  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your tradition or Paul’s tradition?

I obey Paul's tradition in scripture. I don't follow man's church tradition however. If the church wants to follow Paul's tradition then they should be poor and be dressed in rags like the apostles were. See 1 Corinthians chapter 4

They should have a messenger of Satan torment them like Paul did. They should be out of their own minds for God somtimes as the apostles were.

They should carry death in their bodies as the apostles did. That's tradition.

Not tradition in some of the churches but all of the churches. Note the scripture below

1 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore I urge you, imitate me. 17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

Former Biden DOJ official leading Bragg case against Trump paid thousands by DNC for "political consulting"

Colangelo's role in the Trump prosecution has raised questions among some in the GOP about the alleged politicization of the case. His transition from a senior role at the Biden Justice Department to Bragg's team, and the subsequent charges brought against Trump, have been viewed with suspicion.

Not a surprise.

The City of Henok

In Genesis 4:17 there is one named Henok, the first by that name, and this first Henok then has a son who is also named Henok, and it comes to pass that this first Henok builds a city, and he names the city according to the name of his son who is also named Henok. It is important that the text specifically states that this first Henok is produced by Qain's wife, instead of simply saying that he was produced by Qain: this is a distinguishing characteristic and factor to be reckoned with in our understanding of the text, for it is highlighted by the fact that for the remainder of the genealogy the sons are all stated to have been produced through their fathers, not their mothers, while only this first Henok is said to be produced by his mother, instead of Qain. This appears to be why the reading appears somewhat difficult at the beginning of the statement which follows, (Gen 4:18a), and in studying this I noticed something strange: the next son is named Irad, but that name is the same word for a city, iyr, with the letter dal attached onto the end of it. Is this just a mere coincidence or is it significant? In light of what precedes this in the previous statement, regarding the first city ever mentioned in the scripture, it appears to be significant, at least imho. The following is my tentative reading.

בראשית 4:17-8 Hebrew Bible

B'reshiyt-Genesis 4:17-18
17 And Qain knew his wife, and she conceived and produced Ḥenok, and it came to pass that he [Ḥenok] built a city, [
עיר] and he called the name of the city according to the name of his son, Ḥenok:
18 And he to-for-of Ḥenok begat Irad [
עיר+ד, (city+d)] .......

It appears to me that it may be quite possible that one of these two named Henok produces Irad, (a city?), while the other ends up in the next passage as the son of Yared, which is very similar to Irad, (as are most of the other names in Genesis 4 similar to names in the next passage with only slight spelling changes, and Lamek isn't changed at all, and is almost surely the same Lamek). And if one is able see the genealogy of the next passage as those having been born from above, a spiritual seed line of those who came to believe, then it is truly possible that Henok of Breshiyt 5 was physically born some time before he was born from above and became a son of Adam.

I am already fully aware of the standard English translations and readings for the above text, and how they assume that Qain is the builder of the city, however, I say, they are "not following the pronouns", (as they say), so an argument in favor of that view would only be counterproductive to the whole purpose of this thread and the things I would like to explore herein.

The Fall of America: All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing

Of course if "good people" do nothing in the face of egregious evil

Are they really "good," ?

What if no one had ever stood with the Blacks against slavery? What if no one had ever bothered to pen the words

All men are created equal?

I am glad people in our history got involved.

It is wrong to say that Christians should not get involved in public life. Not getting involved has led us to this hideous moral decay we have

If you ever think that the judicial system usually gets things "right" check out the OJ Simpson case

I have read many book about the Simpson murder trial. True, that was years ago so maybe I am not going to remember a lot of what I read but I read the book written by Marcia Clark, prosecutor, and also the one by Darden, fellow prosecutor and then I read others I can't recall the authors of.

So yeh, I have read up on the evidence and .. long story short:

That dude did it in my pov.

I mean, I would just simply say He did it, but since he wasn't convicted, I probably shouldn't put it that way.

So yeh... you get a bunch of bad jurors (they were mostly Black. How did that happen?) and you're not going to get justice...

So, all you who think that the Steal is unreal... or maybe you think that Trump is obviously guilty though not convicted yet...

maybe you should consider that there is DEEP division, politically, in our world and that all judges cannot be trusted to do the right thing. All a judge has to do is show his prejudice against a defendant by ruling against him (his lawyers in the courtroom) more than he or she does the prosecution and

voila..... the jury gets the message and often acts accordingly. After all, the judge has clout; people respect judges...

