  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where is our mandate to insist that the secular world (i.e. government) legislate Christian morality?

I'm just trying to understand this so I can better explain my position to my protestant libertarian friend who thinks things like drug use, abortion, and sodomy are morally wrong but must legally be allowed for people to be truly free. He's a hardcore conservative yet I don't see that position to be much different than Biden's who says he personally opposes abortion but thinks it needs to be legal.

I don't know how to best explain what I understand as the Catholic position that we have a duty as long as we're on this earth to save souls and that means using temporal apparatuses to protect everyone, whether they're part of the Church or not, from the effects of these objectively evil things.

Is there a paragraph in the catechism that lays it out? An encyclical? Is there even a term for this position?

Why did Jesus not know who touched him in Luke 8:45?

The question assumes that Jesus did not know who touched him in Luke 8:45.

46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
People were crowding him and touching him. Yet, Jesus singled out a special touching instance of someone's faith. He raised the question so that the person would confess—confession is good for the soul—and focus the spotlight on her.

47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
Now everyone knows, and her act is a testimony for them and us. Being as gracious as ever, Jesus said to her,

48 “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
Why did Jesus not know who touched him in Luke 8:45?

There is no need to assume that Jesus did not know who touched him in Luke 8:45. A better question is this: Why did Jesus ask: Who touched me in Luke 8:45?

So that the woman would confess and her act would become a testimony for the world to see.

Vocation again later in life

The Lord, in my life is always there. And always me trying to figure why.
Let me explain. My life since a very young age had God in it. Not just because of an affiliate withe denomination.
But I know and felt the Lord presence more then once. Some times as soft and warm as sheep's wool.
As when I recall so very young I became deathly ill and had internal bleeding mind you this was in the early 1970's .
Doctors knew little still then and ER was two letters. Doctors didn't know how to treat me at 12.
My parent called the church elders, they came to me at my home. My parents had brought my mattress into the living room.
So I could be around them, in a comfortable. I was anointed oil and hands were placed. The best I can explain it to anyone was it felt
like being in my mothers womb. Peace I never had felt nor since then. I felt like I was lifted even though I was not moving.
The feeling was like no drug you could take, and no words can still explain clearly. I would be baptized shortly after that.
However, as much as this sounds pretty amazing to tell people. I know now that didn't know then.
I was a threat to satan. Such a young age that felt a presence that would heal me. To this day there is no scars. No evidence I was ever ill.
But as we know that would put me on his radar.
Within 4 years my parents would get divorced, we would lose our house. I would end up sleeping my car at 16 and my parents would not be near me.
My mom was at my uncles and he said it was too crowded for me to stay too. So was sleeping in my car 70 miles away alone. My dad split I would not see
him again until he was dying in 1991 when some how the doctors found me. I would live in my car for one year and for a 16-17 year old that was eternity.
No family would help. I was truly alone I thought. One night I was on mb CB in my car. A friend I would talk to told me about a job.
I grabbed it and eventually would rent a floor to sleep on for 50.00 a week including dinner. That was allot of money when wage was 3.25 hr.

I looked for God, don't laugh. But I thought I needed to go find him. So I went to every Christian base church I could find.
Even Buddhist and others. But never saw him.
The Lord healed me and left me I felt, and sinning came easy for me for quite sometime. I mean where did he go right?
I would get better jobs, meet my future wife. And get a college education studying law. Not a lawyer.
My wife would lose her Job in 1996 and I had got injured. So money got tight. So we moved to Oregon where I met my wives family and about 50 family members
now live near us.
So I went looking for God up here. Maybe he moved? I am then in my Mid 30, still sinning. I heard of these homeless people in town that went to a very small Christian church maybe hold 30 ppl . I went there with the Mrs. one day and happen to bump into God that day. I can't explain that other then I have been everywhere looking.
But there it felt like I was grabbed and everything in my life became about Jesus. I would start studying help run men's groups and eventually became ordained in 2005. I was working at a job one day, landscaping. Lighting a burn pile that accidently soaking in gasoline.
It blew up. The pile was 10ft high, maybe 10wide and 20long I could not smell the gas and as I lay my torch a sound that would leave me with permanent tinnitus ,
Burn off half my mustache, and eyebrow, and burn my right hand from fingers to elbow below the nerve layer. Pain like I had never felt then.
Half my face got scorched some and burns my clothes. I would see my skin just roll off. Paramedic arrived and gave me three types of pain meds.
But that Friday I was in a arm cast/wrap and was at our weekly church meeting. This was 5 days later. The group who was the pastor and elders were there.
Sounds familiar. And we all prayed. I felt really loved that night. I had to change the bandages a few times a day which was bad, as it hurt even worse as the nerves grew back. Two weeks after the accident of Saturday morning I woke up and my arm didn't hurt. I thought wow that nice. But they told me it would be months maybe a year. As God as my witness. My wife removed the bandage and there was my arm. brand new soft as a babies skin. Every patch that was burned was new skin.
Two week after it happened. To this day I lose my breath even thinking of this. My doctor could not tell me any reason that would happen medically. And well the
the people at church were as stunned and saw Grace like I did.

