Again

These irreversible interventions euphemistically referred to as lifesaving “gender affirming care” paired with rhetoric from Democrats who undoubtedly incite violence by insisting Republicans are “erasing trans people” have had more than a decade to take effect.
The results, as seen in both science and culture, are less than ideal. Not only are more people than ever struggling with the social contagion of the LGBT movement, but more of those people are also resorting to deadly acts of violence often linked to and motivated by their struggle.

Such violent movements indeed need to be stopped.

False Preachers/Teachers

There will be a variety of opinions on who is and isn't, but that's ok.

According to the Bible, a false teacher is someone who teaches doctrines that contradict the core message of the gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ, often disguised as a genuine follower of Christ. A wolf in sheep's clothing.
A key characteristic is that their teachings do not align with the sound instructions of Jesus and the Bible. They promote a different doctrine that leads to ungodliness.
Ultimately, they are identified by their fruit and they lead people away from the truth of God and the Bible.

There are many false preachers/teachers in the world. For the well known ones, who all do you see as false teachers?

Some that come to mind for me are: Benny Hinn, Paula Cain, Ben Creamer, Joel Osteen.

ICE moves to deport Guatemalan children despite judge’s order

The Trump administration on Sunday pushed to deport 10 unaccompanied migrant children to Guatemala, their country of origin, hours after a federal judge in Washington temporarily blocked the government from pursuing the action.

The order, issued Sunday morning by Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, temporarily forbade the administration from deporting the children for 14 days. It came after the National Immigration Law Center filed an urgent request in federal court on behalf of the children, who are between the ages of 10 and 17 and in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

“It is a dark and dangerous moment for this country when our government chooses to target orphaned 10-year-olds and denies them their most basic legal right to present their case before an immigration judge,” Olivares (attorney) added.

Smartphone Advice for Flip Phone Generation

So many things assume you have a smartphone now, it looks like I'll have to have one. The main question comes down to IOs or Android. IOs means Apple, of course, while Android means everything else. Android is Linux, which I had some experience with, and generally boasts more flexibility. It also allows third party apps, which can be both good and bad. IOs means everything has to be done the Apple way and no third-party apps, and pretty much locks you into all things Apple. But restricting apps should also give some security from malicious apps. That "Apple ecosystem" can also be good and bad. I'm interested in the AirTag for tracking things like keys, and from what little I can find the Android equivalent is more spotty in coverage. That said, both seem to rely on compatible devices to do the locating, so outside Bluetooth range it might be a wash. I'm told that IPhones are more expensive for what you get than Android, but have looked at some Android phones that are right up there with IPhones and beyond price-wise.

Right now I'm looking at how long Apple maintains IOs for various phones. It looks like maybe seven or eight years, while Android is less. Phones still function regardless of OS, but don't have security patches. As a case in point, the flip-phone I have is running on an "off-brand" version of Linux and appears to have been abandoned. Since I intend to keep phones for a long time, that has me leaning toward IOs.

Whether I end up with an IPhone or Android phone, it's going into an Otterbox for protection.

Faith

In Romans 10:10 is the clause, "For with the heart man believeth unto (INTO in the Greek) righteousness" connected to verse s 6-8 where it states, Faith speaks on this wise, say not in our heart bring Christ down from above or up from the deep. But says, The Word is in our heart and in our mouth. That is the word of faith in which we preach.
And is this the faith that establishes the Law (3:31)and the faith that the Just live by? (1:17)

Minneapolis Shooter Confessed He Was ‘Tired of Being Trans,’ Said ‘I Wish I Never Brainwashed Myself’...

Transgender mass shooter Robin Westmanconfessed that he “was tired of being trans” and wished he “never brain-washed” himself in a manifesto posted online before he slaughtered two children and wounded 18 more at a Minneapolis church.

In a twisted handwritten journal he shared on YouTube before the massacre — much of which is encrypted in a homespun code of Russian Cyrillic script and English words — Westman groaned about his long hair and his decision to transition.

“I only keep [the long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself,” he wrote, according to a translation by The Post.

“I can’t cut my hair now as it would be an embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported. It just always gets in my way. I will probably chop it on the day of the attack.”

