Oakland stuck in a ‘doom loop’ as residents flee and crime rises

“Oakland residents are sick and tired of our intolerable public safety crisis that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities,” Cynthia Adams, president of the Oakland branch of the NAACP, and Bishop Bob Jackson, senior pastor at Acts Full Gospel Church, wrote in a joint statement.
“Murders, shootings, violent armed robberies, home invasions, car break-ins, sideshows, and highway shootouts have become a pervasive fixture of life in Oakland,” they continued. “We call on all elected leaders to unite and declare a state of emergency and bring together massive resources to address our public safety crisis.”
The problem is that those who advocated woke policies always blame the resulting problems on others rather than admit their far left policies have failed.
The people have to consider, at least consider, not automatically voting for progressive Democrats.

Eclipse Maps April 8 2024

Many states within the solar eclipse's path of totality have issued warnings in the weeks leading up to the astronomical phenomenon.

On April 8, the moon will be positioned so that the entire disc of the sun will be blocked out in several U.S. states, plunging millions of people into darkness during the early afternoon. The path of totality will start in Mexico and extend across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine before heading out over the North Atlantic.
The spectacle is expected to draw crowds from around the nation as people head to areas in the path of totality to witness the eclipse. Officials across the nation have voiced concerns about stretched public safety resources, an "enormous strain" on local hospitals and congested roadways.

At least four states within the path of totality have urged residents to stock up on groceries before the eclipse. Some officials have already issued disaster declarations ahead of the event, and some schools have decided to close, citing student safety.

I’ve never done this…

Not new to the faith, and frankly disappointed in this post myself. I’ve had a particularly challenging situation in my career that has really discouraged me over the past few months. I can candidly say I’ve prayed on more than many occasions for my will, and not much for his will over this situation. I fully recognize that, although I must say I am finding myself to have a lot of disappointment right now in God. I realize I’m not right in my frustration, but that’s how I feel. It feels like God had me on the edge of success on so many occasions throughout this…only for me to be let down over and over again. I’m sure he has a reason for it, but this sure hurts. Not necessarily looking for dialogue or guidance on this, just felt I needed to put my feelings on paper, or this forum. Hmm….what a bummer. There is still a small opportunity things go my way. I know god is always good, and with me through it. That alone should make me feel better…but it just isn’t right now. Prayers for that.

Personal reasons why I don't share the gospel

Hi,

Maybe some have the same problem as I do.
The reason why I don't share the gospel, is because I don't want to be friends with everyone.
They say keep your circle small, is less exhausting, especially as an introvert that I am.
Thing is we select our friends, we want to spend time with people we can get along with.
Fact is we cannot get along with everyone for example if the social class and culture is different for example.

Was I Convicted Or Was I Just Scared?

Normally, I've been listening to Christian music, with the exception of a few secular oldies songs like Lean On Me that I know are good. Just last night, I had a slip-up. I haven't found any Christian heavy metal bands that sound like Lacuna Coil, Delain, or Within Temptation yet, but some of the songs from those bands I used to listen to popped into my head. Last night, I looked up the lyrics of those songs to see how bad they were and I did not hear any cusses, hear anything sexual, hear anything violence, hear anything about drugs, or hear about any other sins (that I know of) and I didn't hear them glorifying Satan at all. I remember the first verse of Breakdown by Lacuna Coil said something about being numb to whatever pain they were feeling and no longer hurting. Then, the chorus said, "it's not too late to take control I embrace the pain that breaks me down". The other lyrics to the other songs I looked up just talked about their failed relationships and their pain they felt trapped in. Yes, I admit that song and the others I liked were a little dark because they're metal, but I didn't think those lyrics were really that bad, unless maybe I'm missing something or don't understand what those lyrics mean. Anyway, I thought I won't listen to those songs all the time, but maybe it'll be alright, if I listen to them once in a while, since I don't think the lyrics are that bad. Well, Breakdown by Lacuna Coil was the first song I listened to. I only listened to it for a little bit because as soon as I turned it on, I didn't enjoy it like I used to and I just felt really scared. I felt as if I was a kid and my parents told me not to do something and didn't say why, but I wanted to see for myself what would happen, if I did it and as I was doing it, I got scared because I didn't want them to find out, but I knew they would, except I know God knows what I do. I'm confused because I did ask God for forgiveness for listening to that song a little bit just in case and I put my Christian music back on, but I don't know, if my feeling scared was God convicting me and telling me I shouldn't listen to those metal songs because they're bad even though I don't hear anything bad in them or if it's just me being scared of making God angry and putting too much pressure on myself to be perfect? What do you guys think? All thoughts are welcome. I apologize, if I put this in the wrong topic, I know questions should go in the Request for Advice topic, but the issue is I did actually have a testimony and that's why I put it in this topic.

