Freaking out. Frequent deja vu.

Backstory, all the way back in grade 1 I had a big seizure. Was diagnosed with epilepsy and have been fine ever since. Over a decade later I have never had another seizure and have been declared seizure free. There also isn’t a family history of seizures at all. However last may I started to experience these intense episodes of Deja vu. They lasted about 4-10 seconds. And I started to freak out about temporal lobe epilepsy. Fast forward almost a year and I now can’t go an hour without getting one. I have seen two neurologists, both have said that they think I’m fine, I have had an eeg run, and it came back clean. And I ALSO talked to my family doctor who happens to also have a masters in neurology, so she knows a thing or two, and she ALSO said I’m probably fine. But I can’t help but panic. I have never experienced Deja vu before and now I’m suddenly experiencing it. I’m terrified, just waiting to drop into a seizure. Has anyone else experienced this from just anxiety??

A prayer for my life

Hi to everyone, my name is Jason and I'm from Minnesota USA and want to introduce myself here. I have fallen from grace of God and I may have ruined my life from an addiction that I have no one to blame but myself and hope and pray that it does not ruin my life, but if this is God's will for it to ruin my life then I accept it. I repent from my sins and really, really hope and pray that God can forgive me and save my life of my addiction. This has deeply affected me and hope i can come out of this with hope and my life. I am in deep sorrow and pain right now and need all the help I can get.

I have given my life to Christ many years ago but have not followed much since then and let my addiction get the best of me and I "really hope and pray" it does not ruin my life but it is not fully decided yet that it will but I will know within a week or so and I just really need all the prayers and support I can get as this will change my life either way but hopefully it will change it for the better and give me new hope and life.

Thank you all feel free to ask me any questions but I cant talk to much of my addiction , just looking mostly for support and prayers.

Thank you so much
Love and mercy
Jason

Killer fungal infection

Is anyone aware that a fungal infection is spreading in the USA? It is also resistant to medication.

"A deadly fungal infection called Candida auris, with a death rate of 60 percent, is spreading rapidly across the US. It comes as Washington confirmed its first cases last month."

Our news ain't so scary.

Why should we believe the Bible is the result of God speaking truthfully rather than advanced aliens tricking us for our own good?

The books that comprise the Bible were written from the late Bronze Age [...] the various characters can often be verified by extrabiblical historical writings [...] This means that God did not speak through myths but in real history.
-- Pacwa, M (2011). How to Listen When God is Speaking. Frederick, MD: The Word Among Us Press. p. 14.

Can't the Bible also be explained by advanced aliens tricking humans? Doesn't this hypothesis contain more explanatory power as it also accounts for God's absence, silence, and refusal to grant personal petitions? Why should we believe the Creator of our reality interacted with those people rather than deceitful ancient aliens?

On anxiety

orthodox only please
So I think I may have postpartum hormone issue or postpartum thyroid issue going on. I’ll be calling my doctor on Monday no worries.
however in the meantime, the anxiety caused by it makes me wonder some things.

so I have read about anxiety being the work of the evil one and read some Saints words on anxiety. I have also read this interesting article on depression (Depression. According to the Fathers. | A Russian Orthodox Church Website) which is one of the few articles I’ve found on anxiety caused by hormones.

I feel guilty, panicky and anxious. The brain fog and anxiety is not helping me figure out what is from the enemy or from myself. Intrusive thoughts and intrusive images dont help either.

For example, I worry about pride and false humility. Or not praying out of love but obligation. or doubt. or if my prayers are selfishly motivated. These things bother me.

I do have follow nightly routine of reading the saints and Bible readings for the day. I use the app OrthoPrax which has quotes, homilies and sermons I read as well.

I guess I’m wondering does anybody sometimes have these thought?

Presbyterian PCA church

I found a church online that is near my home that is Presbyterian PCA and wanted to know what the main difference would be between that group and other denominations like Baptist or Methodist? It looks like it is one of the more conservative parts of the Presbyterian church.
If I did go in person would I be allowed to take part in the Lord's Supper? Or is that only for members?