And well, I thought satan long gone. I would go one to become Councilor Assistant Supervisor at a impatient facility for drug addiction.
That was faith based. Sounded like life was pretty good.
But satan had other plans. I would catch the CEO and HR stealing from public funding. The state was informed and to my surprise the state told the company I had reported them. How did I know the theft was real? Because some of that paperwork came across my desk. I was threated with termination if I did not drop the issue.
I dropped it, just long enough to quit. I would not be able to find a job because I was no blackballed anytime someone called them. Prior to working there I owned my own business so for 10 years after or so that was the only employer I had.
My youngest son has autism, I would end up being home with him when he accidently cut and artery. He would have died in minutes had I not been there.
He was 18 at the time just out of high school.
I felt beat down and useless I stopped going to church, did a few weddings with my pastoral duties. But sin gripped me again.
Lost and alone I felt pretty far from God. This time I did not go looking for him.

I eventually started investing in 2020 with 500.00. I was home with our son now so give that a try. Since I knew law and business why not try.
8 months later I would somehow land a huge stock that paid all our bills off and be 100% debt free. Never knew what that felt like I always struggled just to get by.
But that hole was still there, money changed nothing. Still wandering looking for the Lord every day.

I was then driving to pick up my wife who works just two miles down the road. I come to end our street.
Its a nice bright clear sunny day. I am making a right turn. And there off to the left of the car in the street I am turning on is two what must have been
twelve foot tall 4foot wide figures. Black as the deepest black I had ever seen right in the road. A car drove right behind it and vanished until it passed.
The Lord two days came to me, not like in form. I kept hearing it is time. Its is time. Since then I feel closer then I can ever remember feeling.
I have then started trying to go forth and spread the word. A feeling I never had to say it in such a clear way.
When I heard the Lord, I can not tell you it was a voice, or a image. It was just there. Like it came from my sound inside.
This is who I am, and now I am 61 on a moving on a vocation I never knew would be.

Thank you Lord for all these lessons and so many more.

Prayer Devotional 8-8-2024 Jesus Christ

When you feel everything around you seems to be falling apart?

My interpetation:
1 Peter 1:3 KJV
'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, '

"The story of Jeremiah during the fall of Judah is a profound example of faithfulness and divine protection amidst overwhelming adversity." Jeremiah 20:11-16 KJV

Ways we can have God's hand over us and faithfulness is to have a clean heart and thoughts (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV) keep God's morals when living life. Believe God's word for bread of life and living water.(‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭KJV‬)

Morals- right from wrong , good from bad.

God has blessed me believing in God's word for bread of life and living water.
John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭KJV‬
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. '

Ways you can stand firm and not conflict for example in Jeremiah 37 KJV. Are Allowing us Christians our hands to see God, work and accomplish for us and succeed. -Mark‬ ‭10:43‭-‬44‬ ‭KJV‬. Genesis 39:3,6,23 KJV
Ways you can overcome conflict is by having faith , praying, reading God's word.-holy bible.

Mark‬ ‭10:43‭-‬44‬ ‭KJV‬
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: [44] and whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Genesis 39:3,6 KJV
"And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. 6And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.33 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

Recognizing God's hands at work.Jeremiah 38:20 KJV

Jeremiah 38:20 KJV
But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the Lord, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

In Reference to Jeremiah 38:20 KJV My interpetation: "it shall be well unto thee and thy soul shall live." Because you come from God-"1 John 4:4-7KJV. Your are God's son- 2 Corinthians 6:18 KJV.

Seeing myself born of God made into his image Genesis 1:27 living as God identification of male/man in this world but not of it has blessed with God and of him and his church to partake of the consolation which provides support and aid.

Support- To sustain, to act, represent well as to support, to support the part assigned.

Those who believed in Jesus Christ origin ( Christians) who had faith Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV and the church to both show the truth were the partakers of the consolation.
- Refrence example in 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 KJV

Genesis 1:27 KJV
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. '

I found prayer today that I like that goes with this publish and writings. What caught my attention was the uncommon favor, uncommon choices. I have faith in praying this prayer not just my past uncommon favor, choices to my benefit but my future to walk into as well.