Westman, 23, later wrote that he regretted being trans and just wished he were a girl.

Missouri's GOP governor calls special session to redraw congressional districts to promote "Missouri Values"

The special session, which will begin Wednesday, will also focus on reforming the state's ballot initiative petition process. [People keep voting for sick leave, abortion and marijuana, against the governor's wishes.]

"Today, I am calling on the General Assembly to take action on congressional redistricting and initiative petition reform to ensure our districts and Constitution truly put Missouri values first," Kehoe said in a statement on Friday.

"President Trump's unprecedented directive to redraw our maps in the middle of the decade and without an updated census is not an act of democracy – it is an unconstitutional attack against it. This attempt to gerrymander Missouri will not simply change district lines, it will silence voices," [guy who's gonna lose his job] wrote.

In 2022, infighting erupted among Republicans in Missouri over whether to pursue a 7-1 Republican-dominated map, which would require splintering Kansas City voters into neighboring rural districts. The legislature ultimately pushed forward the existing 6-2 map, amid concerns that the change could backfire and make several GOP-held districts more competitive.

“Death to America! Death to Israel!” — Israel Kills Houthi Prime Minister Ahmad Ghaleb al-Rahawi

This marks the first time Israel has eliminated senior Houthi leadership, a significant shift from previous strikes in Yemen that primarily targeted infrastructure.
The strike came three days after the Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Israel, their first cluster bomb attack since 2023. The Houthis have escalated hostilities since the Gaza war, launching repeated assaults on Israel and Red Sea shipping in solidarity with Palestinians.

Is any other group going to fire missiles at Israel?

Another embarrassment - this time Trump is dead

Trump Death Hoax Explained: Why the Internet Thought Trump Died

On August 29, 2025, rumors gradually circulated online claiming that Trump hadn’t been seen in two days. The next morning, the hashtags “#whereistrump” and “#trumpisdead” became a popular X.com trend.

Baseless tweets that read “TRUMP IS DEAD” and “TRUMP DIED” quickly made the rounds online, but multiple outlets and news reporters quickly shut down the rumors.

Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese tweeted, “I wake up to see people freaking out that Trump’s sick or dead or something because he hasn’t been seen in a few days. I was with the president yesterday afternoon. I interviewed him for an hour.”

At the time of publication, the White House has yet to publicly comment on the death rumors.

It all started with the claim that Trump hadn’t been seen in two days, which was proven false by multiple reports. However, the White House’s silence on the rumors contributed to the speculation.

How is "glory" different from "ego"?

So... whenever people talk about God or how good heaven is etc, it's always using the term "glory".
Now maybe I just understand the word wrong, but I just can't get excited for that aspect of it all.

Because when I think "glory" I think of "ego", "esteem" "reputation" etc. A gladiator or prize fighter or professional boxer, gets into fights for "glory" and what is the "glory", a title, a decoration of some sort (like a championship belt), a symbol to show "how great" they are, to be praised and thought highly of. It's all for ego stroking.

So all the scenes in say Revelation 4, 5, 7, 15, and 19, the heavenly scenes, Isaiah 6, it all comes across as ego stroking.
and I can't help but feel massively disappointed at all of existence, if the whole point is.... ego stroking.
People suffered and died for that ego stroking if that's all that it is.

Help me make better sense of it. Because ego stroking is by definition, the most petty and vain thing.
The only other thing that is termed as "glory" biblically is.. glowing. IE when Moses saw God's back it made his face glow and they had to cover it with a veil.
Jesus in Revelation 1's appearance has his face glowing like the sun (and as an aside I don't know why people would find that particular part appealing, looking at the sun is painful, blinding even, it's literally an unfathomable amount of hydrogen bombs going off continually from 93 million miles away, who wants to look directly at a thermonuclear detonation?)

God is In Control

“O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving,
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God
And a great King above all gods,
In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for it was He who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.” (Psalm 95:1-5 NASB1995)

As I read this passage of Scripture this morning, what immediately came to mind is what is in our news here daily in the USA. For reading our news each day is like following a big soap opera on television. And by “soap opera” I mean that it is drama, drama, drama, with little real substance. The stories told are meant to stir our emotions and to get us upset or afraid or angry, and they are also intended as distractions from the real stories behind them. And what is really going on is far worse than what is often being portrayed.

