  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

India attacked Pakistan, Pakistan claims to shoot down 5 Indian jets

Islamabad, Pakistan / New Delhi, IndiaCNN —
India launched military strikes on targets in Pakistan, both countries said on Wednesday, with Pakistan claiming it had shot down five Indian Air Force jets in response, in a dangerous escalation between the nuclear-armed rivals.

Adoption by Christians in Massachusetts

I know a Christian at a conservative church here in Massachusetts. He and his wife want to adopt a child and have to fill out paperwork. One of the questions seems to ask if he supports LGBTQ in relation to child rearing or related. They also ask him about supporting the child’s chosen religion; however he is saying that if he adopts a child then he wants to bring the child to church and he doesn’t really like the other question either. This is the first time I have encountered this type of situation first hand, most everything else has been reading about it online or in the news. I wonder if anyone has any comments or advice or other similar knowledge about this type of thing ?

Someone said a possible answer is:
'”We would seek the advice and counsel of people with appropriate education to guide us.”

I also found some articles about the same type of thing

How My Faith Was Confirmed.

I thought I would share my testimony with you all.

Of course, I am ever in the pursuit of truth and do not believe I will ever arrive in this life, but this is what this pursuit of truth is really based on.

Buckle up!

I was the prodagal son. I was raised in the church. Then I got into a very bad relationship. A year later, when I was smoking dope, I developed psychosis. It was at this time that I started questioning everything. I became an atheist because I was afraid that if I called myself a Christian, I would be persecuted for my faith due to paranoid delusions. I went on what I call a “Quest for Truth” when I considered myself an atheist. When I called myself an atheist, I got a thirst for knowledge. Since I have a mental illness and was on SSI, I had a lot of time on my hands, as I am on disability. I devoted myself to learning all sorts of things. From neuroscience to Cantor and theories of infinity to Godel, to computer science stuff, you name it. When I started reading “Personality Types” by Carl Jung, even though Jung himself was an atheist, reading that book turned me into a pantheist. I saw the mind’s complexities, so I developed a theory. My theory was that the universe itself was a god. I believe that the universe itself was conscious. I had to answer the question, “What is the purpose of beings with agency and complex minds?” The answer I came up with was that the universe, as a conscious entity, decided to create beings with agency so that the universe could “discover itself” through these beings with agency. That was my working theory at the time, and on some level, it makes sense.

But on a hot August day on the 24th, 2018, after I was at my PC, I went outside. I was very anxious for some reason. I was out on the porch. I got the sense that someone I knew earlier was out there and looking for me. He was a gang member. I should never have mixed up with that guy, which was a mistake. Anyways, after being very nervous for no reason, I returned to my PC because of this anxiety. I was only outside for a few minutes. When I returned outside a short time later, a heavy-set man with a dark complexion, wearing khakis, a white button-up shirt, and a bowtie, walked into my parents’ driveway, where I lived. He almost looked like a homeless person would dress up for a special occasion. The man’s name was Larry Emmanuel Morris. I later tried to find him in public records, but couldn’t find anyone with that name and age (as he said he was about 54 years old at the time).

He was trying to tell me something about this little booklet he had. He had a very mild personality - not forceful at all. When we were talking, he told me I looked like a skateboarder. It brought up memories of when I was about 12-14 years old and had a skateboard. But I never could do many tricks because I didn’t practice very often. Also, there was this video that I think I had just watched in between the time I was outside. It was the music video for the song “Alive” by POD. The music video features a skateboarder who got his car T-boned by a bus, and the car flipped, but the guy came out with no damage after the fact. In my 20s, I had a similar car accident where I flipped my father’s car. When I flipped the car, I went off the curb and hit a big light post. After the police arrived, and I was given a ticket for reckless driving and a fine later to pay for the damages, the police officer said, “It’s a miracle you are alive. If you don’t believe in God, you really should.” After my conversation with Larry, I saw POD play on August 30, 2018. Before the show, I ran into the lead singer (Sonny) and told him about this experience.

Anyways, after the guy introduced his booklet, I said, “Sorry, I don’t have money for you, but I have prayer for you.” I still don’t know why I said that at the time. I was a pantheist, not a Christian or really a part of any religion. He said, “Prayer is good too.” We shook hands, and he walked away.

