  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Australian National Party splits from the Coalition with the Liberal Party

The Coalition has been in place for over 80 years. Labour had won the recent election is a landslide against the Coalition. Now that has split so that we have the National Party and the Liberal party sitting separately within government. It's a huge step backwards for Australian conservative politics. The Nationals generally represent rural areas. To compare it to the US, it would be like 20% of Republicans who represent rural constituents splitting from the GOP.

Out of Our Bondage

Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“As I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,”
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.” 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before,
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. (Hebrews 4:1-11 NASB1995)

The rest being spoken of here is not a single day once a week designated as a day of rest from one’s physical labors, as it was under the Old Covenant that God had with his people Israel. For, under the New Covenant that God has with his people Israel (now Jew and Gentile by faith in Jesus Christ), the rest being spoken of here, as it was for the Israelites of old who wandered in the wilderness, is a spiritual rest, an eternal rest where sin, sickness, decay, and wars will all cease and we will now be with our Lord for eternity.

But this eternal rest is not promised to all who just give lip service to God. It is for all who obey the Lord while they still live on the earth. For faith = obedience, and disobedience = unbelief. For biblical faith in Jesus Christ is persuasion of God as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin and to now walk with him in obedience to his commands in holy living. So, by this God-gifted and God-persuaded faith, we die to sin and we now obey our Lord, in practice.

So, do not follow after the lies which are being so popularized in many “Christian churches” here in America, so many of whom have turned their gatherings into market places, forbidden by God, and are partnering with the ungodly via incorporating under the state, which is also forbidden by God. And so they are becoming more like the world to attract the world to their gatherings, and so they have also diluted the gospel to make it less offensive and more appealing to the ungodly, in order to grow their numbers.

[Matthew 21:12-13; John 2:13-17; Acts 5:27-32; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 2-3; Revelation 13:5-8; Revelation 18:1-5]

Get your truth directly from the Scriptures, and put your faith in God, in Jesus Christ, and not in other humans, no matter who. But make certain you are reading the Scriptures in their proper context absent the filter of the world and the ungodly who are twisting the Scriptures to their advantage by teaching them out of context. For Jesus Christ, Paul, and the other New Testament apostles taught obedience to God and death to sin, in practice, as requirements of God for salvation from sin and eternal life with God.

And that is the message here in Hebrews 4:1-13, and in Hebrews 3:1-19, and in 1 Corinthians 10:1-22, all of which speak the same message.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 2:6-8; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10]

Jesus, I Come

Hymn lyrics by William T. Sleeper, 1887
Music by George C. Stebbins, 1887

Out of my bondage, sorrow and night,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into Thy freedom, gladness, and light,
Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of my sickness, into Thy health,
Out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of earth’s sorrows, into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storms and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair, into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the joy and light of Thy home,
Jesus, I come to Thee;
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the peace of Thy sheltering fold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Called unto "Holiness" (Leviticus 21:1-24:23) Parasha "Emor"

PARASHAH: “Emor” (say.)

First of all. I want to thank God for 6 weeks of family time and fellowship with other believers in Miami, Florida and in Orlando. I went fishing and diving with my son David. Well, he's the fisherman and I am the swimmer and diver. He always seems to get the mangrove snappers under the bridge in the Florida Keys.

I got to fellowship with Beth Hesed Messianic Congregation in Miami and with Shema Israel Yeshiva, where I graduated. In Orlando, I spent the weekend with "Shalom International Ministries "Casa de Israel."

Miami is too expensive, but a wonderful place to live if you can afford the prices. Well, it is back to my PC and sending out these studies in God's Word.

Brought back with me a lot of cheese! Even the airport drug dogs can sniff the cheese. Returned to El Salvador May 16th, in the evening.

LEVITICUS 21:1-24:23

In this parashah study, we see more details on the sanctity, Holiness, and comportment of priests. When we read in chapter 21, we read that YHVH is very particular and pays much attention to the physical. We might think that God only looks upon the heart, but thousands of years ago, physical appearance was important, some with any imperfection; like a broken foot, blind in one eye, hunchback, dwarf…It doesn’t say that they could not serve in the Tabernacle or later on, the temple, but they couldn’t offer sacrifices.

