  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Australia Phasing Out Cheques by 2030

(Australian) Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced on Wednesday morning that his government would be moving to phase out cheques by no later than 2030.

"We know that usage of cheques has been declining," he said.

"This is largely because digital transactions are easier, cheaper and more accessible. In fact, 98 per cent of retail cheques could be serviced through internet or mobile banking."

Cheques account for only 0.2% of all payments, according to figures from an Australian Banking Association (ABA) report.

Cheque processing is also costly with major banks charging between $7.50 and $15 to issue a check. Some banks also charge a fee for cheque cashing.

Based on 2022 data, 75% of consumer payments are now on credit/debit cards and only 0.2% by cheque:
  • Cheque: 0.2 per cent
  • Other: 12 per cent
  • Cash: 13 per cent
  • Credit and charge cards: 25 per cent
  • Debit cards: 50 per cent

Prayers for understanding and acceptance

I have been doing some research (more so reading the Controversial Christian Theology threads) and the doctrine of hell is really shaking me up. I think this is the first time I really sat and thought about what it means. The UR proponents make a better case philosophically, those is the CI camp make more sense logically, but the ED proponents seem to have Scripture lining up with them better. Its causing me some serious stress, so please pray the Spirit to reveal to me the truth and to understand and accept whatever it may be. Not only to accept it, but to be at peace with it because it is His will.

Edit: Changed ECT to ED, I want to be fair in how I portray each view.

Erasing Females: The Feminist Mystaque

This makes so much sense and ties into a question I had asked about marriage in the Advice forum.

Thoughts?

Note: This column is part of Scott Lively's series "30 Days of Pride-Month Push-Back."

"Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands" (Proverbs 14:1).

Betty Friedan, author of "The Feminine Mystique" in 1963, was one of the most toxic women ever empowered by Marxist radicalism. She was co-founder of one of the bloodiest abortion-pushing entities in American history, the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) and was cursed with a personality even her leftist allies at the New York Times characterized (in her obituary, no less) as "famously abrasive" … "thin-skinned and imperious, subject to screaming fits of temperament." But the most destructive part of her legacy was "Second Wave Feminism," which "The Feminine Mystique" was "credited" with triggering. Perhaps more than any other person, Friedan is responsible for weaponizing feminist grievances to poison women against home-based, family-centered lifestyles and transform them into aggressive workplace competitors with men, leveraging leftist power in the civil rights movement to achieve the cultural Marxist goal of "disintegration of … the monogamic and patriarchal family."

As a man who came of age in the 1970s I am a part of the first generation of males upon whom was imposed Friedan's feminist theory of social order by the American public-education cabal. We were the first to be indoctrinated in the false narrative that men and women are equal and interchangeable in all things, and that men's collective unfair past "oppression" of all women warranted new public policies and practices favoring the advancement of women in roles traditionally relegated to men. Men who declined to voluntarily defer or submit to women's leadership in this campaign were deemed "male chauvinist pigs," justifying anti-discrimination laws to punish those who stood in the way of "equality." I only broke free of that mindset when I became a Christian in my late 20s and started understanding God's plan for family.

Power in the name of Jesus!

Something amazing just happened to me! In the last few days I noticed my vision was getting a little blurry, I was concerned that my vision was going downhill and that I might eventually need glasses. However I laid my hand on my eyes and said "Vision be healed in the name of Jesus". Instantly my vision came into focus! If you have any pain or sickness in your body just lay your hands on it and tell it to be healed in Jesus' name! There is power in the name! A lot of power!

not sure what to expect

well, hello there everyone.
My name is Mike, I'm 40yrs old from Minnesota and plan on going to bible college and seminary in the near future. as of now i am completely self-taught aside from my childhood spent in church, Sunday school, church school etc. Although I'm not new to my walk of faith, I am new to an Online Forum of any sorts, so I'm not sure what to expect by being here. however, I am Excited to share with a community of many other believers from all walks of faith. my particular area of interest includes apologetics, and defense of the gospel. truth be told i just love coming up with good sermons and sharing the word of God, but one of my far favorite pastimes is a good debate with an unbeliever or someone who considers themselves a believer but whose doctrines are not sound.

