  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Massive mob ransacks Oakland gas station as store owner says police after car crashes through window

Video of Oakland robbery aftermath:

When the owner called the Oakland Police Department upon arriving at the 76, he was allegedly told to “file a report online.” The owner then tried contacting OPD police chief Floyd Mitchell but was told he had to make an appointment. This will be the rest of the U.S. unless wokeness is stopped.

What did Jesus mean when He said, ‘Judge not lest ye be judged?’ Not what many people think He meant...

Jesus said (Matthew 7:1): “Judge not lest ye be judged.” And many people since, including many Christians catechized by modern culture, have translated this to mean that the whole law and the prophets – indeed, the whole teaching of Christianity, is that Christians should simply refrain from assessing what others are and do. Especially, it seems, if what they are and do contradicts Christianity. It’s devilish madness, of course. And even as a matter of sheer logic, so obviously impossible and self-contradictory, that it’s hard to believe such nonsense has become so widely accepted as the very essence of what it means to be Christian.

And yet it has. And has been reinforced – intentionally or not – even within the Church. It’s become tiresome to have to point out how even the current pope and others close to him feed these confusions. But let us gird up our loins and, once again, try to make sense about this crucial matter.

The root of the recent problem began, of course, with the pope’s infamous remark – “Who am I to judge?” – on a plane back from Brazil early in his pontificate. A reporter asked about Battista Ricca, a prelate with a notoriously homosexual past in Uruguay, whom Francis had just appointed as director of the Casa Santa Marta, the Vatican guest house where the pope has chosen to live. (Francis’s remark actually wasn’t a judgment about homosexuality in general. It was – properly – conditional: “If someone is gay and is searching for the Lord and has good will, then who am I to judge him?”)

The smart-aleck response to “Who am I to judge?,” however, has been given for all time: “Who do you need to be?” And anyway, the reporter hadn’t asked what Francis thought about homosexuality. If you’re the pope, you’re the one who has to decide who is suitable, and not, for many sensitive positions serving God’s faithful people in the Church – like the place where you and many of your colleagues will be living. You’re not, at the moment, being asked about someone’s eternal destiny. So why pivot to a current cliché?

There’s no avoiding making such judgments, which may prove to be wise – or, as in this case, not, given the predictable misinterpretation of the pope’s words. And in the Church, as in all human institutions, such judgments inescapably involve not only competence, but morals.

The First Resurrection

Acts 26:23
that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.”

Colossians 1:18
He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

Revelation 1:5
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has released us from our sins by His blood,

Why is Jesus Christ referred to as the first to rise from the dead; the firstborn from the dead?

Trump's policies discussion

You know, a chat about how he's going to send a few million immigrants to...wherever. How the country to which they'll be sent might react. The repercusions. His tarriff proposals. The possibility of dumping NATO. Not giving Ukraine any support. Coming out of the Paris Accord - again. Tax cuts for the big end of town.

Feel free to adress some or all of those points and any others, and quote the guy as necessary. But please, no schoolyard arguments along the line of 'But sir, sir. The other guy started it.' No trite arguments that 'he can't do any worse'. How about we concentrate just on Trump and look at specific pros and cons.

Global warming

I am not sure why some Christians don't believe in global warming. I mean, Revelation 16:9 talks about great heat, which might be referring to global warming.

Besides, the motivation of minimizing or denying global warming is to allow industries to continue to emit gas. But, again, I don't think Christians should support it. Because microchip being mark of the beast and industries polluting the environment goes hand in hand. Of course, pollution itself is not the mark of the beast, but it is similar concept: manmade tampering with stuff God created (whether it be tampering with the environment through pollution or tampering with human bodies by inserting microchip implant).

Some Christians quote Genesis in support to being able to continue pollute the planet: basically they say God entrusted them with the role of making their own decisions of what to do with the animals or plants. But I don't think this is a good argument. Being entrusted with a role doesn't mean you can do bad things. On the contrary it means you are responsible in treating well something you been entrusted with.