We must remember that the priest was a kind of mediator between the people and YHVH, Today, YESHUA the Messiah is our mediator, between us and the Father, and Yeshua was/IS without sin, perfect in all ways, both inside and outside. We may not know what he looked like physically, but we can know that he didn’t have any physical deformities, being God in the flesh.

We read about the priest; “offering the food to Adonai” and many regulations in reference to “food”. It is talking about the animal offerings that were offered on the altar, yet the Hebrew word for “food” in this case is “Lechem” (bread). The priest had to be in perfect physical condition because he represented a perfect G-d. To be any less than “perfect” would have probably been a distraction.

All believers are considered to be "priests" even though it is not the "priestly bloodline" of Aaron, we are "spiritual" priests, serving in our earthly "tabernacles" (bodies), serving and ministering before our "High Priest" (Yeshua/Jesus) God looks for Holiness in our service, being set apart from the sinful world. Our LORD looks at us inwardly, and not toward our physical bodies. , as many people are born with physical defects. Adonai looks at the heart and into our spirit being. Before, the priests would offer up the “lechem” (food, bread) to Adonai, 2000 years ago, the “Bread of Life” was offered up for US!

Today, what could be the “bread” that we could “offer to Adonai?” One could say that we offer up our service and spiritual gifts to HIM, through exercising the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit, by teaching others, preaching the Word, evangelizing, giving to others, etc…we are in a way, giving back “bread” to HaShem. He has given to us, and we give back to HIM through serving others and being faithful “priests” on earth.

We can take note of Leviticus 22:31 and apply this to our lives as “Yeshua’s priests.” Therefore, you shall keep my commandments and perform them: I AM the LORD. You shall not profane my Holy Name, but I will be sanctified among “the Children of Israel (B’nei Yisrael)” I AM Adonai who sanctified you.”

Of course, we can not keep ALL of the commandments set down in ancient times, yet many still apply to today’s life. We should learn them and take heed to them, and teach others HIS Torah! In doing this, we ARE hallowing HIS Holy Name.

We also see regulations on marriage, touching dead things, etc.…the priest was in a class of his own. The priest was “God’s man” his “representative” on earth, so, as the priests had a higher calling, their expectations were much higher than the regular “Joe Israelite” There is a repeated phrase: “You shall not profane my Holy Name, I am YHVH (Yod Hey Vav Hey)

“ when we act contrary to His commandments, and expectations as “B’nei Elohim” (children of God) we ARE profaning HIS Holy name, be it in words, or deeds. If the Israelites were observed by God through a looking glass, then the priests were observed by God through a microscope! If you get my drift! How are WE seen by our HOLY, SINLESS, GOD? Our standards are based on the Torah of Adonai. HIS standards should be OURS as well, yet we always come up lacking, because of our inborn sin nature.

Thank Adonai for YESHUA, who bridged the gap caused by sin, to be our “high priest” before a Holy God, although our sin in dark and ugly, and we should see ourselves as such, because it is reality, through YESHUA, Our Heavenly Father sees us as “white as snow” or “white a wool” and now, under the new covenant, we are all “high priests” in his eyes, should not our expectations be as a “higher calling” just like the priests of old?

We must also take into thought the phrase “Kiddush HaShem” which is “honoring/blessing/Holiness to the Name of Adonai” There are two Hebrew words that are almost the same; “Halel” and “Chilul” “Bless/praise” and “profane” in Hebrew, they are just three letters. The difference is the first letter; the “Hey” and the Chet” The difference between the two is just a line which is about one millimeter.

What can we say? There is just a fine line between “blessing” the name of God, or “profaning” the name of God. We must be careful of our words, and deeds, least we “bless” with one breath, and then take another breath and “profane”. The idea of the “priests being holy, for I AM Holy” is there in this parashah. The difference in the words, “Kadosh” (Holy) and “Kadoshim” (holy ones) is that when YHVH talks about HIS Holiness, the word “Kadosh” has the “vav”, the letter “o” that letter symbolizes the “nail” whereas our “holiness” lacks the “vav” since we did NOT receive the “nails” only YESHUA did, who received them in our place!

