I grew up in the Presbyterian church, but now I belong to the Assembly of God church. The debate between Armenians and Calvinists has always intrigued me. In my humble opinion, the debate is not centered on theology, but only the world view of the debater. The cornerstone of Calvinism is that libertarian free will is impossible for man. The cornerstone of Armenians that libertarian free will is a gift of God to man.

One quick aside. The saddest period of Einstein's life were his last 30 years when he tried to disprove his own theory. He said, "God does not play dice." Not only do we have libertarian free will, but the universe has a form of it as well. He wrote the laws of quantum mechanics to give our universe the physical equivalent of libertarian free will. Consider a block of uranium sitting on a lab bench. Quantum mechanics tells us that we know how many nuclei will decay per hour, but not which ones. This is in effect, the physical equivalent of libertarian free will.

Calvinists believe that in our time line, God is only an observer, he made every choice during His creation process. Armenians on the other hand, tend to believe that He is constantly editing His plan to change events in his creation at our request. One way or the other, our prayers are not a waste of time, they are cast in concrete. This debate is not about an interpretation of God's perfect will and scripture, it is a debate about human world view.

In conclusion, the next time you debate a Calvinist, include world view as well as interpretation of biblical doctrine and God's perfect will.

The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of 32,000 illegal immigrant children who failed to show up for their deportation hearings and rarely bothers to look for them, the department’s inspector general said Tuesday.

Nearly 300,000 other children still haven’t been given immigration court summonses, the inspector general said. That works out to two-thirds of the children U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has failed to serve.

They are what the government calls unaccompanied children, who show up at the border without parents and who are placed with sponsors in the U.S. while they wait to find out whether they can stay. The government often lets them fall through the cracks.

Skiatook High School sophomore, Nettie Gray, received an assignment this week that left her and her family confused and upset. On Thursday evening, her mother Olivia Gray posted about the assignment on Facebook and hundreds of comments began to roll in.

The post read, “This is one of Nettie’s assignments for World History class. It’s being called a research paper. …” and included a photo of the assignment, which contained a series of ten questions about “how the world started” and urged students to write a research paper on the topic. Among the questions were “What does it mean to be a Christian?” “Is God real” and “Is satan [sic] real?”

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Education website, the teacher who assigned the paper was Erich Richter, a football coach at SHS who has his emergency certification in English that expired on June 30, 2024.

Prior to teaching, Richter ran for Tulsa County sheriff but was disqualified due to embezzling funds from Taco Bueno, according to The Frontier.

One statistic showed the vast difference between young women and their elders: While the share of religiously unaffiliated men was 11 points greater among Gen Z than Baby Boomers (34% to 23%), young women were nearly three times as likely than Baby Boomer women to identify as such (39% to 14%).

How will churches respond to the crisis?​

The Rev. David Gushee, author of “After Evangelicalism: The Path to a New Christianity” and a professor of Christian ethics at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, said that while some evangelical leaders are trying to respond constructively, “others are tripling down on toxic masculinity. It’s very sad, really.”

“For generations, people would say young adults will leave, but when they get married and get their babies baptized, they’ll come back,” [Bolsinger, an associate professor of leadership formation at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California] said. “No longer. You have to have something to offer people … If we are losing the people who have historically been the most loyal, that’s a four-alarm fire.”

Democrats, in a stunning display of irony, are building an impenetrable wall around their convention in Chicago and demanding ID from everyone entering the venue. In a move that would be laughable if it weren’t so hypocritical, the Democratic Party is set to erect an impenetrable wall around their convention venue in Chicago and require photo ID from everyone who wants to attend. Yes, you read that correctly. The very party that has spent years branding walls as racist and denouncing voter ID laws as discriminatory is now embracing both when it serves their interests.

For years, Democrats have vilified anyone who dares suggest that America needs secure borders. They’ve gone so far as to label the construction of a border wall as an act of racism. Yet, when it comes to protecting their own, suddenly walls are a necessity. The message is clear: walls for us, but not for thee.

And let’s talk about the ID requirement. We’ve heard it all before from the left—demanding ID is discriminatory, it disenfranchises voters, it’s racist. Yet, when it comes to their convention, ID suddenly becomes essential. If Democrats truly believe that requiring ID is oppressive, why are they so quick to enforce it when their own security is on the line? The irony is staggering.

But the absurdity doesn’t stop there. Appointments for free vasectomies for Democrat men at the convention have already filled up. It’s almost as if they’re taking their dedication to population control to a whole new level. The left has long championed the idea of controlling the population through abortion and now, it seems, they’re encouraging sterilization as well.

This whole situation reeks of hypocrisy. It’s a classic case of “rules for thee, but not for me.” When it comes to protecting their own interests, Democrats are more than willing to throw their so-called principles out the window. Whether it’s building walls, demanding ID, or promoting population control, they’ll do whatever it takes to maintain their power.

The double standards on display here are just too glaring to ignore. The Democratic Party has revealed, yet again, that their true agenda is not about fairness or equality, but about control. Control of the borders when it suits them, control of the voting process when it benefits them, and control of the population through whatever means necessary.

As we watch the events unfold at the Democratic convention, we’re reminded once more that the left’s hypocrisy knows no bounds. They’ll preach one thing and practice another, all in the name of power. And the American people are expected to sit back and accept it.

But we won’t. It’s time to call out this hypocrisy for what it is. The Democrats can’t have it both ways. If they’re going to build walls and demand ID at their convention, they should be held accountable for the same actions they’ve demonized in others. The American people deserve leaders who stand by their principles, not ones who twist them to suit their convenience.

So it does pose a very interesting question. Are parasites or outside influences the cause of homosexuality?

I hadn't ever made it to the conclusion he did, I always stopped short. But I never believed homosexuality is "normal" or "a part of nature". I always assumed it was a form of mental illness.