For some reason, I wanted to go on a walk to the place I would normally walk. I drove there in my van. The place I walk is a pond that has a path around it. It’s more like a figure 8 or an infinity symbol. One of the bodies of water split up by a bridge in the middle is a lot bigger than the other. It takes about 6-7 minutes to walk around the smaller loop around the body of water. If you walk around both bodies of water, it’s about a mile or so. So as I started walking around the smaller body of water, I recalled the handshake the guy gave me. I reflected on it, and I just started crying. His handshake was the most humble, honest, and authentic I have ever gotten from someone. I recall now that when I shook his hand, he said, “It’s nice to meet you, Jesse” (my name). I was hysterical when I was crying, and I was hoping I didn’t see anyone else on the path because that would have been really awkward to see someone weeping like I was. When I got to the first juncture on which way to go, whether to walk around the whole path or take the short path back to my car, I stood there for what seemed like forever, but was actually probably no longer than a minute. I felt like the Holy Spirit was convicting me at that moment. I could either continue my walk or go the short way back home. I decided to take the shortcut home.

When I got in my van and drove home, I thought I had to see that man again. As I got close to my home again, I started to get anxious that I wouldn’t see him. After all, it had probably been about half an hour since he walked in my driveway, and it was unlikely that he would have stayed in the same place because he was on foot. My parents live on the opposite end of a busier street where there is basically a square of road, and we are opposite the main road. It’s a closed-loop block. I drive down the first street perpendicular to the main road and the road on which my parents’ house is. I turn the corner and pull into the driveway when I remember saying, “Where is he? He isn’t here.” I backed up and went back the way I came. I drive down the main road and down the second perpendicular street to the loop where my parents live. I drive down the road and don’t know what I am doing, but I hope I see him somewhere. I see him coming out of one of the houses on that street. He was limping when walking down the steps. I actually found him! I ask myself where I should park, and I drive down a bit and park on the side of the road. When I saw him, I said, “I had to see you again.” I can’t remember his response to that. We start talking. He starts telling me about his life. He had many physical ailments, and he was telling me about them. My heart broke for him as he told me that, and I started sobbing. I put my hand on his shoulder and said, “You’re a good man.” I am sure my speech was unintelligible because I was crying so much. I remember when I did that, he said in a very peaceful, gentle way, “This is good.”

So we are standing in the street, and he starts telling me all these amazing things. For example, he recalls these two guys I used to hang out with, one of whom I already mentioned. And he says, “One of them likes you, and one of them doesn’t.” The one who didn’t like me I was afraid of. None of my family members knew what I did with these guys. I was just afraid of this guy. I don’t know the details of that conversation about what he said about those two guys, but it was like he was prophesying about my innermost thoughts. He starts talking about the kingdom of heaven. He gives an example. He says something like, “Maybe you are driving down the road, and someone you don’t know sees the condition your vehicle is in, and they decide to give you a new vehicle. That’s how the kingdom of heaven works.” I didn’t plan this, but it dawns on me now that up until November 27, 2022, I was without a vehicle for over six months. It just so happens that someone I know gave me his old van after getting another one at no cost.

He also starts talking about Bible passages I had never heard before. He spoke of Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones, and I couldn’t really make out what he was saying, but I remember him asking me, “Are those your bones?” talking about the Valley of Dry Bones... Even though I am always learning, I was still lost in knowing much of theology until the latter portion of 2019. On April 12, 2019, one of my favorite albums of all time was released. The album cover of that album is a painting of the Valley of Dry Bones

He said other remarkable things. As he spoke to me, I sat on the curb and listened to him talk. I recall seeing him speak and this beautiful blue sky in the background. I recall it was as if my spirit was being overflowed with glory. It was spiritually overwhelming. And so because of that, I was sitting down. Meanwhile, this man wasn’t under this spiritual heaviness and wasn’t sitting down despite the injury to his knee. He probably would have felt better sitting down, but it was like he had this duty to speak truthfully to me, so he stood up instead of sitting.

Remember what I said about that guy I was afraid of? There’s more to say about it. The man, Larry, said he had pus coming out of his knee. I couldn’t help but think that the guy I was afraid of had an encounter with Larry and hurt Larry’s knee. That’s just speculation, but it feels true to me for some reason. There’s another reason I think this, but I’ll say that later.

