(MOVED) Fearful

Are you afraid of loss of free speech in your country now? Is it so terrible for a comedian to say "MAGA people are trying as hard as they can to make the Charlie Kirk assassin into anything but a MAGA adherent." Is that untrue, were MAGA spokes people doing that? Was the claim made that his assassin was a liberal extremist when no one knew (yet) what his views were or who he was.

Can a Christian in good faith play along with this whole thing?

The statement that “MAGA people are trying as hard as they can to make the Charlie Kirk assassin into anything but a MAGA adherent” reflects a contested interpretation of early reactions to the tragic killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In the immediate aftermath, prominent MAGA-aligned figures—including President Donald Trump and commentators like Laura Loomer—publicly blamed “radical left” ideology for the attack, despite limited verified information about the suspect’s political affiliations at that time. This rhetorical framing was echoed by others in the movement who called for government crackdowns on left-wing groups and invoked historical analogies to FBI surveillance of political radicals. Such responses suggest that some MAGA spokespeople did indeed attempt to distance the perpetrator from their own ideological camp and attribute the violence to opposing political forces, even before full details were available.

Subsequent reporting confirmed that the accused, Tyler Robinson, held views described by Utah Governor Spencer Cox and FBI officials as “leftist” and “radicalised”. Text messages released by law enforcement revealed Robinson’s intent and ideological motivation, including references to Kirk’s perceived “hatred”. While these revelations lend credence to the claim that Robinson was not aligned with MAGA ideology, the initial rush to politicise the event—by both MAGA supporters and critics—underscores the moral hazard of premature attribution. From a Catholic moral standpoint, such tragedies call for restraint, truthfulness, and a commitment to justice over partisan gain (cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church, §§2477–2478). The dignity of the victim and the gravity of the act demand sober reflection, not opportunistic framing.

I Plead the Fourth

I Plead the Fourth

The First Three Commandments

God asserts Himself in each of the first three commandments.

Exodus 20:1-3 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:4-6 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

The Fourth Commandment

God asserts Himself three times in the fourth commandment.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Lord of the Sabbath
  • In six days, God created the heaven and earth, and then rested on the seventh day, blessing and hallowing it.
  • In the fourth commandment, God says the Sabbath is His. He points back to creation.
  • Jesus says that, because the Sabbath was made for man (He points back to creation), He is Lord of the Sabbath.
A Day of Remembrance
  • The Sabbath day was blessed and hallowed at creation.
  • Leviticus 23:3 says that the Sabbath is a holy convocation.
  • The fourth commandment says to remember the Sabbath to keep it holy.
  • Exodus 31:16 calls the fourth commandment a perpetual covenant.
The Seal of God

The Seal of God is found in the fourth commandment.
Name: The Lord
Title: Creator (made)
Territory: Heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is
  • Exodus 31:13, and Exodus 31:17 call the fourth commandment a sign, and points back to creation.
The Last Call to Worship

The last call to worship points back to creation, just as the fourth commandment does.

Revelation 14:6-7 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Revelation 14 continues...
Revelation 14:8-11 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
In stark contrast...
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Conclusion

Scripture keeps pointing back to creation.
  • Exodus 20:8-11 The Sabbath commandment.
  • Mark 2:27-28 The Lord of the Sabbath.
  • Exodus 31:13-17 The Sabbath a sign and perpetual covenant.
  • Leviticus 23:3 The holy convocation.
  • Exodus 20:8-11 The Seal of God.
  • Revelation 14:6-12 The last call to worship.
God might be trying to tell us something.

Franklin Graham says murder of Charlie Kirk shows Left wants to silence opponents

'I hope this is going to raise up an army of young people'

Samaritan's Purse CEO Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, said the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk indicates the Left wants to silence their opponents, but urged Christians to follow Kirk’s example by remaining unafraid.

"I think what the assassin was wanting to do, no question, has backfired," Graham told The Christian Post in a phone interview. "And what the Left is wanting to do is to shut the mouths of anyone who's willing to speak out."

Graham expressed hope that Kirk, who was allegedly assassinated last week in Utah by a 22-year-old with leftist political views, will have an impact for Christ even in the wake of his death.

Congress passes resolutions condemning Charlie Kirk's murder, political violence

Members of Congress have voted to condemn the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk and political violence, in general, as mourners prepare for his memorial on Sunday.