We can see a case of “profaning the Name of God” in Leviticus 24:11 when the son of a “mixed marriage” (An Israelite woman married to an Egyptian man) had a fight in the camp and cursed, or profaned, blasphemed the Name of Adonai. He was put to death by stoning. We see the name of the woman though, it was “Shelomith” daughter of “Dibri” The name “Shelomith” can be considered the feminine version of “Shalom’ (peace) and the name “Dibri” can be considered “My Word” from the word “Debar” Almost the same as “Dibrei” (words of) Together, “My words of Peace” yet just the opposite was seen, the son was fighting and profaned the Name of Adonai, so far away from “peace” Could the Egyptian father have had some negative influence on the son? Whenever there is a mixed marriage, a believer with an unbeliever, there is bound to be strife and lack of peace, since the couple are like “pulling against each other on a rope” and sooner or later, the rope is going to break.

Chap 23: “HaMoedim of YHVH” (The feasts of the LORD). Here the special days of worship and assembly are mentioned, the first being the “Sabbath Day” it is a “day of Rest” a time of worship and coming together to worship Adonai and learn from HIS Word through His teachers, pastors, rabbis, evangelists, etc. The Sabbath day was NEVER changed to Sunday. Not that it was bad to come together on Sundays, any day of the week is a good time to come together. It just became customary for the believers in the first century to come together on the “first day of the week” like it is mentioned in Acts, to fellowship and eat together, but the believers ALWAYS considered Saturday, the Sabbath, the special and the official appointed day for rest, worship, and Bible study. For me, the sabbath and Sunday are both special days to worship God and study his word with other believers.

The Passover and days of unleavened bread, symbolize Messiah Yeshua in our lives as the “Lamb of God” who took away the sin of the world, and who is also, the “Bread of Life”, who was “roasted in the fires of judgment for our sins, whose blood was shed for our sins, once and forever. The “matzah” bread without leaven symbolizes Yeshua as the Bread of Life, without sin (leaven). And his blood is symbolized by the wine.

The Feast of First Fruits and Shavuot; counting 50 days from the time of Passover, to celebrate the blessing of a good and fruitful harvest of grains, (wheat and barley, the main crops). On Shavuot or “Pentecost” two leavened loaves of bread were made, each weighing about 5 pounds, and were “waved” by the priest before the LORD in a special ceremony. These loaves symbolize the blessings of YHVH, they could also represent Israel and the Nations, “2” is the number of “unity” and “division” we are all “united” to YHVH by Messiah Yeshua and have been “divided” or “separated” from the lost world of sin, YET, we still have our sin nature, noted by the leaven in the loaves of bread. It was also on “Shavuot” that the Torah was given on Mt. Sinai

The Feast of Trumpets, “Yom Teruah” symbolizes the start of the “days of Awe” when we reflect on our own relationship with Adonai. How do we measure up to God’s standards? Lacking? Fall short? I would say YES. 10 days later, comes “Yom Kippur” the day of “covering” or “Atonement” which was when the high priest came into the Holy of Holies, once a year, to commune with Adonai. This day points to Calvary, when Yeshua’s blood “atoned” for our sins, past, present, and future. It is a day of fasting, repentance, and soul searching. It is a day when we are accustomed to dress in white.

Feast of Tabernacles, or “Sukkot” is a joyous festival, when the “harvest” is in, kind of like “Thanksgiving” in the US of A. The time when God came to earth in human form as Yeshua, born in Beit Lechem, being raised learning carpentry and Torah, a teacher of Torah, healer of diseases, a raiser of the dead, and a sacrifice for our sins. This festivity was for 7 days, “7” the perfect number, and a special “8th” day “Hoshanah Raba” when the customary reading of the Torah starts over again from Genesis. It also symbolizes when the Israelites lived in tents, “temporary dwellings” as our bodies are “temporary dwellings” for our souls and for the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.

Chapter 24: The Menorah, the lamps were lit from dusk to morning, and the menorah was made of gold, which symbolizes perfection. The flame/light symbolizes Yeshua who is the “Light of the World” and the “all-consuming fire” and also, all believers are the “lights of the world” reflecting the SON light! “Table of Shewbread” which was in the Holy place across from the Menorah. Has 12 loaves of unleavened bread, representing the 12 tribes of Israel, again, Yeshua the “Bread of Life” Hey, maybe that was where the idea of the “bagel” came from, bread with a hole in middle, who knows! Maybe! This bread was for Aaron and his sons.

May you trust in the "Bread of Life" our "High Priest" as your LORD and Savior. Yeshua/Jesus paid it all on the Cross of Calvary. Let's not profane His Name, neither by word nor deed, May His holiness show in our lives.