I'm not sure I like the changes "pope" Benedict made to the Nicene Creed (I think it is)

I put quotes on the word Pope because I say that there hasn't been a valid one of those since 1958. I guess I am a Sedevacantist and yet I say that the Real Presence, a tangible Presence, is still there in at least SOME novus ordo Churches... so that makes me wonder about... well, I'm not sure how to word what all I wonder about but in any case, back to the... I think that prayer we say in the Mass is the Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth... (There's the Apostolic Creed.. I think it is called.. which is shorter)

So anyway, that Creed used to begin: "We believe..."

Ratzinger changed it to "I believe..."

I don't like that. I love the way Catholics are united by the fact that the Mass readings are all the same throughout the world. Therefore, it seems way better to say We believe... and I still do. I use this prayer when praying (beginning) the rosary, although most probably use the other one

So, maybe you could tell us what YOU like and dislike about changes to the Mass in modern times.

I absolutely HATE the priest not facing the altar (God) and instead facing the people throughout the Mass..

I don't like greeting ea other during Mass.. hate that

Division makes me sad

I see political division devouring people like a hungry wolf. It's full of gossip, slander, rebellion, judging, condemning, lust for power and prosperity, division, confusion, complaints, discontent, fear, worries, contention and it lords over others.

This is not from God's spirit. But it's ok when your side does it, for some reason

Hamas Accepts Deal Last-Minute with Israel Poised for Rafah Incursion

JERUSALEM, Israel – After months of negotiations, it appears Hamas might finally be willing to accept a hostage-release deal in exchange for a ceasefire. The announcement comes at the last minute as Israel was preparing to finally launch a Rafah incursion to wipe out the Hamas terrorist forces taking refuge there.

The announcement was announced as Israelis were marking Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The previous negotiations had only included a small number of the remaining hostages held by the terrorists in Gaza. There was no immediate comment from Israel on the deal, and details of the proposal have not yet been released. Hamas had been insisting on two key demands. One, the end of the war, and two, that Israel completely pulls out of the Gaza Strip. Both were non-starters for Israel.

Trump Cheered as He Arrives at F1 in Miami Amid New York Trial

Trump's criminal hush money trial in Manhattan resumes on Monday at 9:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, videos posted to X, formerly Twitter, show fans at the race's paddock cheering the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee as he waved and pumped his fist at the crowd in return. One video posted to X showed Florida law enforcement greeting Trump's motorcade as he arrived at Miami International Autodrome, a temporary grand prix circuit built around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Before the race, Trump was shown visiting the McLaren racing team's garage and chatting with the team's CEO Zak Brown. Later Sunday, McLaren's Lando Norris, whose garage Trump visited, collected his first-ever F1 win in the Miami Grand Prix.
Along with Brown, Trump was joined by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and CEO of Liberty Media Greg Maffei. This ensemble underscored the significance of his visit, which was more than just a casual walkthrough.

In response to widespread discussion and scrutiny, the British racing team released a detailed statement explaining their stance, as quoted by The Race. "McLaren is a non-political organisation however we recognise and respect the office of President of the United States so when the request was made to visit our garage on race day we accepted alongside the president of the FIA and the CEO's of Liberty Media and Formula 1. We were honoured that McLaren Racing was chosen as the representative of F1 which gave us the opportunity to showcase the world class engineering that we bring to motorsport," the statement read.

Ape Treating His Wound Using Medicinal Plant is a World First for a Wild Animal

Even though there is evidence of certain self-medication behaviors in animals, so far it has never been known that animals treat their wounds with healing plants. Now, biologists in Indonesia have observed this in a male Sumatran orangutan.

After sustaining a facial wound, he ate and repeatedly applied sap from a climbing plant with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties commonly used in traditional medicine. He also covered the entire wound with the green plant mesh.

The closest relatives to humans, the great apes, are known to ingest specific plants to treat parasite infection and to rub plant material on their skin to treat sore muscles.

God-ordained Genocide

Genocide:
noun
  1. the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.

