Macron Blames Video Game for Teen Killing Riot

I'm not one to say the teen is in the right to drive away from a police stop. If you're deliberately avoid a police stop there is a high chance you have something to hide. Not saying shooting the teen is justifiable either. There are enough lack of intelligence on both parties to bake an ID-Ten-T (l33t talk) cake.

But nothing takes that cake to the next level like Macron. Blaming video games! Gotta look out for those GTA & Postal enthusiasts!

I hereby anoint the President of France with the gamer achievement of "le imbécile".

Shattering the myth of men as hunters and women as gatherers

Shattering the myth of men as hunters and women as gatherers

…A common belief holds that, among foraging populations, men have typically hunted animals while women gathered plant products for food. However, mounting archaeological evidence from across human history and prehistory is challenging this paradigm; for instance, women in many societies have been found buried alongside big-game hunting tools.

Some researchers have suggested that women's role as hunters was confined to the past, with more recent foraging societies following the paradigm of men as hunters and women as gatherers. To investigate that possibility, Anderson and colleagues analyzed data from the past 100 years on 63 foraging societies around the world, including societies in North and South America, Africa, Australia, Asia, and the Oceanic region.

They found that women hunt in 79% of the analyzed societies, regardless of their status as mothers. More than 70% of female hunting appears to be intentional—as opposed to opportunistic killing of animals encountered while performing other activities, and intentional hunting by women appears to target game of all sizes, most often large game.

The analysis also revealed that women are actively involved in teaching hunting practices and that they often employ a greater variety of weapon choice and hunting strategies than men.

These findings suggest that, in many foraging societies, women are skilled hunters and play an instrumental role in the practice, adding to the evidence opposing long-held perceptions about gender roles in foraging societies….

Tractive - Pride Month Product Pusher Cancels Service for Dog Owner

A Tractive employee cancelled their dog tracking service for a dog named Bella because the owner retorted back in an email after being pushed pride month merch. What he said? Do your job and not virtue signal. Little did the employee knew that the owner Jonathan Miller is a journalist. He put his experience to pen detailing for all to read. With the exposure the CEO officially wrote back to Mr. Miller apologizing and reinstated their service with a 3 month free service added. Of course being a "progressive" company the CEO can't help himself by emphasizing the company don't share Mr. Miller's views. What a "great" apology (*sigh & groan*).

I always wonder where customer service has gone in "progressive" company. Always want to be in the "right". Your pride means nothing if you have no customers left. I have been personally scolded even when it was the customer's fault. I have never once retaliated back with a passive aggressive remark in anyway. My goal is to ensure the customer is able comply with the requirements so the company can process and begin rendering services. Even if it means I have to humble myself for no reason. Angry customers will eventually calm down and see reason. A lost customer is forever lost (Bud Lite).

Tractive is lucky Mr. Miller didn't take further offense to the backhanded apology. At least he got to be passive aggressive on Piers Morgan. Something I guess.

My name

My name is BlackNBlueXtian. I chose this name because my life as a Christian and more specifically, as a church member has been anything but wonderful. As an older single male I find that the church only cares about married people and it is becoming increasingly irrelevant to me. It has left me "black n blue"!

Harvard & the Ivy League - Racism through Diversity Filters

This is nothing new, we Asians (East and South Asians) knew very well that we're discriminated against in Ivy league applications. Despite being one of the highest academic achievers in the world. Due to the disproportionate numbers of us, the Ivy league had to find a way to reject us in favor of other ethnicities mainly Blacks and Latinos/Hispanics. They added all sort of filters hidden as subjective intangible tests to lower our admission scores to justify their pick of others over us. So as not to come off as racist (but they are). But we knew, we have always knew from our grape vine. It is an open secret in our community. We had long grit our teeth and played along to get whatever SCRAPS we are allowed to have by quota. Well no longer!