Church pastor touched my stomach and declared my chronic diverticulitis "healed"!

That was Sunday. Today (Monday) I had another attack.

This was my first visit to this church and I went up on stage because I thought that the pastor and others were simply going to pray for me. They did, which I appreciated, but was taken aback when he announced I was healed.

I'm unlikely to return. What denominations teach this stuff?

Are scientist wrong about how gravity works?

"A theoretical proposal published in the journal Reports on Progress in Physics is making some bold claims about our previous understanding of quantum physics. Mainly, that we were wrong.

The proposed theory grapples with the fact that quantum mechanics (basically modern physics) and general relativity (Einstein's theory of gravity) both describe the universe perfectly, but are mathematically incompatible with each other.

To make them work, the proposal suggests scrapping almost everything we think we know about gravity, as Live Science explains. Instead, the authors touch up the theory to match known and observable physics, something they call unified gravity."

New theory could finally make 'quantum gravity' a reality — and prove Einstein wrong

To All Who Obey Christ

“Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.” (Hebrews 5:8-9 NASB1995)

This is speaking of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He was with God in the beginning, he is God, and he is our creator God who left his throne in heaven, humbled himself, and took on human form by allowing himself to be born as a baby to a human mother, but conceived of the Holy Spirit. So when he lived on this earth he was both fully God and fully human (God incarnate), who was not born with a sin nature, and who never sinned once.

And while he lived on the earth, during his years of ministry, he healed the sick and afflicted, raised the dead, delivered people from demons, fed the hungry, comforted the sorrowful, and preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins and obedience to God as required for eternal life with God. Most of the Jews did not believe in him, and their leaders in the temple largely were strongly opposed to Jesus and to his ministry, and so they persecuted him, and eventually they had him put to death on a cross.

[Isaiah 53:1-12; Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 17:25; John 1:1-36; John 6:35-58; John 8:24,58; John 10:27-33; John 20:28-29; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 9:5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 2:9; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8-9; Hebrews 2:14-15; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Peter 1:1]

But Jesus Christ did not remain dead. On the third day God the Father resurrected him from the dead. And for about 40 days he appeared to many people in his resurrected body, and then he ascended back to heaven in his glorified body, no longer living in a human body subject to weaknesses and injury and death, but now rendered completely perfect. And so he who was obedient to death on a cross, in taking our sins upon himself when he died, he became to all those who OBEY him the source of eternal salvation.

For in Jesus’ death, he put our sins to death with him so that, by faith in him, we will now die with him to sin and be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. For by God-gifted and God-persuaded faith in the Lord Jesus we are now to walk (in conduct) no longer according to the flesh but according to the Spirit, and no longer in sin, but now in walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commandments (New Covenant).

And Jesus taught that if our faith in him is of God, and so we are following him in walks of obedience to his commands, we will be persecuted as he was persecuted. And who were Jesus’ persecutors? They were rulers and people of influence in the temple of God and in the synagogues, and those who were teachers of the Scriptures and who claimed God as their Lord. But many of them were putting on a show of righteousness on the outside while inside they were full of wickedness and engaged in secretive sins.

So, we should not be surprised if some of our greatest persecution comes not from people who make no professions of faith in Jesus Christ but from many who do give lip service to God and who claim faith in Jesus Christ but who are living worldly lives. And some of them may be pastors and elders of church congregations who are teaching an altered gospel message and who are marketing their “churches” to the people of the world, and so they have also recreated “church” to make it more appealing to the ungodly.

And so many of them are not teaching that, to all those who OBEY HIM, Jesus Christ became the source of eternal salvation. But they are teaching that Jesus Christ became to all who profess faith in him the source of eternal salvation, with obedience either taught against or taught more as something we should do, but that if we don’t do, will not impact our eternal salvation. And so if we are teaching what Jesus taught, that obedience to God is essential to our salvation, then we will be opposed and persecuted by some.

[Matthew 5:10-12; Matthew 7:13-14; Matthew 10:16-39; Matthew 24:9-14; Luke 6:22-23; Luke 21:12-17; John 15:18-21; John 17:14; Romans 5:3-5; Philippians 3:7-11; 1 Peter 1:6-7; 1 Peter 4:12-17; 2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5; James 1:2-4; 2 Corinthians 1:3-11; Hebrews 12:3-12; 1 John 3:13; Revelation 6:9-11; Revelation 7:9-17; Revelation 11:1-3; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 13:1-18; Revelation 14:1-13]

Blessed are you when you’re persecuted
Because of your faith in Jesus Christ.
Blessed are you when people insult you,
And falsely say what leads folks to doubt.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is
Great in the heavens. You’re not alone.