Shoes

Read Luke 10:1-4

... no sandles (shoes)...

When Jesus sent out the 72 he told them no sandles. They would have been barefoot.
I love that as I like barefoot walking. It is a very humbling thing to do, and really connects you with where you are.

* Why do you think Jesus instructs ministering Christians to go barefoot?
Do you?

I think you should!

Perfect Thunder

Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:48

If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. - James 3:2

"This is the glorious privilege of every Christian, yea, though he be but a babe in Christ. But it is only of grown Christians it can be affirmed, they are in such a sense perfect, as, Secondly, to be freed from evil thoughts and evil tempers. First, from evil or sinful thoughts. Indeed, whence should they spring? ‘Out of the heart of man,’ if at all, ‘proceed evil thoughts.’ If, therefore, the heart be no longer evil, then evil thoughts no longer proceed out of it: For ‘a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit.’
“Thus doth Jesus save his people from their sins, not only from outward sins, but from the sins of their hearts. ‘True,’ say some, ‘but not till death, not in this world.’ Nay, St. John says, ‘Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because, as he is, so are we in this world.’ The Apostle here, beyond all contradiction, speaks of himself and other living Christians, of whom he flatly affirms, that, not only at or after death, but ’ in this world,’ they are ‘as their Master.
’" John Wesley

I've been researching for 39 years, and will say with absolute confidence in the LORD, that the Christian doctrine of holiness, sanctification, and perfection is a real and solid Bible teaching. "Be ye holy, for I am holy." "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man can see the LORD." (Hebrews 12
Contemporary Christianity has adopted a bunch of phrases, cliches, and even whole teachings that are not in the Bible. "No one's perfect," is one. But the Bible doesn't teach that. It teaches we can be perfect, and wouldn't say such things if it wasn't attainable. By saying no one can be perfect is calling Jesus a liar, his half brother James a liar, the Apostle Paul a liar, and King David a liar. You are also calling the LORD, Yahweh Himself a liar, who declared Job to be perfect. But I understand, because this is how so many have been taught by modern day preachers. The Sacred Word of God is whittled down, watered down, and when such occurs, Christians live in weak states, suffering, and struggling, because the power hath been denied. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Job 1:1, "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil."
In Job the word "Tam" is used: it means perfect, complete, wholesome, morally innocent, having integrity, one who is morally and ethically pure.
Even after Satan afflicts Job the first time, after the LORD declares him perfect in Job 1:8, and the Word says "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." (Job 1:22). Then the Scripture says, "And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause." (Job 2:3)
Job 2:10, after the second affliction, and the confrontation with his wife, the Word says "In all this did not Job sin with his lips."
Now Job was a perfect man. Not only does the narrator say it, but the LORD Yahweh Himself says it! We've already seen from James if you can keep your lips, and offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

Psalm 101:1-4, "I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person."
Here 2 words are used for perfect, "tamim" - integrity, truth, without spot, complete, innocent, unimpaired. Where it says "a perfect heart" that word is "tom" which means integrity, completeness, fulness, moral innocence, perfection.
Now backing up to Matthew and James, the opening verses: in both the word "teleios" is used for "perfect." It means, wanting nothing necessary to completeness, perfect, consummate human integrity and virtue, complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.)

Philippians 3:12-16 - Here Paul himself admits he hasn't attained, but he presses toward the mark; then he says "as many as be perfect, be thus minded," in verse 15,
" Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."
Now it be true that sometimes the Greek means "mature" as well as the other attributes of the word, but as often it, as well as the Hebrew means perfect in actions, and in a moral sense, as previously seen.