Did Daniels AOD and The Great Tribulation Take Place In 66-70AD Jerusalem, As Reformed Preterist Eschatology Claims?

The temple destruction talked about In Matthew 24:2, Mark 13:2, was symbolically the Lord's body as John 2:19-21 teaches below

Daniel's AOD, The Great Tribulation, and The Second Coming are "Future Events" unfulfilled

Daniel's AOD causes the great tribulation, Jesus returns immediately after the tribulation, this didn't take place in 66-70AD Jerusalem, Reformed Preterist Eschatology in 66-70AD fulfillment is "Wrong"

John 2:19-21KJV

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

Pretty hard to have a Great Tribulation in 66-70AD and Jesus Christ returning (Immediately After The Tribulation) as seen below, reformed preterist eschatology in 66-70AD fulfillment is "Wrong"

Matthew 24:29-30KJV

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

The Two Witnesses Are Raised To Heaven (The End)

The Two Witnesses Are Raised To Heaven And "The Same Hour" is the great earthquake as the 2nd woe is complete

"Yes" the 3rd woe is the 7th Angel/Trump that comes "Quickly" (The End)

"No" gap of days exist's between the 2nd/3rd woe below as many claim

"Yes" Revelation 11:18 is the "Final Judgement" (The End)

(The Time Of The Dead, That They Should Be Judged)

Revelation 11:12-18KJV

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
15 And the seventh angel sounded;
and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

(When He Shall Begin To Sound)

Revelation 10:7KJV
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Hello

My name is Frederick (Rick) Eldridge, I am new here. I am an American who lives in Jordan. The Father called my wife here back in 2015. We began the process of selling and planning our move here in Jordan. We moved here in July 2016. We have seen God move mightily in miracles and people's hearts. On September 8th of September 2022, she died and went on to other assignments with Yeshua. I have to learn what it is to be alone again. It is not easy, but with YHVH's help I am able to get through each day.

NYC drops changes against President Trump

Good Day.

I never really though NYC prosecutors had the skills to take on tax attorneys and win. Seems they now have confirmed my inclination.

Snip ....Scored a legal victory on Thursday after a New York prosecutor confirmed her two-year-long investigation into the Trump Organization's valuation of a golf club was closed without any criminal charges being filed.

Trump wins massive legal battle as prosecutors drop case

In Him,

Bill

I am nothing with out God.

I believe this is the most damaging thing Christians have said. It negates a relationship with God or any other human being. A relationship is a two way street with man or God. How can one have a relationship if one believes they are nothing, worthless deserving of death? Believing you are nothing and worthless is what people believe when in a major depressive episode.

Judaism

Why don't Christians study the Jewish perspective of the Old Testament? I believe that Judaism is the father of Catholicism and the grandfather of Protestantism. I have found some fascinating perspectives from Jewish traditions. Some of those traditions we may not agree with I think some give a greater understanding of the New Testament.

California Bill Would Charge Any Parent Who Doesn’t Affirm Transgenderism With ‘Child Abuse’

A recently amended California bill would add “affirming” the sexual transition of a child to the state’s standard for parental responsibility and child welfare—making any parent who doesn’t affirm transgenderism for their child guilty of abuse under California state law.

AB 957 passed California’s State Assembly on May 3, but a co-sponsor amended it after hours in California’s State Senate on June 6.

California courts would be given complete authority under Section 3011 of California’s Family Code to remove a child from his or her parents’ home if parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology.

Seeking Jesus in Order to Find Him

Luke 19:1-10 ESV

“He entered Jericho and was passing through. And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.’ So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully.
“And when they saw it, they all grumbled, ‘He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.’ And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’”

This story is another one of those “divine appointments.” Have you ever experienced something you believe was a “divine appointment”? Oh, I have for sure. And I get amazed on a regular basis at how God orchestrates so many things in my life and at how they all come together in a way that can only be through his direction. Sometimes it is a sequence of events that end up all fitting together for one specific purpose. And sometimes he has me at a specific place at a particular time just so I will talk with someone.