When you are persecuted in one place,
Flee to another. God will be there.
You will be hated by all the nations
Because you testify of God’s grace.
Many will seize you and persecute you,
And put to death the foll’wers of Christ.

Yet do not fear what humans may do to you,
For I’m with you all through the night.
I tell you, love your enemies with my love,
And forgive as I forgave you.
Pray for those who do evil against you.
Rest in my love and grace from above.

A Personal Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible, whose eternal purpose breathes meaning into the world, whose will calls me to authentic being.

I believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Through Him all things were made, and in Him I find the ground of my being. For me and for my salvation, He entered the absurdity of human existence, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and became man, fully God and fully human. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, bearing the weight of my sin and despair. On the third day, He rose again, conquering death and revealing the hope of eternal life. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, ruling with mercy and justice. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; His kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, and with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified. He speaks to my soul in the silence of choice, convicting, guiding, and sustaining me in the freedom and responsibility of my existence.

I believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, a Universal Church that is Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, a sacred act that binds me to Christ’s death and resurrection. I look forward the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come, where meaning is fulfilled in the presence of God.

I believe that I am created free, yet bound by sin, called to choose Christ in every moment, to wrestle with doubt, and to embrace faith as an act of courage. In my finitude, I am known by the Infinite; In my striving, I am held by grace. To God alone be glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Why does the solar system seem so random?

I wonder why there are about 365.2422 days in a year rather than the 360 that some cultures used? The moon cycle is 29.5 days rather than 4 weeks (28 days). It gives me the impression that there wasn't much planning behind their design.

Genesis 1:14 says:
Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years
That suggests God planned them to some degree.

Though on the other hand it is good how the Sun and the Moon were roughly the right sizes to cover each other with phases of the Moon and eclipses.

Need prayer for joy

Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers- I need joy! I do not have joy, I have never had it, I had it for about 5 minutes right after I got saved and then it left, it has never been back since. There must be a very good reason why I do not have it, I have been seeking God as to why but no reply thus far. The bible says the joy of the Lord is your strength and I lack strength! I do not have the peace of God either. Please pray for joy! Thank you!

Have you fallen out under the power of God?

Hi everyone, a question- have you ever fallen out under the power of God? (When God's power hits you and you fall over, and God ministers to you) This happens often at the church I go to, Grace Chapel in Elizabethtown, PA. However this has never happened to me, sometimes it happens to everyone in the entire room but me! Sometimes I am the only one left standing! Some people think there is something seriously wrong with me! Some people have laid their hands on me and prayed for it to happen and it still doesn't happen!

The One Big Beautiful Bill

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Delivers on President Trump’s Priorities to Restore and Expand Trump-Era Growth and Relief for Families, Workers, and Small Businesses.
May 12, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, the Ways and Means Committee will markup “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” delivering on President Trump’s economic agenda and supporting pro-family, pro-worker tax provisions. The legislation builds on the success of the 2017 Trump tax cuts and carries out the very policies that America voted for, making the economy stronger, expanding tax relief for middle class and low-income Americans, and ushering in a new golden age of prosperity to benefit workers, families, farmers, and small businesses.
“This bill delivers on what Americans voted for with President Trump’s promise to put America First – with tax policies that reward hard work, bring jobs back home, increase opportunity, and rebuild the economy for the working class. It puts the interests of low-income, working families ahead of the wealthy by expanding tax relief to those who need it the most – including the President’s priorities of no tax on tips and overtime pay and additional relief for America’s seniors. Small businesses and family farmers will benefit from the certainty provided so they can invest in their futures and grow jobs.
“Under the economic policies of President Biden and Washington Democrats, the wealthy and well-connected benefitted from taxpayer handouts. The Ways and Means Republican tax bill ends special interest giveaways and will hold the woke elite and entities that benefit from the tax code accountable. It will halt the flow of taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants and China.
“We have an opportunity and a responsibility to secure a brighter future for America’s workers, families, farmers, and small businesses. The legislation that the Ways and Means Committee has brought forward meets this historic moment,” said Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08).

