In The Bond of Peace

“Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3 NASB1995)

When we come to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives, by the grace of God, and persuaded of God, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin, and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves (addicted) to sin, but as slaves to God and to his righteousness, in walks of surrender and in obedience to our Lord and to his commandments under the New Covenant. And we are no longer to keep living like we did before we believed in Jesus, for Jesus rescued us from our former lives.

So, as those who profess that Jesus Christ is our Lord, that we are his, by faith in him, and that we are children of God, according to the promise, we are to live our lives as though we truly do belong to God, and not as those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus. For we are to walk (in conduct, in practice) in a manner worthy (fitting, appropriate, suitable) of the calling with which we have all been called. And we are all called to deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and to walk in obedience to God’s commands.

For faith in Jesus Christ, which comes from God, which is persuaded of God, and which is gifted to us by God, and which is not of our own doing, is not words only, or some status we now wear. For faith in Jesus means that we are persuaded of God as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin and to now walk with him in obedience to his commands. Faith in Jesus is a lifetime commitment to serve the Lord with our lives and to no longer live for sinful pleasures.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

And we are not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought, or to think that we can gain the acceptance of God based on our own human merit. We must own up to the fact that not one of us is deserving of God’s grace, and that it is only by the grace of God that any of us can die to sin and now walk in obedience to our Lord, in his power. So all the glory belongs to God that we can be rescued out of slavery to sin and now serve God with our lives. So we should be very thankful for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on that cross.

Now, when this speaks of gentleness, patience, and tolerance, this does not mean that we dilute the gospel message, or that we shy away from sharing it with others, in truth, out of fear of offending the ungodly. And it doesn’t mean that we lie to people to make them feel good, and that we never confront anyone with their sin and call them to faith in Jesus and to repentance and to obedience to God. For gentleness is reserved strength, not sugar-coating or refusing to share the truth so as not to offend others.

And it doesn’t mean that, in the gatherings of the church (the body of Christ) that we tolerate deliberate and habitual sin in the lives of those calling themselves Christians by doing nothing about it, or by coddling them in their sins, or by providing support groups for the sinfully addicted for them to commiserate along with their fellow addicts while permitting them to keep sinning sexually, and against their spouses, in adultery, for very long periods of time, even for many years, and indefinitely, repeating same cycle.

For if we are going to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, then we have to be those who are committed to Christ and to obeying him, in practice, and to living morally pure, honest, faithful, upright, and godly lives, in the power of God, by the grace of God, as we cooperate fully with God in his work of grace in our lives. For God’s grace is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we await our Lord’s return one day.

Seek the Lord

Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love
Musical Instrumentation by Mark Bradley
Based off Isaiah 55

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”

Supreme Court sides with Trump admin in permitting DOGE access to Social Security data

The Supreme Court ruled Friday that President Trump’s team of cost-cutters at the Department of Government Efficiency can access Social Security systems containing the personal information of millions of Americans.
The high court’s ruling overturns a preliminary injunction issued in April by a Maryland federal judge blocking DOGE staffers attached to the Social Security Administration (SSA) from accessing non-anonymized data and making any changes to the computer code or software used by the agency.

We can't permit lower courts to undermine the presidency.

“It Became Him”

“For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing people unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Heb 2:10, 11). This verse tells both how God’s grace has extended to us; and what became this God to do, in bringing many to glory, into His very presence Who dwelleth in light unapproachable?

He was to bring them to glory. Therefore, He must go where they were, and become one with them as to their guilt (Not guilty Himself of course or He could not be the Sacrifice—NC), which He must bear; and become sin on their behalf (become like sin but not sin itself, i.e. “likeness of sin” Rom 8:3). So bringing many children unto glory would involve sufferings—the most terrible of all, to be forsaken of His Father—made a curse for us (sacrificed for the curse but without imputed sin - Gal 3:13—NC)! Nothing else could “become” God as regarding our sin and our sinful state (possessing the old man is sin’s source—NC).