Do your elders and pastor share the gospel ?

Hi,

There is a difference between preaching the gospel and sharing the gospel. Sharing the gospel is more personal. What I have observed it seems the elders and pastor dont really share the gospel. They let the sharing of the gospel to the other members of the church. I dont think it should be like this, everyone is suppose to share the gospel. Being elder or pastor, they should lead by example imo. Maybe they do and I am not aware of this, idk....

Br,

Is the Catholic Church the Harlot of Babylon?

A close look at what the Bible says

There are a lot of folks who have been taught that the Roman Catholic Church is the harlot of Babylon that is spoken of in chapter 17 of the Book of Revelation: “I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of blasphemous names…and on her forehead was written a name of mystery: ‘Babylon the great, mother of harlots…” (vv. 3-5).

They point to two main verses to “prove” that the woman (the harlot) is the Roman Catholic Church. Those verses are: 1) Rev 17:9…“This calls for a mind with wisdom; the seven heads are seven hills on which the woman is seated,” and 2) Rev 17:18…“And the woman that you saw is the great city which has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

“See,” they say, “the seven hills means Rome, which is a city that sits on seven hills. The Catholic Church is headquartered in Rome. And, Rome was the great city that had dominion over the kings of the earth. Therefore, the harlot of Babylon is a world-wide religion that is based in Rome.” Wow. Open and shut case, right? Well, not so fast.

I’m going to make the case, using just the Bible, as to why I believe the harlot of Babylon is not the Catholic Church, but rather the city of Jerusalem. Let’s look a little more closely at some of these verses from Revelation 17.

Revelation 17:1, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters.” How is the nation of Israel often referred to in the Old Testament? As a harlot. Why? Because Israel quite often would forsake worship of the one true God, and would turn instead to the worship of false gods. The relationship between God and Israel is frequently described in marital terms. Therefore, when Israel would forsake her true Spouse, she was described as a harlot…a harlot. Hosea 9:1, “Rejoice not, O Israel! Exult not like the peoples; for you have played the harlot, forsaking your God. You have loved a harlot’s hire upon all threshing floors.” So, we see from the Old Testament that Israel is often referred to as a harlot.

Revelation 17:3, “…and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.” And, verse 9-10: “This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven hills on which the woman is seated; they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come….” What do we see here? We see that the seven hills pertain to the beast on which the woman is seated, not the woman herself. I believe, as do most folks I’ve read– Catholic and Protestant — that the beast is symbolic of Rome and the Roman Empire. So, again, the seven hills are referring to the beast the woman is seated upon, not the woman herself. But, if Rome is the beast, then that “proves” the woman sitting on the beast is the Catholic Church, right? Again, not so fast.

What REALLY happened in Genesis CH 3. Let's look at it, outside the box.

Genesis 3:15: And I will make you (Satan) and the woman (Eve) hate each other, and "your seed" (Speaking to Satan) and "her seed" (Speaking to Eve) will hate each other.)

Where it says "Her Seed" That means physical, human beings... The same hermetical rule, applies to "Your seed" Satan's seed is also physical.

Now IF you are one of those people who doesn't understand the scriptures, allow me to clarify.

The serpent WAS NOT a snake, the serpent was cursed later, and the curse was that he crawl on his belly, so he did become a snake, but previously he was more of a hybrid, beast, man mix. This is why Eve was NOT shocked when he spoke to her.