Delivering An Economy that Works for Working Families
Pro-growth, pro-worker, pro-family, pro-small business policies that will make America’s economy stronger, deliver additional tax relief for working families, farmers, and small businesses, and replace bad tax policy with good tax policy.

Biden's surprising announcement of his prostate cancer diagnosis has prompted conspiracy theorists to claim he was hiding his diagnosis from the public while in office. Many are pointing to this video as evidence for what they believe to be a cover up.

This conspiracy is part of a wider belief that the Biden administration was covering up for the President's physical and mental decline throughout his term. Whether or not he did have cancer in office has no impact on the current political landscape, as neither he nor his Vice President, Kamala Harris, are in power.

It seems kind of suspicious that a President with the best medical care and constant screenings would just "suddenly discover" they had stage 4 prostate cancer. Did Joe Biden actually tell the truth when he said that he "has" cancer in 2022? Note, he said he has cancer, not he had cancer implying his previously treated skin cancer? Jake Tapper is already on his campaign exposing how the administration and the media lied to cover up Joe's declining health. What do you think?

Supreme Court will allow Trump administration to end TPS program for Venezuelans

No special treatment just because they are likely Democrat voters.

The Postwar Consensus is why evil is tolerated

I've been trying to distill the reigning postwar ideology down into simple explanations:

We have an alternative code of morality that has been allowed to flourish for the last 60+ years.

The only truly unpardonable sin of this new moral system is "racism". As long as you're not being "racist", then you're basically okay and will be tolerated.

The only true form of blasphemy is to use a particular racial slur. No other forms of blasphemy exist. You can say practically anything else. All sense of "true evil" has been loaded into this one particular part of speech.

For example:
Why is pornography mass produced and saturated throughout society?

Because pornographers aren't racists. A lot of us don't like pornography, but we accept it as part of a society that values peoples' freedom to do what they want.

Before the Postwar Consensus, pornography was recognized as an extreme source of immorality and was simply not openly tolerated in society.

For another example:
Why is violent crime allowed to run unchecked throughout our cities? Because a severe crackdown on violent crime would be racist.

Before the Postwar Consensus, the kind of violent crime we see happening daily would have been met with immediate and harsh retribution.

Crime is still bad, and frowned upon, but it is generally tolerated as a part of living in a pluralistic society. However, a racial "hate-crime" (i.e. white on black violence), would not be tolerated for a moment. All the institutional gears of society would immediately begin turning to bring the harshest punishment upon the perpetrator.

The explanation for this is that our moral 'lexicon' of good and evil has been uprooted from a more traditional, Biblical landscape, and replaced with the Postwar Consensus that came into being in 1945, was ascendant in the 1960's, but really became solidified as Totalitarian ideology in the 1990s.

Regarding Christianity.... known practicing homosexuals could sit comfortably in most churches in America. Tolerance would be preached. "Jesus ate with sinners"...

However, try having a known "racist" come into your church and you will suddenly find yourself in a church reminiscent of the middle ages, with the church leadership ready to immediately cast out and excommunicate the evildoer and blaspheming racist.

So, all manner of traditional concepts of evil are allowed to flourish openly because our senses for seeing and responding evil have been compressed into this one small area we call 'racism'.

Does anyone doubt this or question it? Please discuss.

Thanks for reading.

Coming home

Greetings! After years of searching and praying I am coming full circle in my head and in person to the Catholic Church. I still have personal issues due to my previous divorce and subsequent remarriage, but I can participate in the Mass and Catholic lifecycle events much as I did for nearly 10 years when I attended the RCC before crossing the Tiber. I may be able to iron out my marriage situation over time, but in the meantime this is about as good as I can do in that regard - and that's OK.

The election of Pope Leo XIV spurred this on after it being something that I have considered and prayed about for years. So, I no longer consider myself a lapsed Catholic, but rather a Catholic in an impaired situation. I know that there are many Catholics that ignore the teachings and just continue on in the church as if they were not in an impaired situation, but I don't want to do that.

So, as you will notice I have changed my faith tag to the appropriate one and am happy to be back.

Russia outlaws Amnesty International in latest crackdown on dissent and activists

The designation means the international human rights group must stop any work in Russia and it subjects those who cooperate with it or support it to prosecution.

--

This is similar to the declaration that Navalny's political movement was extremist in nature. Curiously enough...

