  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

First time hunter...

Planning on starting out on small game seeing how I have a WMR rifle, newly acquired permit and will buy a license soon, plenty of jacks in the yard, and a drawer full of old knives. even though the season only starts next month, planning for the colder weather to cut back on the warbles. I decided to get permit test online and passed in the wee hours of my BD on the 16th; So now I just need to get out there. Clothing will be the next items on list. What are some suggestions on what else would be nice to take with me into the woods around my house?

Nothing is set in stone yet; however, I may keep posting progress on here...

Hello! Excited to Be Here and Would Love Your Thoughts

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the community and wanted to introduce myself by sharing an idea that's been on my heart. I'm working on a service that offers personalized, instant guidance rooted in Christian teachings. The idea is to help Christians navigate daily decisions with answers that reflect the values and teachings of Jesus.

I’d love to hear your thoughts:

  • Do you think a service like this could be helpful in your daily life?
  • What kind of questions or situations do you think would benefit most from this kind of guidance?
  • How do you see this fitting into your faith journey?
I'm here to learn and grow, so any feedback or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to being part of this community!

With the anti-jewish protests on college campuses largely out of the news...I had somewhat convinced myself they were over.

Jewish students at UCLA had to sue the school to ensure access to their classes. Apparently, pro-terrorist supporters had decided to harass and block them from walking to class. A judge ruled that UCLA has to ensure that the students aren't being discriminated against or prevented from attending class. UCLA decided to appeal the decision....

Some thoughts...

1. If I were a Jewish student at UCLA, I'd demand my money back and sue for discrimination. Apparently UCLA is not only accepting of this behavior...they're appealing the court order that insists they make it stop.

2. I know that multiple businesses will blacklist the protesters. Facial recognition is pretty impressive these days.

3. I recall saying that I was against violence in a protest....allllllll the way back on "punch a nazi" day in 2016 I think. I didn't get a lot of agreement then...and I won't be surprised if less exists now.

4. If I were a parent to one of these protesters I'd be ashamed. Clearly I had screwed up at some point in raising my child. I'd remind them of that, before mentioning I wouldn't be helping them financially anymore. They are on their own should they find themselves in trouble.

5. I understand the DNC protests...that's the people currently sending funds to Israel and Palestine. I don't understand why these protesters are on campuses apart from some desire to drive out Jewish students. Disgusting.

Thoughts?

Who Are You Voting For?

I know that you may be asking yourself why it took Kamala so long to put together some economic policies?

If you're smart...you may even wonder who was running the show while Biden was in office.

Let's take a look at Harris' economic advisors....

Blackrock executive.

Blackrock executive.

If your unfamiliar with Blackrock....imagine the richest person you've ever heard of....then imagine a bunch of guys that make that person look poor pooling their money together to buy some of everything. They own the dirt beneath your feet and the air you breathe.

So if Kamala’s economic plan doesn't quite make sense but still appeals to you....that's by design. Once you vote her in you need not worry....you'll see 4 more years of high prices, low wages, and inflation. You'll get poorer....they'll get richer.

It's not a coincidence that they replaced a vegetable (Biden) with a plant (Harris). They want someone with nothing going on upstairs....because they're easy to control.

That's the game folks. That's how it's played. At least they've dropped the saving Democracy rhetoric. Voting for Harris is just a vote for a failed state and declining economy.

Pittsburgh area Diners are furious over staged Harris campaign stop at a local restaurant

I wonder if this piece of news will help Kamala Harris with the undecided voters?

Silencing Jordan Peterson... Canada takes action.

This is a wake up call...

Is "The Message" a good translation

I used to be KJV-Only because I was Free Grace and most of them are; and I still do hold to the fact that the KJV is the most accurate translation from what I've seen. So what I'll do is have the KJV on the left side of my screen and a easier translation on the right (whenever i read the Bible on my PC) I've found that the "The Message" translation helps my pea brain understand so much, I just wanna know if that translation is good in the eyes of other believers

A Conservative Legal Scholar, and a Republican, Chooses to Vote for Kamala.