This recent case of victory has expose for good the incontrovertible truth. And hope moving forward ALL people can have a fair shot in admission. Same standard and merit for ALL. Let's hope the snakes in Ivy league admission boards don't try another underhanded tactic to bar us Asians anymore.

Two Torahs

The Apostle Paul clues us in on a subtle distinction made in the Tanakh:

1 Corinthians 9:19–21 (NASB95)
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more.
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law;
21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.
  1. I am free from all men
  2. I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more.
  3. To the Jews (those who are under the Law) I became as a Jew (as under the Law though not being myself under the Law), so that I might win Jews so that I might win those who are under the Law;
  4. to Gentiles (those who are without law), as without law, though not being without the law of God specifically under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.
Clearly there are two Laws (Torahs) referred to here.
  • Torah Moshe (the Law of Moses)
  • Torah Moshiakh (the Law of God)
The Law of Moses was given to Moses by God as a precursor to God's Law. Note the contrast:

Jeremiah 31:31–34 (NASB95)
31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.
33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
34 “They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Torah Moshe convicts all of sin. Until the cross of Yeshua, it provided a temporal atonement with ritualistic sacrifice.
Torah Moshiakh provides eternal forgiveness for all sin.

Torah Moshe had to be sought, taught, and applied.
Torah Moshiakh is placed into the heart and sealed by the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Torah Moshiakh reveals who YHVH is.

Matthew 11:27 (NASB95)
27 “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

Yeshua is YHVH (John 8:58 / Exodus 3:14-15 / Isaiah 44:24 - Nehemiah 9:6 / John 1:3 / Colossians 1:16). Who was with the Father in the beginning (1 John 1:1-2). And no one knew that until Yeshua came into the world.

Non believers on a Christian forum

I'm just trying to understand. Not a judgement on any of you. Why would you want to be in a Christian forum? It would be nice if you're on the fence and you might fall over to our side. Hopefully to learn about Jesus. I've talked to a few and they made no bones about their hatred, one was converting people to his side. What about you?

What is the unforgivable sin?

There is only one unforgivable sin: A person commits it when he defiantly refuses the Holy Spirit for all time.

Numbers 15 (NIV):
30 But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD and must be cut off from the people of Israel.

Sinning defiantly is associated with blaspheming the LORD. It is a person who hardens his heart against the LORD. It foreshadows Jesus' concept of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Some scribes were defiant despite Jesus' patience with them

1 John 1:
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Admit that you have sinned, then you will be forgiven. If you don't admit it, then it is not forgiven.

Luke 12:
10 everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that will never be forgiven?

Matthew 12:
22 Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed, and said, “Can this be the Son of David?” 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”

These Pharisees have hardened their hearts so much that they stubbornly attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to the evil spirit.

31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Stubbornly calling the Holy Spirit evil will not be forgiven because they refused to correct themselves.

32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

If a person keeps calling the Holy Spirit evil, he cannot be born of the Spirit. The Spirit will not dwell in him. He cannot be born again. It is self-condemning.

Mark 3:
28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30for they were saying, “He has an **unclean** spirit.”

They stubbornly accuse the Holy Spirit in Jesus as unclean. In general, anyone who stubbornly refused the Holy Spirit commits the unforgivable sin. He has condemned himself unless he repents.

If God is sovereign how can man have free will?

I know there has been a billion topics on this subject including one made by me several months ago but they're all inactive now and I don't want to resurrect old topics. My question is a common one. It is this, if mankind is really free to decide whatever they want, how can God be sovereign? Don't forget, the Bible says that God is sovereign over ALL things. If our will is somehow exempt from this how can God still be sovereign over all things? Including being sovereign over our human nature. Surely if we were sovereign our sin would be a free will choice and not something that we do without even thinking. So if we truly had free will those of us who are true Christians would never sin against God again. Think about it, everytime we sin the Holy Spirit convicts us and makes us feel dead inside. If we had freewill and chose according to our desires every true child of God would NEVER sin again because we don't want to sin. We want to obey God and his commands. We want to follow God's will for our lives so if we had free will, if sin were really a choice what do you think Christians would chose?