The rights group Amnesty International said it would be “one of the most serious blows for the rights to freedom of expression and association in Russia’s post-Soviet history.”

You'd Better "Stop Believin'" Now

Presidential? Definitely not.
Questionable Sanity? Sure seems like it to me.
Trump's head superimposed on Journey members' bodies, performing the entire song, which he posted himself on Truth Video.
Lots of people (including me) love this inspirational song. I have it on my exercise playlist, and now it's ruined by this grotesque, unhinged, self-posted parody.

Is this what a president who has only listened to 12 briefings in four months as president doing when he should be working for us? Defacing music videos to pretend not only that he is the "star" but also that he "believes" in something other than himself.

There are a lot of Claims about Scientific Studies... The Methodologies and the Data Needs to be Careully Examined

The METHODOLOGY of scientifiec studies, should always be he center deciding the VALIDITY
of a acientific study.

Articles that CLAIM that some study thoses that a drug is dangerous, are VERY DIFFERENT
than examinations of the methdology of the studies themselves.

ALSO, (as with all studies dealing with behaviour that Christians should consider to be part of the
Christian moral-ethical code, should be be sorted out as MORAL-ETHICAL issues, and not simpley be dealt
with as if they were merely secular examinations of methodologies of some process.

That is, when Christians read articles claiming that "some data shows that some process is
harmful...", Christians must examine BOTH issues. Is the process compatible with the Christian faith?
Is the process compatible with the objective standards of scientific research?

Many of the studies that RFK proposes as "good", I assert, do not meet the rigor of
scientific studies. And,RFK, I assert, has made a buisiness of pushing shoddy studies that do
not meet modern scientific standards, but that emotionally appeal to one group or another.
---------- --------
I think that it would be more important for Christians to focus on the METHODOLOGY OF RH STUDIES,
AND ON THE MORAL-ETHICAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES that the studies address, rather than on
a narrower look at ONLY the methodology or the theological importance of the study.

It looks like this might be it...

Our congregation may be facing serious financial problems, and it looks like we may have to make tough decisions.

The congregation was never well shepherded by the denomination. The people have always been ready to go deeper. But ideological capture and institutional inertia militate against that. And everything is dying. I do not forsee good times ahead in general for any form of institutional Christianity in the western world.

I am trying to discern what I do at church. Whether to leave, or offer a gift of presence.

I had an AI write up a hymn based on a philosophical theology I have been working on with ChatGPT and Gemini. It is trying to integrate my intuitions, varied religious experience and systems thinking into something greater, a deep mysticism of transformation.. I shared it with my pastor, she thought it was beautiful. It decenters traditional theology in favor of themes of Liberation Theology, anti-colonialism, post-humanism, and interspirituality. This particular hymn has been written to be expressed in as traditional Christian language as possible. But it contains a deeper meaning, that might speak into the current situation we are facing, prophetically:

Hymn of Earth and Spirit

(Verse 1)
God's wisdom breathes in greenest tree,
The Earth, our sacred ground.
Not just in Heav'n, but here we see,
Where life's deep pulse is found.
From rock and river, Wisdom flows,
A Mother's gentle hand,
The ancient peace the Spirit knows,
Across this living land.

(Verse 2)
The Christ, who walked this dusty Earth,
Showed fire within His heart.
Not soft acceptance, but rebirth,
To tear old ways apart.
He knew the broken, touched the low,
With love both fierce and true.
That sacred flame can in us glow,
To make all things anew.

(Verse 3)
No walls can hold what God outpours,
No simple creed confine.
Through human hearts, through nature's doors,
We touch the Light Divine.
The mystery deep, the Spirit vast,
Beyond what words can say.
That holy presence, meant to last,
Is with us on our way.

(Verse 4)
So let us rise with courage bold,
And seek this deeper truth.
A story waiting to unfold,
Renewing age and youth.
To heal the world, with hands and prayer,
And hear Creation's plea.
For God is here, beyond compare,
In all that is, and is to be.

Jealousy and Selfish Ambition

“Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” (James 3:13-18 NASB1995)

There are many people in this world of ours who consider themselves to be wise because they are intelligent, well read, book smart people who know a lot of facts about a lot of subjects, and who are able to do complicated job assignments which require them to be very knowledgeable in certain areas, and because they can quote a lot of facts or statistics on multiple subjects, and/or because they have college or seminary degrees and thus they have diplomas. And some of them have titles of importance and of prestige.