After talking for a while, Larry told me, “If you call yourself a Christian, you could be persecuted for your faith. Is it worth it?” And I said, “Yes, it’s worth it.” You see, I had called myself an atheist because I was afraid I would be persecuted for my faith if I said I was a Christian. So my unbelief in God was based on fear of persecution. At that moment, I realized I might have to suffer for my faith, but it would all be worth it in the end.

There was also some talk about certain things he was saying that deeply resonated with me. I recall telling him, “These suburban people don’t care about the truth. All they care about is their 401 Ks and living a comfortable life. They don’t know what true faith is.” I remember telling him he was prophesying after I said that, and he said, “Well, look at what you are saying.”

At this time, I wanted to know about his booklet. I tried looking through it, but it didn’t make sense to me. It seemed to be a thing to get him to sell magazines or books or something like that. On the front, it said, “No donation required.” There were these packages you could pick for him to sell or something. He wanted to sell 200 or something, but I am unsure. All you had to do was sign your name to support him. Since I didn’t get the whole number system, I wrote my name to support him. But I wrote down a number too, which no one else did from the other names that had been written down. As I was going to cross out my name, he said, “Don’t do that.” But it was too late, I had already made the decision to cross off the numbers. I still feel bad about that and don’t know what it means. There were packages you could choose that would cater to certain people, like magazines for fathers and sons, or something like that.

At this point, I was sitting on the curb where this big white guy with a ponytail parks right next to the house, Larry comes out of, and drops off a big cardboard box in the house. At the time, I thought the big white guy was an angel dropping some spiritual thing off at the house. As the big white guy walks back, Larry starts conversing with the big guy, and they are talking super casually. I never caught what they said at all, though. Anyways, as I am witnessing this and seeing their exchange, out of nowhere, Larry answers a question I had but hadn’t verbalized at all whatsoever, and he says, “I’m not an angel.” I was about to ask him if he was an angel since I thought the big white guy was an angel, and he answered my question before I could ask it, like he was reading my mind.

After we talked for quite some time, probably a number of hours, I was spiritually exhausted, and Larry said, “Can we go in your van? My knee is bothering me. My knee has some pus coming out of it and is injured.” So I said, sure. When we were talking by my van, I said, “You are a prophet.” And he seems disappointed and says, “I'm a prophet.” Then he asks with a bit of excitement, “Big 'P' or small 'p'?" And I say, "The biggest." I didn't know what I was saying then, but there is a bible verse that basically says Jesus was the "big P prophet" that Israel was looking forward to. It says this in Deuteronomy 18:15, corresponding with John 6:14, among other verses.

At this point, he tells me that I am like King David. So we got in my van and drove down the road, and I started smoking a cigar. At that point, Larry takes a pack of Newport cigarettes out of his pocket and aggressively puts it on the central part between the seats. (That's the same brand of cigarettes that the guy I said I was afraid of smokes, and the other reason I think that guy hurt Larry, and Larry took his cigarettes.)

I offer him some food, and he says, "I don't need to eat, but if you make me food, I will eat it." I give him two choices of what to eat. They are both almost the same. I secretly want him to pick a certain one. After he analyzes the boxes for a moment, he points to the one I wanted him to pick. I didn't do anything different with the food, he just happened to pick the right one. When we got in the house, my father had his Bible on the counter, which I can’t remember seeing before, and the Bible was open to a passage about King David in the Psalms about David’s genealogy. So it seems that this was a sign of the prophecy he spoke about me being like David.

The experience is what gave me the faith I have today. Of that, I am sure. But I have questioned the experience or how I interpret it.

I have pondered what it means for my faith if the experience I had with this man is built on a faulty premise. I cannot deny what it was like to talk to this man. That is beyond doubt for me. But what if the origin of what gave me my faith is false in another way? Well, the thing that this experience led to is my studying apologetics. I am not a huge bookworm, but I come across enough Christian apologetics content to be dangerous. I have more resources than I have read. So if I ever find myself in a state of doubt, those books will be the first place I will go. Not only that, but I find that one argument in particular by Gary Habermas is especially powerful, which is the six minimal facts for the resurrection. In other words, I have no reason to doubt my faith. Having said that, if I did find myself giving up the Christian faith, I would not be an atheist. I would probably go to some spiritual beliefs like New Age or something. Why? Because I have had experiences, I cannot deny that it was supernatural. So, in that way, I have even more confidence that the supernatural is real than I do that Christianity is true. Of course, my faith is very strong at this point. I could do more, of course, as we all could. I could study more. I could read the Bible more. I could go to church more often. Etc.