Both chambers of Congress on Friday passed resolutions condemning Kirk’s politically motivated assassination last week. Kirk, 31, best known for founding the conservative advocacy organization Turning Point USA and TPUSA Faith, was killed by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson at Utah Valley University last Wednesday as he was headlining an event on campus.

While the resolution in the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate passed unanimously, a significant number of Democrats in the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives opposed the version passed in the lower chamber.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 391 in a unanimous vote. The resolution “condemns the assassination of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms,” offers condolences to Kirk’s wife and children, and “honors Charlie Kirk’s commitment to the constitutional principles of civil discussion and debate between all people of the United States, regardless of political affiliation.”

Jimmy Kimmel's suspension: Capitalism, not censorship

In the shadow of Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University — where 22-year-old Tyler Robinson allegedly gunned him down during a speaking event — America now grapples with grief, rage, and a dangerous erosion of free speech principles.

Just days later, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel ignited a firestorm with his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when he suggested, without irony or punchline, that Robinson was a MAGA supporter: “this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”

ABC swiftly suspended the show indefinitely amid advertiser pullouts and FCC scrutiny, sparking cries of First Amendment foul from the left. But this isn’t government censorship or Trumpian strong-arming — it’s the raw mechanics of capitalism at work. Broadcasters can’t “intentionally distort the news” under FCC guidelines, and when Kimmel blurred fact into fiction during a moment of national mourning, ABC faced a choice: correct course or risk its license.

Kimmel’s comments weren’t satire. No wink, no laugh track, no comedic cushion. Robinson, in fact, had turned sharply leftward — embracing pro-LGBT views and expressing hatred for Kirk’s ideology. Yet in front of millions, Kimmel told a knowing lie. Broadcasters aren’t private podcasters or comics on a Vegas stage; they are public trustees. What Kimmel delivered wasn’t comedy. It was a falsehood with consequences.

Texas A&M president steps down after defending LGBT course content in video

Texas A&M University has parted ways with President Mark A. Welsh III nearly a month after a video surfaced of a professor's classroom discussion on trans ideology regarding gender identity in violation of state law.

Chancellor Glenn Hegar and the Texas A&M University (TAMU) System Board of Regents made the announcementThursday, in which Heger thanked Gen. Welsh for his “service to the university and the nation.” Welsh, a retired four-star general with the U.S Air Force and former member of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, had served as Texas A&M’s president since 2023.

“President Welsh is a man of honor who has led Texas A&M with selfless dedication,” said Hegar. “We are grateful for his service and contributions. At the same time, we agree that now is the right moment to make a change and to position Texas A&M for continued excellence in the years ahead.”

Employees at major tech and financial companies on H-1B visas were told to stay in the US following President Donald Trump's surprise executive order that makes it far more expensive — and potentially impossible — for them to return if they travel abroad.

On Friday, Trump signed an executive order requiring companies to pay a $100,000 fee for each H-1B application or renewal. The order, which takes effect on September 21 at 12:01 a.m. ET, effectively bars H-1B workers from reentering the country after that deadline unless their sponsoring employer pays the fee.

The proclamation:

Judge strikes down Trump’s $15 billion suit against the New York Times

"A federal judge in Tampa struck down President Donald Trump’s $15 billion defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, saying that the 85-page complaint was “decidedly improper and impermissible” under the rules governing civil proceedings in federal court."

U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday wrote:

“In this action, a prominent American citizen (perhaps the most prominent American citizen) alleges defamation by a prominent American newspaper publisher (perhaps the most prominent American newspaper publisher) and by several other corporate and natural persons,” he wrote. “Alleging only two simple counts of defamation, the complaint consumes eighty-five pages. Count I appears on page eighty, and Count II appears on page eighty-three.”

...the first Count appears on page eighty?

The judge said every lawyer should know that a complaint is not a “public forum for vituperation and invective” nor a “megaphone for public relations or a podium for a passionate oration at a political rally or the functional equivalent of the Hyde Park Speakers’ Corner.”

Dear progressives, it's your turn to apologize

Disclaimer: I count myself blessed to know a great number of reasonable, kind, compassionate people on the political left, people who unequivocally condemned the assassination of Charlie Kirk and who are consistent in their standards. This article is not about them. It’s directed toward the others.

During my first marriage, after a violent fight when my narcissistic ex headbutted me and hurled misogynistic slurs, he sent me an “apology” email.

It began: “I’m sorry I let you make me so angry.”

What followed wasn’t repentance. It was a list of demands: lose weight, dress hotter, and meet his terms. I was the one bleeding and humiliated, and yet he positioned himself as the victim.