But none of that in itself makes anyone wise. For wisdom has to do with good judgment and soundness of actions and decisions. It is the ability to apply the knowledge that we have in ways which are helpful and beneficial to ourselves and to others which will produce what is good and healthful, especially spiritually. A person who is wise evaluates a situation before just jumping in, and they consider carefully all the pros and cons before making a decision. A Christian should be one who prays to God to know what to do.

So there are a whole lot of very smart people in this world who are severely lacking in wisdom and in sound judgment, and this includes a whole lot of people who profess faith in Jesus Christ, too. And there were times in my own life when I was one of them, when I lacked good judgment and common sense and I was not seeking the counsel of God as I ought, but I was following the persuasion of humankind, instead. I’m not there now, but I won’t declare that I always make wise choices, but I believe I do, in practice.

So those who are wise are those who reveal their wisdom by their good (moral, honest, trustworthy) behavior. But if you are one who has bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, you are lacking in godly wisdom and good judgment, for you are following the wisdom of the flesh and of the devil and of the world, and you are not following the counsel and the wisdom of God. And you may be a Pharisee, too, who puts on a performance of all goodness outwardly while in reality you are deeply addicted to certain sins.

So, what causes someone to become bitter and jealous of others? Most of the religious rulers and/or people of influence in the temple of God in Jesus’ day were opposed to Jesus, and were bitter against him out of jealously of him due to his temporary popularity among the people and the fear that their own positions of power might be in jeopardy. They also did not like it that he claimed to be God (who he is) and that he confronted them in their sins, and that he exposed their hypocrisy and warned others about them.

Now people become bitter for many different reasons, but usually because they believe someone wronged them in some way, whether true or not. And so they may end up being bitter against all people of the same type, like all women or all men or all professing Christians or all people of any particular race or nationality or location, etc. And they may be bitter against all who are teaching death to sin and walks of obedience to God. And that is because they are also bitter against God who they believe did them wrong.

And bitterness will often lead to sinful rebellion against God, and against his commands, and the mistreatment of those who are speaking the truths of God and his word and/or all those who they believe did them wrong. And bitterness may be caused by selfish ambition because other people did not do things the way that they wanted them to do them, or other people did not give them all the praise and adoration they were hoping to receive, or if others said “No” to any evil that they may have tried to get them to do.

But the wisdom that comes from God is not going to result in selfish ambition and bitterness of heart and mind against God and against other humans. For godly wisdom will result in what is morally pure, upright, godly, honest, faithful, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, and without hypocrisy, etc. And gentleness and the making of peace is never to involve the refusal to speak the truth in love to the rebellious sinner or to compromise our faith and convictions in order to be liked and approved of.

For gentleness does not speak lies to people to make them feel good, and it does not compromise the truth of the gospel in order to not offend people. Gentleness is reserved strength so that we are not overly harsh. But the Scriptures speak much about how we need to speak the truth in love to people and we need to exhort one another daily so that none of us will be led astray by the deceitfulness of sin nor taken captive by the lies of the deceitful workmen who use manipulative tactics to get people to believe lies.

For if making peace with others involves spiritual compromises and backing down on telling them the truth in order to not offend them with the truth of the gospel, then it is not the fruit of righteousness, but it is the fruit of the flesh and of the world. For Jesus said that he did not come to the world to make peace but to bring a sword and to turn even family members against one another? How so? Because he spoke the truth that many did not want to hear, and those who believed him were then persecuted for their faith.

How Long Till the Morning

Scripture: I Thessalonians 4:17
By C. E. Couchman

Consider the mornings of this mortal land,
Each a new beginning from the Maker’s hand.
While the storms may gather ‘gainst the evening sky,
The day breaks cloudless in the morning.

Rise up to the battle, for the skies dawn clear.
Let us gather courage while the foe draws near.
Though the night falls weary, saints of God, march on!
And He’ll raise our banner in the morning.

When the trumpet sounds to signal Heaven’s day,
Resurrection Morning when the dead shall wake,
What a glorious gath’ring when the Lord descends
And we rise to meet him in the morning.

How long, my Lord? Till we see the morning?
How long, O, my Lord, till we see your face?
O my Lord, guide us through our troubles
Till we rise above them in the morning.