I mean, think of the story of Joseph and his brothers. When his brothers repented what did Joseph say to them? You meant sin for evil buy God meant it for good. Or the story of Pharoah. The Bible says that God hardened his heart so that Pharoah wouldn't let Moses or the Israelites go, Did Pharoah have free will? Of course not or the Bible wouldn't have said that Pharoah was created for destruction and that God hardened his heart on purpose.

i mean, examine the animals or fish. Do they have a free will? Or does God declare what they do and don't do? What about DNA, atoms, the universe, or planets? Do they have the freedom to act as they want or does God determine what they do? It's ludicrous to suggest that these things have the ability to choose whatever they want or nothing that God created would be subject to or obey him. Think about it, if planets moved as they freely wanted than they could just freely crash into the Earth and kill everything living on the planet. God has to be sovereign over space or we would all die. If DNA did whatever it wanted to how could we survive? If atoms ran amok there would be massive nuclear explosions everywhere, Chaos. Yet, somehow humanity is the one exemption? So God is sovereign over all things but not humans because humans can run amok and do horrible things?

But answer me this. What if the fall was foreordained by God? Let's say Adam and Eve's rebellion against God was exactly what God wanted. Why would that be a bad thing? Our salvation was also ordained by God and what if like Joseph's brothers Adam and Eve meant their sin to be evil but God wanted it for the good of the world?

I am not demeaning man's responsibility in its falleness or mankinds responsibity to positively respond to the Gospel. Nor am I calling God evil. I'm calling him the exact opposite of evil. I'm calling him so sovereign and so in control and so good that we don't even realize it. I'm calling our inherited sinful nature foreordained by God so that he could show his creation just how good he is. After all, that's why God chose to save humanity. To display his goodness and for his glory. I mean just think about it. If God wasn't in control of humanity there would be SO much more Chaos than there is right now. The days of Noah are living proof to just how fallen mankind really is and God said, before time as we know it ends the world is going to be EXACTLY as it was in the days of Noah. And we're starting to see it, babies being murdered by the millions, homosexuals being allowed to marry and mate all in the name of "love"? Wake up! Quit calling evil good and quit calling God evil. God is more holy than any of our feeble tiny minds could EVER comprehend. God is in control it does NOT make us robots it makes us humans created by God and as humans our natural inclination is to do evil. We do what our father the devil desires. Only God can regenerate the hearts of mankind to accept him and to desire to be Holy and keep his commands. By ourselves we will only sin and sin and sin with no end in sight. We would all be like Hitler and the evil men of history if God had no control over our lives. Because the unregenerate heart desires evil it lives for evil and it will only DO evil.

Anyway, I apologize for making my case so long. If you want the TLDR of the topic it's the question "if mankind really is free, how can God be sovereign over all things?"

“Nefarious”: Screwtape Meets Hannibal Lecter

Reading “The Screwtape Letters” can be a creepy and unsettling experience because C.S. Lewis does not merely take us into the head of the human who is experiencing temptation, but into the malevolent mind of the devil himself. This same psycho-dramatic technique is employed by the directors of the recently released horror film, “Nefarious,” in which a serial killer appears to be demonically possessed.

Perhaps the darkest of all C.S. Lewis’s works and probably the strangest is The Screwtape Letters in which the narrative voice is that of a demon giving instructions to a junior devil. Throughout its pages, Screwtape teaches Wormwood, the novice demon, how to work and worm his way within the mind and emotions of his human victim, offering suggestive rationalizations and excuses for sin. The satanic mission of this demonic duo is nothing less than to lead their victim into temptation as a means of bringing about his damnation. Their actions are the very inversion and perversion of the prayer of the Our Father, which are designed to deliver us to the evil of “Our Father Below”.