That was the moment I realized: no relationship can heal if one side refuses to confront its own sins.

That’s exactly how I feel about my relationship with progressives in this country right now.

I’ve spent the last week grasping for words to articulate the seismic shift so many of us have felt in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s execution. It’s not an exaggeration to say it feels as if the ground itself has shifted beneath us. I’ve been stunned by how deeply it has pierced me — especially since I didn’t even agree with him on every position or priority. But here’s the truth: agreement was never the point.

Charlie Kirk - Martyr or Political Activist?

The death of Charlie Kirk shocked Americans and also people further afield across the world. He was a devout Christian out there sharing his faith. He was killed for his view that transsexuality is mentally delusional and a symptom of very unbiblical notions of what gender is. So since he was opposed to a culture of lies and wearing the mantle of faith when he was shot, does this make him a martyr? The question has to be considered from a more global perspective than just an American one as there is much wrong with the American culture.

The case for him being a martyr is that much of what he said reflects the deepest Christian teaching:

1. Jesus Christ is His Lord and Savior
2. A woman is what God made her; killing one's babies contradicts motherhood.
3. It is wrong to assert one's sexuality over one's relationship with God
4. Transsexuality is a symptom of a culture of lies and delusions about gender and identity.
5. The seven mountain vision of bringing Christianity into the center of society was a good and healthy one.
6. He spoke about a restoration of masculinity in an age that would prefer to emasculate men
7. What he said about the triumph of excellence and merit over quotas to remedy inequality
8. His bible based support of Israel alongside his opposition to the anti-Christian agenda of cultural Marxism

More controversial viewpoints:
1. He put a religious filter on immigration, saying people of false religions should not be allowed into the country. But he inconsistently applied this to Hispanic catholics, even though married to a catholic.
2. His views on COVID were unscientific and false
3. His view on the Ukraine war lacked geopolitical awareness of its significance to US national interest.
4. His view on global warming (that it was mainly not manmade) was scientifically false.
5. He and his family made considerable amounts of money out of his activism which provides questions about his actual motives.
6. He repeated the Big Lie that Trump peddled about the stolen election:

OSAS - I was wrong...again

When I was first saved a few years ago, I reluctantly subscribed to the doctrine of OSAS. It's a nice thought. Once you put your faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross and resurrection, you're saved for all your sins past, present, and future. Done. But then I would listen to certain pastors, denominations, and even people's NDE's (experiences where people claim to have had direct revelation from God in dying). It shocked me to think that a "born again believer" could actually go to hell because they decided to abandon the faith, or they followed the wrong doctrines later in life, or they didn't show proper fruit and a proper repentance. I remember walking out of the Baptist church when I made my decision for Christ with conflicting thoughts recalling how the pastor informed me how one is saved; that all we need to do is believe and we will inherit eternal life quoting 1 John 5:13. He was right. But later I thought, Can it really be that simple? Emotions play on us, and we listen to the wrong "authority" or we read the wrong book, or watch the wrong video and we can find ourselves trying to please God through our bible reading or devotionals or good deeds, or even second guess our salvation altogether. Given the times we live the world is full of theological error and it's easy to get tripped up.

I found a really great resource I want to share: Andrew Farley has books and a YouTube channel. He has cleared up a lot of questions I had on many challenging verses which people often misinterpret. Andrew makes a great argument in one of his videos entitled, "What if fruit only grows in freedom?", how can we bear fruit if we're cheating on Jesus (grace) with Moses (the law).

*Edit: OSAS is true. Once we're sealed, we're sealed unto the time of redemption. Our names are written in the book of life. For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.*

Things are Heating Up

Things are heating up, you see.
Soon our nations won’t be free.
We will lose our liberty,
For to God not bow the knee.

Many claim their faith in Christ,
But to Him, they’re not His wife.
Sold to slavery to sin.
Do not let the Spirit in.

Think they know the will of God.
Think that Jesus gives the nod
For their sins to be forgiven,
Promised entry into heaven.

But the gospel they forsake.
Turn from sin, they will not take.
Obey God and His commands
They reject, His Words they ban.

Easy way now, they do go,
For the right way they don’t know.
Broad the way which leads to hell.
Many go there, sad to tell.

Narrow gate we enter in,
So our sins are now forgiven.
Narrow way, it leads to life.
Few that find it, be Christ’s wife.

