  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jeremiah 7:1-4 ESV “The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: ‘Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all you men of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your...
I am reading in Jeremiah 4-5 about God’s people in Jeremiah’s day who were largely living in rebellion against the Lord. They were foolish people who were ‘wise’ in doing evil, who did not do good. They were those who swore falsely of faith in God, who gave lip service only to the Lord. But they...
Jeremiah 4:1-2 ESV “If you return, O Israel, declares the Lord, to me you should return. If you remove your detestable things from my presence, and do not waver, and if you swear, ‘As the Lord lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then nations shall bless themselves in...
I am reading in Jeremiah 3:1-25. It is a long passage and it is difficult to share only a small portion of it and to get the right message from it, so I will have to summarize at least parts of it and try to hit on the key points. For this is a critical message that we, as the church, need to...
Jeremiah 2:1-3 NIV The word of the Lord came to me: “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: “This is what the Lord says: “‘I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown. Israel was holy to the...

Isaiah 59:1-3 ESV “Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. For your hands are...
Isaiah 58:1-11 ESV “Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake...
Matthew 16:15-19 ESV Jesus Christ said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And...

Argon said, "Jecharon, those great centaurbug insects are not really pursuing us. They must have been trying to drive us away." Jecharon said, "It seems so, though I would not like to try finding out what they would do if we just stayed while they came at us. They look tough and I don't know...
I read a Facebook meme today. I don’t know where it originated. And I am going to just summarize what the meme said, for it is long. But basically what the author described in his post were a bunch of different people with various sin issues, one of which may not be a sin, depending on the...

Isaiah 40:6-8 ESV “A voice says, ‘Cry!’ And I said, ‘What shall I cry?’ All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower...