Church of Laodicea

I believe the boomer generation is the lukewarm church. Look what the country and the world have become. We left Eph 6 in the closet. Allowing the lies to spew in the media and from the government. Anyone with 6 decades of life should see this societal lunacy is over the top. What Christian organizations are standing up for biology and suing the government for the truth? Truth should be foundational in the Christian belief and we turn a blind eye to it not willing (my dad would say weak) to resist. No wonder Jesus wants to spit, we leave a bad taste in His mouth. Our fathers fought WWII so their kids could turn the country into this? Sadly I take full responsibility as a boomer. God told us how this play would unfold and because of the church of Laodicea, Hot on issues when it's against our neighbor and Cold on satans system. The evil ones can't take control unless they have all the money because they are not God. Depleting your kid's inheritance thru healthcare cabal and economic manipulation. COLD on lies because how did we get here? Never know what to believe in media pure sensationalism and lies. I popped my head out of my butt last year, my arrogance. Now I have to be active in politics.

For my boomer neighbors get yourself healthy then you'll realize the abundant life and you'll steal from the devil. The longer we live the better for our kid's assistance. YouTube lookup reversing diabetes, It's working for me. The amazing body the Lord created. Molecular biology is kinda fascinating. I also learned some stuff about stocks and the economy, another way to finance antichrists' dominance. The more financial videos I watch the more suspect I get about monetary policy.

God is a gentle whisper

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
1 Kings 19:11-12

How do I respond to someone who says God spoke to them and said, when clearly this is not in scripture or anything remotely Christian?
I have listened to Arminianism and Calvinism, and both are right, from a perspective.
Scripture is so full of different experiences and views it is difficult to take it in, yet it is all connected.

Grace is important, and aiming at perfection, struggling through hard times, counting ones blessing and passing through times of testing.
Some seem contradictions, but the light has dawned. Jesus was not interested in status, if acknowledging who He was, but beginning to
see everything is a walk, either into life or into death. And He is patient, kind but also a destroying fire, something to be feared but also
loved. Until we can see as Jesus sees, how can we come close to knowledge or insight.
So loving people are condemned by ardent followers of Jesus, enough to execute them. Who did God judge? Nineveh because of its
sinful behaviour, not its beliefs.

A sign of Gods people is their love one for another. For some groups miracles is their sign, but they are making enemies of loving people.

Jesus's test of followers of the Lord was that they loved those who love others, and if they do not love God, they hate people of love.
It is ironic if the people who claim to know God, become righteous people of violence against their evil enemies which is the ultimate
judging of another and condemning them of sin and evil while claiming they are clean and righteous so justified in holding this position.

God bless you

January 6 fugitive arrested in Obama’s neighborhood with guns and materials to make Molotov cocktails (referencing a Trump post w/Obama's address)

January 6 fugitive arrested in Obama’s DC neighborhood with guns and materials to make Molotov cocktails (after quoting Trump post that shares Obama's address)

A man with numerous firearms and materials to make an explosive was arrested Thursday in former President Barack Obama’s Washington, DC, neighborhood after claiming on an internet livestream that he had a detonator, law enforcement officials told CNN.

Taylor Taranto, who had an open warrant for his arrest related to the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department and federal law enforcement. He has been charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Trump Post Revealing Obama Address Was Shared By Jan 6 Fugitive Hours Before He Was Arrested With Guns Near Obama Home

Several details of the arrest are stunning and disturbing, including the fact that Taranto posted the message “Got them surrounded!” above a Trump Truth Social post that included a news article revealing the address of the Obama home, as well as several other prominent Democratic figures.

Man arrested with guns near Obama’s house had been acting erratically

The man who was arrested Thursday with weapons in his van near the residence of former president Barack Obama had been acting erratically and espousing baseless claims that even some of the most ardent Jan. 6 defendants found distasteful, according to multiple people who said they recently interacted with the man.
Multiple Jan. 6 demonstrators outside of the D.C. jail said they had kicked Taranto out of their group on Saturday after he attempted to play a video that showed the death of Ashli Babbitt in front of her mother.

