I think that is one of the hardest things for Christians to do. The biggest challenge.
Maybe we get to a stage when we think we don't need to repent much. We feel proud of our progress. On one level we are doing well. Going to Church, reading the Bible, not blaspheming, staying away from...
I think we are challenged to become more mature in our faith by unbelievers. They may use every trick in the book to trip us up, look like hypocrites, fools with a sheep mentality who are only looking for "opiate" to cure our stresses and anxieties.
It's like dealing with difficult teenagers...
She dominates our Bible Study group, she interrupts, she doesn't listen respectfully to anyone. She rushes through stuff that needs more reflection time.
But break time, she's the first one to serve others. Brings out food, offers people food, gets them a drink after asking which one they want...
This is something I want to emphasise to people either shaky in faith or just starting. And its also aimed at strengthening my own. :)