Regardless of Trump's language of being for "law and order", he has
mocked the justice system in America, and threatened judges and their families.

This conservative legal scholar, who is a Republican, has decided that it is
time to vote AGAINST Trump, even if that means voting for a Democratic
presidential ticket. He argues that voting for any presidential candidate that
will uphold the democratic intitutions in the country (including the Department
of Justice), is better than voting for Donald Trump.

It is an amazing situation, that there will be conservative Republicans,
speaking at the Democratic National Convention, who are advocating
voting for Kamal Harris and AGAINST Donald Trump in the coming
presidential election, BECAUSE Donald Trump is a threat to the American
institutions of democracy!

Saving the American democratic insitutions, IS MORE IMPORTANT than
voting for a presidential candidate that holds to the agenda that conservatives
in America are looking for.

Sleep problems

I'm not sure where this question should go. It's not really a prayer but more of advice.

So I have struggled with falling asleep. It's always taken a long time to fall asleep. I usually go to bed to try get 7 hours of sleep. It's currently nearly 1 am and can't sleepand I have to be up at 6am. I have tried things like Unisom but it doesn't really help. I always end up feeling like I have a sleeping pill hang over the next day.

Now I'm sure alot of people would get less sleep one night and then have an easy time falling asleep the next night. Not me. It doesn't matter how much or how little I get. I'm always in bed laying awake. I tend to get frustrated alot also. I have to go many days before I'm tired enough to fall asleep even relatively soon.

When I finally do fall asleep I don't stay asleep. I have lots of waking up. Now I did get tested for sleep apnea. The said my apneas were minor. I forget the term they used for me waking up without suffocating. This they said I would need medicine for which is more sleeping pills.

Another problem I have is waking up in the morning and driving to work and trying not to fall asleep at the wheel. I have to go to work and can't really afford to call in every chance I don't sleep well. I'm single and don't have any roommates or really really) have many friends to drive me. It's also to a different city.

I guess this turned into a bit of prayer request because after going day after day sleep deprived I tend to wonder why in the world God would make me deal with this. Unfortunately it's also not really in me to just read the Bible during these times. I just can't focus on much anything other than just getting through things. I don't really think God will be upset for trying to sleep.

If I could have some prayer and advice I would appreciate it.

Do Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians worship the same God?

The one true God is the creator of all things, visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16).

Do not make an image representing the true God to bow down to it (Exodus 20:4-5).

2 Chronicles 35:

20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple,
Josiah was a good king of Judah. He repaired the temple.

Neco king of Egypt went up to fight at Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Josiah went out to meet him.
Neco was a gentile. By God, he tried to dissuade Josiah from fighting him.

21 But he sent envoys to him, saying, “What have we to do with each other, king of Judah? I am not coming against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war. And God has commanded me to hurry. Cease opposing God, who is with me,
i.e., elohim

lest he destroy you.” 22 Nevertheless, Josiah did not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but came to fight in the plain of Megiddo.
A good king of Judah fought against a gentile king. God was with the gentile king. Josiah died as a result.

I am not even sure that Neco knew the name YWHW. Yet, it seems that the true God was with him.

Later, in Isaiah 45:

1 “This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him
The Lord (the true God) called Cyrus his anointed.

4 For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.
Even though Cyrus did not acknowledge the true God.

In the NT, Acts 17:

22 So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.
but they did not know the LORD personally

23 For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
god is a multifaceted concept.

26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 that they should seek God,
the one true God

and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us.
The Lord God accepted worship from Athenians who didn't know Him exactly. But then, who knows Him exactly?

Acts 17:

30 Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all people everywhere to repent.
God is gracious to everyone who repents, even if they don't know Him perfectly. See What about people of other cultures?.

Do Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians worship the same God? Do Christians worship the same God?

Most Christians seem to worship the same God, the creator God, with no idols/images. Buddhists and Christians worship different gods because of their heavy use of idols. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam worship more or less the same God: creator God and no idols. I spent four years working in Saudi Arabia. The longer I stayed there, the more I felt that they were worshiping the God of Abraham. I had joined their worship in their mosques. 1 Tim 2:

4 [God] wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.
They misunderstand Christ. Notably, only Christians can be born of the Paraclete.