Another popular phrase: "We all sin: we're all gonna sin. We sin every day." The Bible teaches rather, that all HAVE sinned, and none are without sin, for we are born in sin, and have sinned, and in the flesh we inherited a sin nature from Adam. But once we are born again, we put on the new man, we get a new nature, old has passed away, all has become new. that is, we are a new creature in Christ. You grow in Christ, and press forward toward that mark Paul talked about, to a life free from sin.
We see this principle in Romans 6:1-7,
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin."
So, if we are dead, and freed from sin, why do we want to resurrect that old man, as if we are helpless but to let him live, and become a zombie as it were, the living dead, believing Christ for life, yet walking in a dead mans corpse; ie, the old man.
For you see, if we believe we're all gonna sin, and that we sin every day, then we probably will, but then so much of 1 John would have to be torn from the Bible!

1 John 2:1 - the first part of the verse precedes the "and IF any man sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. But before he says that he writes "THESE THINGS, that YE SIN NOT. And, he writes , IF, not when you sin, but if, in case you do.
How about the next few verses? Keep His commandments, then you know Him. If you say you know Him and don't keep His commandments, you are a liar, and the truth is not in you. Period. No wiggle room to worm your way out, because to do so, you're looking for excuses to sin, and I fully understand; even empathise with you if you feel that way, because I was also deceived by the modern way of teaching the Bible, and I always fell flat on my face, sometimes literally, I was so intoxicated!

Even those who are sincere, who don't fall into sin themselves, but still adhere to an easy grace gospel full of compromise, it seems many who sit under their teaching are carnal, or indifferent, because a friendly, neatly packaged Gospel is presented, but the Thunder and the Fire are missing! We do not see many radical transformations. The Bible says the yoke is destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). But where is the anointing?

Jonathan Edwards wrote, "When God hath opened a very large treasure before us, for the supply of our wants, and we thank him that he hath given us so much; if at the same time we be willing to remain destitute of the greatest pare of it, because we are too lazy to gather it, this will not show the sincerity of our thankfulness. We are now under much greater advantages to acquire knowledge in divinity, than the people of God were of old, because since that time the canon of Scripture is much increased. But if we be negligent of our advantages, we may be never the better for them, and may remain with as little knowledge as they.
Consider the advantages you are under to grow in the knowledge of divinity. We are under far greater advantages to gain much of this knowledge now, than God's people under the Old Testament, both because the canon of Scripture is so much enlarged since that time, and also because evangelical truths are now so much more plainly revealed. So that common men are now in some respects under advantages to know more, than the greatest prophets were then. Thus that saying of Christ is in a sense applicable to us, Luke x. 23, 24. " Blessed are the eyes which see the things which ye see. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them." We are in some respects under far greater advantages for gaining knowledge, now in these latter ages of the church, than Christians were formerly; especially by reason of the art of printing, of which God hath given us the benefit, whereby Bibles and other books of divinity are exceedingly multiplied, and persons may now be furnished with helps for the obtaining of Christian knowledge, at a much easier and cheaper rate than they formerly could." - Christian Knowledge
How much more so today can we say this! Not only the printing press, but electronic media. We have access to every writing at our fingertips via the internet, yet society seems to be in a dire spiritual state: a condition the prophets warned about would overtake us in the last days; perilous times, and times of false doctrine and seducing spirit, doctrines of devils.

George Whitefield wrote, "As God can send a nation or people no greater blessing than to give them faithful, sincere, and upright ministers, so the greatest curse that God can possibly send upon a people in this world, is to give them over to blind, unregenerate, carnal, lukewarm, and unskilled guides. And yet, in all ages, we find that there have been many wolves in sheeps’ clothing, many that daubed with untempered mortar, that prophesied smoother things than God did allow. As it was formerly, so it is now; there are many that corrupt the Word of God and deal deceitfully with it."

Liberal, watered down theology of our modern era is what slowly chiseled away at me, till I fell into all type of sin. Seek ye then true holiness and sanctification teaching.