SITE linked Taranto to his social media accounts by cross-checking them with his public records. He had an active YouTube channel that was under his name and included videos of himself speaking and inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, she said.
“Review of his posts revealed an obsession with Trump and conspiracy theories,” Katz wrote. She added: “In recent weeks, many of his posts included reports referring to Obama as ‘coaching up left-wing house Democrats in private meetings’ and claiming Obama is contributing to a shadow government aimed at destroying Trump.”

Homeschool parents arrested after 10-year-old boy weighing 36 pounds found on the way to grocery store

‘This child was, simply put, being starved to death’

Two homeschooling parents in Georgia face myriad charges after their 10-year-old child was found emaciated, wandering along the street in search of food, and begging never to return to their grasp or residence, authorities in the Peach State said on Tuesday.

Tyler Schindley and Krista Schindley each stand accused of attempted homicide in the second degree and attempted malice murder. They also face charges of cruelty to children in the first degree, second degree, and third degree, battery, simple battery, and false imprisonment, Spears said on Tuesday.

According to warrants in the case obtained by Atlanta-based NBC affiliate WXIA, the couple caused their son “cruel and excessive physical and mental pain” when they “intentionally withheld food from the juvenile for an extended period of time.”

There were several additional children in the home, authorities said. They have since been removed and placed in the custody of the Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services. The children were all being homeschooled, according to the GPD.

Chapter Talk 7/2/23 Humility

Chapter Talk 7/2/23

Humility

"The seventh degree of humility is, when, not only with his tongue he declared but also in his inmost soul believes, that he is the lowest and vilest of men, humbling himself and saying with the Prophet: 'But I am a worm and no man, the reproach of men and the outcast of the people.'

Rule of Benedict chapter 7.

++++++++++

When I was a young monk, I always had a negative reaction to the above quote. I simply did not believe that such a statement could be made with any real honesty by your average man or woman, let alone someone entering a monastery. I certainly did not experience myself as being vile, let alone the vilest.

However, as the years passed quickly by I began to reconsider what the above quote meant to me after a few decades.

Humility and self-knowledge are inseparable, they can in no way be separated. They are like two mirrors reflecting back on each other in an endless dialogue that is transparent, childlike, and not afraid of what lies beneath our conscious minds. Well, ideally that is true. In real life, self-knowledge is often forced upon us, and we can always find reasons to turn away from what it can teach us. Yet there is a heavy price to pay.

I believe that when we do not deal with ourselves before the Lord in an honest manner, owning up to our foibles, the only way they can be dealt with is in those around us. Gossip intrigues, and withdrawal from the community can be faulted on a lack of humility, usually. It is humility that allows us to grow up and to be on the way to becoming centered, responsible, and overall, happy in our vocation. If we choose to continue resisting what our reactions to others have to teach us, then we will continue in our anger, and bitterness is the fruit of such a path. Eventually, it could lead to abandoning our vocation entirely.

I do believe that most people in monasteries struggle with the above to different degrees. Our past does have a hold on us and will often move us from behind the scenes.

Communities are very imperfect, and it is this very imperfection that can bring to the surface our inner fears, anxieties, and yes even hatred. It can be quite the endless merry-go-round without the ring at the end. There is no happy ending.

As long as there are people, customs, and dysfunctions around us that we can complain about, either vocally, or not, we will not have to take responsibility for our part in the communal situation. We can stand apart and judge from a very limited perspective. What is this perspective? Well, one way of putting it is this: “I just want everything to go the way I want it, and by the way, I want all those brothers who annoy me, to just stop.” The problem is that it is not going to happen. I do think we are all on someone’s list.

Every community has some members who have to be shown compassion, and mercy, even though the ones receiving, cannot return it. We all have different limitations, some more severe than others. Those with the most severe need the most compassion and mercy. Even if it means they have to leave, or that they leave on their own. Or, the community as a whole has to live with it the best way they can.