Incidentally, some Christians talk about chem trails that they claim servants of future antichrist are deliberately creating. So, if they believe chem trails are a bad thing, why would they say it is just fine to pollute environment in more conventional ways?

What is the SDA position on abortion?

Hi all. I want to clarify what is the SDA position on abortion?

I was talking to an Adventist in leadership, high up in the education system. He spoke about his trip to Auschwitz and seeing firsthand one of the places of the holocaust.

I replied saying yes it was a horrific tragedy. But there's a modern holocaust happening as we speak, occurring everyday. And that modern holocaust is the taking of unborn lives, in the vast majority of cases for the reason of expediency, unrelated to the health of the mother or child.

His response? Nothing. I mentioned it there times and all three times, no response. All I could think of was, "Wow. You make a fuss of keeping the "Sabbath", not eating "unclean" foods but don't care less about the killing of unborn children. That's awesome".

So what is the official SDA position of abortion, not related to the mother or the child being in immediate danger of life? And what do you think of an Adventist leader not caring at all about it?

What is God's Calendar ?

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. (Genesis 1:14-15)

As December winds up, many people look forward to a new year, and with it, consider hopes and dreams for accomplishing goals. However, many Bible readers are unaware that the calendar most of the world follows today is not the biblical calendar God set back in Genesis and Exodus—and the new year doesn’t begin in January. Indeed, God has a calendar, and the Bible tells us all about it. His is a different system of days, months, years, and seasons than what we follow today—and there is much we can learn from it about God and how He has operated over time.

Ultimately, Satan does not want God’s people to follow the biblical calendar because like so many other types and shadows in the Old Testament, it points to Israel’s Messiah and affirms the accuracy of God’s Word. Satan’s goal has always been to lie and deceive. Even Daniel said: “He will think to change times (seasons) and laws” (Daniel 7:25).

It was decided that Wednesday 2nd September 1752 would be followed by Thursday 14th September 1752, losing the people 11 days.

Orange Is the New Black

So the debate has inevitably spawned multiple memes. The most surprising one of course, was the one that resulted from a speech Biden gave a few days later.

Mr Biden’s family was concerned about his make-up at the presidential debate against Trump on Thursday, when he appeared “pale and pallid”, according to a report in the New York Times.
Four days later, Mr Biden had a darker complexion more often associated with Trump’s love of fake tan.

People are having some fun with this...here's a couple of examples.

orange-biden16.png

And my personal favorite....
orange-biden12.png

Some will see this as childish....but it highlights (pun intended) the real problem with the Biden-Harris Administration. Joe is a rubber stamp...not a leader. He ran in 2020 on "bridging the divide" between left and right and undoing all the wrong done by Trump. Now he's literally just doing Trump's platform....putting an end to asylum, tariffs on China, etc. One might ask...why?

