  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Titus 1:11-16 ESV “For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach. One of the Cretans, a prophet of their...

When Christianity seems to falter and the numbers and profits diminish, there goes out a corporate claim that the followers are being enticed to be more accepting of the secular world, but this is far from new. Eve and then Adam did that in the first fall. There have been may falls since, up to...
2 Timothy 4:6-8 ESV “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge...
I've been listening to a book about tidying your house and, honestly, I'm all about that. Even though my room isn't a mess exactly, it still feels as though I have far more things than I know what to do with. The biggest offenders are clothing and books, although I am certain there are more...
Recently I got hired for a company where I will be doing behavioral therapy with children on the Autism spectrum. I'm currently doing the required training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (an RBT) and, honestly, I'm excited to start. I've been studying heavily so I can get started...

What exactly is a kingdom, anyway? Currently, we have nations with kings. We have countries that are allied together into blocks or alliances. But we don't have kingdoms. So if we don't have kingdoms then what is Matthew 24:7 even talking about? Matthew 24:7 For nation will rise against nation...
Philippians 3:17-21 ESV “Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their...
Philippians 3:10-16 ESV “…that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to...

Jecharon alerted the others. "A huge flying insect is following after us!" Those who had armed themselves with a simple sharp weapon stood ready for using it, as they waited to not be taken by surprise. This insect, also huge, had a long body with a couple of very huge membranous wings at each...
Hebrews 12:12-16 ESV “Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See...
Jeremiah 7:1-4 ESV “The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: ‘Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all you men of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your...
I am reading in Jeremiah 4-5 about God’s people in Jeremiah’s day who were largely living in rebellion against the Lord. They were foolish people who were ‘wise’ in doing evil, who did not do good. They were those who swore falsely of faith in God, who gave lip service only to the Lord. But they...
Jeremiah 4:1-2 ESV “If you return, O Israel, declares the Lord, to me you should return. If you remove your detestable things from my presence, and do not waver, and if you swear, ‘As the Lord lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then nations shall bless themselves in...
I am reading in Jeremiah 3:1-25. It is a long passage and it is difficult to share only a small portion of it and to get the right message from it, so I will have to summarize at least parts of it and try to hit on the key points. For this is a critical message that we, as the church, need to...
Jeremiah 2:1-3 NIV The word of the Lord came to me: “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: “This is what the Lord says: “‘I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown. Israel was holy to the...

Jesus was beloved by the Father (Matt 17:5, Mk 1:11, Lk 9:7 & 35) Every believer is beloved thru Christ Rom 1: 6 and you also are among those who are called of Jesus Christ to belong to Him; 7 [I am writing] to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called to be saints (God’s people) and set...
Isaiah 59:1-3 ESV “Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. For your hands are...
Isaiah 58:1-11 ESV “Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake...