Now, why am I even questioning the source of this experience? It is because this man claimed to be Christ that I can only assume three or four options. Those options are: He was Christ Himself. Why he would visit me, I have no idea. The next extreme option is that it was Satan or a demon. That doesn't really make sense since I spoke and engaged with him in the flesh. It could have been meant to deceive me, but the Lord prevailed. The third option would be that it was some sort of anti-Christ. Either an anti-Christ or a false prophet. The fourth option would be that it was a holy prophet who was gravely mistaken or fell into a grave sin at just the wrong time, but God still used him to speak into my life. Finally, it could have been a crazy person, but that does not explain how the guy could be so prophetic, his knowledge of the Word, and understanding of the Kingdom of Heaven, more than anyone else I have ever met.

Whoever the man was, it gave me the experience I needed to draw near to Christ. From there, I have developed tools to be sure of my faith. Honestly, as much as I am undecided about this experience, it strangely does not feel like a dilemma as it used to. I used to be perplexed about it, considering the idea that I could be an Apostle or one of the Two Witnesses. But at this point, until I know more, I am content to just be a faithful Christian. I am nothing special. Really. Honestly. I have had my difficulties, but I also have my sins. I am not a holy man, and I hope no one ever gets that idea in their head that I am better than anyone else. I would not put myself at the top of the list when it comes to morality. I have some rather bad habits, and Satan has some footholds in my life. But I love Jesus. I find I love Jesus more every year. I look back over the last six years from the time of this experience and find my capacity to love other people has skyrocketed since I was first called by God to be a Christian. I was not a nice person before. I was also VERY reactionary. I would often really overreact to things. So, it is only due to the grace of God that I have some composure. Not only is my capacity to love others greatly increased, but my mental health is worlds different from what it used to be. I can attribute some of this to medication, but that is not the whole story. God has certainly been healing my mind.

In the end, it is not the experience itself that I know Christianity is true, but I know it is true for many reasons, including apologetics and other personal experiences involving miracles, visions, dreams, prophecies, and the like.

Also, know that I do not consider myself worthy to be blessed by the grace of God. He is truly merciful. I am nothing without my King, Savior, Master, and Lord.

Enticed By Your Lust

“Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am being tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.” (James 1:13-15 NASB1995)

What does it mean to be tempted by evil? It means to be enticed, to have an urge or an inclination to do something that is wrong, that is sinful, and that is against God’s holiness and his commandments and his divine will and purpose for our lives. It means to be attracted, lured, aroused, and seduced by one’s own lust into doing something that is evil. It is an issue of the heart that can lead to the objectification of other people. And lust is an intense and often uncontrolled desire, particularly sexual, that is sinful and wicked.

“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person.” (See Matthew 15:17-20 and Luke 6:45)

And there are people who are addicted to sin who are caught in a web of self-deception where they will blame God and/or other humans for their own sinful practices, rather than to look into their own hearts to see the real source of their sinful addiction. So they might claim they “got a raw deal,” to excuse away their sin. So, their rational for their sinful behaviors will be centered on what someone else did or did not do as the reason they sinned rather than to blame themselves and what is stored up in their hearts.

But it is not anyone’s else’s fault but your own if you choose sin over God, over spouse, and over faithfulness and purity of mind and heart. For many people who are addicted to the lusts of the flesh, especially to sexual immorality, will definitely objectify other people, degrading them to the status of a mere object. For that is what you will do if you are addicted to pornography or to any sexually stimulated material, for you do that to the actors and you do that to your spouses, too, when you commit adultery.

And many faithful spouses will suffer the pain, not only of you choosing the lusts of your flesh over loving them and being faithful to them, but of you treating them like they are someone for you to stomp on and to treat like dirt. For they will suffer the pain of watching the one that they love pursue someone else, whether it is a live and in person someone or a person on a screen or in a chat or an email. For they love the addicted spouse, only to not be loved in return, but only to have their hearts stomped on, instead.