#TheJesusMoon - Investigating on whether this is a sign of a #TurningPoint

Today's date 19/08/2024 (Australian Date Order) has an 888 pattern and is the day of a full moon.
19 - 8th prime number
08 - 8th number
2024 - digits add to the number 8

Hence the date has an 888 pattern and 888 represents Jesus in Greek language. Today is also the day/night of the largest full moon of the year. I am investigating on whether this full moon could be considered as #TheJesusMoon that represents a turning point in the church in the world.

Want to work for Kamala Harris’ campaign? Job applicants have 9 pronoun choices

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign is offering an array of pronoun options for job applicants on its website. The move has sparked various responses across social media platforms, with some users critiquing the focus on pronouns rather than policy substance.

Applicants to the Harris campaign can choose from traditional pronouns such as "he/him" and "she/her." But they can also choose or from a selection of other choices including "they/them," "xe/xem," "ze/hir," "ey/em" and "hir/hir," according to job postings on her campaign website.

The list also includes "hu/hu," a gender-neutral preference to be identified by one's humanity rather than gender. According to Emory University, "hu" is closest to two other genderless, singular pronouns "you" and "who."

Democrats Release Party Platform in Chicago: Calls for Reelecting Joe Biden

The Democratic Party released its official platform on Sunday night, to be voted on at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois — and it calls for reelecting President Joe Biden, who was still the candidate at the time the document was finalized in mid-July.

“President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are running to finish the job,” it says.

Will China’s economic struggles lead to war?

While a number of stories, both at home and abroad, have taken their turn leading headlines, one of the more important and potentially troubling trends in recent months has been the continued downturn of China’s economy. I call it troubling less for what it means for the world economically—which is where much of the attention has focused—than for what it could mean for the world politically and militarily.

You see, China’s designs on becoming the world’s leading superpower, taking back Taiwan, and seeing their global influence spread while the West’s declines have not changed. To this point, however, those plans had the benefit of patience. Given the level of control President Xi exerts over the nation, they have had the freedom to choose their spots and wait for the best opportunities to act. Yet, as their economy continues to slide and the day-to-day lives of their people become increasingly difficult, that margin will begin to fade.

And, ultimately, a China that has to act could end up being a far greater threat than a China that believes time is on its side.

To that end, let’s examine why their economy has struggled and what those struggles could mean for China and the larger world.

Joe Rogan Drops Eye-Opening Flashback Footage of Trump on 'The View'

It’s troubling to consider all the things that the Democrats and media have done since 2011 in their narrative against Donald Trump. Not just because it’s wrong and hurtful to him, but because it has been so divisive and damaging to the country. All the lies and the hoaxes, from Russia collusion on down.

They're continuing to lie even now. Joe Biden lied about his reason for running being the “fine people” hoax about Charlottesville, and he's kept up that lie. Now Kamala Harris has continued that disinformation, as well as other deceits like the bleach and "bloodbath" lies, without regard to the truth. That's how desperate they are at this point to do anything they can to try to get Trump.

With all that kind of attitude going on in 2024, it’s hard to remember back to a time when the cult attack narrative wasn’t going full blast. So it was quite something this week to see Joe Rogan playing a flashback to Trump's appearance on "The View" when he was considering running for president back in 2011. Now the ladies of "The View" are such virulent anti-Trump harpies, but it’s fascinating to see them before the dictate of the cult, when they still had Barbara Walters and still made actual news and not just propaganda for the Democratic Party. How they greet Trump is pretty stunning, as Rogan notes, "It's bonkers!"

Listen as Walters introduces "my friend, Donald Trump!" to the cheers of the audience.

Should Christians Vote in Political Elections?

The Scriptures do not address this topic specifically, that I am aware of, but they do give us some guidelines to go by which I believe are related to whether or not we should choose to vote in public political elections. But every one of us has to make that decision for ourselves after we have prayed about it and have sought the Lord and examined the Scriptures to see whether or not God would be honored by us choosing to vote.