1 John 3:2-10, all of it is good; all is important. Let's look at this: "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

Well, people say, "That means habitual sin." But the Bible doesn't say that, it uses the words harmatian, harmatanei & harmatanon. 1 John 3:4 has harmatian - 3:6 harmatanei & harmatanon. These can mean continual or practice of sin, but this is often used to excuse "little sins" or allow for occasional sin. You still have 1 John 2:1, that says "these things write I unto you that ye sin not." That means don't sin period. You also have 3:10 at the end of all this about whosoever sins knoweth not God, and it says "Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God. "Righteousness" is "dikaiosunen" meaning judicial approval, divine approval, the approval of God") refers to what is deemed right by the Lord (after His examination), i.e. what is approved in His eyes.
So even if we stretch 1 John 3 to mean continuing in sin, practicing sin, living a life of sin, which we could based on the Greek, we still contend with 1 John 2:1 and 3:10. You still have to reconcile 1 John 2:4, keeping His commandments: " He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him," 2:6, "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." All His commandments summed up in love IS the keeping of the 10 commandments from the heart. 4:16-17, "he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." - His love is perfected in us.
How about 5:2, "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

Questions I'd Like Answered

I have a few questions. Theres roughly 2 1/2 billion people in the world, who all profess to be Christian. roughly a third of our planets current population. But Jesus the Master over the Christian faith. and the one who would obviously know the truth of things, being that Hes the Son of the Most High God over the Heavens. Said only a few were actually finding eternity. (He didn't say there wasnt hope for the world. But in this Satanic System, few are getting past the deception and securing their eternity.)

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

So do you think you are one of the people who has actually found life? Well your spirit will testify to you, if you have.

But do you truly understand the Christian faith?

If you do, can you answer some very basic questions for me? for starters...

What exactly is a sin? I mean, it seems like a pretty important thing to understand. Since Jesus said go and sin no more. It might be important to understand what it actually is, a sin is. Can anyone define what a sin actually is. (Saying a sin is something bad, or something God doesnt like, or any other ambiguous answer. Is basically a none answer)

Can any of you, tell me any of the things Jesus commanded?

"However, the 11 disciples went to Galʹi·lee to the mountain where Jesus had arranged for them to meet. When they saw him, they did obeisance, but some doubted. Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."
Matthew 28:16-20

I mean Jesus is the King right, and what a King commands, becomes the law. Jesus didn't issue suggestions. He didnt go around and say, I suggest you do this and I suggest you do that. He's the Great King, and he issued Commandments. And instructed all his followers to observe all the things he commanded. Can any of you tell me all the things He command He issued. I mean the word disciple, (means one who subjects themselves to the discipline) Becoming a disciple of Christ, is subjecting yourself to his authority and what He instructs and Commands. So do you know any of the things he commanded all his followers to obey and observe.

Ive found, not one church, that has anything Jesus commanded, posted anywhere.

If a person is a Christian, these question seem like 101? entry level.

What does it mean to be made in God's image and likeness? How is it not applicable to other species now? Why doesn't my dog refute Aquinas by acting?

Aquinas and most theologians after him [answered] that [to be made in God's image and likeness means] we humans can know things, reason, and make choices [unlike every other animal on Earth].
-- Pacwa, M (2011). How to Listen When God is Speaking. Frederick, MD: The Word Among Us Press. p. 16.

Other animals like DDR German Shepherds (and even other humans) exhibit intelligence suggesting rationality is a matter of degree not kind, that humans are the most advanced intelligence, not the only intelligence in the animal kingdom. For example, my dog knows he's going for a walk when I pick up the leash, can reason when he wants to return home when he's tired from the walk, and makes choices about whether to sit still for the leash to be connected to leave the house or when to turn towards the house and resist my pull of the leash when he's tired of walking (he will even stop walking in the neighborhood and turn around indicating he's ready to return home, completely unprompted, not trained behavior, and he remembers which roads to take to get there), or when to approach me with the toy or continue to maintain distance for keep-away play. How are these not plain demonstrations that Aquinas was wrong, that being able to reason and make choices is not limited to man?

Why must you believe God exists in order to hear Him? Doesn't that strongly imply this 'hearing God' is merely self-persuasion?