The old English meaning of fruit and midst, and other words in the text, throughout the scriptures, and her being deceived IE. seduced means there was a sexual event between her and the hybrid.

This was to ruin the linage of Jesus, and this is not the only time Satan tried to do this.

Also this is why the religious leaders said to Jesus, "we were not born from fornication or adultery, after Jesus said "You are of YOUR FATHER The Devil. Jesus was NOT speaking metaphorically here.

Gillespie County TX GOP moved to count ballots by hand in its primary. It had to fix errors in the results reported from almost every precinct

They counted primary ballots by hand. Now a Texas county Republican party says they found errors.

An hour after Gillespie County Republican Party Chairman Bruce Campbell declared the hand-counted primary election results completely accurate and certified them as final, he found another discrepancy.

The election was a low-profile party primary, but stakes are high. Gillespie County Republicans, led by Campbell, decided months ago to hand-count more than 8,000 ballots. Experts agree and studies show the method is time-consuming, costly, less accurate, and less secure than using machines, but local Republicans, citing unsupported concerns about the accuracy of voting machines, were determined to try and show otherwise.

Texas requires partial recounts only for ballots that are tabulated electronically — there is no provision in state law to require the local GOP to recount these ballots or audit the results of the hand count.

Scott Netherland, the election judge for Precinct 6, turned in all of the necessary paperwork to the elections office just before midnight on election night, believing it all checked out. When he woke up the next day, he decided to double-check the results. [He found he made mistakes, including one race with more votes than voters.]

Netherland said he immediately contacted Campbell, then rushed to the elections office to review tally sheets. In doing so, he realized that multiple other precincts also had reported clearly inaccurate totals.

Netherland said he still isn’t confident the election results are accurate, based on the errors that he and others have found.

On Thursday, Netherland said the Republican Party in Gillespie has introduced human error into the election process with the hand count.

“We took something that worked and now broke it,” Netherland said. “We failed to guard the purity of the election with this hand count. What we just did is evidence that this hand count was not accurate.”

9 questions about the Illuminati you were too afraid to ask

When it comes to shadowy cabals that supposedly control the world, the Illuminati should be at the top of any conspiracy theorist's list. An Illuminati Facebook page has 3.4 million likes, Madonna writes songs about the group, and YouTube channels calling pretty much everyone Illuminati notch almost 200,000 subscribers.

To sort out the truth about the Illuminati, I consulted a variety of experts on the subject. Mark A. Fenster, a law professor at the University of Florida and author of Conspiracy Theories: Secrecy and Power in American Culture, sums up the group’s long-lasting appeal. “It’s absurd on its face that you’ve got this sacred group that’s more than 300 years old and continue to see arguments about its relevance today,” he says. “The fact that the discussion is alive is amazing.”

The Illuminati wasn't always just some crazy chimera — it used to be a very real group with ambitious goals. And even though it doesn't exist anymore, the fact that many people still have paranoid beliefs about it reveals a lot about power, our culture — and, of course, what we think about Jay Z.

1) What is the Illuminati?

Protection, deliverance

Hello,
I was hoping someone could please help me out. I've gone through demonic possession\oppression since many years ago, and just haven't been able to rid all the demons off of myself, from home. Any chance someone wouldn't mind sharing some prayers, giving suggestions that would be effective in removing them permanently from myself, and the home? I am desperate. Please also could really use your prayers for protection and deliverance. Thank you so much!

Two men arrested for going after the most dangerous game with tactical gear, night vision goggles, and unregistered AR-style rifles

I'm sorry, did I say "the most dangerous game"? I meant protected burros.

At around 1 a.m. local time, the two men fired on wild donkeys, or burros, killing three of the animals. One animal was paralyzed and in "severe pain before it died," prosecutors said.

Both Arnet and Feikema were charged with a felony count of possession of an unregistered firearm, and a misdemeanor count of maliciously causing the death of a burro on public lands. Both men pleaded guilty to the charges, and as part of their plea agreement, agreed to forfeit the rifles, night vision goggles, and other gear, including over 4,000 rounds of ammunition.

They each face up to 10 years in prison for the firearm charge and one year in prison for the charge of killing the burros.