Self-acceptance of others comes when we learn to love ourselves as Christ commands us to. This can be a problem, when we go deeper in prayer we begin to see aspects of ourselves that could be considered vile, very vile. Festering wounds that need healing will find ways of letting us know they are there. Dealing with our inner ‘demons’ can be a lifelong process, and what we learn from this is that others struggle as well. We all have goads that keep us moving forward, even if we are crippled, and move forward slowly.

How we treat one another, as well as ourselves, which I believe are inseparable, is like being a sower of the field. When we interact with others, we leave them either a better person or one that is wounded and perhaps pushed further into isolation.

I believe that before God, each soul is an entire universe. So in this room, we have a gathering of persons, each with a rich inner life, as well as their fair share of chaos, pain, and yes, evil. Each, if left to themselves becomes saddled with a sort of personal infallibility that actually become their hell. How do these persons communicate? The bridge out of hell is of course love. Not the sentimental kind, but love that is based on insight into the worth of all others, and that brings with it the desire to be just towards all, which is love lived out in real-time. It is humility that allows that to happen, where defenses are dropped, and there is no need to judge others harshly because we know ourselves, and understand that we are all on a journey together if we only learn to see, listen, and yes love. Perhaps the ‘death to self’ that Jesus talks about, is this actual dethronement of our own infallibility.

So, yes, now that I am older I can read the opening quote and understand what it is saying. It is not something based on self-hatred, or a bad self-image, but on truth, the awful truth of the human situation, and the struggle we all must go through in order to allow the grace of healing to take hold.

People talk about human freedom as if it is something we are born with. No, we are born with the potential to grow in freedom. However, it is a long slow process, and with healing, it can move forward at a faster pace. Yet, we must revisit the same struggles over and over again, with failures, and starting again. Humility allows us to not give in to despair, which is a great temptation I believe for all humans who seek to grow in their love of God and others. Grace works in secret, and it is the virtue of humility that allows us to embrace that reality, and quietly, lovingly move forward.

In the end, it is about trust.

There is a reason that our Father St. Benedict tells his monks to never despair of the mercy of God. As we mature, we understand more deeply why he had to put that in the rule.-Br.MD

The Pure in Heart

Jeremiah 17:9-10 ESV

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
‘I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.’”

I sometimes hear other people and some pastors quote verse nine here and apply it to all people, including to Christians, and that always bothers me. Why? Because, as Christians we should have hearts which are now surrendered to God. Our hearts shouldn’t be deceitful and desperately sick (wicked). Now I would agree that our fleshly hearts are like this before we have changed hearts, and prior to the Spirit living within us, but shouldn’t we have changed hearts, renewed of the Spirit of God?

For, we read in Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” And we read in Matthew 6:20-21 that we are to lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven.. for where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. And in Matthew 12:34-35 we read, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.”

And in Matthew 22:37 we read, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” But how can we do that if we all have deceitful and wicked hearts? And in Luke 8:15 we read, “As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.” So, some people have honest and good hearts.

And in John 7:38 we read, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” And in Acts 2:46 we read about “glad and generous hearts.” And in Acts 4:32 we read, “Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul,” and that was a heart surrendered to God. And in Acts 13:22 we read, “I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.”

And in Acts 15:9 we read, “having cleansed their hearts by faith.” And in Romans 5:5 we read, “because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” So, we can, by faith in Jesus, have cleansed and pure hearts. And in Romans 6:17 we read, “have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed.” So, we can have obedient hearts to God.

And in Romans 10:1 we read, “My heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.” And 2 Corinthians 4:6 says, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” In Galatians 4:6 we read, “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’”

And Ephesians 3:17 says, “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love.” And Ephesians 6:6 says, “not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.” And in Colossians 3:15, “compassionate hearts.” We read in 2 Thessalonians 3:5, “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.”