1. It became His being, as God. It was into God’s presence we were to be brought (Heb 4:14, 16). 2. It became His holiness: with an infinite abhorrence He hated sin (Psa 97:10; Pro 8:13). 3. It became His righteousness: He must deal righteously in bringing others to glory (Jhn 17:22). 4. It became the God Whose name is Love (1Jo 4:8) to do this amazing thing—bring to glory many people. Only a God of Love would want us There. 5. It became His wisdom, “of Whom are all things and for Whom are all things” (Heb 2:10). He sees the eternities and has planned for them as it became Him. 6. It became His Lordship over all things (Phl 2:9-11). Knowing all things about all creatures, He could place them all where He would. God chose to place first those redeemed by His Son (Christians are second to the Trinity and are more important than the angels, man being the sole creature in God’s image—NC). 7. It became the Father because the Lord Jesus’ obedience unto death revealed God for all ages. He is worthy to be obeyed, said His Son, even into forsaking, anguish and death!

Finally, the Father infinitely loves His Son, the “Captain” of these people. Thus it became Him to plan for that Son a path of sufferings untold and unutterable, in walking in which day by day that Son’s fidelity to God His Father became manifest to all eternity; and God will forever remember the Son’s sufferings, as if they were but yesterday.

Thus, it became God to make the Leader of our “salvation perfect through sufferings” (Heb 2:10), and remember, if we suffer with Him, it is because we are redeemed by His sufferings and sacrifice. Satan hates redeemed ones, those trusting Christ’s one offering (Heb 10:10). So he makes them suffer, whether by temptation to doubt the Savior’s sacrifice; or be calling attention to their weak faith, or inconsistent walk (1Jo 2:6). The Lord Jesus accepted work on the Cross (accepted of the Father - 2Co 6:18), and not our grasp of it, is the question! We know that the Father has accepted His Son’s sacrifice (Matthew 3:17), because He raised Him from the dead and set Him at His own right hand in glory!

It became God . . . “to make Him perfect through sufferings.” It behooved Christ to suffer, and to “rise again from the dead.” The very foundation of the Gospel appears in this word, it became God! It became Him to judge sin; it became Him to give His own Son to bear sin (the Father could have come instead of the Word, but the Father wanted it to be the greatest sacrifice of all—NC). It became Him to lay before that Son a path “even unto death” (Mat 26:38).While we now “behold . . . Jesus crowned with glory and honor” (Psa 8:5; Heb 2:9), let us not only see His present place as God’s reward to Him for His path of obedience, but also regard His path of suffering thereto, as the only path which could become a holy God!

MJS daily devotional excerpt for June 5: Circumstantial Evidence

The Spirit convicts us of sins that we may be convinced of God’s cleansing. We do not deserve to be forgiven, but the Lord Jesus deserves to be trusted. -MJS (we deserve God's forgiveness after rebirth--NC)

“We find the greatest difficulty often in bringing our sorrow to God. How can I do so, some may be saying, as my sorrow is the fruit of my sin? How can I take it to God? If it was suffering for righteousness’ sake, then I would, but I am suffering for my sin; and can I, in the integrity of my heart towards God, take my sorrows to Him, knowing I deserve them?

“Yes: the Lord Jesus has been to God about them. This, then, is the ground on which I can go. There has been perfect atonement for all my sins; Christ has been judged for them. Will God judge us both? No; I go to Him on the ground of atonement, and God can justly meet me in all my sorrow, because Christ’s work has been so perfectly done.

“The guilt which the throne detects, the altar removes. If in the light of the throne one object is seen, namely, ruined, guilty, undone self; then, in the light of the altar, one object is seen, namely, a full, precious, all-sufficient Christ. The remedy reaches to the full extent of the ruin, and the same light that reveals the one reveals the other likewise. This gives settled repose to the conscience. God Himself has provided a remedy for all ruin which the light of His throne has revealed.” - John Nelson Darby (1800-1882)

'Deeply disturbing': Understanding the PCA's 'scandalizers' controversy

On this episode of "The Inside Story," The Christian Post's Jon Brown breaks down a surprising drama unfolding inside the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) after a leader in the denomination displayed a list of people he publicly accused of being "scandalizers."