With each new breath I take today I will give thanks for the words found in the Bible. As in the days of Jeremiah I thank You in advance for sending people my way like the Ethiopian Eunuch in today's reading. When others seek to throw me into a cistern and try to muddy my character and name, I thank You that through the clothing of kindness and humility You will provide a way out of the muddy pit for me. When the hands of influence shift around me because I live in integrity I will receive uncommon favor and uncommon choices regarding the desires of my heart even in the midst of my enemies. No matter what may come my way I am resting in the finished work God, I am at peace because I know that I am a child of God! In Jesus’ Name, Amen

My Missing Links Challenge

I submit missing links as strong evidence that macroevolution can take a hike.

Since macroevolution depends on the belief that any gaps in the fossil record should be assumed to have been filled in at one time in the past, it demonstrates a "substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

And that is the Biblical definition of "faith."

And since faith is not a part of the scientific equation, I submit that science -- by definition -- should rule out macroevolution.

What say you?

Realization of Personal Villainy

I wasn't sure where to put this, because it's a personal confession. But it springs from a science fiction television program, so I'll put it here.

One of my now-favorite science fiction programs is Star Wars: Andor. The program is a really remarkable showcase of sparkling dialog, a tight plot, epic high points...it's just a great show.

At one point, a character is about to be tortured by an Empire technician-scientist. The man is clearly a nerd type, kind of like a Nazi scientist who is totally involved with the technology and not making a connection with the inhuman horror his technology is a achieving. As he is preparing his torture machine to be used on the victim, he's practically giddy with delight in describing the details of how they came to develop such exquisite torture technology. He was killing people, and the technology was soooooooo cool to him. Boooo, you bad guy, you!

I watched that maybe twice before it brought back to my mind an evening during the DESERT STORM bombing phase of the Persian Gulf War. I had done "bomb scoring" during Vietnam and had always been disgusted by the inaccuracy of "dumb" bombs in that war. The statistic was that it took 24 strike attempts to successfully destroy one target, which meant that 23 bomb strikes hit something else. Something like 95% of the bombs dropped in the Vietnam war had destroyed something or someone unintended.

But we were using "smart" weapons on Iraq, and from the first night of bomb scoring, the results were spectacular. We were truly achieving "One target, one bomb" results. Our Tomahawk missiles were literally able to fly through the front door of a building, negotiate the building to a specific office, enter it and explode. Sooooooooo cool!

But we were having a problem penetrating the "Yugoslav" aircraft bunkers at the Iraqi airfields. Our penetration bombs were just exploding on the concrete surface, blowing out a shallow crater but not penetrating as intended. Bummer!

It took only two weeks before the technicians had developed a new penetrating smart bomb for the Yugoslav bunkers. I remember looking at the reconnaissance imagery that first night and noting the neat "pinholes" on the surface of the bunkers (instead of a crater), showing that it had nicely penetrated the shell. Then in front of the bunker, the blast doors lay on the concrete like burnt potato chips, the evidence that the bomb had penetrated and exploded inside, killing anyone inside. I called over other people to take a look. Soooooooo cool!

If you were watching CNN during that time, you probably saw some of the "bomb camera" footage from the attack aircraft. In that footage, you could see the weapons officer's crosshairs on the target for the seconds that he guided the bomb into it, then the explosion of the target being destroyed.

Well, in one case, I had located a camouflaged bunker at an airfield, probably where the aircrews lived. It would not have been discovered if I hadn't been exceptionally good at my job. I reported it and flagged it as a target.

The next night, I got a chance to see the bomb camera footage of that very bunker being struck. This time, as we watched the crosshairs on the bunker while the bomb was gliding toward it, suddenly the figure of a man dashed from the side and dived into the bunker...a split second before the bomb struck it and destroyed it.

That was a new sensation for me, and it was unpleasant. It's certainly not what combat troops go through. I had an uncle who during the Korean War actually had to strangle an enemy soldier to death with his bare hands....no, this was certainly not like that.

But after watching that scene in Andor, it brought back to me the feeling I had with the first evidence of success of the new bunker-busting bombs. It was the same kind of giddiness over a weapon that the Imperial torturer displayed. I had been that guy.

Walz who said, "Mind your own business" set up snitch line during COVID

At the campaign event at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, Walz said this:

In Minnesota, we respect our neighbors and their personal choices that they make. Even if we wouldn’t make the same choice for ourselves, there’s a golden rule: Mind your own damn business.
This statement would seem at odds with Walz's implementation of a COVID hotline, in which citizens were encouraged to "snitch" on their neighbors for not obeying COVID restrictions.

