This is something I want to emphasise to people either shaky in faith or just starting. And its also aimed at strengthening my own. 
I hear people complaining, "God doesn't seem to be listening to me". My question would be "How hard have you tried?".
We need to really seek Him. Desperately seek Him. And not just with our mind but also with heart and soul. Patience, patience, patience. Waiting for His direction. Read scripture, prayer, read other books too that keep you grounded, keep you focussed.
Half-hearted searching leads to half-hearted results. We might even discover a half-hearted false god instead of the real one.
Pray for discernment, pray to meet the right people who will act as guides. I truly believe I have been blessed to get the Parish priest I have now. And we are one of the few parishes that have Bible study in my city.
"If you truly seek Him, you will surely find Him." What profound words and they are the words we should keep in mind, heart and soul as we live each day.