Now back in that time, tax collectors were regarded as “sinners,” probably because they were known to be crooked people who cheated the people, or because the people just didn’t like being taxed, or they felt the tax was unfair and extreme. Whatever the cause, the people did not like tax collectors. And, although we are all born into sin into this world, and even though some who were accusing them of being “sinners” were also sinners, in practice, the tax collectors were regarded with disdain.

And Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector and was rich. But when he was being drawn to faith in Jesus Christ by God the Father (John 6:44), none of that mattered anymore to him. For his seeking of Jesus was obviously not just out of curiosity. God was drawing him to seek Jesus in truth and in righteousness, i.e. for the right reasons, that he might put his faith in him. And this was Zacchaeus’ divine appointment with Jesus Christ which would change his life forever!

Now I just love this part. Zacchaeus’ thirst to know who Jesus was was not hindered by the fact that he was short and that he could not see over the crowd. His hunger to know Jesus was so strong that he found a way to see him by climbing up in a tree. In fact he ran ahead and climbed up into that tree. Now that is what I call “seeking Jesus”. And that is the kind of passion we are to have for our Lord when we seek him, too. And no amount of roadblocks should discourage us from seeking him, either.

Now, none of this just happened. This was God’s divine appointment for Zacchaeus, regardless of what was going through this man’s mind at that time, for clearly God was drawing him to faith in Jesus Christ. For when Jesus called to Zacchaeus to hurry and to come down, for he must stay at his house that day, Zacchaeus did not hesitate one second, but he hurried, and he came down out of that tree, and he received Jesus joyfully.

And so I relate this to God’s call to us, whether we don’t know him at all, or whether we know him but presently we are not living for him as we ought. He is telling us to hurry and come to him and to let him dwell within us. And this is a call to a change of heart and mind and behaviors. And he is saying “hurry” because time is running out and there may not be much time left before we die or before the world comes to an end and Jesus returns and then it is too late for us if we have not followed him with our lives.

But so many people who are being called of God are dragging their feet, and they are not listening to the Lord, and they are continuing in their sins, and so they are resisting the Spirit, and they are putting off what they know they need to do. And for some of them, they will never make that decision, and then it will be too late. For many are called, but few are chosen. But we all have a choice to make, too, and none of us is without excuse if we choose our sin over God and if we refuse to repent and follow Jesus in obedience.

Now when the people saw Jesus receiving Zacchaeus, many of them grumbled and complained that Jesus had gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner. But Jesus didn’t become his guest just so they could hang out together and talk about all the latest gossip or news or about all the latest fads and gadgets and games that were out now. Jesus went to that man’s house with one specific purpose in mind, which was to save his soul from hell and to receive him into God’s eternal kingdom. And we should be doing the same.

Because Zacchaeus’ heart was being drawn to genuine faith in Jesus Christ, he repented of his sins, and he offered to make restitution for all that he had done wrong. And that is what it looks like when our faith is genuine. We are crucified with Christ in death to sin, and we are raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer living as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness (Romans 6:1-23). The old is gone. The new has come. We aren’t the same people we were before. Jesus Christ has made us new! Our hearts and minds and actions are no longer the same.

So, please know that salvation from sin doesn’t come to us through us giving lip service to God. And salvation from sin is not just God forgiving us our sins and then him promising us heaven when we die. Jesus died that we might die with him to sin and live to his righteousness. He died to free us from our slavery (addiction) to sin so that we might now walk in holiness and in righteousness in obedience to our Lord’s commands (New Covenant).

So, if we choose to continue living in deliberate and habitual sin, then we must know that we will not inherit eternal life with God. See:

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:6,14-15; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Seek the Lord

An Original Work / July 20, 2012
Based off Isaiah 55

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”

Can a VP have classified materials/can they declassify - fact check

I've seen several of Donald's ardent believers claim that Vice Presidents aren't allowed to have classified documents or that they don't have the ability to declassify.

