  1. Savior-sight

After reading 1 John 2 . . . If we take shelter in what we have heard, we will be loved children of the Father and Son. Staying there for livelihood places us in all eternal good. For God is Light, our Savior-sight,* if we have Him we surely see. Without God is darkness inside, regret that we did not love the living creed to love one another as He has loved us, to live out commandments, confess when in sin, we stumble against mercy and trust. The Anointing is a knowing thing; if we guard...
  2. Origin Of The Bible - Bibliology Resources

"The term Bibliology (from Greek biblos meaning “book”) refers particularly to the study of the nature of the Bible as divine revelation. It often includes such topics as revelation, inspiration, inerrancy, canonicity, textual criticism, illumination, and interpretation." Greg Herrick For almost as long as I can remember, this area of study has held great interest to me. Over the years I have managed to find and gather a number of resources, and wanted to share a few of them with those...
  3. Attention To God

There are people who say we all need to spend time with God, in prayer. But I think we need to be sharing with God, all the time, not only during prayer time. But during prayer we can get closer to Him, then how we become in prayer is our example of how to stay all through the day. Quiet down, be in His peace, enjoy Him, get needed correction, and then how we are in His love is our standard for how to be with God and submit to Him even all the time. "rather let it be the hidden person of...
  4. Quiet With God

There are evil and awful things that come to mind, as I wake up, this morning; but I need to feed on who You are, O God, and how You are able. And I need to first be attentive to You. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21) I have been a failure, and I know that others can have nonfunctional consciences. But never mind how I might compare with others or how I have been. How are we in comparison with Jesus? And feed on how You are able to change us into...
  5. Romans Chapter One

I began reading Romans this morning (managing to get through chapter one, every victory counts). The first verse that really struck me was verse 5. Well, 5-6, which in the NIV translation says: “Through him and for His name’ssake, we received Grace and apostleship to call people from among the Gentiles to the obedience that comes FROM faith.” It was one of those statements that made complete sense to me once I read it, but that I had never thought of before. Obedience comes FROM faith. Well,...
  6. Jesus In Winter

Today Jesus was on my mind. I craved to feel him near me. I am grateful to have Jesus. I know that one day he will heal all my wounds. I know he is carrying me and that he wont hurt me. I had some fear today about Jesus being taken away from me. That I may be persecuted again and this time Jesus could be taken from me. That thought distressed me greatly. I prayed about it and Jesus said that he will never leave me nor forsake me and that he will heal all my deep wounds. He let me know that I...
  7. Confused?

I know god is supposed to have a plan for everything but lately i am confused. In the last month I have had a good friend and a Co- worker die . One was 42 and one was 58. The 42 year old left behind 2 high school boys with no father. The 58 year old was one of the nicest people at my work. How can this be gods plan? I don’t get it!
  8. Why Give Your Heart Away To Someone Who Hasn't Given Their Heart To Jesus?

If I could write myself a letter..and just step away for a bit in an objective way..and just say outloud what's in my heart..I'd say, You're incredibly beautiful..with all your flaws and imperfections. You're a work-in-progress after all. Who isn't? If you'll allow me to be honest..I think you're making a mistake. I think you need to slow down..because you're not quite seeing the bigger picture. You don't have to fill your heart with temporary pleasure of someones company. You don't have to...
  9. Jesus Protecting Me

Today was a difficult day. I felt scared and hurt about the past. But I meditated on Jesus' goodness and I knew he would protect me. I feel that Jesus loves me a lot and that he wont let harm come to me. I feel that he is protecting me and always will. I know Jesus saw everything that happened to me, the kidnapping, the rape, the humiliation, the violence. I know he understands that it broke my soul but I know he will keep me in his arms and he will never leave me. I sometimes have fear when...
  10. Sliding

I think I am not in the best place right now. I have struggled with some doubts and hard heartedness, but recently I have too willingly or wilfully done a number of bad things. I have problems with blasphemy, vanity, worldliness, and laziness. I have a hard time reading the Bible, or focusing on it, or maintaining an open attitude I guess. Like instead of joyfully or peacefully reading having bad thoughts and mentally closing off. I feel too reckless, angry, and selfish or vain. I don’t want...
  11. Daily Devotional > Who Is Really Devoted? (c:

The One who is really devoted is God. God is more devoted to us, than we are to Him. But, most of all, our Heavenly Father is so devoted to His own Son Jesus; and because He is so pleased with Jesus, He desires to change us to be like Jesus > "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29) God desires for His Son Jesus to be "the firstborn among many brethren"; so our Father is about...
  12. Showing Love

I was recently watching a documentary on a Christian community in the southern United States and when doing an interview with a woman at a restaurant, she said something like, "We Christians often treat other people with judgement or contempt because they don't do what we would have them do are they aren't as we would have them be. We don't show enough love." I think sometimes as humans on this earth, because of our sinful state, we do have a hard time showing love as we should. Even in our...
  13. What Better Place?

Matthew 6:19-21 (KJV): Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Where is the safe for these treasures, grace-guilded revelations? The place where love-laden life shines forever, encourages us to trust, even over...
  14. Teamwork

As you can see from my avatar, I am a dedicated fan of the sport of cricket. I watch every test match between Australia and the country they are playing on TV and each one takes up to five days to complete. I realise from the comments of the Americans I have met that for most of them, cricket is a mystery. A game so complex it needs the brain of Einstein to understand it. They may be right as I was brought up on the game as a spectator, player, umpire and coach in the UK where I come from...
  15. Quality V Quantity

One thing that has become de rigor is the constant cry that what children need is quality time, not quantity time. This has become a mantra ever since mothers have been going out to work full time and leaving children to the care of others. Despite the fact that scripture exhorts us to bring up our children so that they will not depart from the way you have taught them, we still believe the way of man that as long as you give them an hour of quality time (whatever that is) you don't have...