We can't listen to God unless we agree with some very basic beliefs about him. First, we must believe that God exists. Second, we must believe that God is knowable to human beings. And third, we must believe that God wants humans to know him.
Pacwa, M (2011). How to Listen When God is Speaking. Frederick, MD: The Word Among Us Press. p. 13.

I don't need to believe that any physical thing exists before I am able to hear it. How much more should God be able to make himself heard than something lacking omnipotence like a tree falling or an insect buzzing! This point is even demonstrated Biblically as, for example, Moses is attracted to the Burning Bush and then spoke with God. There is no indication from the text that Moses had to first believe in the god of Abraham to have his attention drawn or engage in conversation.

Please explain how Pacwa is being reasonable here, i.e. how this isn't evidence what's actually going on is self-persuasion, implicitly "assuming your conclusion" -- namely, "Tell yourself that ideas that come to mind that agree with the Bible are actually God speaking to you."

Running Cover For Biden’s Senility Is The Umpteenth Example Of How Media Interfere In Elections

Media excuses for Biden’s senility aren’t just political favoritism, but an example of controlling what information reaches voters.
In 2020, corporate media blacked out coverage of the bombshell Hunter Biden laptop right before the presidential election. After the election, a survey of Joe Biden voters in swing states found that nearly half were unaware of the pay-for-play scandal evidenced by the laptop and nearly 1 in 10 said they would have changed their vote if they had known about it. That’s an election-altering percentage of voters.

Here we are one presidential election cycle later, and 62 percent of voters say “Joe Biden not having the necessary mental and physical health” for another term is a major concern of theirs heading into November. A full 89 percent say it is at least a minor concern.

But again, media outlets are telling voters to disbelieve their own eyes about Biden’s unelectability.

Jesus perfectly complied with the Law of God - Perfectly fulfilled the Law of God

Rom 8:4 The Law of God "fulfilled IN US who do NOT walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. "

Ex 20:7 "do not take God's name in vain" -- perfectly complied with by Christ in the New Testament
Ex 20:12 "Honor your father and mother" -- perfectly complied with by Christ in the New Testament
Deut 6:5 "Love God with all your heart" -- perfectly complied with by Christ in the New Testament
Lev 19:18 "Love your neighbor as yourself" -- perfectly complied with by Christ in the New Testament

Yet it does not tell us that as Christians we should no longer
love God with all the heart
Love neighbors as ourselves

Honor our father and mother Eph 6:2'

Or that we should start taking God's name in vain

1 John 2:1 - "these things I write to you that you sin not"
1 John 3:4 - "sin IS transgression of the LAW"
Rev 14:12 "saints KEEP the Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus"

Lev 23 Passover predictive law -- -- prediction fulfilled by Christ in the New Testament
Lev 23 First fruits predictive law -- -- prediction fulfilled by Christ in the New Testament
Lev 23 Pentecost/"Feast of Weeks" Predictive law -- prediction fulfilled by Christ in the New Testament

No wonder the NEW Covenant is OLD Testament Jer 31:31-34 and writes the moral Law of God on the heart and mind

No wonder we find that for all eternity after the cross in the New Earth "from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all mankind come before Me to worship" Is 66:23

Addresses two key points --- irrefutably
1. is the weekly Sabbath abolished at the cross? Answer: no - it is kept for all eternity after the cross.
2. is the weekly Sabbath for all mankind or "just the Jews"? Answer - "for all mankind.