But Sihon king of Heshbon was not willing for us to pass through his land, for Yahweh your God stiffened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, in order to give him over into your hand, as he is today. And Yahweh said to me, ‘See, I have begun to give Sihon and his land over to you. Begin to possess, so that you may fully possess his land.’ “Then Sihon with all his people came out to meet us in battle at Jahaz. But Yahweh our God gave him over to us, and we struck him down with his sons and all his people. So we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction the men, women, and little ones of every city. We left no survivor remaining.
— Deuteronomy 2:30-34

One objection I hear ad nauseum to the Reformed Theology view of election/predestination is that God wants to save everyone. So I get this quote quite often:

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
— 2 Peter 3:9

So how do my Arminian/synergism-leaning friends reconcile the multiple examples of God-ordained genocide in the OT with your view of God loving everyone and wanting them all saved?

Interstin/challenging book about the Bible

Have a look at this recent book on Amazon

Amazon.com

Two thousand years ago one resurrection resulted in the birth of a religion. In the last fifty years over two million people in the USA have clinically died, passed into the afterlife, met the divine, and were sent back to resume their life and mission. Doctors, pastors, psychologists, neurosurgeons and others have written their stories about being resurrected. Two million people who died in accidents, or on the operating table, many who were declared dead, and had death certificates issued, came back to life, many healed from the ravages of cancer, or the trauma of injury. None had brain damage, despite being without a heartbeat or brainwaves for extended periods of time, which medical science believed would have caused irreversible brain damage. Their stories are remarkably similar, meeting deceased relatives, Talking to Jesus. Having a life review, and experiencing an overwhelming love and acceptance, even to atheists and other religions than Christianity. This book explores where Christianity interprets the bible wrongly, and where the faith will have to reexamine its' precepts in the face of two million documented resurrections. Evidence that contrasts with Christianity's dogma on judgement, heaven and hell, salvation, and why we were sent to earth, and why death is nothing to fear.

Don't Call People Out, Call Them In

I was just curious if those who tend to be involved with Social Jusrice think these ideas are a good stepping stone toward social healing in this country. To me, it seems brilliant, and I think she's ahead of her time. I hope everyone has the chance to view this.

Starting crying to the Moody Blues - what's the matter with me these days?

In the car this morning, contemplating how wonderful it is to get my vision corrected after a cataract operation and thinking about our wonderful new bodies when Watching and Waiting came on my CD player as the next track in the mix. I starting weeping ...

"Soon you will see me, 'cause I'll be all around you
But where I come from I can't tell
But don't be alarmed by my fields and my forests
They're here for only you to share
'Cause here there's lots of room for doing
The things you've always been denied
So look and gather all you want to
There's no one here to stop you trying
Watching and waiting for someone to understand me
I hope it won't be very long"

don't even know if Justin Hayward is a Christian. But it seems in Christ we have even more than this held for us.
In the meantime, do good, share Christ, watch and wait

The government has a big case before the SCOTUS. Posters here probably recognize it as the "Twitter files" as it largely came out of piles of data Musk made available to independent journalists after his acquisition of Twitter.

Twitter had, by that time, effectively become an arm of propaganda and censorship for the left.

The video is short, as it only contains a few examples of censorship....

The first one is probably the most interesting though. It's just a text from Mark Z. to his associates asking if he should mention the pressure the WH placed on FB to censor the lab leak theory.

Thoughts?

Here is a video explaining a new way of looking at scripture. The guy that came up with it was a hip hop artist before.he became a Christian. He calls it photo theology. It grew out of his spontaneous way of looking at things, taking mental pictures and then having to come up with original ways of expressing himself.

He looks at scripture in 5 different ways. 1.The written scripture. 2. How Jesus fits into it. 3. How it affects us as people. 4.How it affects the church. 5. Heavenly

I have learned more about Bible study listening to a couple of His sermons than I have learned in the last 30 years.

Not only that, but we have evidence from nature. The USGS says the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption cooled the world 0.5 degrees for 2 years. We survived at least half a degree of cooling and dust in the stratosphere without catastrophic crop loss.