And in 1 Timothy 1:5, “The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” And in 2 Timothy 2:22 we read, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” So, if we believe in Jesus Christ with God-given faith in him, we can have pure hearts, good and honest hearts, and we can love God with our whole heart.

We can have glad and generous hearts, and hearts which are surrendered to Jesus Christ, and we can be people after God’s own heart, and have cleansed hearts, and hearts filled with the love of God. And we can have obedient hearts and hearts which desire good for others. We can have hearts filled with the light of truth, and Spirit-filled hearts, hearts that are committed to doing the will of God, compassionate hearts, and hearts which are directed to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.

So, yes, in our sin nature, we have deceitful and wicked hearts. But once we have been transformed in heart and mind of the Spirit of God, and our hearts have been cleansed and made new by God-given faith in Jesus Christ, and God is living within our hearts, by faith in him, our hearts shouldn’t be deceitful and desperately wicked. Now they should be pure, honest, good, moral, upright, godly, generous, and hearts filled with the love of God.

But this doesn’t mean that everyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ has a pure, honest, upright, and godly heart committed to obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. This comes through us daily dying to sin and to self and us daily surrendering our hearts to the Lord and walking in his ways and in his truth. But it is the Lord who tests our hearts, and he will give to each one of us according to our ways (see Romans 2:6-8; Galatians 6:7-8).

So, just know that not all of us have deceitful and desperately wicked hearts, not if our hearts have been cleansed and renewed of the Holy Spirit. But we still live in flesh bodies, and so we still have the ability to return to wicked and deceitful hearts if we cease to surrender our hearts to the Lord, and if we stop obeying the Lord, in practice, and if we go back to living in sin and for self. So, we need to guard our hearts so we keep having pure hearts.

My Sheep

An Original Work / June 24, 2012
Based off John 10:1-18 NIV

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

Colossians and the Gospel

What does Colossians mean when it says we have been made meet, fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light? We whom have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's Son. In whom we have been redeemed, bought back from the slavery of sin through His blood even having the forgiveness, removal of the sins. In whom we now have peace through the blood of His cross. Having been redeemed, bought back from the slavery of sin. Having the removal of sins that are past. Reconciled. One with God. No longer alienated and enemies through the wicked works of our mind, of our creation but reconciled in the body of His flesh through death. To be presented holy and unblameable, unblemished by sin and therefore unreproveable in His sight. But only If we continue settled and grounded in the faith that speaks what is written above. Not Removed from the hope of the Gospel. Which is Christ in us the hope of glory. Therein Striving according to His working that works in us mightily. Our Hearts comforted and knitted together in love. Unto all riches and the full assurance of the understanding and acknowledgement of this mystery which is Christ in you. In whom are hid all wisdom and knowledge.
So as we have received Christ Jesus let us walk in Him. Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith. Abounding in it with thanksgiving even as we were taught. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of God bodily. And we are complete in Him. Circumcised with circumcision made without hands in the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Buried with Him in baptism that old man be crucified with Him the body of sins be destroyed. Hence forth we do not serve sin but become servants of righteousness. Delivered from the power of darkness. Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith. Having risen with Him through the faith and operation of God. Who raised Him from the dead. Quickened together with Him having forgiven us all our trespasses. What does all that mean if not us living sinless now?

The Perpetrators of the Crime of Dissolving a Christian Service in Lampung Were Not Arrested

The Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) decided not to arrest Wawan Kurniawan, the RT head who was suspected of disbanding church services.

This is different if the offender is a non-Muslim. Generally non-Muslim perpetrators will be jailed. Look at what happened in the case of Ahok being imprisoned on the grounds of blasphemy, look at the case of Meiliana who was imprisoned on the grounds of blasphemy.

Another example of a Muslim figure who committed religious blasphemy against Christians is Ustads Abdul Somad, Habieb Rizieq and others. They were not jailed and free from accusations of religious blasphemy.