Putting Aside All Filthiness

“Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1:21-25 NASB1995)

So, if you are someone who is caught in that web of deceit, who is deliberately and habitually sinning against God and against spouse and against others you sin against, please take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror of your soul, and when you do, don’t just walk away and forget what you look like. Don’t ask God to show you why you do what you do and then ignore him when he reveals the truth to you in the mirror. For you can watch all the videos and read all the books on sexual idolatry and still continue living in sin if your heart is not ready to respond to the Lord.

You have to want to obey God or you will never obey God. You have to want to forsake your sinful practices or you will never forsake your sinful practices. For if your heart is bent on sin, sin is what you will continue to practice. You will never conquer your sinful addiction in your own flesh or just by reading books and watching videos. You have to have a change of heart, for it is from your heart that comes all these evil thoughts and lusts and practices. But don’t just look into your heart and say, “Yep! That’s me!,” and then go right back to living in sin and recommitting adultery.

Be willing and ready to have God deliver you from the evil that is stored up in your heart and to let go of your sinful addiction to now love and serve God and spouse and others with the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. And study the Scriptures, in context, not just for intellectual stimulation or curiosity or habit, but out of a desire to do what they teach us that we must all do as those who are of genuine faith in the Lord Jesus. For if sin remains our practice, and not obedience to God, according to the Scriptures, we do not have salvation from sin nor eternal life with God. Please believe this!

Based off Psalm 42:1

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You

Trump plans to announce the US will call Persian Gulf the Arabian Gulf, officials say

WASHINGTON -- WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump plans to announce while on his trip to Saudi Arabia next week that the U.S. will now refer to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia, two U.S. officials told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Even I must admit Iran will never recover from this political correctness. The Associated Press better fall in line, otherwise they will be complicit in Iran's nuclear program.

India attacks Pakistan. Does this mean war?

MUZAFFARABAD, Pakistan/NEW DELHI, May 7 (Reuters) - India attacked Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir on Wednesday with at least eight deaths reported, and Pakistan called the assault a "blatant act of war" as the worst fighting in more than two decades erupted between the nuclear-armed enemies.
Amid a nearly 80-year-old territorial dispute over Kashmir, India's offensive followed an attack by Islamist assailants that killed 26 Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month. India said Pakistan-based militants were responsible, but Pakistan denied involvement.

I hope this doesn't escalate into a nuclear war.

11 alleged teen Tren de Aragua gang members attack NYPD officers: police

Teenagers. The problems caused by Biden border policies are going to be with us for a long time.

The Right Moving to Justify Evil.

This is a good indicator of where the right wing is headed. It is sad.

It used to be that the right wing was the political movement of common sense. More and more, it is becoming the political movement of cruelty.

Here are two examples from X.

First, a woman on live television, admits to being a racist in the name of free speech.

Next, Elon Musk has, on more than one occasion, made allusions towards locking people up in insane asylums. Musk RePosted this post, heavily hinting at the idea that we should go back to locking people up in insane asylums.

This should terrify people with common sense.

Is this a trick question?

I think most citizens of the United States know the answer to this question. I'm pretty sure that kinda thing probably gets taught sometimes around gr4,5, 6 down there?
Yes? Any teachers here who could confirm that?

Anyways, how does a sitting president not answer that question, EVEN IF THEY ARE LYING, by saying "Yes"....at least for appearances?

More Proof of a Post-Tribulation Rapture

Further proof of a post-tribulation rapture is seen in the study of the reoccurring phrase: "flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder". If you don't already know, this phrase appears 4 different times in the Bible (all of which are in the Book of Revelation). It serves as a mutual point of intersection between 3 of those verses with the remaining verse telling us the significance behind the phrase itself.

That latter verse is found in John's vision of a Throne in Heaven, and is the first time we see this phrase used in the Book of Revelation. It reads:

“… there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder…In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures…Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.’”
— Revelation 4:2b-5a,6a,9–11

Clearly, the person on said throne is Jesus, and the phrase "flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder" is a descriptor of his physical appearance. That being said, when we see this same phrase used in the other 3 verses in the book of Revelation, we can understand that they, too, are signifying the physical presence of The Lord.