"During an episode of The Gospel Coalition's 'Gospelbound' podcast last week that touched on institutional stewardship, the Rev. Bryan Chapell, who has served as the administrative head of the PCA since 2020, briefly showed a list of people whom he accused of either abandoning their families, renouncing Jesus Christ or dying by suicide," Brown wrote.

Furor and frustration immediately followed when viewers were able to zoom in and read the list of names. Some of those listed have since spoken up in shock and awe that they were included, denying the aforementioned claims.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia charged with human smuggling after return from El Salvador

Kilmer Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man whose deportation to El Salvador made him a flashpoint in President Donald Trump's immigration policy, faces human trafficking charges after he was returned to the United States, Attorney General Pam Bondi said.
Abrego Garcia made more than 100 trips to move illegal immigrants across the United States, Bondi said at a June 6 press conference, alleging he was a member of the MS-13 street gang. "Thousands of illegal aliens were smuggled," she said.
Abrego Garcia "traded the innocence of minor children for profit," Bondi said.

In now- deleted post, Rep. Miller is "deeply troubled" by 'Muslim' man [actually Sikh] leading House floor prayer in 'A Christian Nation'

Mary Miller says she’s ‘deeply troubled’ by Sikh man leading House floor prayer in deleted xenophobic post

The Republican member of Congress initially misidentified the man — who was invited to the House by another member — as Muslim

Miller wrote on X that the man, Giani Surinder Singh, “should never have been allowed” to lead the prayer and called for Congress to uphold the “truth” that “America was founded as a Christian nation.”

Miller’s original post incorrectly identified Singh as Muslim. She subsequently corrected the post before deleting it entirely.

“Congresswoman Miller should apologize for her remarks — to both the Sikh and Muslim communities, because no one should be targeted on the basis of their identity,” [Sikh Coalition leader] Singh said in a statement to POLITICO. “We encourage Congresswoman Miller to learn this lesson from her Sikh constituents, and would be happy to facilitate these conversations.”

“I’m troubled by my colleague’s remarks about this morning’s Sikh prayer, which have since been deleted,” Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.) wrote on X. “Throughout the country—and in the Central Valley— Sikh-Americans are valued and respected members of our communities, yet they continue to face harassment and discrimination.

EGW's writings--an inspired guide, per SDA General Conference

This statement was voted by the General Conference Session on
June 11, 2022.

We believe that the writings of Ellen G White were inspired by the Holy Spirit and are Christ centered and Bible based. Rather than replacing Scripture, they uplift its normative character, safeguard the Church from “every wind of doctrine” (Eph 4:14), and offer an inspired guide to Bible passages without exhausting their meaning or preventing further study. They also help us to overcome the human tendency to accept from the Bible what we like and to distort or disregard what we do not like.

Some other official statements, voted on by the General Conference session regarding Ellen White's writings.

Here is a statement of confidence from the 2015 GC session:

We reaffirm our conviction that her writings are divinely inspired, truly Christ-centered, and Bible-based. Rather than replacing the Bible, they uplift the normative character of Scripture and correct inaccurate interpretations of it derived from tradition, human reason, personal experience, and modern culture.

From the 28 fundamental beliefs, also voted by the General Conference session:

The Gift of Prophecy
The Scriptures testify that one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and we believe it was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. Her writings speak with prophetic authority and provide comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction to the church. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested. (Num. 12:6; 2 Chron. 20:20; Amos 3:7; Joel 2:28, 29; Acts 2:14-21; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 12:17; 19:10; 22:8, 9.)