We are definitely living in the last days before the return of Christ, and the evidence is all over the place. These are very confusing and troubled times in which we now live. The beast is rising and is taking over nations, and a New World Order is being formed before our eyes. And the gospel message in the USA has largely been altered and diluted to appease human flesh, and the church has largely been turned into marketplaces to be marketed to the people of the world and to entertain them and to blend in with the world.

There is not much of a difference between the church and the world anymore, for so much of what is called “church” has partnered with the world in an unholy union and they are now marketing the church to the world, both of which God forbids that we do. And so God is calling his worldly church to come out of the world, and to come out of these unholy unions so that he will receive them, and they will be his, and so they will not be punished along with the rest of Babylon, the harlot who deceives.

[Matthew 21:12-13; John 2:13-17; Acts 5:27-32; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22; Revelation 18:1-5]

And what put all this in my mind this morning was reading that the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods, in whose hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountains and the sea and the dry land are all his, and they are all under his control. In other words, there are no kings on this earth who can do what they do unless God allows it, for a time, and for a purpose. The Bible told us these days would come, and they are now upon us, but to what extent yet or the timing of which only God knows for sure.

But the other part of this is that we are not to be afraid of what is coming, for we were told ahead of time that these days would come, and God is still sovereign over all he created. And if we are his, by genuine biblical faith in Jesus Christ, he will carry us through whatever is about to come upon us, as a people, and as the nations of the world. We should be wholly aware that at any moment our world could come crashing down upon us, for that is what is being planned, and it is what the Bible said would come. But don’t fear!

Instead, we are to sing for joy to the Lord, and we are to shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. We are to come before His presence with thanksgiving, and we should shout joyfully to Him with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs unto the Lord. And we are to remember that God is God, and he is above all that is called “gods,” and he has all things in his hands, under his control. And no matter what comes our way, or when, if we are followers of Christ, walking in his ways, God will carry us through to the death.

But Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For Our Nation

An Original Work / September 11, 2012
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love
Recording Via Gerry Peters, music producer and arranger

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.

Playlist of Songs I Wrote

For those interested, here is a playlist where I am adding songs. They were written by me, but sung by AI. They are free.

Original Post

I have uploaded two songs I wrote, and then modified with the help of AI, which one do you like the best.

I initially wrote:

LORD you are Faithful,
* * * *
yes, you will stay
* * * *

You give us hope,
* * * *

let's continue to pray
* * * *

While we seek you,

* * * *

we will truely find
* * * *

No leaving us behind

* * * *

Just is our God
* * * *

He will us forgive

* * * *

He does not abandon
* * * *

those who now live
* * * *

He offers abiding hope

* * * *

Grace to overcome life,
* * * *

to more than cope
* * * *

We should not sin,
* * * *
Grieving His Spirit within
* * * *
But if we do,
* * * *
He advocates for you
* * * *

Reach Him this day
* * * *
Love He will display
* * * *

AI then modified it to:

[Verse 1]
LORD, You are faithful, yes, You will stay
You give us hope, let's continue to pray
While we seek You, we will find
Never leaving us behind

[Pre-Chorus]
Just is our God, He will forgive
He does not abandon those who now live

[Chorus] (Rock energy, strong guitar riffs)
He offers true hope, so we can cope
We lift our hearts, in You we find hope
Though we may sin, grieving Your Spirit within
You advocate for us, Your love will always win

[Verse 2]
Reach Him this day, His love on display
Guiding our steps, lighting our way
Through trials and pain, through night and rain
Your faithfulness, LORD, will always remain

[Pre-Chorus]
Just is our God, He will forgive
He does not abandon those who now live

[Chorus]
He offers true hope, so we can cope
We lift our hearts, in You we find hope
Though we may sin, grieving Your Spirit within
You advocate for us, Your love will always win

[Bridge] (Optional rock breakdown, slower, emotional)
Even in the shadow, You are there
Holding us close, in every prayer
We will not fear, for You are near
Faithful Lord, forever here

[Chorus / Outro – Full power]
He offers true hope, so we can cope
We lift our hearts, in You we find hope
Though we may sin, grieving Your Spirit within
You advocate for us, Your love will always win

Holy holy holy

Shalom

Can you please pray for me that I may understand what God's holiness really means, what holy truly is, so that I myself may live holy in Jesus' name?