Also, it takes time to build the special super-wide wing jets to fly the dust up 20 km. Smith et al 2018 said that back then it would cost about $2.25 billion annually to build 6 super-wide wing jets a year. That’s only 0.02 degrees of cooling every 6 jets. If we adjust for inflation that’s probably $4 billion a year for an extra 6 planes. It takes 15 years just to get to 0.3 degrees of cooling - and that’s not even at Pinatubo levels yet! Given all that time and effort the moment there was even a hint of bad side effects the nations concerned would protest and we would be able to sort it out. It’s not like we can do this overnight! Biden calls Japan & India Xenophobic in same group as China & Russia

Great move Joe! Making "friends" with every self promotion. Appeal to one voter group by disparaging entire nations. An advise Joe, the sequence of order is think before you speak not the other way around. Also this is the age of social media. Everything you say will be recorded and uploaded somewhere onto the internet. Maybe just maybe don't say the soft part out loud. At least we know how he sees his allies - the same as he sees his enemies. Pawns for re-elections.

In a situation so nuance as macro economics, he can boil down every nations' problem to no immigration. Does he have any idea how things work? More people more productivity right? More consumers right? New people new ideas right? Absolutely moronic logic. India & China two of the biggest populations in the world are having economic issues because there is not enough immigration he reasoned. I fail to see how. Even if I don't major in Economics (I'm in IT) I know it is not as simple as adding people. You know because I have 22 years of working experience and lived through 2 economic crisis.

Economic condition of a nation is influenced by believe it or not national & international economic policies. Japan's economic problem came into being long before they have an aging population. It was due to the real estate bubble that was formed during their economic boom. Not to mention America putting higher tariffs on Japan for "competitive" reasons. The aftermath of this caused the economy to stagnant for 3 decades. GDP growth plateaued with average annual growth in the 0.5% - 2%. Wages remained the same and general deflation followed. Due to the economic stagnation people began to have less children. This compounded the issue further.

India's issue is mainly due to the size of the nation and how their political system works. India is very decentralized with each province governed by their own regional administration while the federal administration sets the general framework and foreign policies. India for most of its modern existence is a very poor country. Most people are uneducated and the elites only centralized in a few cities like Delhi. It wasn't until recently India started to built up its middle income group. Their economic standing is also vastly improving without the need of immigration. By improving their education and sending their children to Ivy leagues they are able to draw on a more diverse and young talent pool of ideas. India is poise to overtake Germany and Japan in the near future.

Then there is the hidden dark side of immigration people are afraid to talk about. Demographics and culture. Not every immigrant is an upstanding immigrant to put it gently. Just take a look at the American sanctuary cities. How is it going? Is the economy growing with the increased numbers of immigrant (illegal immigrants may I add) or is the cities hemorrhaging public funds to cater to them. How are they adjusting to the American culture? Let me answer that all in one word - negative. People across the world can see these problems, who would like these kind of immigrants in their nation? Japan and India have never been closed to immigration but they want controlled immigration (prerogative of the natives to decide). The best of the best from other places just like Singapore. Diversity is not always a strength. London, Paris and Malmo can attest to that. Everything has its pros and cons. If Tokyo and Delhi no longer resemble their native people, no longer practice their native culture and no longer talk the native language are they still a Japanese and an Indian cities?

America only likes to measure others by their own perception of acceptable standards. It is unthinkable to people like Joe that he doesn't have all the right answers. There are competing standards and ways of life others would like to live by. Just because they don't align with yours don't make them bad or phobic. So to people like Joe kindly stop smelling your own body fumes.

And can we please have Trump back, Americans? Pretty please with cherry on top? I know I'm not Donald's biggest fan but I'm just about to have enough of the current administration.

Ephesians 4:25 & Isaiah 8:11-15 - Avoiding Lies and Conspiracies

Hello folks. Ephesians and Isaiah are relevant in 2024, especially with the modern world.

Date
May 5, 2024
Verse
Ephesians 4:25 (ESV): "Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another."

Isaiah 8:11-15 (ESV): "For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: ‘Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.’"
Explanation
The passage from Ephesians 4:25 is encouraging Christians to speak the truth with one another. The context of this verse is a larger section of the letter to the Ephesians that emphasizes unity and love among believers. The verse specifically calls for putting away falsehood and speaking truthfully with neighbors, as members of one another in the body of Christ. This passage is directly related to people telling lies or spreading conspiracy theories because falsehood and conspiracy theories are contrary to truth.