Palantir founder, Trump ally Peter Thiel talks Antichrist, coming 'totalitarian' system in resurfaced interview

'The Antichrist takes over by talking about Armageddon,' Thiel said in pre-election interview

In a newly-resurfaced interview, Silicon Valley entrepreneur and longtime ally of President Donald Trump, Peter Thiel, said he believes biblical concepts like the Antichrist and Armageddon stem from the potential of catastrophic technologies that could lead to a totalitarian one-world government.

Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal and the first outside investor in Facebook, stated in an October 2024 interview with Stanford University’s think-tank, the Hoover Institution, that the Antichrist figure from the book of Revelation could emerge by exploiting fears of apocalyptic destruction and offering a solution through global governance. He told “Uncommon Knowledge with Peter Robinson” this figure or system would present itself as a savior, promising "peace and safety" in a world of extreme stakes.

Pointing to 1 Thessalonians 5:3, Thiel, 57, said his “speculative thesis is that if the Antichrist were to come to power, it would be by talking about Armageddon all the time.” He added, “The slogan of the Antichrist is peace and safety, which is nothing wrong with peace and safety. But you have to sort of imagine that it resonates very differently in a world where the stakes are so absolute, where the stakes are so extreme, where the alternative to peace and safety is Armageddon and the destruction of all things."

Trump Appoints College Grad Thomas Fugate to Head Terrorism Prevention Unit

But why? Perhaps because destroying government from the inside is the go-to tactic this time.

His career blastoff came quickly. A year after graduation, the 22-year-old with no apparent national security expertise is now a Department of Homeland Security official overseeing the government’s main hub for terrorism prevention, including an $18 million grant program intended to help communities combat violent extremism.

The White House appointed Fugate, a former Trump campaign worker who interned at the hard-right Heritage Foundation, to a Homeland Security role that was expanded to include the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships. Known as CP3, the office has led nationwide efforts to prevent hate-fueled attacks, school shootings and other forms of targeted violence.

Fugate’s appointment is the latest shock for an office that has been decimated since President Donald Trump returned to the White House and began remaking national security to give it a laser focus on immigration.

Maybe why:
In these circles, two main theories have emerged to explain Fugate’s unusual ascent. One is that the Trump administration rewarded a Gen Z campaign worker with a resume-boosting title that comes with little real power because the office is in shambles.

The other is that the White House installed Fugate to oversee a pivot away from traditional counterterrorism lanes and to steer resources toward MAGA-friendly sheriffs and border security projects before eventually shuttering operations. In this scenario, Fugate was described as “a minder” and “a babysitter.”

DOGE Developed Error-Prone AI Tool to “Munch” Veterans Affairs Contracts

"As the Trump administration prepared to cancel contracts at the Department of Veteran Affairs this year, officials turned to a software engineer with no health care or government experience to guide them. The engineer, working for the Department of Government Efficiency, quickly built an artificial intelligence tool to identify which services from private companies were not essential. He labeled those contracts “MUNCHABLE.”
The code, using outdated and inexpensive AI models, produced results with glaring mistakes. For instance, it hallucinated the size of contracts, frequently misreading them and inflating their value. It concluded more than a thousand were each worth $34 million, when in fact some were for as little as $35,000.
The DOGE AI tool flagged more than 2,000 contracts for “munching.” It’s unclear how many have been or are on track to be canceled — the Trump administration’s decisions on VA contracts have largely been a black box. The VA uses contractors for many reasons, including to support hospitals, research and other services aimed at caring for ailing veterans. VA officials have said they’ve killed nearly 600 contracts overall. Congressional Democrats have been pressing VA leaders for specific details of what’s been canceled without success.
We identified at least two dozen on the DOGE list that have been canceled so far. Among the canceled contracts was one to maintain a gene sequencing device used to develop better cancer treatments. Another was for blood sample analysis in support of a VA research project. Another was to provide additional tools to measure and improve the care nurses provide.' Propublica (a good read in it's entirety)
Fire the Inspector Generals who have a grasp on the department inner workings they police, and have some kid with no knowledge what so ever create some error prone code and kill contracts and fire Veterans.
These actions are behind the acclaimed 2Trillion, 1Trillion, 160B minus the cost of firing 135B = 25B savings.
They literally should start a agency to cover the cost of all the lawsuits by people wrongfully terminated.
They should call it Department Of Lawless Termination (DOLT).