The answer is simple...because he's a rubber stamp. He has no real platform or direction....he does as he's told. This is great if you're some bureaucrat with big dreams but no real power...you've got a rubber stamp. It's also great if you're some idealogue with no clue how the world works and you believe in open borders or all EV vehicles by 2030....rubber stamp. After all, you can't be blamed if these things fail...Joe will....
If you're wondering why Joe is still running....that's why. The regular Democratic Party establishment is still robbing the public and taking big money from corporations that want cheap labor. The idealogues will go along with almost anything (except supporting Israel or fixing higher education) as long as they get to inject their ideological nonsense into public school children and they get to try their fantasy version of a society where criminals run free, borders are open, "sustainable energy" isn't restricted by math or reality, and political opponents silenced or jailed.
The problem they seem to have failed to see is that a rubber stamp isn't a leader. It's not something to vote for. Democracy has an intrinsic aspect of accountability....if someone does a poor job, they can be replaced during the next election. The people who have their agendas rubber stamped by Joe are faceless....we don't know exactly who they are. In 2021 and early 2022...Joe would stand in front of the press, make statements, and then a day later the "white house" would explain that he made a mistake and those things he said he would do....aren't what he's doing. By late 2022...Joe slips and says "I do what they tell me to do" (paraphrasing) more than once. It's hard for anyone to convincingly suggest that Biden will improve over the next 4 years. If anyone imagines Harris will do better...consider how little she's actually done under an administration where a capable VP should have shined like a lighthouse in a fog. As comedian Tim Dillon put it...."she sounds like she speaks in gypsy curses".
These aren't reasons to vote for Trump. Obviously, some people will not vote for Trump if Biden died, they threw some aviator sunglasses on him, and his corpse was shuffled around the world in some weird "Weekend At Bernie's" type scenario. I understand that some vote blue no matter who. If however, you don't, consider the message you are sending to the Democratic Party if you vote for Biden this time around. You don't need any clear platform, you don't need any clear policies, there's no amount of failure you aren't willing to overlook, and it quite literally doesn't matter if the candidate they give you cannot read the teleprompter. You will have given them the green light to end any meaningful sort of democracy.
Force the Democratic Party run on something other than "we're not Trump"...because they're so desperate at this point, they're imitating Trump. Force them to push real candidates and if they can't find any leaders....force them to develop some. Force them to create real policies, real strategies, and real laws that improve our crumbling institutions. They know higher education is badly broken...shifting the cost to those who didn't get the loans or degrees solves nothing. It's all well and good that they want EVs...but we don't even have the power grid to charge them. Force them to justify sending 100 billion dollars to keep the Ukraine fighting while they run out of soldiers and this war never had to happen if they had negotiated a loss of territory that was ethnically Russian to begin with. They now appear to be on the brink of losing everything and Zelensky himself is curious about what sort of deals Trump thinks he can negotiate. Biden can't negotiate lunch....even the Saudis don't answer when he calls. Only our enemies seem to have a lot of praise for Biden....and that's not a good thing. Your lack of a vote can matter just as much as your vote this year.

The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden The president’s mental decline was like a dark family secret for many elite supporters

This is a very long article. It is about 18 pages long. In my opinion, Olivia Nuzzi, the New York’s Washington correspondent, has written an excellent in-depth analysis of Joe Biden and the efforts to protect the truth about Joe Biden's health issues and senility from being made common knowledge to the public.

What is Keswickian theology?

So, as an American evangelical, I have encountered the term "Keswickian theology." I know nothing about it aside from that it's somewhat similar to Wesleyan-Holiness theology in that it teaches progressive sanctification and it's the view promoted by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

What can you tell me about it? How does it differ from Wesleyan-Holiness and Arminianism? Would it be closer to Provisionism?

Accusations of schism flying in run up to General Synod

General Synod begins on Friday and it looks as if the "new spirit of generosity and pragmatism" which Bishop Martyn Snow recently identified is going to be in short supply.

Earlier this week, the orthodox grouping 'The Alliance' wrote an open letter to the Archbishops of York and Canterbury pleading with them, not to introduce standalone services of blessing for same-sex couples without following, "the lawful constitutional path to preserve the unity of the Church throughout the Anglican Communion."

But it was not just the process that concerned them – The Alliance believe that introducing such services would "be part of a schismatic move which departs from the teaching received and upheld not only by the vast majority of the Anglican Communion (representing around 75% of the Anglican Communion's 80 million members), the Roman Catholic Church, the Orthodox Churches but also the vast majority of other churches around the world".

Is it wrong to wear a crucifix?

The Bible does not explicitly prohibit or command the wearing of crucifixes. It is a matter of Christian freedom up to your conscience. Does it remind you of Christ's death and sacrifice? Or do you wear it as a fashion trend? Are you wearing it in faith?

I would not do it. But then, I don't even wear a watch.