In wake of the governor's stay-at-home order, which still allows people to leave their homes for fresh air and runs to stores for essential needs, a hotline has been established that allows anyone to report groups of people that aren't following social distancing measures.
The hotline number is 651-793-3746. People can also submit reports via email to sahviolations@state.mn.us.
One has to wonder if Walz is in favor of "minding your own ... business" or tattling on people who don't do what the government tells them to do.

Ukraine invades Russia...wait, what?

Ukraine justifies Kursk attack in first acknowledgment of incursion into Russia

Ukraine has publicly justified its attack into Russian territory for the first time, amid reports that its forces are advancing towards a village 13 miles (20km) inside the Kursk region on the third day of its incursion.

Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to the president’s office, said “the root cause of any escalation”, including into Kursk, was “unequivocal aggression” on the part of Russia in believing it could invade Ukraine with impunity.

The statement is the first acknowledgment by any leading Ukrainian official of the ongoing offensive amid silence from the country’s military on events in the Russian region. “War is war, with its own rules, where the aggressor inevitably reaps corresponding outcomes,” Podolyak added.

Meanwhile, the best bit....

Agenda 47

Trump disavows knowledge of Project 2025...
But Agenda 47, the Republican platform on his website, is cut from the same cloth as Project 2025.
There will be a Democratic platform after the convention.
Study both.
Campaign speeches are sometimes very short on details.
Agenda 47, what Trump/Vance are running on, has me running in the opposite direction.

Discerning God's Will

I need to make a decision - whether to pursue studies full time, or to stay at home and be there for my husband and young adult kids if they need me.
I'm of an age that I feel that this is almost my last chance. If I don't go back to college this year, I think I will have probably left it too late.
I always feel when it comes to these big life decisions that God seems especially silent.

And then the end will come

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, ' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:3-14 NIV )

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I die every day--I mean that, brothers--just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:12-34 NIV )

So, when will the end come?

Most pastors lack extensive secular work experience, survey finds

Most Protestant clergy in the United States worked for 10 years or fewer in non-ministry occupations before becoming pastors, according to a recent survey from Lifeway Research.

In a report published Tuesday, Lifeway unveiled the results of a survey of 1,004 Protestant pastors conducted Aug. 29 – Sept. 20, 2023. The study had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.2% at the 95% confidence level.

According to the data, 58% of respondents said they spent 10 years or fewer working in a “non-ministry job” before becoming pastors, including 34% who said they spent five years or fewer and 13% who spent less than a year.

Whose commandments do Christians have to obey to enter heaven?

In Matthew, Mark and Luke when Jesus referred to the commandments, He always referred to them as just the commandments or the commandment(s) of God. He never referred to them as my commandments.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." NKJV

The first mention of a commandment in the gospel of John was when He gave His disciples a new commandment. This is a commandment that was not in the OT law or OT commandments.

John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever NKJV

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." NKJV

The next two times He mentions commandments He calls them His commandments. If we keep His commandments, we love Him, and the Father will love us. We know one of His commandments, which is the new commandment that He gave to His disciples.

In John 14:31 He mentioned the Father gave Him commandment. He was referring to the Father's commandment that He should die for the sins of the world. This is prophecies in the OT and any prophecy about His first coming was considered a commandment from the Father. 1Peter 1: 10-11 We know the Spirit of Jesus gave the OT prophets their word of prophecy, but the Father must have given them to Jesus.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. 11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. NKJV

In verse 15 He mentions My commandments again and He distinguished them from His Father's commandments. The Fathers commandments that He kept was the OT commandments, law and all prophecy concerning His first coming. The Fathers commandments are the law, the 10 commandments. Unless a prophecy pertains to us it would not be a commandment to us. In verse 12 He mentions the new other new commandment that He gave them, as one of His commandments.

What are Jesus' commandments?

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. NKJV

In 1John he writes His commandments but does not state what they are. Whoever keeps His word the love of God is perfected in him. To keep His word the person is in the Spirit, through the Spirit, putting to death the sins of the flesh.

1 John 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. NKJV

In verse 23 John tells us just what His commandments are. His commandments are: 1- believe in the name of God's Son, Jesus Christ. 2- love the brethren as Jesus loved us.

In verse 22 If we keep his commandments, the two above, and we do things pleasing in His sight, which means we walk in the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit means we obey the commands that He gives us to follow.

Example: If a new unmarried Christian was involved in an affair with a married woman. God has forgiven his sins and granted him repentance to life. The young man is not conducting himself as a son of God. Jesus will tell him just what he has to do to keep in the Spirit. Jesus will command the man to not commit adultery, or He will discipline him. Before discipline started the man could refuse discipline. In that case the man lost salvation. He would not be granted forgiveness or repentance again.