Netanyahu cabinet arms criminals

The Netanayahu cabinet is distributing weapons to criminal gangs operating in the Gaza strip as to counter Hamas. The gang is even possibly related to terrorist group IS. So the current Isreali government has step even lower than it was.
Is that the type of ally the USA wants? One that arms former enemy IS?

Lieberman, who heads the Yisrael Beiteinu party, had told the public broadcaster, Kan, that Netanyahu had unilaterally approved the transfer of weapons to the Abu Shabab clan.

"The Israeli government is giving weapons to a group of criminals and felons, identified with the Islamic State group," Lieberman said.

Israel has been arming a criminal gang in the Gaza Strip as part of an effort to strengthen opposition to Hamas in the enclave, defense sources confirmed on Thursday following remarks on the matter by former defense minister Avigdor Liberman.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later confirmed the report, saying the move helped save Israeli soldiers’ lives.
Liberman, who heads the opposition Yisrael Beytenu party, told the Kan public broadcaster on Thursday morning that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had unilaterally approved the transfer of weapons to the Abu Shabab clan, an armed gang or militia that is opposed to Hamas’s rule in the Gaza Strip.

“The Israeli government is giving weapons to a group of criminals and felons, identified with Islamic State, at the direction of the prime minister,” Liberman charged. “To my knowledge, this did not go through approval by the cabinet.”
He claimed that Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar was aware of the decision to arm the group, “but I don’t know how much the IDF chief of staff was in on it.”

It looks like many people believe Yahovah God is not a just god and sends people to Hell. Hell is a much misunderstood concept, but that is not for this thread. But God sends no one into the Lake of Fire (Eternal Torment). Yashua will be the Judge, being Perfect and a Just Judge, He will honor your choice and will not violate His Holy Instructions He has left for us to live by or to reject, and by doing so, choose to spend Eternity separated from Heaven and God. SPLC-linked report ties terms 'prayer warrior,' Greek word for 'church' to Christian nationalism

Report alleges Trump, supporters want to make America an 'explicitly Christian realm governed by divinely-inspired law

An offshoot group linked to the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) released a new report this week that links common Christian phrases like “prayer warrior” and “divinely appointed” to Christian nationalism.

The “Faith as a Weapon: Inside America’s Theocratic Vanguard” report from the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE) examines the rise of Christian nationalism, the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), and Catholic integralism as interconnected movements reshaping American politics by merging religious zeal with political power. Linking various politicians and Christian leaders with the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, and the dominionist NAR theology, the report alleges such leaders are advocating for governance based on their interpretation of God’s law, and thereby pose a threat to constitutional religious freedom.

With a dramatic header image of a Christian cross planted in scorched and burning earth flanked by the American flag, “Faith as a Weapon” takes aim at Project 2025 and key figures like Russell Vought, Leonard Leo, and Paula White-Cain, whose influence on the Trump administration, the report states, results in “elevating particular religious perspectives while marginalizing others, including religious minorities, a large number of Christians, and secular Americans.”

Spirit vision spiritual gift?

Hi everyone, something interesting- I know of 2 people at my church that have a very strong spiritual gift, apparently it has a name, it is called "sight" or "spirit vision". Both of these people see auras around people, they can tell if you are sick by your aura. IE if you have a blue glow around you that means something. Both of these people see the exact same thing without communicating with eachother! There may be even more believers out there that have this gift, someone at my other church may have it as well. Is there anyone on this forum that has this gift or knows someone else that does?