The issue of access is easy to dismiss. Jack Teixeira is an Air Force Sr Airman had a top secret clearance, and while he couldn't take them home, he did have access to them. Same with your average 1st term member of Congress, defense contractor or communications specialist with the State Department. Vice President's have much greater access to sensitive documents than any of them do. But can a Vice President declassify?

According to a 2009 Executive Order yes.
Sec. 1.3. Classification Authority. (a) The authority to classify information originally may be exercised only by:

(1) the President and the Vice President;

According to this XO, Vice President's have the ability to classify and the ability to declassify.
Numerous fact checks have existed since Jan 2023 showing that to be the case.

Catholic Church With ‘God Is Trans’ Exhibit to Host ‘Pride Mass’ at New York City Monument

The Church of St. Paul the Apostle announced that on June 22 it is celebrating a Mass outdoors at the Stonewall National Monument.

The Catholic church in New York City that hosted a controversial art display called “God Is Trans” is now hosting a “Pride Mass” at a monument commemorating a June 1969 LGBT uprising.

The Church of St. Paul the Apostle announced that on June 22 it is celebrating a Mass outdoors at the Stonewall National Monument in New York City, a national park associated with the June 28, 1969, uprising at The Stonewall Inn.

The “Pride Mass” is set to take place in the month the Catholic Church designates for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. June is also the month known as “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month,” which LGBT activists designated to commemorate the uprising at a bar requented by homosexuals that was the site of a violent revolt against law enforcement during a police raid.

The Mass will take place in a park where there are transgender and “Pride” flags as well as sculptures of two homosexual couples titled “Gay Liberation.”

The park is located in the West Village neighborhood of Greenwich Village, which is approximately 4 miles from the Church of St. Paul the Apostle on the Upper West Side.

One moral theologian told CNA that celebrating the Mass with a political end is inappropriate and “possibly sacrilegious.” A canon lawyer has also questioned the liturgical necessity of celebrating the Mass outside of a sacred place, calling the choice of location “opportunistic for sensational reasons.”

$25 Million awarded to ex-Starbucks Manager for Race-based Firing

When your nation is so preoccupied with political correctness you forgot to be just correct. A white Starbucks manager was fired for refusing 2 black individuals from using the premise toilet. Reason? They were not paying customers. According to report the 2 individuals said they were waiting for a business partner to arrive. Subsequently they were requested to leave the premises and another employee called the police on them when they refuse to comply.

This caused a storm of controversy which to the absolute surprise of no one surrounds racism. If you were to analyze the situation it had nothing to do with race but a run of the mill customer vs company policy issue. Why it turn into a racial issue is not so much the skin color of the people involved but the political environment the US is currently in. Hyper sensitivity to political correctness to the point of absurdity. Fomented by ideologues over the past 2 decades, society itself is now poisoned to view everything through the lens of melanin.

Back in present day, the white ex-manager just won a lawsuit against Starbucks for her racial firing. $25 million worth lawsuit. Some might be saying that the termination was not racially motivated rather just Starbucks throwing meat to a pack of wolves, however there was a black manager in the store who got off scot free from the ordeal. And the jury concluded otherwise.

All these would have been water under the bridge if it was not for the climate being intoxicated with political correctness, CRT, wokeness and all the race based rhetorics. In a way the ex-manager and the 2 individuals were not the provocateurs but rather the victims of the stupidity that is current day America. Play with fire and you're bound to get burnt.

Excelsior!

EGW and the word of knowledge.

Mrs White held the office of prophet from the early days of the movement.
She would show up in places where she would declare happenings that were unknown to those townspeople, be it men with more than one family, embezzlers and others.
God would reveal things to her and the fear of God would be upon all those present.
The revelation would frequently be about things that only God knew.
Later in life she would reveal through her writings insight about scriptural events that remain unparalleled to this day.
Letters and articles were used to keep up with developments within the SDA, especially if these were deemed dangerous to the future of the movement.
Her correspondence reflected singleness of purpose and acute sense of vigilance for the well-being of those within the movement.

To be honest with you all I have been using these forums playing games instead of legitimate advice. My parents raised me a reprobate unfortunately through the public school system
Here’s a sermon on that.