“Allah does not approve”; South Carolina Terrorist Attacks Furries at Anthrocon with a Sword; One Pinkie Severely Sliced

You don't believe in violent gay Muslim furries? You haven't visited South Carolina!

S.C. man visiting Pittsburgh for furry convention charged in hotel sword attack

A South Carolina man in Pittsburgh for the Anthrocon Convention has been charged with attacking his friend with a sword on Thursday inside a Downtown hotel room.

Medics reported that the victim had a severe cut splitting his right pinkie finger and damage to his bone, the complaint said. The man told medics that he would go to the hospital on his own for stitches.

The witness told officers the group was going to arrive on Thursday, but O’Leary, who is a friend of theirs, asked them to come a day early and stay in his hotel room until the group’s room was ready, the complaint said.

The men were getting ready to go to bed around 1 a.m. when the witness told police that he heard O’Leary yell, “Allah does not approve,” leave the bed, and grab a large, black sword. O’Leary began “wildly swinging” it at the man, the complaint said.

The victim told police that he and O’Leary had briefly dated over the winter but were now just friends.

ABC will now air Biden interview with Stephanopoulos tonight (Friday) at 8pm instead of Sunday.

Feeling the timeliness of the material, ABC will now air the video today.

Why ABC moved the Biden interview to air Friday night

Anchor George Stephanopoulos is expected to interview Biden on Friday in Wisconsin, the president’s first extended interview with a major media network since his disastrous debate performance last week that has led many in the Democratic Party to question whether Biden should be the nominee. ABC had planned to release clips Friday evening, and the whole interview would air during Stephanopoulos’ Sunday morning show, “This Week With George Stephanopoulos.”

Recognizing this extraordinary political moment, however, ABC had a change of heart. ABC News realized it would be uncomfortable to hold onto the interview for nearly two days, according to a source familiar with the matter. ABC may have been accused, fairly or not, of hiding something, and the news cycle is moving at a rapid pace.

A network source told CNN that because the story is of “national interest,” ABC decided to make it a “primetime special” to air the same day the interview is taking place.

Judge Blocks Biden Administration’s Inclusion of ‘Gender Identity’ in Title IX Regulations

Major Democratic donors want Joe out

After several days of quiet griping and hoping that President Biden would abandon his re-election campaign on his own, many wealthy Democratic donors are trying to take matters into their own hands.
Wielding their fortunes as both carrot and stick, donors have undertaken a number of initiatives to pressure Mr. Biden to step down from the top of the ticket and help lay the groundwork for an alternate candidate.
A group of them is working to raise as much as $100 million for a sort of escrow fund, called the Next Generation PAC, that would be used to support a replacement candidate. If Mr. Biden does not step aside, the money could be used to help down-ballot candidates, according to people close to the effort.
Supporters of potential replacements like Vice President Kamala Harris are jockeying to position their preferred successor. Other donors are threatening to withhold contributions not only from Mr. Biden but also from other Democratic groups unless Mr. Biden bows out.

Vatican Excommunicates Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò for Schism

The ruling comes after Archbishop Viganò defied a Vatican summons to appear before the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith to face charges of schism last week.

The Vatican has officially excommunicated Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith announced Friday.

Archbishop Viganò was found guilty of the canonical crime, or delict, of schism, or the refusal to submit to the Pope or the communion of the Church, at the conclusion of the Vatican’s extrajudicial penal process on July 4.

The Vatican’s doctrine office announced the“latae sententiae” excommunication (automatic excommunication) on July 5, citing Archbishop Viganò’s “public statements manifesting his refusal to recognize and submit to the Supreme Pontiff, his rejection of communion with the members of the Church subject to him, and of the legitimacy and magisterial authority of the Second Vatican Council.”

The former papal nuncio to the United States is now excommunicated, the most serious penalty a baptized person can incur, which consists of being placed outside the communion of the faithful of the Catholic Church and denied access to the sacraments.