Obey God and His commands.
Follow Jesus, know His plans.
Leave our sinful lives behind.
Love each other, be ye kind.

Fear not what is coming soon.
Scripture warns us, not immune.
Beastly ruler be in place.
Tribulation we will face.

Laying Aside the Old Self

“So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.” (Ephesians 4:17-19 NASB1995)

As those who are of genuine biblical faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, but which is gifted to us by God, we are no longer to walk in sin like we did prior to believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. We are no longer to have hard hearts which resist the voice of God, and which resist moral purity and obedience to his commands. And no longer should we give ourselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, if this is where we were before believing in Jesus Christ.

For faith in Jesus Christ, if it is biblical faith which is of God, and not of human flesh, will result in us denying self, dying with Christ to sin, and walking in obedience and surrender to the will of God for our lives, in the power of God, by God’s grace. For Jesus put our sins to death with him on that cross that we might now die to sin and walk (in conduct) in obedience to his commands, living holy lives which are pleasing to God, in his power. So sin must no longer be our practice, but we should live righteously.

“But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” (Ephesians 4:20-24 NASB1995)

The Scriptures do teach the truth of the gospel of Christ and of our salvation, but they must be read and interpreted in their correct biblical context, and not out of context. For many liars are teaching lies about the gospel by removing Scriptures from their correct context and by twisting them so that they do not say what Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught as the gospel of Christ and of our salvation. Yes, we must believe in Jesus, but belief needs to be biblically defined, not defined by human thinking.

The word “believe” or “faith” means to be persuaded, and in this case to be persuaded of God. And God persuades us as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin, and to be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. And faith is not of our own doing, but it is of God, it is gifted to us by God, and it is persuaded of God, so we do not get to define faith. God’s word does.

So, we need to know what the Scriptures teach regarding what faith in Jesus entails and regarding what is required of us who are professing faith in the Lord Jesus. For the truth in Christ Jesus which we should have been taught is that by faith in our Lord we forsake the old self ruled by the flesh, and no longer do we walk (in conduct, in practice) in sin, but now obedience to our Lord is what we practice, instead. But the Christian life and our salvation from sin is a lifelong process of changing and becoming more like Jesus.

So, no longer are we being led by our flesh and by the lusts of deceit, but by faith in Jesus we are being renewed in the spirit of our minds, and now, by the grace of God, and in his power, we are putting on the new self which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. The sins we used to practice we have put behind us so that we can now follow our Lord in walks of surrender to his will for our lives. And daily we must deny self, die to sin, and walk in obedience to God’s commands.

Laying Aside the Old Self
An Original Work / September 19, 2025
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

The Gospel According to Christ and His Apostles

Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

The grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for Jesus’ return. For Christ “gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (See Titus 2:11-14; Ephesians 2:8-10)

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

And we learn in 1 John 1-3 that if we claim that we have fellowship with God, but yet we walk in darkness (sin), we are liars. If we claim that we know God, but we do not obey his commandments, in practice, we are liars. For it is not the one who claims he is “in Christ” who is “in Christ,” but it is the one who has denied self, died with Christ to sin, and who is now walking in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in practice, and no longer in sin. We have the hope and the promise of eternal life with God in heaven.

Trump administration retreats on combating human trafficking and child exploitation

Experts say decades of progress are under threat; Trump officials say administration remains committed to fighting trafficking and sex abuse

Under Trump, key initiatives for fighting human trafficking have been cut back at the US Department of State, Department of Justice, Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Guardian found. Senior officials and other staffers have been forced out, workers shifted to other priorities and grants delayed or cancelled.

At DHS, Trump has ordered agents formerly dedicated to investigating and arresting human traffickers to focus on deporting immigrants. Current and former DHS staffers interviewed by the Guardian confirmed that these investigators’ day-to-day work has been broadly shifted toward deportations and away from investigating “major crimes” with “real victims”.

At the state department, the Trump administration slashed more than 70%of the workforce at the agency’s office to monitor and combat trafficking in persons (Tip office), which is responsible for leading anti-trafficking efforts across the US government. The department has also held up grants for nonprofit organizations fighting trafficking around the world, putting their operations and services at risk.

In addition, the administration has also delayed release of an annual report that documents human trafficking across the US and more than 185 other countries. Federal law requires that the report – which charts global trends in human trafficking and provides a country-by-country assessment of efforts to combat it – be provided to Congress no later than 30 June. Multiple sources told the Guardian that the report has been completed but had not been provided to Congress.