Christ is LORD of the Sabbath - Mark 2:28
The Sabbath was MADE for mankind -- Mark 2:27

Every Sabbath Paul was in the Synagogues preaching the gospel to BOTH gentiles and Jews - Acts 18:4
Gentiles ask for more gospel preaching to be scheduled for them "on the NEXT Sabbath" Acts 13 (request made by them AFTER the Jews leave the Synagogue)

If God is For Us

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,
“'For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.'
"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:31-39 ESV)

Please pay attention to the wording of this section of Scripture from the beginning where it begins with the phrase, “If God is for us…” for everything which follows is dependent on those five words being true. So, how do we know whether or not God is for us? We go back and we read the whole chapter of Romans 8, and we include Romans 6, as well. For the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in us who walk (in conduct, in practice) not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For in Romans 6 we read that those of us who are of true faith in Jesus Christ are all those who have been crucified and buried with Christ in death to sin and who have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. We, therefore, are to not let sin reign any longer in our mortal bodies to make us obey its passions (lusts), for if sin is what we obey, it will lead to death. But obedience leads to life eternal with God.

And those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, and to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. For if we live according to the flesh we will die, but if by the Spirit we are putting to death the deeds of the body, we will live. For it is all who are being led by the Spirit who are the sons of God.

For we are not saved from our sins so that we can go on living in sin guilt free. Those God foreknew he predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son (Jesus Christ). And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. And what is God’s purpose? It is that we die with him to sin, not just once, but daily, and that we walk in obedience to his commands, in practice, in holy living, in moral purity, honesty, faithfulness, and in surrender to God.

And there is a reason that Paul then said, “If God is for us,” because what he just said prior to this lets us know the ones God is for and the ones he is not for. It is only those who are walking (in conduct, in practice) according to the Spirit, and not according to the flesh, and those who are putting sin to death daily, by the Spirit, and who are now being led by the Spirit of God in how we are to walk (live, conduct our lives), who God is for. And to love God is to obey him. In fact faith in our Lord is obedience. Disobedience is unbelief.

[Matt 7:21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 6:35-58; Jn 15:1-11; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14,24; Rom 12:1-2; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; 1 Co 15:1-2; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; 2 Tim 1:8-9; Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 1:5; Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:5-17; 1 Pet 2:24; Tit 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Therefore, if God is for us, because we are for him, which is evident by our walks of obedience to him in holy living, in his power, which can only come about because of God’s grace to us, and because he persuades us to forsake our sins and to follow him in obedience, then he will provide for us all that we need. He will take care of those of us who are his own possession. Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of Christ if we are those who are walking according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh.

Now this is not teaching that bad things won’t happen to us. They will. If we are the Lord’s servants and witnesses, we will face persecution and rejection and we will be cast out of groups and gatherings because we obey the Lord and we no longer live according to the flesh, and because we take God and his word seriously and we believe what he says, and so we obey him, in his power and strength. But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us. Nothing will separate us from God’s love.

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Will Trump tap son in law to pay his debts after murder happy Saudis give Kushner $2 Billion in ‘investment’ money?

Trump may shrug this off as small change or he might ask his supporters to bail him out, or just use campaign contributions.

How do you think Trump will pay?

Ezekiel 37

Ezekiel 37 opens with a vision that Ezekiel was given about a valley of dry bones that are restored back to life.

The valley of dry bones vision is not talking about the resurrection of individuals, but restoring the two kingdoms back into one kingdom.

Verses 12-22 make it clear that valley of dry bones vision is metaphorically referring to the restoration of the two nations of the northern kingdom and of the southern kingdom back into being one nation again.

Ezekiel was told to go and prophesy about the vision to his people.....

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
15 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

So in verse 18, God tells Ezekiel when Ezekiel speaks to his people about the vision, verses 12-17, - they are going to ask - What does the vision mean ?

Then in verses 19-22, Ezekiel is told what to say to them about the meaning of the vision. That it is that the two kingdoms will be reunited into one nation again.

19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

That prophesy was fulfilled on May 14, 1948. Which also fulfilled Isaiah 66:7-8 about the nation being born in a single day.

Verse 23-25 is when the people of Israel are one nation again - they will turn to Jesus (not happened yet) and will be cleansed from their sins.

And when Jesus returns, He will be the one king over them, referred to as David my servant, in Ezekiel 37.

Question about resources to read works of Orthodox saints online

Hello, guys
I've been looking up internet to find some materials from Orthodox saints (specifically, commentaries on Psalms) but couldn't find much via search, so I'm here for some help and recommendations.