Thank you so much for this!
The Lord bless you abundantly (Luke 6:38, Job 42:10) and bless Israel in Jesus' name. Amen!

Soli Deo Gloria

PS And I pray that the Lord will send out harvesters into his harvest (Matthew 9:38).

You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.

When you repent in prayer before God do you share the view presented in Psalm 51?
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy steadfast love; according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, so that thou art justified in thy sentence and blameless in thy judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Fill me with joy and gladness; let the bones which thou hast broken rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners will return to thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of thy deliverance.
O Lord, open thou my lips, and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.
For thou hast no delight in sacrifice; were I to give a burnt offering, thou wouldst not be pleased. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Do good to Zion in thy good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, then wilt thou delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on thy altar.
Psalms 51:1-19 RSV-CE

Detroit Seminary Faculty Member Criticizes Archbishop’s Dismissal of Theologians and Canonist

Writing anonymously, the staffer argues that the firings violated sections of the faculty handbook related to academic freedom, contracts and faculty dismissal.

A faculty member at an Archdiocese of Detroit seminary has criticized the local archbishop’s July 23 dismissal of three longtime faculty members, arguing that the firings violated sections of the faculty handbook related to academic freedom, contracts and faculty dismissal.

Writing anonymously, the faculty member also said that Archbishop Edward Weisenburger’s dismissal of the canonist Edward Peters and theologians Ralph Martin and Eduardo Echeverria from Sacred Heart Major Seminary (SHMS) has damaged the institution’s reputation and long-term health.

“Already these firings have generated a considerable amount of bad press for the seminary,” wrote the seminary employee in an Aug. 26 letter to the seminary’s board of trustees. “They have also raised doubts about the direction of the seminary in the minds of some of the bishops and religious communities who send seminarians to SHMS, which could well reduce seminary enrollment and income next year if confidence is not restored.”

The three-page letter, which was written on SHMS letterhead, was signed by “A Concerned Faculty Member” and posted online. The author, whose identity was confirmed by the Register, asked not to be named out of fear of reprisal.

Moral anarchy.

You live in a culture increasingly shaped by moral relativism, where truth is no longer received from divine or natural law but constructed according to personal preference. From a Catholic standpoint, this is moral anarchy—a rejection of objective moral norms that undermines both spiritual integrity and social cohesion. The Catechism reminds you that “freedom makes man responsible for his acts to the extent that they are voluntary” (CCC §1734), but this freedom must be ordered toward the good. Pope Benedict XVI warned against the “dictatorship of relativism,” which enthrones the self as the ultimate measure and corrodes the foundations of communion and justice.

Within the Church, you witness the corrosive effects of moral anarchy in doctrinal confusion, sacramental trivialisation, and ecclesial division. When moral teaching is treated as negotiable, the Church’s prophetic voice is muted. The sacraments, especially Confession and Eucharist, lose their transformative power if sin is redefined or denied. Factionalism arises when bishops, theologians, and laity interpret doctrine through ideological lenses rather than the deposit of faith. You are called to resist this fragmentation by reclaiming the moral clarity rooted in Scripture and Tradition.

In society, moral anarchy erodes the common good, destabilises law, and fractures the family. Without shared moral foundations, governance becomes arbitrary and justice unmoored. The family suffers when fidelity and parental authority are undermined. Cultural nihilism follows, breeding despair and violence. Your Catholic response must be evangelistic, not accommodating—proclaiming moral truth as liberation, not repression. As Fr Kevin Azubuike Iwuoha puts it, Christian ethics asks not “What can I do?” but “What ought I do?”—a question that presupposes objective truth and moral responsibility.

Prayer for relief from fear please

It’s bad. My nervous system is locking up my frontal lobes and shutting down my emotions by turns. Heart rate goes up by turns as well.

I need God to show me what course of action will resolve the fear, because I think my brain is afraid of a course of action, or something. But an overloaded brain isn’t really good at listening, so He needs to yell loud.

I’m going to go get some chamomile tea for temporary relief.