Why did Jesus compare the Cross to Nehushtan?

Numbers 21:

9 So Moses made a bronze [H5178] snake [H5175, G3789] and mounted it on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze snake, he would live.
John 3:

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent [G3789] in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
Jesus compared the Cross to Moses' bronze serpent, drawing a parallel between these two events. The bronze serpent was mounted up for the healing of the Israelites; Jesus would be lifted up on the Cross for the salvation of all who believe in Him. The bronze snake foreshadowed salvation through faith in Jesus on the Cross. Believers look upon Him, the crucified Savior, in faith to receive spiritual healing and eternal life.

Moses made the bronze serpent for good. Centuries later, it became an idol. 2 Kings 18:

4 [Hezekiah] removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.)
Strong's Hebrew: 5180. נְחֻשְׁתָּן (Nechushtan) — 1 Occurrence

Why did Jesus compare the Cross to Nehushtan?

Jesus did not compare the Cross to Hezekiah's burning of Nehushtan. He compared the Cross to Moses' raising up the bronze snake for healing.

Hello!

Hi! I'm new to the forum as a member, but I've been reading for awhile. I just wanted to say that you have all been a great encouragement to me. I felt as if I was the only one going through all this and that I was a terrible Christian for having this struggle with scrupulosity, but you have helped show me that those feelings aren't true, even though they shriek that they are. I hope to post more as I can, but I wanted to start off with a thank you!

Trump says Jewish Democrats ‘hate’ their religion and Israel

Former president Donald Trump again claimed that the Democratic Party “hates Israel” and that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats “hate” their religion, echoing previous attacks he has made about Jewish Democrats.

The comments were part of a lengthy interview with far-right former adviser Sebastian Gorka that was posted online Monday.

“Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion,” Trump added.

Trump, in his interview with Gorka, went on a lengthy rant about the Democratic Party and Jewish Democrats. Doubling down on his attack on Schumer, the former president claimed that the Senate majority leader “was always pro-Israel” but that he’s “very anti-Israel now.”

In a post Monday on X, Schumer said that making “Israel a partisan issue only hurts Israel and the US-Israeli relationship.”

Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League, criticized Trump’s remarks.

“Accusing Jews of hating their religion because they might vote for a particular party is defamatory and patently false,” he said in a statement. “Serious leaders who care about the historic US-Israel alliance should focus on strengthening, rather than unraveling, bipartisan support for the State of Israel.”

[Trump campaign spox backs him up to the hilt.] “President Trump is right — the Democrat Party has turned into a full-blown anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, pro-terrorist cabal,” Karoline Leavitt, the campaign’s national press secretary, said in a statement.

[Funny thing about cabal -- it derives etymologically from Kabbalah.]

[There have been several other similar statements from Trump, including...]

His use of the word “disloyalty” immediately drew criticism from Jewish groups that said Trump was echoing antisemitic tropes about where American Jews’ loyalty lies.

‘Two-parent married family’ promotes white supremacy, says George Mason University professor

But scholars say marriage benefits society, minorities included

“Marriage fundamentalism” advances “white supremacy,” according to a George Mason University professor.

“I theorize that marriage fundamentalism, like structural racism, is a key structuring element of White heteropatriarchal supremacy,” Professor Bethany Letiecq wrote in the Journal of Marriage and Family.

“Marriage fundamentalism can be understood as an ideological and cultural phenomenon, where adherents espouse the superiority of the two-parent married family,” she (pictured) wrote.

She did not respond to two emailed requests for comment on her views sent in the past three weeks. The Fix asked if she would support government support for marriage, such as tax breaks, if they were better tailored to benefit all racial groups.

Letiecq employs “critical family theorizing…to delineate an overarching orientation to structural oppression and unequal power relations that advantages [white heteropatriarchal nuclear families] and marginalizes others as a function of marriage fundamentalism.”

Letiecq says the government has coerced “its citizens to enter into an institution built upon White heteropatriarchal supremacy.” Letiecq says marriage as an institution has allowed white heterosexual couples “to gain access to benefits, rights, and protections.”