Long story short, I'm trying to find some online resource(s) where I could read works of Orthodox saints. Currently, I'm interested in commentaries on Psalms: works of Basil the Great, John Chrysostom, and Theophan the Recluse. But as a general rule I'd also prefer a more generalized source where I could find works of other saints and about different topics. Most of these writings should be centuries old, so I don't see a reason why they wouldn't exist in public access.

I've researched this a few weeks ago and checked some websites on the more popular websites (mostly some online Christian libraries). The ones I found didn't have all the texts I'm looking for or didn't have much from Orthodox sources at all.

Would appreciate if you could help. Thanks in advance.

As a sidenote, I've seen I could buy these as individual books on Amazon but that's a band-aid solution. It's not scalable at all.

Federal Judge's Ruling on Georgia's Dominion Voting Machines Sparks Election Integrity Debate

In a legal saga spanning six years, a federal judge in Atlanta is poised to deliver a crucial ruling on the vulnerability of Georgia's Dominion voting machines to hacking and whether their usage violates voters' constitutional rights. The outcome carries significant implications for the state's election procedures as the 2024 presidential campaign looms, injecting fresh uncertainty into the battleground state and fueling debates over election integrity. If this judge rules with the plaintiff and determines the Dominion voting machines violate Georgia’s Constitutional Law, this case with serve to have significant implications nationwide.

Plaintiffs contend that the Dominion system poses a significant burden on voters and presents easy opportunities for fraud. The controversy revolves around concerns about the security of the paperless system and the utilization of ballot-marking devices. In a courtroom demonstration, cybersecurity expert J. Alex Halderman executed a machine hack in under 5 minutes, overriding machine coding and swapping votes. This vividly illustrates the vulnerability of electronic voting systems, including Dominion, to virtually undetectable election tampering. Importantly, during this test, observers were only aware of tampering because it was disclosed to them. On election day, malicious actors, whether in person or remotely, could potentially hack into these voting systems and alter election outcomes without detection—an issue that demands immediate attention and resolution.

Illegal immigrants could sway elections, experts warn

Immigration experts have warned that the unprecedented number of illegal immigrants entering the United States could have a significant impact on the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives, as well as Electoral College votes.
After Biden’s inauguration in January of 2021, the president signed an executive order requiring the U.S. Census Bureau to determine the population of each state in the United States “without regard to whether its residents are in lawful immigration status.”
Experts have warned that both electoral votes for presidential elections and the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives could be impacted by the inclusion of illegal immigrants in the decennial census, which could diminish the power of the American voter.

“Illegal immigration has all kinds of effects and among them is that it distorts the mechanics of democratic government,” Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian told Fox News. “Illegal immigrants aren’t even supposed to be here, so their inclusion in the census count for purposes of apportionment really is outrageous.”

DHS admitted in emails it fails to track illegal immigrants released into US interior

The Biden Administration’s broader immigration strategy has come under scrutiny amid record border crossings and the impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas this week. Newly discovered emails may intensify that scrutiny.

In the emails obtained by the watchdog group Protect the Public’s Trust in a Freedom of Information Act request, one DHS official told a Washington Post reporter off the record he could not say how many immigrants are settling in Northern states via border state busing programs because the agency does not track those released from their custody.

“Are more people deciding to settle in DC/New York or, more recently, Chicago as a result of the program where they might have previously been inclined to remain in Texas or Arizona?” the reporter asked in a September 2022 email reviewed by Just the News.

“Off the record, that’s hard for us to say because they’re getting on those buses after they’re already out of our custody,” the official answered.

“That said, anecdotally including what I hear from other reporters, it does appear that word is spreading and they are looking for those buses for the free transportation. I’ve also heard many people are getting off along the way, so they’re using the buses for as long as it is convenient, but again, because they are out of our custody by then, it is hard for us to be able to answer that,” the official added.