The first thing that comes to mind comes from the Old Testament where the people were crying out for a king. In 1 Samuel 8:6-9 ESV we read:

“But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us.’ And Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you. Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.’”

From that I get the message that we are not to desire human kings to rule over us as though we need a human king (president, government official), and that God is not enough. And all throughout the Scriptures we are warned against putting our trust and our confidence in other humans, and against turning to other humans or nations to save us from what ails us rather than us trusting in God alone to save us and our nations and the people in our nations from what ails them, which is sin, in reality.

We are not to put our “trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.” “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” “They set up kings without my consent; they choose princes without my approval.” “Where is your king, that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said, ‘Give me a king and princes’?” Our faith is not to rest “on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.” And we are warned against being taken captive by the trickery of men, by craftiness and deceit.

See: [Psalms 118:9; Psalms 146:3; Psalms 147:10-11; Isaiah 40:23; Jeremiah 17:5-6; Hosea 8:4; Hosea 13:10; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5; 1 Corinthians 7:23; Ephesians 4:14-16; 2 Peter 3:17-18]

And here we have Jesus’ words in response to Pilate when he asked Jesus, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (John 18:36 ESV) And we are to live our lives in Christ Jesus as though we are part of his kingdom doing his kingdom work believing him to rescue us from the evils of our societies.

And the work that we are to be doing and that we are to be fighting for, in defense of, is in the spreading of the gospel of our salvation to the people of this world, for only through more and more people believing in Jesus and walking in obedience to his commands will the evils of our societies begin to diminish. For only Jesus Christ can deliver us human beings from our sinful addictions and hate and violence and wickedness and all sorts of evils which plague the world that we live in. Only Jesus Christ can save our nations.

So, what should we be fighting for? For the truth of the gospel. And what message should we be spreading to the people of the world, especially on the internet? The truth of the gospel. For we are called of God to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth in preserving and in sharing the truth of the gospel of Christ. And we are all to be those who are proclaiming the excellencies of God who called us out of spiritual darkness (sin) into the light of his truth and righteousness to holy living in obedience to him.

[Matt 5:13-16; Matt 28:18-20; Jn 4:31-38; Jn 13:13-17; Jn 14:12; Acts 1:8; Acts 26:18; Rom 10:14-15; Eph 5:11-14; 1 Pet 2:9,21; 1 John 2:6; Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 10:27-30; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14]

“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.” (2 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV)

I see so many Christians posting all sorts of political stuff on social media where they are for one political candidate and against another, and so they promote the candidate they like while they will sometimes then put down the other candidate, based upon whatever information they are being fed by their respective political parties and via the news media. But I don’t see many of them promoting Jesus Christ as the only solution to what ails us as a people in this world, and not many are sharing the gospel message.

And I believe that is really where things begin to go the wrong direction, when we are looking to human beings to be our “saviors” from what ails us, and when we are busy promoting men (or women) to come to our rescue, but when we are lacking in doing the work that God has called us to do in being his ministers and in taking the full message of the gospel to the people of the world so that they can be delivered from their sins and now live godly and holy lives in walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands.

So the problem really comes into being when we get our priorities all out of order and when we are looking to humans to save us from what ails us as the people of this world instead of us looking to the Lord to be our KING and our only SAVIOR.

My Sheep

An Original Work / June 24, 2012
Based off John 10:1-30 NIV

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

How to overcome internet/social media addiction?

I’ve noticed lately that the more I’m on the internet, the worse my mental health gets. I’ve tried to stop my screen addiction a few times but always end up getting back on instagram or YouTube shorts often without even thinking about it out of boredom. Is there a good way for me to stop being so addicted to social media? Should I just go cold turkey or replace it with something else? Or is there any other strategy I can use to stop getting so hooked on it?

The Last Supper, the Pale Rider, and a false diety at the Olympics - and beyond.

Note: For the original OP, please see Alex's response. Re-doing the OP here with what I hope will be the entire vid as intended.

Nothing more to say other than to encourage us all to pray for the enemies of God, as the real foe is the spiritual forces inspiring them! God bless!