For example, when we read the description of the pouring out of the 7th bowl, we're told:

The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘It is done!’ Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake… From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people...” – Revelation 16:17-18a,21a

This clue clearly tells us that Jesus is physically present at this time, which we can agree on as it's commonly accepted that the 7th bowl marks the end of the Great Tribulation and return of Jesus to earth.

Yet, by no coincidence, this same phrase is also found in sounding of the 7th trumpet, as highlighted:

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet,… Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.” – Revelation 11:15a,19

This not tells us that these two visions are undoubtedly connected (which is further evident by the fact that they both mention an earthquake and a hailstorm), but it also serves as a clue as to when the rapture of believers will take place. As I'm sure you're familiar with, when Paul was writing to the Corinthian church about the Resurrection of Life (i.e., The Rapture), he said:

“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” — 1 Corinthians 15:51–52

Being that the 7th trumpet is the last trumpet of the series mentioned in Revelation and it marks the return of the Lord, we can confidently conclude that the rapture of believers takes place at the very end of The Great Tribulation!

Further detail about the rapture, the connection between the trumpets and the bowls of Revelation, and how God will protect His people from His wrath during the time of The Great Tribulation can be found in this article: The Great Tribulation and The Day of The Lord

Cardinal Dolan: New York suicide bill a ‘terrible idea,’ turns doctors into killers

Cardinal Timothy Dolan this week called New York legislation aiming to legalize medical assisted suicide “a disaster waiting to happen” after the state Assembly advanced the measure last week.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Dolan — the archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York — said: “For people of faith who believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, the very idea of having a doctor give you a prescription to end your life prematurely is contrary to everything we cherish.”

“But one need not be religious to see that assisted suicide is a terrible idea. It is a classic Pandora’s box; once opened, its consequences cannot be contained.”

The New York State Assembly passed the Medical Aid in Dying Act in New York on April 29 in an 81–67 vote. If passed into law, the legislation will allow terminally ill adults to request medication to end their own lives.

A militarized conspiracy theorist group believes NWS weather radars are ‘weather weapons’ and is trying to destroy them

National Weather Service offices around the country are on guard after recent threats to agency infrastructure — specifically Doppler weather radars — from a violent militia-style group, emails from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s security office show.

The group Veterans on Patrol, which the Southern Poverty Law Center defines as an anti-government militia organization, views the NWS’ network of Doppler radars as “weather weapons,” according to an internal NOAA email sent Monday and seen by CNN.

Previously in Veterans on Patrol:

What she and others didn’t know yet was that Veterans on Patrol is an anti-government group steeped in conspiracy theories and that ... the group was motivated to come to this small town because its members believed that the government was using the hurricane to move people here off lithium-rich land and stop them from getting it back, according to the group’s posts on Telegram, the messaging service.

On Sept. 29, an X user suggested that the supposed presence of lithium provided a motive for someone to “modify” the storm, to steal access to the mineral.

Groups such as Veterans on Patrol soon picked it up. “Isn’t it ironic how much lithium is available in the areas targeted by Helene?” the group asked in a Sept. 30 Telegram post.

[On Oct. 3, the group called for volunteers] “if you are willing to mobilize with North Carolina families and remove FEMA from North Carolina.”

Jesse Duplantis' claim that Christians have same DNA as God is 'heresy,' 'satanic,' pastor says

Televangelist says Christians can create their own worlds

A pastor who regularly calls out false teachers on his popular YouTube channel says televangelist Jesse Duplantis’ teachings that Christians can create their own worlds and possess the same DNA as God is “flat out heresy” and “satanic.”

Chris Rosebrough, the pastor of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in Oslo, Minnesota, and host of the Christian apologetics podcast "Fighting for the Faith," dissected Duplantis’ Jan. 5 sermontitled “Create Your World and Walk In It,” arguing that it lacks biblical grounding and promotes a dangerous, Gnostic-inspired theology rooted in the New Thought movement rather than Christianity.

Rosebrough began by highlighting Duplantis’ assertion that his prosperity and health stem from creating his own world, a claim he says originated in a conversation with his daughter, Jodie, when she was 10 or 11. Duplantis recounted, “She said, ‘How come everything you touch prospers?’ […] I say, ‘Well, that’s very easy, Jodie, I create my world and I walk in it.’”