A judge on Monday sentenced a Milwaukee woman charged with killing the man who sexually abused her as a teenager to 11 years in prison plus five years of extended supervision. The decision ends a six-year legal saga that tested the limits of the court’s leniency toward trafficking survivors who commit crimes.

Chrystul Kizer will ultimately not serve the full 11 years in prison, after Kenosha County Judge David P. Wilk credited her with more than a year and a half of time already served.

Kizer, now 24, initially faced a possible life sentence for shooting 34-year-old Randall Volar III when she was 17. Volar, who was White, had been filming his sexual abuse of Kizer, who is Black, for more than a year.

This year, Kizer agreed to plead guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, which carried a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

izer’s case marked the first time a Wisconsin court had allowed a defendant who was a sex-trafficking victim to use an “affirmative defense” for a homicide charge. More than 30 states have affirmative defense provisions that allow trafficking victims to be acquitted of certain charges against them if they can prove at trial that a crime was committed because of their abuse.

Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley had argued that Kizer carried out a premeditated killing to steal Volar’s BMW, while public defender Jennifer Bias said Kizer acted in self-defense after Volar had pinned her to the ground while trying to initiate sexual contact.

A 2019 Washington Post investigation showed that the Kenosha Police Department knew Volar was abusing underage Black girls for nearly three months before his death. After a 15-year-old Black girl fled from his home in nothing but a bra and jacket, police raided Volar’s residence and found hundreds of videos of child sexual abuse; among the stash were videos Volar had made of Kizer and girls who appeared to be as young as 12. But while the investigation continued, police and prosecutors allowed Volar to remain free.

hi im amy i started getting close to god when i was 14 i was a really depressed quiet kid out of no where i ask my grandma if she had a bible i got like a feeling of me wanting to learn more about god i started getting meesages out of the bible sometimes i had to open random pages and write thing words sentences that stood up the most to me and write it down when i finish it was a whole story and that story was things about an aunt that i had that nobody knew just her one night i started getting an anxiety attack i had a feel big urge to talk to my aunt i went to her house sitted down in her couch close my eyes and started saying a lot of thing that i don’t remember till this day next thing i opened my eyes and see her and her boyfriend crying she wasnt close to god and she told after all i said to her she started believing and getting close to him after that i kept getting messages but i stop learning about god a lot of stuff started to happen i lost track i lost a litte bit of connection with him im trying now again i miss that feeling i used to have really vivid dreams one of my church sisters told me i had power over snakes and escorpions something like that but i dont really understand can someone help me and explain im 20 now and i want to grow and get on track with my mission with god thank you <3

Protestant argue that they put the Bible above anything else? But strictly speaking, it's their interpretation above anything else?

Under the romans Christianity eventually became the dominant religion of the middle east, north Africa, and Europe but it never had similar expansion in India or China or the other parts of the far east. Ways you can honor God is to believe in God, Romans 10:9-10 . To spend time with God in prayer, and worshiping God. Live of life that honors God living righteous in God sight. Submit to God's authority.

Ways you can acknowledge God is by prayer, gratitude, worshiping God, loving others with the love of God, confession of sins to God, to be part of a holy bible believing church.

Donald Trump doubled down on his comments about how the Presidential Medal of Freedom is superior to the military Medal of Honor because the former involves no sacrifice.

“The Presidential Medal of Freedom, to my knowledge, I don’t think anybody suffered,” Trump said in an interview after his rally on Saturday, attempting to clarify comments made on Thursday. “People [who] get the Congressional Medal of Honor, which I’ve given to many, are often horribly wounded or dead. They’re often dead, they get it posthumously. And when you get the Congressional Medal of Honor, I always consider that to be the ultimate — but it is a painful thing to get it.”

He added, “When you get the Presidential Medal of Freedom, it’s usually for other things, like you’ve achieved great success in sports, or you’ve achieved great success someplace else … I don’t think anybody suffered, other than they’ve, you know, they worked hard, and they’ve done great things.”

Trump made his first round of controversial comments on the subject on Thursday at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, at an event on fighting antisemitism. Trump was speaking about billionaire Miriam Adelson, the widow of major Republican donor Sheldon Adelson and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump said the civilian award is “actually much better because everyone [who] gets the Congressional Medal of Honor, they’re soldiers. They’re either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets, or they’re dead.” Speaking about Miriam Adelson, Trump said: “She gets it, and she’s a healthy, beautiful woman, and they’re rated equal, but she got the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the largest veterans advocacy group in the U.S., criticized the statement on Friday. VFW National Commander Al Lipphardt said: “These asinine comments not only diminish the significance of our nation’s highest award for valor, but also crassly characterized the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives above and beyond the call of duty.”

Progressive veterans group Common Defense also bashed the comments, posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday: “Absolutely shameful for Trump to equate the Medal of Honor, our military’s highest recognition for valor, courage, bravery, and sacrifice to the award he gave out to his mega donor. He is unfit to lead our nation and our military.”

Trump’s comments come as his running mate J.D. Vance has been focused on attacking Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick Tim Walz, who served for two decades in the Army National Guard, for supposedly “stealing valor.” The claim is dubious, to say the least.

This is not the first time Trump has angered veterans. In 2020, he allegedly called American soldiers who died in war “losers” and “suckers,” something he has denied.

Retired Gen. John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff who confirmed he disparaged dead soldiers, on Monday rejected Trump’s claim that the Presidential Medal of Freedom is “much better” than the Medal of Honor. “Not even close,” he told CNN.

Trump has to be making these horrific statements without his advisors. He didn't have anything prepared to counter the first disrespectful comments?
To think the one given by him is better than the Medal of Honor is asinine, but to say it in public a few months from the election is politically suicidal. But this is Trump and his supporters.