The passage from Isaiah 8:11-15 does warn against fearing what the people are frightened by and being in constant fear. Instead, it encourages trust in the Lord and honoring Him as holy. The passage speaks of the Lord becoming a "stone of offense and a rock of stumbling" to the people of Israel, which could be interpreted as a warning against being led astray by false beliefs or conspiracy theories.
Societal Relevance
In the digital age, it is essential for Christians to be discerning and truthful in their use of social media and other forms of communication. Spreading lies or conspiracy theories such as saying that the January 6 attack was peaceful can harm individuals and the body of Christ as a whole. To avoid spreading lies or conspiracy theories, Christians should fact-check information before sharing it, consult reliable sources, and be open to correction when they are wrong.

For instance, the Apollo 11 moon landing has been verified with satellites orbiting the moon, such as the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter launched in 2009, showing the items left on the moon back forty years earlier back in July 1969. They should also be cautious about sources that consistently spread false information (extremist news sites from the far fringes of the political spectrum) and seek to discern the motives behind such information. COVID-19 has been proven by multiple countries and independent agencies to be real, masks slow down the spread between individuals, and vaccines reduce the probability of severe illness by ~60-80%. January 6, 2021 has been well documented with thousands of hours of video footage, unedited speech made earlier that day. A Washington DC officer named Jeffrey L. Smith shot himself nine days later due to PTSD from defending the Capitol.

Ultimately, Christians are called to be truthful, loving, and unified in their speech and actions, both online and offline.

Strange that today walking to town I spotted upon a rear window of a vehicle these words "Life is Better In the Woods"

Screenshot 2024-05-05 6.09.34 PM.png

Then tonight at service we watched "War Room" about fighting through prayer.
Find out what your enemy is doing and make a plan.
Take back that mountain, that 'suicide hill" for Jesus. Count the cost. I did. I saw an open door. I made a plan. God changed my plan.

Prayer strategy. Seek, Trust, and stand on His Word: Plead with God for what He can do, then get out of the way and let Him work and do it.

Fearful. I been fearful. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Rev 21:8
Fearful of Going back? Well God's ways are not my ways. Am I looking for an easy way? Everything right here where I am now at my fingertips with everything set up?
What was I afraid of? The old community? Afraid of demons, magic, spells, Lucifer?
"It's time for you to FIGHT!" the old lady prayer warrior on the movie said immediately as I wrote that!
Take back my house, it's Yeshua's house, it don't belong to Satan, and for far too long Satan has ruled that hill, and he's stolen, and killed and destroyed.

I'm not kidding when I say that. The neighborhood has had between 15 - 20 people population at any given time between 2004 and 2019. There have been 8 deaths: 3 murders, 3 suicides, 2 natural.

The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, therefore Satan cannot have that hill, and death must release its grip. Take back my house, for it does not belong to the devil no more: cleanse out all the blasphemy, cursing, sex, the alcohol, drugs, any spirits of insanity from the 5 insane girls who lived there, for every single one of those 5 had serious mental problems: bipolar, schizophrenic, severe anxiety, histrionic personality disorder, schizoaffective, delusional, Multiple personality disorder. Besides that, all those relationships were either fornication or adultery, and the one I was married to started off as adultery while she was still married.

Even though I've long since repented of this wicked evil, I know spirits can attach to things, and I know I'd have a lot of housecleaning to do, including photographs, books, occult items....as I wrote here,
I ask the authority of Jesus Christ and the power of His blood shed to cleanse the mess I made by accepting all this as Solomon with his strange wives, for adultery, and sin, and any evil spirits this brought about. Break down the pagan stones and destroy any occult books and objects, I shall do this upon return and burn them in Jesus name as they burned the 50,000 pieces of silver worth of curious arts paraphernalia in Acts!

Exodus 14:14 "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
Hannah gave me that verse in 2020.

Sunday, May 5th
Pastor was preaching this morning and quoted Romans 8:26, "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

He helpeth our infirmities, not helps us smooth the path and get rid of the infirmities. Don't be afraid of that mountain, don't be afraid of that HILL, don't be afraid of that valley. That's what he said. That HILL.
What was once used primarily for darkness should now be used for light, to bring light to that little community.
All that on the left of the road and below that open area is mine. And people who go there say they feel negative energy, heaviness, and dark. This needs to be done with. I cannot be fearful. It don't matter what was done there by me or anyone else. JESUS is stronger than all that and He resurrects the dead, and destroyed the devil who has power over death, and He sets free from bondage!
And I want a little chapel in the lower part across from where that curve in the road is, that's where I began a stone structure years ago....