Life and Light

John 1:5
"The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]." Amplified

Verse 4 tells us that the Life in Christ is the Light for all mankind. Where is the Life of Christ right now? Is it not in the heart of every born again believer? So the Light is also in the heart of every believer. Lord Jesus is God's living Word, John 1:1. As the Word becomes known to us in our hearts, so we receive light (psalm 119:130)

We should not be surprised or dismayed if unbelievers do not understand us. And no doubt and/or unbelief can overcome God's word. If we will stand on God's word alone, Satan can do nothing to overcome us.

Often, it seems as if we are not shining all that brightly. We need to remember first that if God says something, it is true no matter what. Those who are born again have Life and so they have the light. There may obstructions to the light. The sun still shines on the stormiest day, but clouds darken the sky. We may be clouded by unconfessed sin, or by unforgiveness. We come into the Christian life with many attitudes that need correcting and we know little of God's word or His ways. God will transform us as we ask Him to deliver us.

As we are cleansed from those things that hinder us (Hebrews 12:1),we will shine more brightly. We rarely see the change. Others will see. If someone says that you are different, be very careful. It is easy for pride to rise up and undo all the good work that God has done. Be quick to acknowledge that it is Jesus, not you.

Does it work? Yes. Some time ago, my wife and I went to a restaurant we've been to a few times. We were just being ourselves. The young waitress told us that we were to loveliest couple she had met. A waitress meets a lot of people. I immediately said that she was seeing Jesus, not me. We were the last customers and the kitchen was closed. We spent the next 20 minutes or so witnessing to the young woman. She had every excuse to leave us and start clearing tables. She was drawn to Jesus in us. If she knew me 20 years ago, she would have run and hid!

Let God change you and set you free from that which hides the Light of Christ that dwells in you now. It is peace and joy even when troubles come.

FBI has opened 250 investigations tied to violent online network '764' that preys on teens, top official says

FBI officials say they are growing increasingly concerned about a loose network of violent predators who befriend teenagers through popular online platforms and then coerce them into escalating sexual and violent behavior -- pushing victims to create graphic pornography, harm family pets, cut themselves with sharp objects, or even die by suicide.

The online predators, part of the network known as "764," demand victims send them photos and videos of it all, so the shocking content can be shared with fellow 764 followers or used to extort victims for more. Some of the predators even host "watch parties" for others to watch them torment victims live online, according to authorities.

The FBI has more than 250 such investigations currently underway, with every single one of its 55 field offices across the country handling a 764-related case, Scott told ABC News in an exclusive interview.

As [FBI Assistant Director] Scott described it, one of the main goals of 764 and similar networks is to "sow chaos" and "bring down society."

That's why the FBI's Counterterrorism Division and the Justice Department's National Security Division are now looking at 764 and its offshoots as a potential form of domestic terrorism, even coining a new term to characterize the most heinous actors: "nihilistic violent extremists."

Though charging documents don't identify the founder by name, federal law enforcement sources identified him to ABC News as Bradley Cadenhead, who is serving an 80-year-prison sentence in Texas after pleading guilty to several child pornography-related charges in 2023.

Singer Adam Lambert cast as Judas in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' opposite bisexual female Jesus

Singer Adam Lambert will be playing Judas Iscariot in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl performance of "Jesus Christ Superstar" this summer, according to a Monday post on the Los Angeles venue's Instagram.

India Offers Zero-For-Zero Tariffs In Major Trade Win For Trump

In a bid to deescalate, India has already lowered duties on Harley-Davidson motorcycles and bourbon whiskey, both politically symbolic U.S. exports. But the new offer goes much further and directly addresses the White House’s core complaints.

This is fantastic for our country. India has been tough on the United States.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement “dragnet” in Nashville results in detentions

A Tennessee Lookout photojournalist on Sunday documented buses leaving a U.S. Department of Homeland Security facility in Nashville. Family members of the alleged detainees were also present, protesting the alleged detentions.
In a statement, Mellissa Harper, Enforcement and Removal Operations New Orleans Field Office Director, did not specifically confirm the Nashville action but said, “Protecting the safety and security of our communities remains a top priority for ICE. As part of our ongoing mission to uphold U.S. immigration laws, our targeted enforcement operations are specifically focused on individuals who threaten public safety or national security. These efforts help ensure that our neighborhoods remain safe and that immigration laws are enforced.”