If the man accepted discipline, God would make him sick. Then, as in Thyatira, He will put him through sickness, tribulation then death. Galatians 5: 18 the man was put under the law if he did not walk in the Spirit. Romans 8: 1- 4 the law of sin and death is fully met only when we walk in the Spirit. If we do not walk in the Spirit, we are under the law of sin and death. If the man accepted discipline and did not repent, he would die [physically and go to heaven. If he repented Jesus would keep giving him commands to keep him in the Spirit. These commands will match the commandments in the law.

Hebrews 12: 6 God loves those He disciplines. If the person submitted himself to getting sick knowing that it would end in death and He did not repent, he had passed the point of eternal life. If he did not repent, he would have, through the Spirit, put to death the sins of the flesh. Gods loves him because He disciplined the person. He scourged him, put him through tribulation and put him to death. The man would go to heaven. Read 1 Corinthians 5: 1- 11 the example I gave matched him except he did repent. However, in verses 6-8 Paul said the flesh would die and the soul would be saved if he did not repent.

1 John 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. NKJV

The new commandment He gave in the gospel. If we love Him, we must love the brethren.

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. NKJV

His commandments. One- Believe in Him, the Son of God, who died for forgiveness of sin and and was resurrected for your justification. Two- Love the brethren as Jesus loved us.

To recap. When we come in God forgives our sins and grants us repentance to the point of life. At the point of life we have done no works. Some people at the point of eternal life choose not to be disciplined, they lose salvation and will eventually die and go to the other place. Some chose to take discipline and not repent to walk in the Spirit. Because God forgave their sins and granted repentance to them they only obeyed Jesus' two commandments. They died and went to heaven.

The wise Christians choose to be discipline, repented, and followed the commandments of Jesus to walk in the Spirit until they died or were persecuted to death. So, a living Christian is obeying Jesus' commandments and God's commandments, doing works, to walk in the Spirit till they die. The reason everyone in heaven, redeemed by Jesus, got into heaven is because they obeyed Jesus' commandments.

Can I get another witness?

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. NKJV

What's the context of the above. John 7:31-32, Revelation 2:13 Satan threatening Christians living on earth after he was kicked out of heaven. They are obeying the commands of Jesus, commandments of God, to stay in the Spirit and live. They are obeying His two commandments and doing things pleasing to His sight.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. NKJV

The context of the above is Christians living during the tribulation. They are obeying the commandments of Jesus to stay in the Spirit and live. They are obeying His two commandments. by his faith in Jesus, and doing things pleasing to His sight, obeying His commands to walk in the Spirit, doing works.

Revelation 22:12 "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
NKJV

What's the context of the above? Christians who have died and now live eternally in heaven. They had to obey the commandments of God to walk in the Spirit in order to keep physical life and earn rewards. Whose commandments did they obey to get into heaven? Everyone redeemed Christ had to obey His commandments, no other commandments, Jesus' two commandments, to enter heaven.

Loved by God every one of them.

Soldiers who served with Tim Walz accuse the Candidate of stolen Valor

Veteran who served in Tim Walz's battalion addresses stolen valor accusations: 'Far darker than people think'

Ret. Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Behrends, who said he was a member of Walz's battalion, scolded the Minnesota governor for misleading the American public about his military career.
Asked about Trump running mate Sen. JD Vance's accusation that Walz is guilty of "stolen valor," the National Guard veteran told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that it's "far darker than a lot of people think."
"He's used the rank that he never achieved in order to advance his political career," he said. "I mean, he still says he's a retired command sergeant major to this day, and he's not. He uses the rank of others to make it look like he's a better person than he is."
"I mean, if he thinks Italy was a combat zone or a war zone and he was carrying that in war, he's delusional," he added.
Behrends said Walz had been promoted to command sergeant major in 2004, but claimed he was required to serve two additional years or the promotion would be void.

Did Jude quote from the Book of Enoch?

1 Enoch 1::

9 And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgment upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.
Jude 1:

14 It was also about these that Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
Did Jude quote from the Book of Enoch?

I think so. Jude's quotation bore a strong resemblance to 1 Enoch 1:9. Further, he attributed it to the name "Enoch", the 7th from Adam:

  1. Adam
  2. Seth
  3. Enosh
  4. Kenan
  5. Mahalalel
  6. Jared
  7. Enoch.
Even so, the Book of Enoch should not be part of the canon. Yet, I do not reject all its contents outright. I weigh each piece on a case-by-case basis. 1 Enoch 1:9 is okay.

Need some guidance as in what category should I post into?
